How Does The Monkey King Prove Himself
In the novel American Born Chinese the Monkey King (Wei, Danny s cousin) acts different in
the begging than in the end. The Monkey Kings actions in the beginning are reckless. He isn t
liked by many people and he is totally unpopular. He doesn t like jocks and he pees in one of the
jocks coca cola! By the end of the novel The Monkey King reveals the truth about who he really
is and when he does he seems more mature and very believable. He seems like he has much
power and patience. The Monkey King seems to experience a type of internal conflict that
makes him mad for who he is. He does not want to be a monkey because the other kings do not
accept him. He has a low self esteem and does not approve of himself. Even though he does not
like the fact that he is a monkey he still tries to impress the other kings by showing off his kung
fu. The Monkey King disapproves himself as a monkey but wants to prove himself as a king....

He brings out the character traits in the Monkey King from the begging. As Danny ignores Wei,
Wei gets upset and starts to act all crazy and starts messing with Danny s friends. Then in the end
Danny had enough with Wei s actions and started to beat him up. Then Wei starts fighting back
like never before. Once Danny hits him and knocks of his head a monkey head pops out. Then
he reveals who he really is and why he is there. He explained that Danny s best friend was his son
and that he was sent down from the gods. Danny made the Monkey King Reveal who he really was
and unwrapped the characteristics of the Monkey King. Therefore I believe that Danny is the

Rhetorical Analysis Of Margaret Thatcher s Speech
If someone were to pick up a book in a bookshop, what would make them want to buy it? They
would look to the back, reading the reviews by well recognized critics and looking through the
small synopsis. If life was imagined as a gripping novel, the reviews and synopsis of a person
could be compared to a eulogy, the speech Е«given at one s funeral. It d have to sell the idea of a
person, making whoever read or heard it feel an admiration for their life. Margaret Thatcher,
former Prime Minister of Great Britain, sold the positive look on former United States President
Ronald Reagan s life. Being a close friend and working beside him,Thatcher used persuasive
language and rhetorical devices to persuade an audience to share the compassion she felt... Show

From her calling Reagan Ronnie (Line 23), to referring to him as her friend. It gives the
audience a sense of sadness, feeling her attachment to someone she lost. Thatcher s approach
was to pull at the heartstrings of his citizens and friends. Reminding them of his optimism and
positive approach to problems would push the idea of how good of a person and an American
she believed him to be. In the terrible hours after the attempt on his life, his easy jokes gave
reassurance to an anxious world (Line 17), this quote gives an example of his easygoing attitude,
even with death staring him in the face. It could be considered how highly admirable and brave
one must be to do so. When Thatcher says He sought to mend America s wounded spirit... (Line
5) it appeals to the American people, by illustrating his passion for his country. Even in her
introduction, where she says We have lost a great president, a great American, and a great man,
and I have lost a dear friend (Line 1). An introduction is supposed to pull you in, catch your
attention, and make you want to hear more. This bittersweet beginning tugs at your heart, making
you want to hear more about what made him so great. Her overall tone and word choice gives an
emotional feeling, for a truly emotional

Evaluation Of A Performance Evaluation Based On The...
For instance, loyalty, dynamism, leadership sociability, creativity are characteristics required in
wide variety of jobs. This type of evaluation is popular, although it remains widely criticized
(McGregor, 1957). Many specialists believe that personality traits are unobservable, therefore,
difficult to define and measure. These can cause bias in the evaluation and shorten the validity
because the respect we hold for the inherent value of the individual leaves us distresses when we
must take responsibility for judging the personal worth of a fellowman . (Schmidt Hunter, 1998).
Furthermore, the personality traits is somewhat related to the performance of the individual at
work. In addition, making a judgment about an individual does not... Show more content on

