5. Emergence of Rotaract District
Beginning of a New Rotary Era in Bangladesh
• Bangladesh saw the light of Rotary with the formation of Rotary Club
of Dhaka on 22nd December 1937 being sponsored by Rotary Club of
Calcutta. Later on, in the erstwhile East Pakistan, six Rotary Clubs
were organized namely Chittagong (1952), Narayanganj (1953),
Khulna (1957), Mymensing (1957), Dhaka North (1967), Comilla
(1968), and Chandpur (1970).
• After our independence in 1971, Rotary Club of Chandpur received
Charter as the first Rotary Club in Bangladesh, on 12 April 1074.

6. Emergence of District 3282
Beginning of a New Rotary Era in Bangladesh
• First Rotaract club in Bangladesh Rotaract Club of Dhaka formed in
1974 under District 325.
• First DRR from District 329 Bangladesh is Engr. Jamal Uddin Ahmed
from Rotaract Club of Narayanganj (1979-80).
• First DRR from District 328 Bangladesh is Dr. Fazle Nasim Khan Tipu
from Rotaract Club of Mymensingh (1984-85).
• First DRR from District 3280 Bangladesh is A.N. Fazle Rabbi Mopasha
from Rotaract Club of Jessore (1991-92).

7. Emergence of District 3282
Beginning of a New Rotary Era in Bangladesh
• On July 1, 2013 Rotary International District 3280 bifurcated into two
districts namely 3281, 3282.
• District 3282 covered Dhaka, Jessor, Rajshahi, Barishal,
Dinajpur,Rongpur, Bagerhat.
• District 3282 covered Chittagong, Feni, Comilla, Chandpur, Sylhet,
Maymensingh, Narsinghdi, Moulovibazar.
• First DRR from RID 3281 is Md. Ashequr Rahaman Mishu from
Rotaract Club of Dhaka Premier.
• First DRR from RID 3282 is Mostafa Asraful Islam Alvi from Rotaract
Club of Chittagong Port City.
