Essential Job Functions:
1. General Agency & Council of Bishop Employee & Retiree Benefit Plan Management:
Plan, development, implement and measure efficient and service oriented processes and materials that help ensure
effective employee and retiree benefit plan communication, education, enrollment, participant eligibility and claims
resolution for Council of Bishops, General Agencies, Retirees and other approved entities in the GAUMC benefits
program, which includes approximately 1,800 participants (active employees, retirees, spouses, and dependents).
3. HRIS system development and support for the GAUMC: Prepare and implement an HRIS development plan that
will provide efficient and effective services to the General Agencies. Provide user training resources and services.
Conduct regular “customer” (General Agency) surveys and system analysis to identify system efficiency &
effectiveness.
2. Agency Group Insurance Budget & Record-keeping: Monitor Agency Group Insurance budget activity and prepare
analysis and recommendations for DGS-Operations, CPPP and Council consideration. Responsible for timely,
efficient and accurate processes & implementation regarding inner-agency and retiree benefit plan billing, receipt
and record-keeping.
4. Provides support to the Deputy General Secretary regarding Committee on Personnel Policies and Practices (CPPP)
projects. Ensure proactive and objective research and development of creative and legal options for General Agency
and Committee consideration. Work collaboratively with General Agencies and CPPP in understanding and
considering various perspectives and experiences. Prepare and conduct and/or research training tools/options for
General Agencies in regards to CPPP responsibilities and programs.
5. Perform other duties as assigned by Deputy General Secretary-Operations
Major Accountabilities:
1 Ensures efficient and service-oriented processes for the GAUMC employee and retiree benefit plans that effectively
provide communication, education, enrollment and claims management.
2 Provide user friendly, collaborative and helpful services.
3 Provide accurate and stable accounting of the AGI budget. Accurate and fair claim resolution.
Job Standards:
Education Bachelor’s degree required.

Associate (GBA) certification (or equivalent) desired. Strong
knowledge Microsoft Office applications.
Experience 6-7 years of group benefit administration and service experience.
What kind and how much previous experience are needed? Basic accounting skills required due to budget maintenance.