With this type of evaluation, the peers play a central role because of the fact that they are
familiar with the work and also have daily interaction with the assesse. By contrast, in an
organization where there is competition among workers, the 360 degree may pervert the
relationship of exchange and cooperation. Certainly, with this type of evaluation there may be
opportunity to speak badly of the work done by others. Despite this, Antonioni mentioned that
these personal opinions on the colleagues, when expressed through this 360 degree appraisal
could become opportunities to address conflict and possibly solve it. Secondly, a feedback is
given to the appraised. This is based on many diversified information and, therefore, is supposed
to be more credible and valid. As mentioned by Antonioni, the multiple sources help increase
loyalty and the measure of validity. In addition, the confidentiality of the descriptions as well as
the fact that specific observable behaviors are taken into account adds more value to the validity.
First, performance management through evaluation allows employee to know what is expected
of him and what will be evaluated. Individual wants to know how the other deems to reflect on
his behaviors. So along the way, the feedback he/she receives may allow him to know what his
evaluator think of his performance on the job and what he could do in order to improve, maintain
or fix. Receiving a feedback may be a constructive experience,

Obamacare Case Study
Once again, we have a new president who is working hard to put change once again to America.
Our new president Donald Trump is using executive orders to try and replace Obamacare. What
are executive orders? Executive order are orders that the current president gives to the government
and basically has the full force of power to make changes. Obamacare was a plan that our former
president Barak Obama created to make affordable healthcare and insurance (Amadeo). The issue
that Donald Trumpwas trying to go at was completely removing Obamacare and puting in a new
plan that will be more affordable and more beneficial to people. Is it going to be hard for Donald
Trump to remove or change Obamacare? According to Matthew Cooper, Obamacare is going...

What are the other major changes with Donald Trump s executive plan on removing
Obamacare? According to the company Motely Fool , With a spotless cancelation taking a
gander right now, Congressional Republicans may swing to a procedure known as compromise,
which would enable them to annul the segments of Obamacare that effect the government
spending plan. All together for a compromise bill to pass the Senate, a lion s share of 51 votes is
all that would be required, and Republicans voting along partisan loyalties can achieve this
aggregate. Compromise would wipe out Obamacare s endowments, and the Common Duty
Installment, which would positively affect how a huge number of Americans set up their
charges (William). Another issue is that on one hand, the ACA is yet the wellbeing rule that
everyone must follow, regardless of the possibility that it is by all accounts living on re
appropriated time. This implies the individual order is still law, and the individuals who pick
not to buy medical coverage ought to pay the SRP, unless they re excluded. Then again, without
line 61 filled in, the IRS has no certification that the citizen paid the SRP or was even
safeguarded in 2016 (William). The IRS has proposed that in the event if it has a question about
a specific expense form it ll catch up with those citizens after the recording procedure is over.
Notwithstanding, the IRS has likewise already said that it wouldn t embellish compensation or
pursue a man s property for not paying the SRP (William). Trump s official request has made it
almost unimaginable for the IRS to gather the SRP or to solidly confirm a people s medical
coverage status. Trump was unsuccessful in reforming Obamacare using executive orders, but we
can see how Trump s executive orders were put into action. He commanded officials and federal
government agents to start attacking Obamacare to find it s weak

Empathy Is The True Catalyst For Understanding
Empathy is the true catalyst for understanding. For the past several years, my Spanish department
has been working toward rewriting our curriculum to include comprehensible input and storytelling
about complex issues like immigration, social injustice and identity. While I have always told
stories about myself, I ve realized that compelling and interesting stories about real and even
fictional people impact my students exponentially. When my students hear Gaby Moreno singing
about an Ave que Emigra, they feel her longing for Guatemala, her home country, in a way that I
can t describe through a lecture. One of the high points of my teaching career occurred several
years ago when a particularly racist student wrote in his final essay about... Show more content on

