Beyond the lean canvas
1. Beyond the Lean Canvas

Value Proposition Canvas: Osterwalder's new-ish Value Proposition Canvas:

It is simply not enough to pick up the Business Model Canvas and play with it. It is so, so easy
to use and terribly hard to use well. One frequent problem area is truly understanding value
propositions. Alex’s VPC is a useful tool to move forward!
Also look at these slides from 2013 NACCE, VPC starts at Slides 51+ =>

[p.s. Interested in ecosystem-building? You’ll see other brilliant stuff. All are very hard work but…]

...still more lean tools!
Another critical problem area is that we are not very scientific about what hypotheses to
test in our nascent biz model… It is imperative to be brutally, ruthlessly rigorous in validating:

Trevor is a good guy & really wants to do his LSM here. Nick Yates is keen to do LSM here too.
But to be rigorous you need to be badass at designing/executing your experiments:

Design Thinking Coolness!
D-Thinking from Stanford’s D School courtesy of THE guru, Tina Seelig. Why do so many folks
claim to be good at design thinking but are only good at winging it? Learn from the BEST!

Stanford's 90-minute virtual crash course in design thinking.
Available here: http://dschool.stanford.edu/dgift/
[Tina, et al. often do their Design Thinking/Entrep Creativity course online - free & you can team
up with people all over! Mind-blowing. There’s also course from Aalto but it’s in Finnish ;) ]
finally MORE lean goodness... if you want a quick overview
