The document describes an Octalysis Prime design challenge to redesign parts of the BitDegree online education platform. Participants are asked to study provided materials on the existing design and business metrics, then create 15-25 wireframes in Figma based on an existing battleplan. The top winner will receive prizes and an interview for a design role at Octalysis Group. Resources on wireframing and Figma are available to help complete the assignment by the March 28th deadline.
The OP Design Challenges provide an opportunity to put your Octalysis skills into practice. Watching the videos and interacting with other Primers and the OP Team on Slack is a good start,
applying your knowledge will truly take your skills to the next level.
The focus for this challenge will be on implementing existing brainstorming in high fidelity wireframes.
This challenge is based on an Octalysis Group project done for BitDegree, the world’s first blockchain- powered online education platform. Watch their 2017 Launch Video to get an idea about what BitDegree aims to achieve.
Most ‘Massive Open Online Courses’ have a 10-16% completion rate. After the design of the Octalysis Group (by Joris and Sabrina) was implemented, BitDegree now has a 50% completion rate, a 400% increase in course completion in 3 months.
Octalysis Prime Design Challenge: Project: Design New OP Items IIYu-kai Chou
Many OP Members have been using Items on the Island to grow and level up. However, there are still only 3 types of items, which could feel a bit undiversified and short on meaningful choices.
We would love to have OP Members come up with new meaningful ways to spend their Chou Coins and make their OP experiences more enjoyable and dynamic.
The Winner and Finalists will be selected based on who has the most ideas that we will end up deciding to implement on the Island.
Octalysis Prime Design Challenge: Project: Food Heroes, Part 2Yu-kai Chou
The OP Design Challenges provides OP Members opportunities to practice their Octalysis Gamification Skills to make everything awesome.
Watching OP videos is a good start, but applying your knowledge is part of the journey that Octalysis Experts must take! This time around we are visiting a real-life project that aims to impact the world in multiple ways.
Of course, you will earn upvotes for EXP, credibility, prestige, and a massive amount of valuable Chou Coins to help you level towards Silver or even Gold Status.
We are continuously striving to improve the quality of these challenges: Your feedback is welcome!

Why a hackathon is the best thing you can do to (re)launch a positive company culture.
Last year Dailymotion went through a deep re-organization of the engineering teams, we hired over 100 new employees, we threw out our old roadmap and we started over with a new clearly-defined, ambitious project. Within 3 months, we were well on our way to transforming ourselves into a new company and we needed to find again that old good vibe feeling whilst working to define a new culture.

Call for Code is a multi-year program that calls on developers to create practical, effective, and high-quality applications based on one or more IBM Cloud services (for example, web, mobile, data, analytics, AI, IoT, or weather) or Red Hat platforms (including OpenShift) to build a solution that can have an immediate and lasting impact on humanitarian issues as open source projects. In this session you'll learn more about the solutions built to tackle natural hazards, climate change, and the pandemic. What sets Call for Code apart from other technology-for-good competitions is the commitment to deploy the winning solutions with the IBM Service Corps and to help teams build sustainable open source communities through The Linux Foundation. Join us at this talk to hear about the most recent winning projects, get an update on previous year's progress, and learn about how to contribute to two projects directly from the developers.

Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSC) are community-based groups for students interested in learning and applying technology to solve real-world problems. These clubs are officially recognized and supported by Google, and they operate on college and university campuses around the world. GDSCs aim to create an environment where students can collaborate, learn, and develop technical skills, all while contributing to their local and global communities. Here is a detailed description of Google Developer Student Clubs:
Student-Led Communities: GDSCs are primarily student-led organizations. Student leaders, often called "leads" or "ambassadors," are responsible for organizing events, workshops, and activities related to technology and development. These leaders serve as a bridge between their peers and Google technologies.
Diverse Interests: GDSCs are open to students from various academic backgrounds and skill levels. Whether a student is pursuing a degree in computer science, engineering, business, or any other field, they are welcome to participate. This diversity of interests and backgrounds often leads to rich and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Access to Google Resources: One of the significant benefits of being a GDSC is access to Google resources and support. Google provides educational materials, technology credits, swag, and access to Google Developer Experts to help GDSCs organize events and workshops.
Technical Workshops: GDSCs regularly organize technical workshops and hands-on coding sessions. These workshops cover a wide range of topics, such as web development, mobile app development, machine learning, cloud computing, and more. These activities help students gain practical skills and stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends.
Hackathons and Projects: Many GDSCs host hackathons, coding competitions, and collaborative projects. These events provide opportunities for students to apply their knowledge to real-world problems, build innovative solutions, and compete with their peers.
Networking Opportunities: GDSCs facilitate networking among students, industry professionals, and Google employees. This allows students to connect with potential mentors, internship opportunities, and job prospects in the tech industry.
Community Outreach: GDSCs are often involved in community outreach initiatives. They use their technical skills to address local and global challenges, such as education, healthcare, and environmental issues. These efforts highlight the positive impact technology can have on society.
Global Community: While each GDSC is locally organized on a specific campus, there is a broader GDSC global community. Members can connect with students from other universities and participate in global initiatives organized by Google.
Learning and Growth: Beyond technical skills, GDSCs focus on personal and professional development.
We have a lot of talent here in Octalysis Prime, and each Challenge we are impressed with your work. The level of submissions by our trusted veterans is now often so high that new Primers can feel intimidated to participate.
We also noticed that we’ve been focusing on one aspect of Gamification: Brainstorming.
There are many more important aspects of human-focused design: user research, analyzing, game looping, battle-planning, visual design... After all, a good idea only yield results if it’s implemented
in the right place, for the right people, in the right way. So, we decided to do something different.
For this Challenge you will produce a concise finished deliverable.

Book Formatting: Quality Control Checks for DesignersConfidence Ago
This presentation was made to help designers who work in publishing houses or format books for printing ensure quality.
Quality control is vital to every industry. This is why every department in a company need create a method they use in ensuring quality. This, perhaps, will not only improve the quality of products and bring errors to the barest minimum, but take it to a near perfect finish.
It is beyond a moot point that a good book will somewhat be judged by its cover, but the content of the book remains king. No matter how beautiful the cover, if the quality of writing or presentation is off, that will be a reason for readers not to come back to the book or recommend it.
So, this presentation points designers to some important things that may be missed by an editor that they could eventually discover and call the attention of the editor.

Transforming Brand Perception and Boosting Profitabilityaaryangarg12
In today's digital era, the dynamics of brand perception, consumer behavior, and profitability have been profoundly reshaped by the synergy of branding, social media, and website design. This research paper investigates the transformative power of these elements in influencing how individuals perceive brands and products and how this transformation can be harnessed to drive sales and profitability for businesses.
Through an exploration of brand psychology and consumer behavior, this study sheds light on the intricate ways in which effective branding strategies, strategic social media engagement, and user-centric website design contribute to altering consumers' perceptions. We delve into the principles that underlie successful brand transformations, examining how visual identity, messaging, and storytelling can captivate and resonate with target audiences.
Methodologically, this research employs a comprehensive approach, combining qualitative and quantitative analyses. Real-world case studies illustrate the impact of branding, social media campaigns, and website redesigns on consumer perception, sales figures, and profitability. We assess the various metrics, including brand awareness, customer engagement, conversion rates, and revenue growth, to measure the effectiveness of these strategies.
The results underscore the pivotal role of cohesive branding, social media influence, and website usability in shaping positive brand perceptions, influencing consumer decisions, and ultimately bolstering sales and profitability. This paper provides actionable insights and strategic recommendations for businesses seeking to leverage branding, social media, and website design as potent tools to enhance their market position and financial success.
