This document discusses how to stay healthy through proper nutrition and avoiding certain chemicals. It identifies sugars, artificial sweeteners like aspartame, hydrogenated oils, MSG, and antibiotics in animal products as potentially harmful to health. Real foods like meat, fish, eggs, nuts and seeds, vegetables, fruits, and healthy oils are recommended instead. Maintaining overall wellness through diet, exercise, sleep, water intake and stress management is also advised.

Health Education on prevention of hypertensionRadhika kulvi
Hypertension is a chronic condition of concern due to its role in the causation of coronary heart diseases. Hypertension is a worldwide epidemic and important risk factor for coronary artery disease, stroke and renal diseases. Blood pressure is the force exerted by the blood against the walls of the blood vessels and is sufficient to maintain tissue perfusion during activity and rest. Hypertension is sustained elevation of BP. In adults, HTN exists when systolic blood pressure is equal to or greater than 140mmHg or diastolic BP is equal to or greater than 90mmHg. The

Antibiotic Stewardship by Anushri Srivastava.pptxAnushriSrivastav
Stewardship is the act of taking good care of something.
Antimicrobial stewardship is a coordinated program that promotes the appropriate use of antimicrobials (including antibiotics), improves patient outcomes, reduces microbial resistance, and decreases the spread of infections caused by multidrug-resistant organisms.
WHO launched the Global Antimicrobial Resistance and Use Surveillance System (GLASS) in 2015 to fill knowledge gaps and inform strategies at all levels.
ACCORDING TO apic.org,
Antimicrobial stewardship is a coordinated program that promotes the appropriate use of antimicrobials (including antibiotics), improves patient outcomes, reduces microbial resistance, and decreases the spread of infections caused by multidrug-resistant organisms.
ACCORDING TO pewtrusts.org,
Antibiotic stewardship refers to efforts in doctors’ offices, hospitals, long term care facilities, and other health care settings to ensure that antibiotics are used only when necessary and appropriate
According to WHO,
Antimicrobial stewardship is a systematic approach to educate and support health care professionals to follow evidence-based guidelines for prescribing and administering antimicrobials
In 1996, John McGowan and Dale Gerding first applied the term antimicrobial stewardship, where they suggested a causal association between antimicrobial agent use and resistance. They also focused on the urgency of large-scale controlled trials of antimicrobial-use regulation employing sophisticated epidemiologic methods, molecular typing, and precise resistance mechanism analysis.
Antimicrobial Stewardship(AMS) refers to the optimal selection, dosing, and duration of antimicrobial treatment resulting in the best clinical outcome with minimal side effects to the patients and minimal impact on subsequent resistance.
According to the 2019 report, in the US, more than 2.8 million antibiotic-resistant infections occur each year, and more than 35000 people die. In addition to this, it also mentioned that 223,900 cases of Clostridoides difficile occurred in 2017, of which 12800 people died. The report did not include viruses or parasites

