Overview
As a UX designer, you are the de facto champion of the people who use your product — heck, the word “user” is part of your title. And to create the best product experience for your users, you need to get everyone on your team thinking like UX designers too. Because the more people on your team who understand UX principles and empathize with the user’s needs, the more effective your product will be. And the more you understand the other disciplines you work with and bring them into your process, the smarter and faster you’ll be able to design.
Objective
We’ll cover collaborative techniques to involve your team (from stakeholders to developers) in the UX process, and learn how collaboration can build a culture of ownership, trust, and empathy on your team.
Target Audience
UI/UX designers, product designers, front-end developers
Things Audience Members Will Learn
Why collaboration is da bomb
How to reduce the burden of documentation so you can work faster and more efficiently
How to empower stakeholders and developers to make informed product decisions
Techniques to better understand strategic/technical limitations and opportunities

It's often unclear what tracks are available to people in technical careers such as designers, engineers, and product managers within any size organization. The path chosen by many is the management track, but what if you want to stay technical? Are there alternatives?
In this talk, you'll learn:
• What to think about when you're evaluating the choice between pursuing a management vs a technical track
• The opportunities that are available to you if you choose to go down a technical track, what the day-to-day will be like, and how to prepare for this path
We all know that the role of the Product Owner is absolutely critical to the success of the entire project. However, as service providers, we often have to accept what we get from the client’s side and try to do our best.
In this session I will outline some painful mistakes of the PO and offer some solutions on how to deal with them. If your daily work includes communication with the clients’ PO, then I hope that you will find some useful insights in this session.
Are you a CTO in a company based in Jakarta? Join our group and share your knowledge and tips with colleagues!
We hold regular meetings where CTOs will present their latest progress, tech stack and share their day to day experience including, but not limited to, recruiting process, salaries, tech profiles, agile methodologies, architecture, design patterns etc!
Our Meetups typically last 1 hour and are followed by a networking session, in accordance to this format:
• Keynote Talk (~20 minutes): a CTO from a company shares his/her experience (e.g. goals, achievements, tips, etc.)
• Product Talk / Short Talk (~10 minutes): a founder or CTO presents his/her company and product.
• Discussion (~30 minutes): a moderator (either the event organizers or a guest) will foster the discussion about relevant topics emerging from the talks or spontaneously from the audience.
• Networking (coffee / beers)
Although this event is mainly addressed to people who currently cover the role of CTO in a company, all members of the community (including, but not limited to, developers and tech enthusiasts) are more than welcome!
Empowering New Programmers Through Introductory Arduino WorkshopsHailee Kenney
This talk was presented at SeaGL 2019
"Do you remember the first time you fell in love with programming? The joy that you felt the first time you wrote some code and saw your very first “Hello World”? For some of us it was a BASIC program, for others it was a GeoCities page. Those experiences inspire us to want to learn more and explore the limits of technology. This is the kind of experience that I try to cultivate when organizing introductory programming workshops. Many beginners find learning programming intimidating and it’s our role as teachers to show them that they’re capable and help create an experience that lets them fall in love with programming.
In this talk I'll discuss some key lessons I've learned through my own experiences organizing introductory programming workshops, and give some tips on how to organize your own. I'll also discuss two introductory workshops I've organized, including a particularly successful introductory Arduino workshop that I gave to a group that had no prior programming experience. This workshop was relatively low effort but had a big impact on those that attended. It’s my hope that everyone can walk away from this talk with the tools and inspiration they need to put on a similar workshop in their own community."

Cycleviz; A CLEVER°FRANKE design conceptCLEVER°FRANKE
Our team wanted to investigate how data could be used to enhance the experience of sporting events. Using professional cycling tours as an example, we developed a design concept for a sport analytics platform that could supplement the viewers experience and participation during live events. As a first step, we imagined an iPad app that would provide real-time tracking, performance information and statistics of the cyclists during the race.
At CLEVER°FRANKE, we focus on experimenting at the intersection of design and development, challenging ourselves with emerging technologies, acquiring knowledge, developing new techniques and nurturing our curiosity.
This prototype was an exploration into a better way to visually represent streams of energy and their consumption in the home. Our prototype uses image recognition to find appliances and with Augmented Reality, visually map streams of energy and display information on their consumption and the costs associated with their use.

Transforming Brand Perception and Boosting Profitabilityaaryangarg12
In today's digital era, the dynamics of brand perception, consumer behavior, and profitability have been profoundly reshaped by the synergy of branding, social media, and website design. This research paper investigates the transformative power of these elements in influencing how individuals perceive brands and products and how this transformation can be harnessed to drive sales and profitability for businesses.
Through an exploration of brand psychology and consumer behavior, this study sheds light on the intricate ways in which effective branding strategies, strategic social media engagement, and user-centric website design contribute to altering consumers' perceptions. We delve into the principles that underlie successful brand transformations, examining how visual identity, messaging, and storytelling can captivate and resonate with target audiences.
Methodologically, this research employs a comprehensive approach, combining qualitative and quantitative analyses. Real-world case studies illustrate the impact of branding, social media campaigns, and website redesigns on consumer perception, sales figures, and profitability. We assess the various metrics, including brand awareness, customer engagement, conversion rates, and revenue growth, to measure the effectiveness of these strategies.
The results underscore the pivotal role of cohesive branding, social media influence, and website usability in shaping positive brand perceptions, influencing consumer decisions, and ultimately bolstering sales and profitability. This paper provides actionable insights and strategic recommendations for businesses seeking to leverage branding, social media, and website design as potent tools to enhance their market position and financial success.

Book Formatting: Quality Control Checks for DesignersConfidence Ago
This presentation was made to help designers who work in publishing houses or format books for printing ensure quality.
Quality control is vital to every industry. This is why every department in a company need create a method they use in ensuring quality. This, perhaps, will not only improve the quality of products and bring errors to the barest minimum, but take it to a near perfect finish.
It is beyond a moot point that a good book will somewhat be judged by its cover, but the content of the book remains king. No matter how beautiful the cover, if the quality of writing or presentation is off, that will be a reason for readers not to come back to the book or recommend it.
So, this presentation points designers to some important things that may be missed by an editor that they could eventually discover and call the attention of the editor.
