PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH SCHOOL OF MEDICINE, Pittsburgh, PA 1999-Present
Senior Curriculum Specialist/Testing Coordinator – Office of Medical Education
 Executive Chief Proctor for the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine with the National Board of
Medical Examiners (NBME).
o Conducted the pilot of the new NBME web-based exams at the School of Medicine for the
Clerkship Disciplines.
o Train faculty in the use of the NBME Customized Assessment Services test construction system
for creating customized exams.
 Create statistical reports and charts for the Vice Dean and Associate Dean outlining performance of the
examinees taking the USMLE Step 1 and 2.
 Coordinate the ordering and distribution of NBME CBSSA and CCSSA vouchers to students along with
maintenance of the score reports for each testing class.
 Provide grade reports for use in Promotions Committee meetings.
 Implemented the Mini-Elective Course Program for MS-1 and MS-2 years (34 courses).
o Work with various faculty and medical community professionals in developing and posting
course outlines for mini-electives.
o Developed a Mini-Elective catalog which provides an overview of the available courses as well
as a description and schedule for each course.
o Act as liaison between course director and medical students.
o Registrar for mini-elective courses.
o Prepare and distribute certificates of completion.
o Coordinate innovative summer Medical Spanish mini-elective course.
 Administrative Coordinator for the UPSOM Curriculum Committee.
o Annual Curriculum Colloquium: Event planner for approximately 140 School of Medicine
faculty including organizing the Call for Award Nominations and the UPSOM Teaching Awards.
o Maintain the Curriculum Committee website.
 Manage the database for the annual summative peer review program as well as the database for the
student IDs, small group assignments and pictures.
 Coordinate the small group assignments for the MS-1 and MS-2 year’s courses.
 Initiated the development and implementation of two new electronic system programs for posting online
grades and generating small group assignments.
 Project Manager for the pilot of the new digital signage/monitors throughout the School of Medicine.
 Manager of the Rosetta Stone licenses for students and faculty.
 Participated in the preparations leading up to the 2003 and 2011 LCME Accreditation process.
 Selected by the Associate Dean of Medical Education to assist the Advanced Clinical Education
Center in an administrative capacity during Director’s medical leave. Position entailed providing daily
management and continuity of operations impacting the Center. Duties included Standardized Patient
Program and Clinical Competency Assessments; understanding the utilization of standardized
patients, applying that knowledge when managing examinations, assessments, interviewing and training
