Blended learning is an educational strategy which
combines the traditional classroom with computer-
mediated activities through the use of tablets,
smartphones and other technological devices.
Positive interdependence: Students feel
responsible for their own and the group's
effort.
Individual accountability: All students in
a group must take responsibilities both for
their work and what they have learned.
Face-to-face interaction: Students
encourage and support one another; .
Group behaviours: Group members gain
direct instruction in the interpersonal,
social, and collaborative skills .
Group processing: Group members
analyze their own and the group's ability to
work together.
COOPERATIVE LEARNING
THE FLIPPED CLASSROOM
Teaching process is
transferred to the students
who can control access to
content directly.
BLOOM’S DIGITAL TAXONOMY
The students have direct access to the
contents of the lesson before coming to
class.
The teacher becomes a supporter and
facilitator and helps students in the
transition process from knowledge to the
acquisition of skills and competences .
The elements which characterize a lesson
introduction on the subject to be treated;
clear and attainable objectives that the lesson
aims to achieve;
video with questions to be answered;
acquisition of knowledge and competence
through cooperative learning;

 Each member of the group, in turn, expresses his opinion about
a proposed theme
 The opinions of the individual will be given in numbered spaces
depending on the level of sharing of the Group
 The central space will contain a summary of the different
opinions
Figure2.Map in the middle
 Each member of the group writes, in a space, personal
opinions about a proposed theme.
 The group members share what it is written and make a
summary, which is shown in the Central oval.
 The synthesis can leave room for creativity: a slogan, a
drawing, a diagram, a map.
Students think through questions using three distinct steps:
Think: Students think independently .
Pair: Students are grouped in pairs to discuss their thoughts.
Share: Student pairs share their ideas with a larger group.

You can select interactive video tutorials on phonetics, lecture
slides, on line reference grammar, study guides on foreign language
in social context, preparation course, and exam practice tests.
Flipped classroom helped the access to technologies and
resources on the web which are useful for the different
learning style and experience of each student. Learners
became active in the productions of videos, PowerPoint
presentations and interactive maps.
First year high school class
9th grade
The focus was on the relation between poetry and
music with specific reference to Shakespeare’s
sonnets. The main aim was to teach how to analyze a
poetic text and how this can be exploited in the
analysis of some songs students liked.
Third year high school class
11th grade

Poetry and Music
Flipped teaching was helpful to arrange activities on a
multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary level in a
project work which integrated Art and English
language. Students learned how to analyze a work
of art, how to organize art galleries, how to create a
QR code.
Fourth year high school class
12th grade

How to use a mixer
In several high school classes CLIL modules overlapped
various subjects such as Mathematics, Physics,
Science,Music in which English language was used for
the learning and teaching of both content and language.

  • 4. Blended learning is an educational strategy which combines the traditional classroom with computer- mediated activities through the use of tablets, smartphones and other technological devices.
  • 5. Positive interdependence: Students feel responsible for their own and the group's effort. Individual accountability: All students in a group must take responsibilities both for their work and what they have learned. Face-to-face interaction: Students encourage and support one another; . Group behaviours: Group members gain direct instruction in the interpersonal, social, and collaborative skills . Group processing: Group members analyze their own and the group's ability to work together. COOPERATIVE LEARNING
  • 7. Teaching process is transferred to the students who can control access to content directly.

  • 10. The students have direct access to the contents of the lesson before coming to class. The teacher becomes a supporter and facilitator and helps students in the transition process from knowledge to the acquisition of skills and competences .

  • 23. Flipped classroom helped the access to technologies and resources on the web which are useful for the different learning style and experience of each student. Learners became active in the productions of videos, PowerPoint presentations and interactive maps. First year high school class 9th grade
