The document summarizes Broward County's Beach Glass Project which aims to use mixed glass as a supplement for beach renourishment efforts. Broward County has beaches that are critically eroded and require regular renourishment. It also has mixed glass from recycling that has limited market value. Tests showed the processed glass is geologically compatible with natural sand and does not harm wildlife. Focus groups found the concept appealing. However, the project still faces regulatory and budget uncertainties and many questions remain unanswered.
