This document provides an overview and introduction to an online Bible study series on dealing with difficult emotions. The series aims to teach how to embrace God's power through the Holy Spirit to overcome anxiety, anger, depression, frustration, and feelings of powerlessness. The introduction focuses on anger, distinguishing between righteous and unrighteous anger. It provides biblical examples and practical tips for controlling anger, including developing listening skills, being slow to speak, understanding other perspectives, and considering consequences before reacting. Participants are encouraged to reflect on passages about anger and discuss how to allow the Holy Spirit's power over their own anger.
John 3:1-5. A New Life In Christ. In the new life we have been born again. In the new life we are a new creation. In the new life we crucify the flesh with its passions and desires. In the new life we are transformed by the renewing of our minds. In the new life we are renewed by the Holy Spirit. In the new life we are dead to sin but alive to God. In the new life we are washed from our sins. in the new life we put to death the old man and put on the new man. In the new life we died and our life is hidden with Christ in God. In the new life we were brought back from death in sin.
(Hebrews 11:1-40; James 2:14-24; Romans 4:13-25) The Bible speaks of different kinds of faith. There is only one kind of faith that saves us. The only viable faith is the faith that obeys God! — What KIND of FAITH did Abraham Have? — What kind of FAITH do you have? — AUDIO / PPT / KEYNOTE / PDF - 2/19/2017

It's hard for most people to grasp the concept of being a slave. Most would deny that they are servants. But the reality is that we are all slaves/servants to something. If one is honest with himself He'll admit that he is in bondage to his job, to a location where he lives, to a bad marriage, to a sick and dying body and most of all to sin. Paul speaks in the context to the Roman empire where the majority of his listeners are servants. You may not be this kind of a servant, but the principles are still applicable to employees, students and even children. Jesus did not come to rule but to serve. We are to do the same.
It is common to refer to the process of maturing as a disciple as spiritual formation. Here, based upon work by Greg Ogden, I give a four stage process for growing into maturity, and fruitfulness, as a follower of King Jesus.
Being transformed in your mind (Romans12) means rethinking your self image. Those who have placed their trust in Jesus are in Christ. This is a fundamental change. Our identity is now who we are in Christ. The New testament has many descriptions of who we are in Christ and we need to live on the basis of these statements and not by what the world tells us were are or should be.
The word ‘grace’ is not always used in the same sense as in the bible. If you look up grace in the dictionary you will see that there are multiple meanings. Divine grace in particular is often misunderstood & misinterpreted by people. This presentation will clarify exactly what God’s grace is and how it is pertinent to our salvation.
Tomorrow we are starting a new series of study:
“The New Man” is a seminar that will focus on the spirit of man, its soul and its body.
We will learn the properties of each one of these three parts of man.
Our spirit is called to be the ruling part of us, actually, our spirit is the main part of our being, and is the place where the spirit of God dwells in.
We meet in Room #3 at CTF Toronto Wednesdays from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. I invite you to come and participate with us in this discovery of how to let our spirit become the ruler of our life.
Trust in the LORD with ALL Your Hear | Proverbs 3:5-6; 1:7, 21:2 Bible StudyDanny Scotton, Jr.
The fear of the LORD is the foundation of true knowledge and wisdom. We must acknowledge that we creatures lack the knowledge and wisdom of the Creator. Thus, it only makes sense to follow the Creator of life’s instructions for life. We are to trust in the LORD entirely and exclusively, not in our feeble understanding. In everything we do, we are to submit to Him, and He will make our paths straight (morally). Let us not rely on our own moral compass and ethical judgments, for it is the LORD who is the ultimate Judge.

Hot or Cold: ✔ | Lukewarm: ✖ | Revelation 3:14-22 Bible StudyDanny Scotton, Jr.
How do you like your coffee? Many like coffee hot. Many like coffee cold (e.g, iced coffee). Yet, I suspect very few enjoy it lukewarm. If tasted, many might even spit room temperature coffee out of their mouths...[note]Illustration from the movie War Room (see clip below)[/note]
Ancient Laodicea was near Hierapolis, which boasted healing hot springs, and Colossae which boasted a refreshing cold spring. But Laodicea, which had to pipe in their water via aqueduct, was known for its disgusting, lukewarm water. It made people sick.
Using imagery that would that would emphatically hit home (Rev 3:15-16), Jesus essentially tells the church at Laodicea that, just like their water, their lukewarmth makes Him sick. He wishes that they were useful like hot water or cold water -- but they are useless.
After lovingly admonishing them to repent (Rev 3:19), He says He stands outside (of His own church!) metaphorically knocking on the door. If anyone lets Him (back!) in, He says He will fellowship with them in the present, and reign with them in the future.
In this lesson we define sin and show how sin develops. We ask and answer "why we choose to sin?" Finally we show how to overcome sin. Both audio and slides can be found together at www.cmcoc.org

This is an overview of some of the main points of what is being called a "hyper-grace" theology. It powerful truths that are out of balance with other parts of scripture. Hyper-grace theology can help people in some ways by emphasizing the incredible love and grace of God. Hyper-grace theology can also confuse and damage people because it seems to ignore the clear commands of the Bible to avoid sin, confess sins and "work out their salvation in fear and trembling" motivated and empowered by the love and grace of God.
Pray that the teachers of hyper-grace theology will find a biblically balanced way to help people encounter the most gracious, kind, generous, loving, compassionate Person the universe who also holds us accountable for how we live and will discipline us in love as a wise Father to bring us back to safety within godly living.
This is a wonderful healing ministry of Jesus that any of us can do with a little training and practice. Billions of people need this. You could help them! No doctor or scientist could do what a Christian can do to deliver people from demons that make them miserable. What a privilege to imitate Jesus in this ministry of His! The sermon slides are below.
Also, here are some really good video's the Lord led me to on YouTube where a guy confronts demons in people on the street while preaching. He delivers one guy on camera ( The guy spits up a little. sometimes happens when a demon comes out--not too gross).
I recommend you watch these to get a quick overview of what happens when demons feel threatened and when we shine the light of jesus on them to set people free.