10. M’lis believes in real food. Real food is nutrient-dense, with
lots of naturally occurring vitamins and minerals. Real food
includes meat, fish, eggs, nuts and seeds, vegetables, fruit,
and healthy oils. Food that was raised, fed and grown
naturally is real food.
Generally, you cannot find real food in the middle sections
of a grocery store. Food is supposed to be perishable. We
eat this way as a permanent lifestyle to maintain our
strength, energy, and activity level. Eating this way, along
with exercise, appropriate sleep, water intake and a healthy
mental attitude keeps us at a healthy weight and reduces
our risk of lifestyle related diseases and conditions.
M’lis Nutrition Mantra
11.
12. We have the tools, but you must bring the why.
28. Keep weight low and constant;
gain little or no weight during adult
years. Eat fewer calories! The
average daily intake in the US is
3000 calories- those who eat 2,000
or less typically live a healthier,
longer life.
29. Eat Fruits and
Vegetables. The
largest amount of
calories consumed
should come from
these and other
natural foods such as
nuts, seeds, plant oils,
and legumes.
30. Take supplements.
Most people over the
age of 60 have nutrient
deficiencies which can
cause negative health
consequences.
31. Keep your “numbers”
low. Low Blood
Pressure, Low
Cholesterol, and Low
Blood Sugar are all
important to
maintaining a healthy
body
32. Exercise regularly. It is
important to do both
cardiovascular and
strength building exercise.
33. Sleep Well. Keep
regular sleep
patterns. 40% of
individuals over the
age of 60 have some
kind of sleep
disorder. This leads
to Heart Disease,
Stroke, Depression,
and Alzheimer’s.
34. Challenge your mind. Mental exercise is associated with
higher brain activity. This causes growth and connections
among brain cells that resist brain aging.
35. Decrease or
Eliminate Stress.
Being able to handle
stress is a major key
to health. Stress
leads to Heart
disease, stroke,
cancer and immune
system disorders.
How important is our immune system? Very important. Without an immune system we would be dead within hours.
Every time you lose a part of the immune system your body has to work harder to keep it healthy.
Our immune system is a key component to our health. It not only effects if we are sick, but also when our immune system crashes our digestive tract declines as well. It is very important that we keep our immune system strong if we want to prolong our life and prevent against premature decay and age related diseases.
How we feel on the inside reflects how we look on the outside.
I would like to discuss what chemicals we consume on a daily basis can be wrecking our health and our appearance. I also want to discuss 10 tips for living longer, healthier and happy lives.
- 1 tsp of sugar effects the immune system for 3 hours.
Ingestion of only 100 grams of refined sugar reduces the ability of white blood cells to destroy bacteria.
When we consume a lot of sugar it can create a surge in insulin. Insulin is an aging hormone. Want to look five years younger….start cutting sugar out of your diet.
Make sure you are reading labels. Sugar comes in many different forms. Not just sugar or fructose. Be savy. Other names for sugar include syrup, juice, and anything ending in OSE. As you browse your supermarket you’ll not only find it impossible to find a can of soup, bag of hash browns, salad dressing, or even bacon without sugar. We consume copious amounts of sugar and it is destroying our health and increasing our waistline.
This graph that was pulled from the Center of Disease control paints a pretty grim picture with the link to sugar and obesity.
As you can see in the 1980’s there was a huge spike in the obesity trends and it just kept climbing at astronomical rates. The new ingredient added to our food in the 1980’s was high fructose corn syrup.
Apartame is the 1# most complained about food additive in the history of the FDA
It is commonly found in sugar free foods
It is the only food additive that can permeate the tissues of the brain.
- Vegetable oils are generally liquid at room temp. So why is margarine solid at room temp when it is made from sunflower and corn? Hydroginization.
Hydroginization is a high tech process. This process changes the nature of some of the fats into a form that is no easily recognized by the body. It is a process of heating liquid vegetable oil and combining it with hydrogen gas.
Hydroginization is great for manufacturers because it prolongs the shelf life of processed foods.
These man made fats have zero health benefits.
Causes free radical formation
-MSG makes you hungry and increases your appetite.
Doesn’t have any flavor itself, but stimulates receptors on the tongue to enhance taste. So the flavor explodes in your mouth.
Since MSG was introduced into our food 50 years ago it has been added in larger and larger doses.
No strain of rat or mice is naturally obese. So scientists have to create them. They make them morbidly obese creatures by injecting them w MSG. The MSG triples the amount of insulin the pancreas creates causing them to become obese.
Not only is MSG proven to cause obesity it is an addictive substance. Think Nicotine for food!
People eat more than they would if MSG wasn’t added.
Betcha can’t eat just one takes on a whole new meaning where MSG is concerned.
What is MSG in? Campbell’s Soup, Doritos, Lays, Hamburger Helper, Kraft Salad dressings and so much more. It is in fast food and sit down.
+An example, Cows are supposed to grass. But what do we feed them to make them fat? We feed them Corn! Which is full of sugar. Which causes them to get ill. So then we pump them full of antibiotics. Or we feed them antibiotics as a preventative measure. We want them to grow bigger, stronger, faster. So we give them steroids. Now…what happens when we eat their meat? We are consuming those antibiotics and steroids as well. That is why we have 9 yr old girls starting their menses and little boys running around with fatty breast tissue.
And antibiotics aren’t just used when the animals get sick, but farmers discovered decades ago that small doses of antibiotics would make most animals gain as much as 3% more weight and hormones help increase milk production in cows.
Now, if a group of animals is treated w a certain antibiotic over time, the bacteria living in those animals will become resistant to that drug.
According to a microbiologist Dr Glenn Morris the problem for humans is that if a person ingests the resistant bacteria via improperly cooked meats they become ill , the person might not respond to an antibiotic treatment.
When it comes to the foods we eat we tend to get caught up in calorie counting when we should be paying attention to what type of food we are eating. Eating real food for wellness and weight loss are going to render much better results. This is the M’lis mantra when it comes to optimal nutrition.
Read Mantra
Most people when they come to see me for their health or weight loss are surprised that there isn’t calorie counting, gimmicks or food depravation. Instead it is really simple. Good nutrient dense food, proper supplementation to rebuild the immune system, and taking care of the body as a whole. Not just focusing on one part. The body doesn’t work in parts. It works as a whole.
The Customizable M’lis programs are designed to help you regain your health and get your quality of life back while teaching you a sustainable way to live.
We want a sustainable lifestyle. We need to be able to continue. With a diet there is an end at some point. With a lifestyle change there is no end. A lifestyle change isn’t so rigid and restrictive. There is no depravation. It is not difficult to maintain once you reach your goals.
We have all the tools for you to be successful on your wellness and or weight loss journey. But you must bring the why.
You must ask yourself why it is important for you not to feel this way.
Why it is important to change your life.
All of us have very individual and unique reasons why
What is your why?
If this is your plate, you don’t need to worry so much about portion control. Have as much broccoli as you want. People overdo it on the starches.
Six Elements for optimal health
- Being overweight puts you at risk for developing type 2 diabetes, hypertension and high blood pressure.
- Dirty Dozen Clean 15
- Soil in N america has up to 85% less minerals than it did 100 yrs ago.