When I signed up for French, I naturally but incorrectly assumed that I would learn about all things
French. But my second language study started as many high school students did: it was the mid 80
s and my high school teacher was using the audiolingual method. The class consisted of the
arduous task of memorizing vocabulary, conjugating verbs, and decoding simple sentences with
no cultural context whatsoever. While I didn t find French to be particularly difficult, I wasn t
enthusiastic about rote memorization. When I was given an opportunity to drop French in order
to join a select choir, I didn t think twice. My mid 1980 s high school didn t really push second
language study, so I figured that this was the end of my foray into language study. Perhaps it just
wasn t for me...
However, by the end of my freshman year, I had a new interest in language and culture. This
interest was not fueled by academic curiosity but rather by the simple desire to connect and
understand others. I had begun dating a Mexican American boy and his family intrigued me. My
boyfriend s mother, Doris, and father, Enrique, met in the 60 s during Enrique s annual migration
from Mexico to southern Missouri as a harvest worker. The two had met, fallen in love, and moved
to Mexico where they started their family. Four children and 12 years later, they returned to the
U.S. to enroll their kids in public school. What

Essay on Keep my Camera Rolling in Dubai
Riding on the roads of Dubai is essentially a fieldtrip in itself. There is so much to see form the
drop dead architecture to the metro; from the vigorously kept grass to the natural desert, and of
course the tantalizing advertisements. Whether it s a new product or a new city you ll see it... on
cardboard. Oh, did I mention the expensive line up of luxury cars that roam around too? The
highway is surrounded by high rises and each one has its own unique architecture. Being a rather
futuristic/touristy city all the buildings seem to have adapted a code. Rule number one would
probably be: One must create a unique and eye catching exterior. Rule number two: One must
decorate said exterior with astounding array of lights when sun sets. Rule... Show more content on

You can sometimes see the metro running alongside the highway on the elevated bridge. But, of
course, not the whole highway is surrounded by buildings. There are also many construction sites
which give a window into what Dubai used to be like: a lot of dust and sand. There are some parts
however, in which one might spot a bit of greenery. It s both artificial and real at the same time.
Artificial in the sense that it s not natural to the land and that it must be watered ten times a day
to maintain, and real in the sense that it s not a piece of plastic. Which is commendable because
of the arid climate here. As I m sure we all know, no road is complete without advertisements and
Dubai is no different. For example it s hard to miss the huge brick wall that runs a few miles long
advertising Dubai Sports City that is currently being built. Or the huge structure that s concealing
the construction site of Dubai Lagoon and at the same time is ostentatiously showing off what it s
supposed to look like. Then of course there are the regular advertisements of phones and such
glowing at nighttime and commanding your attention. But no analysis of the roads of Dubai is
complete without the cars that roam on the road. Mostly you ll see the average Toyota or Nissan.
But also accompanying them are Benzes, Lexi, and other luxury/exotic cars. The unusual thing is
the quantity of these types of cars which number unusually high. I suppose it fits with the image of
ease,

How Patanjali Is Considered A Divine Messenger
Upanishadic wisdom converged on a shared belief in a universal law that guided the abiding
presence of religious and metaphysical forces in the lives of individuals and of the collective
destiny of all things in the universe. The Upanishadic teachings help us to understand how yoga
evolved.
Patanjali is historically understood to have been a divine messenger, born some time between
500 BC and 200 BC. The dates are uncertain to this day as the lives of the great sages and mystics
were not measured according to modern calendars, but rather, were imbued by the living oral
traditions that defined Upanishadic wisdom and knowledge. Some traditions held that Pantanjali
was not born of mother and father but was rather the incarnation of the god Adiesea. Adisesa is a
great king cobra whose body is the seal of the god Vishnu. The legend continues that the god Shiva,
the king of dance, invited Vishnu and other deities to see his famous dance, Tandava Nritya. As
Shiva danced, Vishnu immersed his own consciousness in the moment. His physical being
undulated in rhythm with the graceful movements of Shiva. During the performance of the dance,
Vishnu was seated on Adisesa, the great cobra. The cobra became short of breath under Vishnu s
weight, which seemed to increase with his enrapturement in the dance. The great cobra began to
gasp for air. At the end of the dance, Adesisa immediately felt release from the heavy pressure of
Vishnu s body. Adesisa asked Vishnu, How could it be

