Risk factors for Diabetes

Diagnosis
• Fasting plasma glucose level > 126 mg/dL
• Random Plasma glucose > 200 mg/dL plus symptoms
• Blood glucose > 200 mg/dl after a 75 g OGTT
• Hemoglobin a1c level > 6.5
In all cases, the diagnosis should be confirmed on a separate day by
repeating the glucose or A1C test
