God created the heavens, earth, plants, animals, man and woman over six days according to the biblical account in Genesis. Each day of creation is described in detail. On the sixth day, God created man and woman and gave them dominion over the earth. The seventh day God rested. The document discusses observations from Genesis such as man being created after other animals, in God's image, and given command to multiply. It also addresses questions about the age of the earth and interpretation of "days" in Genesis.

Lesson 2. Earth’s Bounty eco tourism management
Earth's bounty refers to the abundance and diversity of natural resources, including plants, animals, minerals, water, and air, that sustain life on the planet.
It encompasses the intricate web of ecosystems and biodiversity that support ecological balance and provide essential goods and services to humanity.
The social and cultural importance of nature and natural resources in various societies and civilizations is included in the concept of Earth's bounty.
Cultural and Sociological Perspective: It encompasses customs, knowledge systems, cultural beliefs, and behaviors pertaining to food, agriculture, land use, and environmental preservation.
Biodiversity
The term biodiversity (from “biological diversity”) refers to the variety of life on Earth at all its levels, from genes to ecosystems, and can encompass the evolutionary, ecological, and cultural processes that sustain life.
At the Center for Biodiversity and Conservation, we include humans and human cultural diversity as a part of biodiversity.
Biocultural- the dynamic, continually evolving and interconnected nature of people and place, and the notion that social and biological dimensions are interrelated.

Genesis:creation
1 In the beginning God created heaven and earth.
2 Now the earth was a formless void, there was darkness over the deep, with a divine wind sweeping over the waters.
3 God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light.
4 God saw that light was good, and God divided light from darkness.
5 God called light 'day', and darkness he called 'night'. Evening came and morning came: the first day.
6 God said, 'Let there be a vault through the middle of the waters to divide the waters in two.' And so it was.
7 God made the vault, and it divided the waters under the vault from the waters above the vault.
8 God called the vault 'heaven'. Evening came and morning came: the second day.
Genesis in relation to Ecotourism
Stewardship of Creation: According to Genesis, God gives humans authority over the planet and all of its inhabitants. This may be seen as a request for careful environmental stewardship. This idea is promoted by ecotourism, which encourages visitors to respect and protect wildlife, natural habitats, and regional cultures.
Appreciation for Nature's Beauty: Genesis portrays the world as a masterpiece of God's creation, emphasizing its beauty and diversity. Similarly, ecotourism encourages travelers to appreciate the natural beauty of destinations they visit, fostering a deeper connection with the environment and a desire to conserve it for future generations. Genesis emphasizes the diversity and beauty of nature, showing it as a maste
Science and Faith - The Anthropic Principle: Humanity at the centre of the un...Gospel Conversations
In this second talk of the Science and Faith series Ron Winestock moves on to the topic of cosmology - ie what is the origin of the universe. This is mind boggling stuff and dwarfs the more conventional 'evolution' debates. He explains the anthropic principle that is fast emerging among scientists and which is ironically putting this little old earth back at the centre of attention. He describes the earth as the ark of humanity - a wonder of life in the midst of a barren universe. He contrasts the scientific view of cosmology with the Jewish view. Listen for some of the great discussion here - particularly as we develop the metaphor of the car to explain all of this.
In this first talk in the Science and Faith series Ron Winestock confronts the question, "How well does Genesis 1 fit in with the new science?" Most people wonder whether Genesis fits with evolution, but Ron takes a far broader view, and compares the implications of Genesis with cosmology - the theory of relativity and the origins of the universe. He concludes that Genesis is surprisingly modern, although it does not try to be a science text book. Then he compares the whole secular and Greek view of reality with its great rival the Jewish tradition - a topic he will develop in his next talk.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

4. Questions
• When did God create the Angels & heavenly beings?
• When did Satan fall?
• On their day of creation…
• Did God create plants and animals fully grown?
• Did God create more than 1 pair of each animal?
• Did created things show signs of aging? Would trees have rings when created?
• Did God give animals “instinctive” knowledge?
• Did God give humans “advanced” knowledge?
• How can we see light from stars that are billions of light years away?
• How old is the Earth? The sun? The moon? The stars?
• Was it really possible for people to live nearly 1000 years?
• Why did God create many creatures that He then allowed to go extinct?
5. Questions
• How many ice ages have we had?
• What caused the ice age(s)?
• Where did all the water come from for the flood?
• How could all the animals fit on the ark?
• Where is Noah’s ark?
• What happened to dinosaurs & other “pre-historic” creatures?
• How could a man survive 3 days in a fish?
• God told Abraham his descendants would be as many as the stars in the sky or sand
on the seashore. Was God being literal?
• How many generations of his ancestors were still alive when Abram was born?