Spain and the Balkans came under a long period of Muslim rule as did Iran and the middle
eastern countries, which were completely subsumed. Indian culture showed remarkable vitality

system. China and Japan were geographically isolated and never faced large scale invasion from
Islam, which anyway spread in Indonesia , the Philippines and malaysis, with the waning of
Indian power. East Asia was in fact an important sphere of Indian cultural export, with the

much of Indian culture survived, in Indochina and Indonesia among other places, and Bali is still

The Three Types Of Pollution That Affect Humans And Animals
I think that the topic pollution is a very important topic to talk about, here is why I think so.
There is quite a few types of pollution in the world, but the three main ones I want to address are
the types of pollution that affect Humans and animals. The three main types of pollution that can
negatively affect humans and animals are air, water, and soil pollution.
Air pollution is a type of pollution that occurs when harmful substances, including particulates and
biological molecules are introduced into Earth s atmosphere. There is a lot of chemicals that get
released into the atmosphere when fossil fuels are burned; the effects that these chemicals have on
our bodies when inhaled can be very detrimental to our health and well being. A few things that
can occur when we breathe in polluted air are; firstly, you are put at a higher risk of respiratory
diseases such as asthma and bronchitis. Second, exposure to higher levels of particle pollution have
been shown to correspond to higher risks of heart complications. Third, immune system, endocrine,
and reproductive system damage; which can lead to future health complications. Four, when living
in an area with lots of air pollution you are being put at higher risks for cancer. The pollutants in
the air mostly contain of carcinogens; any substance, radionuclide, or radiation that is an agent
directly involved in causing cancer. Five, contact with the air pollution can lead to neurobehavioral
problems and premature death. These are a few of the main effects that air pollution has on humans.
Air pollution can also negatively affect animals, here are a few ways on how it can. The first
way that air pollution can negatively affect animals are from acid rain. Acid rain is an acidic form
of rain, meaning that it contains high levels of hydrogen ions; having a low pH balance of around
5.7. The acid rain can destroy the life of fish in lakes and streams. The second way that air pollution
can negatively affect animals are, extreme ultraviolet radiation. Ultraviolet radiation is the portion
of the EM (electromagnetic) spectrum between X rays and visible light. When extreme UV
radiation is coming from the sun through the ozone layer (in the upper atmosphere), it can

The Effect of Amercan Wars on the Societal Views of Women
From the earliest times of man, women seemed to always be seen and treated as inferior, and
certainly not equal. With the birth of the United States, and the wars that followed, the female
population finally gained the confidence to voice their thoughts of their roles in society. The impact
of the Revolutionary War, the Civil War
, and the Progressive Eraimpacted the roles that women
played in society in momentous ways because all three of these events were times of partial
chaos with which came the more confident voices of women voicing their concerns about
society s views of them. The Revolutionary War was a time when thoughts and views were not as
easily muted and, because of this, women, for the first time in history, took advantage of this and
voiced their concerns verbally and through their actions such as Abigail Adams and the Sons and
Daughters of Liberty. Due to similar unrest, the Civil War proved to be an exceedingly
important time for women because they were able to partake in a actions such as speaking out
against slavery, filling male positions in factories, and even aiding wartime doctors. A final event
that created arguably the most change for women is the early Progressive years and the spin off
actions that followed such as the call for women s votes, the rising leadership roles that they
called for, and even their aiding of the poor and sick in places such as the Hull House.
The Revolutionary War gave rise to a nation like none the world had seen before;

