2) Mrs. Mc Gonagal, what are you cooking?
Children´s language
- Mrs. Mc Gonagal, what are you cooking.
- I´m cooking three big apples, bananas, pears
- I´m cooking little children.
Teacher´s language
- Let´s play a game.
- Who knows the game “Mrs. Mc Gonagal, what are you cooking?”
- Can you remember, can you explain it to the others?
- I need a helper.
- Ok, you are Mrs. Mc Gonagal.
- You stand behind the line and answer the questions.
- If Mrs. Mc Gonagal says: “I´m cooking three big apples.” All the others have to make 3 big
steps forward.
Teaching aims
The children should be able to name some fruit.
The cildren should be able to use easy questions and answers.
The cildren should be able to react quickly.
The children should be able to develop their vocabulary.
Procedure
Ok, Let´s play the game: “What are you cooking, Mrs. Mc Gonagal?”. I need a helper. Right
Maria, you are Mrs. Mc Gonagal. You stand behind the line. All the others are standing in
front of you behind the line. Now they ask: “What are you cooking, Mrs. Mc Gonagal?”. You
answer the question like that: “I am cooking three big apples.” All the others have to make
three big steps forward. If Mrs. Mc Gonagal says: “I´m cooking little children”. All the others
have to run to the other side. Mrs. Mc Gonagal, you have to catch them. If somebody gets
caught he/ she helps Mrs. Mc Gonagal with the cooking.
Ok? Any questions? Let´s go.