6. Uniformitarianism
• The assumption that the same natural laws and processes
that operate in the universe now have always operated in the
universe in the past and apply everywhere in the universe.
• It refers to invariance in the metaphysical principles
underpinning science
• the constancy of causal structure throughout space-time,
• has also been used to describe spatiotemporal invariance
of physical laws.
• Unprovable - cannot be verified using the scientific method
• Is been a key basis of virtually all fields of science
• In geology, uniformitarianism has included the concept that
"the present is the key to the past" and rates observed today
have always occurred at the same rates
• Many modern geologists no longer hold to a strict
gradualism.
7. Uniformitarianism
• For most of us, seeing is believing.
• Therefore, uniformitarianism is more believable than some
other system
• John 20:24-25 (NASB) 24 But Thomas, one of the twelve,
called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 So
the other disciples were saying to him, "We have seen the
Lord!" But he said to them, "Unless I see in His hands the
imprint of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the
nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe."
26 After eight days His disciples were again inside, and
Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors having been shut,
and stood in their midst and said, "Peace be with you."
27 Then He said to Thomas, "Reach here with your finger, and
see My hands; and reach here your hand and put it into My
side; and do not be unbelieving, but believing." 28 Thomas
answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!" 29 Jesus
said to him, "Because you have seen Me, have you believed?
Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed."
8. Catastrophism
• The theory that the Earth has been affected in the past
by sudden, short-lived, violent events, possibly
worldwide in scope.
• Geological epochs often ended with violent and sudden
natural catastrophes such as great floods, rapid tectonic
plate movement, and the rapid formation of major
mountain chains.
• Plants and animals living in the parts of the world where
such events occurred were killed off, being replaced
abruptly by the new forms whose fossils defined the
geological strata.
• Today, the scientific consensus accepts a more
combined view accepting that there were some
catastrophic events in the geologic past, but these were
explicable as extreme examples of natural processes
which can occur.
9. Biblical Creation – Day 1
Genesis 1:1-5 (NASB)
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over
the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving
over the surface of the waters.
3 Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light.
4 God saw that the light was good; and God separated the
light from the darkness.
5 God called the light day, and the darkness He called night.
And there was evening and there was morning, one day.
What was Created?
1. The heavens and the
earth.
2. Light.
3. Separation of light from
darkness.
4. Day and night and the
time of a day.
10. Biblical Creation – Day 2
Genesis 1:6-8 (NASB)
6 Then God said, "Let there be an expanse in the midst of
the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters."
7 God made the expanse, and separated the waters which
were below the expanse from the waters which were above
the expanse; and it was so.
8 God called the expanse heaven. And there was evening
and there was morning, a second day.
What was Created?
1. An expanse.
2. Separation of the waters
below and above the
expanse
11. Biblical Creation – Day 3
Genesis 1:9-13 (NASB)
9 Then God said, "Let the waters below the heavens be
gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear"; and it
was so.
10 God called the dry land earth, and the gathering of the
waters He called seas; and God saw that it was good.
11 Then God said, "Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants
yielding seed, and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit after
their kind with seed in them"; and it was so.
12 The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed
after their kind, and trees bearing fruit with seed in them,
after their kind; and God saw that it was good.
13 There was evening and there was morning, a third day.
What was Created?
1. Dry land/earth.
2. Vegetation on the earth.
3. Ability for vegetation to
reproduce
12. Biblical Creation – Day 4
Genesis 1:14-19 (NASB)
14 Then God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the
heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be
for signs and for seasons and for days and years;
15 and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens
to give light on the earth"; and it was so.
16 God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern
the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made
the stars also.
17 God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give
light on the earth,
18 and to govern the day and the night, and to separate the
light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good.
19 There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.
What was Created?
1. Stars & galaxies
2. Sun
3. Moon
13. Biblical Creation – Day 5
Genesis 1:20-23 (NASB)
20 Then God said, "Let the waters teem with swarms of
living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open
expanse of the heavens."
21 God created the great sea monsters and every living
creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed after
their kind, and every winged bird after its kind; and God saw
that it was good.
22 God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply, and
fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the
earth."
23 There was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.
What was Created?
1. All water creatures
• Fish
• Great sea monsters
2. Birds
3. Ability for water
creatures and birds to
reproduce
14.
15. Biblical Creation – Day 6
Genesis 1:24-31 (NASB)
24 Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth living creatures
after their kind: cattle and creeping things and beasts of the
earth after their kind"; and it was so.
25 God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and
the cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps on the
ground after its kind; and God saw that it was good.
26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according
to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea
and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all
the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the
earth."
27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God
He created him; male and female He created them.