David is undoubtedly a prominent biblical character. He defeated the giant Goliath. He was promised to always have a king on the throne. The Messiah was to come through his descendants. He is the “sweet Psalmist” of Israel.
Many lessons can be learned from David’s life, including a negative one regarding his sin with Bathsheba.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

Text: God's Power to Help Hurting People, Publisher: Urban Ministries (c)2003; Editor: Dr. Colleen
Birchett;

4. Introduction and Summary
In John 16:33 Jesus said, “I have told you these things, so that in Me you
may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have
tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good
cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I
have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have
conquered it for you.]” (AMP)
There’s absolutely nothing that can overtake us if we put our TOTAL trust and
confidence in Him and obey the Word.
Consequently, these lessons are designed to teach you how to embrace the
power of God that’s available in the Person of the Holy Spirit. He will empower
you to handle and overcome anxiety, anger, depression, frustration, and feeling
powerless during this economic downturn.
The truth is what Jesus told His disciples over 2000 years ago are applicable
today. Do you believe it? Do you want help? Would like to experience the
compassion of the One who created you in His image and likeness?
If so, you’re at a good place to begin the healing process. We’ll focus on six (6)
emotions that are most common during stressful and challenging times. It is my
prayer that you receive the encouragement for which this series is purposed.
5. God’s Power over Anger
James 1:19-20; Ephesians 4:26-27; Proverbs 14:29
Anger is a strong feeling of displeasure. It is an advanced
stage of frustration. It is a deep-seated feeling of being out
of control and unable to cope. Anger is the emotion that
can result from feeling powerless, and being frustrated. If
not dealt with properly, or controlled by the power of Good,
anger results in outbursts and is acted out in violent
behavior and even criminal and destructive conduct.
6. POSITIVE / WISE PERSON NEGATIVE /FOOLISH PERSON
Righteous anger
Unrighteous anger
reflects God’s promotes self interests
perspective.
It protects self interest
It reflects God’s hatred
It reflects evil and
of evil and sin
inappropriate behavior
It reflects God’s love for
justice.
TWO TYPES OF ANGER
7. God’s Power over Anger , cont’d…
There are various reasons this emotion can surface, i.e.,
life’s circumstances, unpleasant situations and
conditions, relationships issues, financial matters,
etc.
Anger is a God-given emotion that can motivate us to
reflect the “heart” of God and take a stand against
opposition and carry out Kingdom assignments as His
representatives in the Earth.
Example of righteous anger: Jesus in Mark 11:15-17,
John 2:13-16. This was a demonstration of righteous
anger because “money changers” actions and conduct
were contrary to God’s plan and purpose for the Temple.
Therefore, it made Jesus angry to see this inappropriate
behavior in God’s designated place of reverence that
represented His presence and holiness.
8. God’s Power over Anger, cont’d…
Distinguishing the difference…
For “faith talking” believing and practicing Christians
,ask yourself the following questions:
1. Am I a person with understanding or am I a foolish
person? I choose to determine the kind of person I
am by my actions. (Ref. Proverbs 14:29)
2. Am I a “doer” of the Word, or a hearer only?
3. Do I want to give the devil a foothold, and allow my
emotions to control? (Ref. Eph. 4:26-27).
9. God’s Power over Anger, cont’d… (James 1:19-20)
Practical tips for controlling anger
1. Practice and develop good listening skills
2. Learn to be quiet (be slow to speak; take
deep breaths)
3. STOP! Think! Try to understand the other
person’s perspective
4. STOP! Think! Consider the consequences
if you react or respond in anger.
10. REVIEW AND DISCUSSION
1. Meditate on Proverbs 14:29, Proverbs 15:1,
and James 1:19-20.
2. Do you get angry easily? Is it righteous or
unrighteous anger? Be honest with yourself.
Ask God to reveal the truth to you about
yourself.
3. People often justify their anger by quoting
Ephesians 4:26-27, “Be angry, but do not sin.”
However, they often let the sun go down while
they’re still angry. Give this verse some thought.
Let the power of the Holy Spirit give you insight.
11. ACTION
Read 2 Samuel 13 (the story of Absalom’s anger toward his
brother Amnon for raping their sister, Tamar). Was Absalom’s
anger justified to point of murder ?
PRAYER:
Father, thank you for being concerned about every area of
my life because it’s your desire for me to represent you well
in the earth. I confess that sometimes I don’t because of
my unrighteous anger to control my thoughts and actions. I
want to change. Forgive me. Help me to allow your Holy
Spirit to empower me so that I can experience your power
over anger. In Jesus’ name I pray. I believe; I receive.
Amen.
