2. Sound.
There is the typical non-diegetic sound of the
voice over, this is used particularly to expose
extra sections to the film. Trailer voices are
always evident in film trailers as they are the
extra bit of the trailer that gets the audiences
attention.
The soundtrack on the trailer is intense in the
beginning to show how naughty Beethoven
is, the trailer then changes to an up beat
tempo to show how the dog is becoming a
family member.

3. Camera and Mise en scene.
High angle shot was used of the muddy paw prints to show how
naughty the dog was. The muddy paw prints convey how
Beethoven didn’t listen to anyone in his family.
Also the low angle shot of the dog jumping to save the girl has
been shown in the trailer to show that the dog is a hero. This
would draw the attention of the viewing public as they will
want to see more of the heroic dog in action.
The wide shot of the dog food being poured adds humour to the
trailer as the dog could never consume that much food. Also
the dog food bag itself is bigger than the little girl which
makes the trailer seem funnier. This would draw the attention
of the audience as they will want to see more humour in the
film.

4. Editing.
There is an insert of the other successful dog films,
including ‘the wizard of OZ’ and ‘Lassie’ this will
make the film appealing as they will want to watch
another successful dog film.
In addition to this Slow motion is used when the dog
is shaking all the mud off, this was used to show
the effects of how naughty Beethoven is. This will
draw the attention of the viewing public as they
will think that its funny how the dog is completely
disregarding all orders that his owner is giving
him.