16. Biblical Creation – Day 6
Genesis 1:24-31 (NASB)
28 God blessed them; and God said to them, "Be fruitful and
multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the
fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every
living thing that moves on the earth."
29 Then God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant
yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every
tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you;
30 and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky
and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I
have given every green plant for food"; and it was so.
31 God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very
good. And there was evening and there was morning, the
sixth day.
What was Created?
1. All land creatures
• Cattle
• Creeping things
• Beasts
2. 2 humans
• Adam
• Eve
• Made in the image of God
• Given dominion over all
creatures of the earth
3. Ability for humans to
reproduce
17. Observations from Genesis 1
1. God first created the heavens and the earth – before any other celestial
bodies, thus the earth is older than the sun, moon, and stars
2. Light existed before the sun, moon, and stars were created
3. God immediately established a 24 hour day
4. God separated some large volume of waters on day 2 above and below
the heavens – reserved for the flood
5. God created plants before any animal, with full reproductive capability
6. The sun, moon, and stars were created on Day 4
• The stars were created “for signs and for seasons and for days and years”
• The sun and the moon were created “to give light on the earth, and to govern the
day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness”
18. Observations from Genesis 1
7. God sea creatures and birds on the same day (day 5), both before land
animals and humans
8. Birds were given the ability to fly at their creation
9. Light existed before the sun, moon, and stars
10. The land animals, including dinosaurs and cattle, and all creeping things
were created on Day 6, before humans, but on the same day
11. Man was uniquely created in God’s image and given dominion over the
earth and all living things
12. God commanded man to “be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and
subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky
and over every living thing that moves on the earth.“
13. Humans and animals were vegans in the beginning
19. What is a day?
• “Yom” is the Hebrew word used for day
• Many argue this word can be used to mean a long period of time
• 2 Peter 3:8 (NASB) 8 But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that
with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.
• Many also argue about the grammatical structure of Genesis 1, claiming
that it is not intended to be literal, but is a poetic introduction
• However, the context of Genesis 1 repeated says there is evening and
morning – the first…second…third…fourth…fifth…sixth day
• Exodus 20:11 (NASB) 11 "For in six days the LORD made the heavens and
the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day;
therefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day and made it holy.
20. Biblical Creation – Genesis 2
Genesis 2:1-25 (NASB)
1 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts.
2 By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He
rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.
3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested
from all His work which God had created and made.
4 This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created,
in the day that the LORD God made earth and heaven.
5 Now no shrub of the field was yet in the earth, and no plant of the field
had yet sprouted, for the LORD God had not sent rain upon the earth, and
there was no man to cultivate the ground.
6 But a mist used to rise from the earth and water the whole surface of the
ground.
21. Biblical Creation – Genesis 2
Genesis 2:1-25 (NASB)
7 Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed
into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
8 The LORD God planted a garden toward the east, in Eden; and there He
placed the man whom He had formed.
9 Out of the ground the LORD God caused to grow every tree that is pleasing
to the sight and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden,
and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
10 Now a river flowed out of Eden to water the garden; and from there it
divided and became four rivers.
11 The name of the first is Pishon; it flows around the whole land of Havilah,
where there is gold.
12 The gold of that land is good; the bdellium and the onyx stone are there.
13 The name of the second river is Gihon; it flows around the whole land of
Cush.
14 The name of the third river is Tigris; it flows east of Assyria. And the fourth
river is the Euphrates.
22. Biblical Creation – Genesis 2
Genesis 2:1-25 (NASB)
15 Then the LORD God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to
cultivate it and keep it.
16 The LORD God commanded the man, saying, "From any tree of the garden
you may eat freely;
17 but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for
in the day that you eat from it you will surely die."
18 Then the LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone; I will
make him a helper suitable for him."
19 Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every
bird of the sky, and brought them to the man to see what he would call
them; and whatever the man called a living creature, that was its name.
20 The man gave names to all the cattle, and to the birds of the sky, and to
every beast of the field, but for Adam there was not found a helper suitable
for him.
23. Biblical Creation – Genesis 2
Genesis 2:1-25 (NASB)
21 So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept;
then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place.
22 The LORD God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from
the man, and brought her to the man.
23 The man said, "This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh; She
shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man."
24 For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined
to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.
