Within organizations, blockchain can transform finance/accounting by providing a secure transaction platform without intermediaries, and sales/marketing by providing information on potential customers. It can also help HR and procurement access better data on potential contractors. Externally, blockchain creates trust between entities and improves security/privacy through encryption while eliminating the need for intermediaries and increasing visibility/traceability. However, challenges include a lack of blockchain talent and skills, high energy consumption needs, and the technology's complexity which makes it difficult to understand and adopt.
