Desert
•   There are both hot and cold deserts.
•   Hot deserts get ten or less inches of rain a year.
•   Cold deserts get snow and fog.
•   The Great Basin is a cold desert.
•   The Sahara is the one of the largest deserts in
    the world.

Rainforest
• There are two types of rainforests: temperate
  and tropical.
• Both are endangered.
• Located around the coasts in the temperate zone,
  and the equator in the tropical zone.

Taiga
• Cold winters, warm summers.
• The largest biome.
• Located in a large portion of Canada, Europe,
  and Asia.

Tundra
• Very cold.
• A permanent layer of permafrost rests below a
  thin layer of tundra soil, keeping plants from
  growing.
• Located at the North Pole.

Grasslands
• Very open fields with lots and lots of grass and
  not much else.
• There are tropical grasslands and temperate
  grasslands.
• Tropical grasslands are located close to the
  equator and temperate grasslands away from
  the equator.

• Has four seasons: winter, spring, summer, and
  fall.
• Animals and plants adapt to cope with the
  frequent season changes.
• Located in the United States, Europe, parts of
  Russia, China, and Japan.
