Builders Finance Fund
The Builders Finance Fund is £525m for schemes between 5 and 250 homes
Bids for schemes for between 5 and 14 homes are accepted from small and medium
enterprises only (SME)
Funding will be made available to accelerate or unlock viable housing schemes
Funding is available as a recoverable loan
Scheme design will be determined through the planning process and local housing need
Benefits:
Helps to bring forward stalled but viable
sites by sharing risk
Addresses difficulties in accessing
development finance faced by some
house builders and developers
Focuses on unlocking deliverable
projects which can start or re-start
quickly
Eligibility:
Schemes must be building between
5 and 250 new homes
For bids that are between 5-14 homes in
size the fund will be exclusive to SME’s
only
Bids must be submitted by a private sector
developer who must have control of the
site
There is a minimum investment of £200k
The site must have local authority
support
Schemes must have planning consent
and be capable of within 9 months from
the initial Expression of Interest
submission
