Introduction
 The main aim of this project is to save lives of people by providing blood.
 Our project Online Blood Bank system using PHP is developed so that
users can view the information of nearby hospitals, blood banks and
volunteer donors.
 This project is developed for four perspectives i.e. hospital, blood bank,
volunteer donors and patient.
 This website reduces the time to a greater extent that is searching for the
required blood through blood banks and hospitals.
 Thus this website provides the required information in less time and also
helps in quicker decision making.

Motivation
 We believe that as more people talk about donating blood and blood
transfusions, more people will be inspired to give blood, volunteer or
donate financially to help fulfil our mission.
 When asked why they have not donated, many people say it is because
they were never asked to donate. So we are providing a platform to make
it possible for donors.
 We found that donors desire to help a family member or a friend in need of
blood was the most cited motivator for blood donation
 Motivations to donate are: altruism/humanitarian, personal or family credit,
social pressure, replacement and reward.

Problem Statement
Problem
 The major problem in old Blood banking systems was that, they don’t follow the
actual needs of users.
 Traditional blood banking systems were developed by 1 or 2 perspective.
 Tracking the database was complicated when the details are maintained manually.
 There was shortage and sometimes unavailability of rare blood groups due to less
modules i.e. patient and donors.
Solution
 A better idea is to use the website which is very popular with people too.
 This website is providing each entity the facility to approach nearby blood donors
so that it will become much easier to search rare blood groups in the hour of
need.
Blood Bank Management System
5
Aims & Objectives
 To bridge the gap between blood banks, hospitals, volunteer donors and
needy people, through this system.
 To facilitate the search process for needy people and make it easier than
before.
 To reduce the data entry process.
 Some blood types are rare so the system can find the required donors with
the required blood type easily from the huge database by using search
feature in the android app.
 To provide dynamic database that is storing donors Information and can
communicate with them easily.
Blood Bank Management System
6
Results Expected
 Efficient management of blood resources.
 Blood shortages.
 Handling of blood out dates.
 Quantitative cost measurements of the system’s performance.
 Adequate supply of the blood.
 Screened and tested blood supply.
Blood Bank Management System
7
Utilization of Research Results
 To make web technology more friendly for the patients, blood banks,
hospitals and volunteer donors in context of blood donation and blood
transfusion.
 To save lives by rapid access to blood related information anytime,
anywhere.

CONCLUSION
In this project, “BLOOD BANK MANAGEMENT SYSTEM” we have tried to
computerize various processes of Blood Bank.
Blood Bank Management System is very flexible software and can be used in any
branch of BLOOD BANK for keeping record. In this software we have tried to
provide all the Blood bank management system related record keeping facilities
which helps to keep record and employees who belongs to it.
The main focus of this project is to less in human efforts. The maintenance of the
record is made efficient, as all the records are stored in the SQL database. It is user
interactive and effective than the existing system.
The flexibility of visual basic helps to maintain the “BLOOD BANK
MANAGEMENT SYSTEM” more efficiently.

FUTURE ENHANCEMENTS
 The system has been developed under the given conditions and is found to work
effectively and efficiently. We should make the possible use of the techniques.
The basic purpose of all the innovationsin the technology is for our betterment.
 The system has been tested with sample covering .All possible options and their
performances are good.Since this system is flexible and modular, further
modifications of this package can be easily incorporated. The system can be
easily placed on the office so that best work efficiently.
 In future we will add User Login Section for User
