HISTORY
• One of a kind event by an alumni association
• Aim: Bring the BITSian community even closer
and foster networking and friendship between
BITSians of various Batches
• Celebrated on the first Friday of every August.
The first Friday of august signifies the
commencement of a new academic year at BITS

Event 1: BITSians At Office
• BITSians donned their BITS tee to their workplace.
• A small informal get together was arranged in every
office. BITSians met at a common place in their
workplace and celebrated the occasion. Some offices
even cut cakes to celebrate!
• The event was held in over 100 office locations globally,
and saw a participation of over 2500 BITSians.

Event 2: Chapter Meets
• BITSians met across 45 chapters across the
globe for an evening dinner/party.
• Some chapters had multiple locations within the
city
• Events ranged from a formal dinner to informal
parties.
• 4000+ BITSians took part across the globe.

Highlights of BITSians’ Day 2014
• Event saw participation from remote locations, such as
Ganjam, Orissa and Tanzania
• TOI covered BITSians’ day at Udaipur
• A new chapter, BITSAA Hong Kong, was born out of this
event.
• Microsoft re-tweeted our photo of BITSians at their
office
• The participation of BITSians increased to 1.5 times
compared to BITSians’ day 2014
• The number of chapters celebrating the dayincreased
from 30 to 45
