Eight different laminated shapes
Teaching aims
 The children should be able to identify a lot of different shapes.
 They should know how the shapes look like.
 Finally, they should find the correct picture when they hear the name of the
shape.

Procedure
First I show the pictures of the shapes. I tell them the names of the shapes and the
children should repeat them all together. When I am quite sure that everybody knows
the correct names, I hand out the BINGO sheet. On the sheet they can see all the
shapes they’ve learned before. I tell them to cross out three of the shapes on the
sheet. I start telling different shapes but without showing the pictures to the kids. If
they hear the word they should cross out the right shape on the sheet. The first who
has crossed out all the shapes is the winner. If we play it a second time, it is
necessary to use a pen with another colour so that you know which shape you’ve
crossed out in this game.
You can also hand out nine squares for each child so that they can cover the shapes
with it and need not cross it out. It is better because you can use the same sheet
more often!