25 And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.
24. Observations from Genesis 2
1. God finished his creation work in 6 days and rested on the 7th day
2. God blessed and sanctified the 7th day
3. It did not rain in the early days. God caused a mist to rise up and water the
whole surface of the ground
4. God formed man and beasts and bird from the dust of the ground
5. God planted the garden of Eden and put Adam there
6. The Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil were also in Eden
7. A river flowed from Eden and divided into 4 rivers
8. Adam was put into Eden to cultivate and keep the garden
9. God commanded man to not eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil
10. God brought animals, birds and beasts to Adam for naming
11. Eve was made from Adams rib, after the Lord put Adam into a deep sleep
12. Adam was given an understanding of language upon creation
25. Observations from Genesis 2
13. Adam and Eve were created on the same day
14. Eve was created after Adam, from Adam
15. God directed that man and woman would become one flesh when married
16. There was no shame in nakedness before man had knowledge of good and evil
26. Genesis 3
Genesis 3:1-24 (NASB)
1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the LORD God
had made. And he said to the woman, "Indeed, has God said, 'You shall not eat
from any tree of the garden'?"
2 The woman said to the serpent, "From the fruit of the trees of the garden we may
eat;
3 but from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said,
'You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die.'"
4 The serpent said to the woman, "You surely will not die!
5 "For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you
will be like God, knowing good and evil."
6 When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight
to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its
fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.
27. Genesis 3
Genesis 3:1-24 (NASB)
7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were
naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings.
8 They heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the
day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God
among the trees of the garden.
9 Then the LORD God called to the man, and said to him, "Where are you?"
10 He said, "I heard the sound of You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was
naked; so I hid myself."
11 And He said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree
of which I commanded you not to eat?"
12 The man said, "The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me from the
tree, and I ate."
13 Then the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" And the
woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."
28. Genesis 3
Genesis 3:1-24 (NASB)
14 The LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, Cursed are you
more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you will
go, And dust you will eat All the days of your life;
15 And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and
her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel."
16 To the woman He said, "I will greatly multiply Your pain in childbirth, In pain you
will bring forth children; Yet your desire will be for your husband, And he will rule
over you."
17 Then to Adam He said, "Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and
have eaten from the tree about which I commanded you, saying, 'You shall not eat
from it'; Cursed is the ground because of you; In toil you will eat of it All the days of
your life.
29. Genesis 3
Genesis 3:1-24 (NASB)
18 "Both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you; And you will eat the plants of the
field;
19 By the sweat of your face You will eat bread, Till you return to the ground,
Because from it you were taken; For you are dust, And to dust you shall return."
20 Now the man called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all the
living.
21 The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them.
22 Then the LORD God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing
good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree
of life, and eat, and live forever"—
23 therefore the LORD God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to cultivate the
ground from which he was taken.
24 So He drove the man out; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the
cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to
the tree of life.
30. Observations from Genesis 3
1. The serpent was more crafty than any beast in the field
2. The serpent could speak and was a liar from the beginning
3. The woman did not repeat the exact restriction the God gave
4. Satan used a sense of injustice as a motivation for sin
5. The fruit looked very good - “a delight to the eyes”
6. Satan influenced Eve to sin
7. Eve influenced Adam to sin
8. Adam heard the command directly from God, yet still sinned
9. God used to walk in the garden with Adam and Eve
10. Men use blame to deflect his sin before women
11. Women immediately following in the use of blame
31. Observations from Genesis 3
12. The serpent did not originally crawl on its belly. It must have walked or flown
13. God put enmity between the woman and the serpent, and between the
children of God (Christ) and the children of Satan
14. Genesis 3 provides the first prophecy of Christ
15. Because of sin, women were cursed to have greater pain in childbearing, and to
be led by men

part of the curse
17. God made them garments from animal skins – the sacrificial system began
18. God expelled mankind from the Eden, so they could not eat from the tree of
life
33. Conclusions
• All scientists begin their science with the world view in mind
• The order of creation events was:
• Day 1 – heavens & the earth were created, light created, light and darkness
separated, time of a day established
• Day 2 – waters were separated by and expanse
• Day 3 – dry land created, vegetation created
• Day 4 – sun, moon, stars created
• Day 5 – sea creatures and birds created
• Day 6 – land animals, creeping things, and man & woman created
• Day 7 – God rested
• The best interpretation of “yom” is a 24 hour period
34. Conclusions
• Catastrophism better explains much of what we see than
uniformitarianism
• Evolution falls apart as explanations of creation events
• Evolution does not have an answer for the creation of the universe
• Evolution does not have an answer for the creation of life
• The order of creation events does not support the order of supposed
evolution events
• Creation in 6 x 24-hour days is not significant for an omnipotent God
• When science appears to contradict creationism, the error will lie in
the science
35. Application
• As creation believers, we must simply trust God
• When debating atheists/evolutionists
• Errors in evolutionary conclusions will be found in the details/interpretation
of the evidence
• Creationists should focus first on creation events, but can also win debates on
conclusions regarding evidence by looking at the details of the evidence
• Some things are not easily explainable by either side
• When in doubt, look closer at the evidence
