 It has developed from the word ‘behaviour’.
 It is the study of behaviour of an individual regarding political
scenario; i.e. how people react.
 Individuals are the main parts of political system.
 It is very necessary to know how people will react either
positively or negatively.
 David Easton : New orientation to the concept of Behaviouralism.
 He discussed about the various features of Behaviouralism.
 He quoted the features as ‘Intellectual foundation stones’.

1) Regularities:
 Uniformity in human behavior; i.e. what majority people think.
 There are certain exception – can’t be 100% regularities in human
nature.
2) Verification:
 The technique of verification is allowed, We can reach an
individual through this & reach to certain conclusion.
 Human behaviour can be studied & verifies from all view points.
3) Values:
 Behavioural scholars totally discard the value.
 Values cannot be true study , there will be difference of opinion.
 Instead of relying upon values, emphasis should be on study of
facts.
4) Systematization:
 It means research in the field of political science should be
systematic.
 We have to understand from beginning to end what individual want.