The Importance Of Technology In The 21st Century Learning...
Technology plays a major role within our society and world wide. In order to prepare our students
for the 21st century learning environment, the school district will ensure student success by leading
to higher education, work, and life long learning, embedding an equitable and accessible 21st
century learning environment along with supporting students with emerging technologies through
the curriculum. This learning environment will include available and current technologies,
information resources, and training to help ensure innovative teaching and learning in the
classroom. Our district s entire educational community will collaboratively work to provide this
digitally rich environment in order to equip our students to become independent, life long learners
who are prepared to meet the challenges ahead.
Rationale
The current state of Shadow Rock Elementary is one that is evolving technologically. The school
has received 6 Chromebooks carts that are available for students and teachers to use. Shadow
Rock also has 4 IPad carts along with 3 ThinkPad carts; however, with the school s technology
resources we have neglected because the lack of professional development to insure effective use
of these technologies. National Institute for Professional Practice (2014) states, schools should
embrace new designs for learning based how people learn. Education, in other words should be
design to address critical thinking skills in order for students to be successful in a 21st century

Far From Heaven
Cathy Whitaker as well as her friend s and their friendship definitely represent the roles a female
wore back in the 1950 s. Cathy and her friend s all represented the perfect housewife, cooking,
cleaning, raising the children and catering to their men. Their main focus wa their family, their
gatherings, their dinner parties and trying to keep up their social status within their own inner
circle and within their own community. Also, the women wore dresses and skirts, had their hair
and makeup perfectly done as if they were ready for a night out, not for a day spent at home doing
housework. The men, in the film, all worked, wore suits and ties, played golf, and came home to

Christianity s Attachment And Underlying Principles And...
Christianity s attachment to underlying principles and beliefs are centered on the devotion of the
Holy Trinity. The perception of the trinity has shaped controversy by finding a solution from a
reliable origin. Deliberation on the true entity of God is unavoidable and contrasting opinions
emerge by human endeavor. Debate on the trinitylargely was derived by disagreement on the
concepts ousia (common essence) and hypostasis (substance). These concepts became distinctive
by The Cappadocian Fathers: Basil the Great, Gregory of Nyssa, and Gregory of Nazianzus. The
relationship of God, the Father, and his son Jesus Christ was defined by the Cappadocian Fathers
and what is understood today in the Christian Doctrine. The Cappadocian Fathers were highly
commended martyrs that advanced the development of early Christian theology. Without the efforts
of The Cappadocian Fathers evolvement in defining the relationship of the Father, the Son, and the
Holy Spirit, there would still be contest identical to early progression in Christian history.
HISTORY BEHIND THE TRINITY
The acceptance from expressing religious logic arouses deliberation in society. Throughout history,
theological debates were generated from the discussion of God s exact nature and accordance with
his son, Jesus Christ. Even though the trinity has been agreed upon as a secret above human
comprehension, this is naturally misleading due to its complexity. The beliefs surrounding the Holy
Spirit were neglected due to the

Analysis Of Titus Andronicus By William Shakespeare
In William Shakespeare s play, Titus Andronicus, the main character Titus Andronicus is a
perfect example of the never ending cycle of vengeance. Throughout the play, Titus and Tamora
seek resolution and closure through revenge. Throughout the play, these characters do not
realize the resolution to their war over vengeance is making peace. When one person chooses to
get back at the other this creates a never ending loop of revenge or topping one another s conflict.
The key to success in this situation would be for one to make peace, and in this play you will
discover how these characters brought closure to their cycle of never ending vengeance. In the
play, the audience is shown how vengeance controls one s perspective. In other words, vengeance
can impact and skew ones view on life and negatively impair one s decisions. The audience
understands from the beginning of the play how Tamora s positive and sympathetic character is
very evident; although, in Act II, her mind and actions has been dramatically skewed and
twisted. Tamora s attitude has been overcome by vengeance as she says, But straight they told
me they would bind me here Unto the body of a dismal yew, And leave me to this miserable
death: And then they call d me foul adulteress, Lascivious Goth, and all the bitterest terms That
ever ear did hear to such effect: And, had you not by wondrous fortune come, This vengeance on
me had they executed. Revenge it, as you love your life, Or be ye not henceforth call d my

History Of Agroecology Vs. Industrial Farming
In this paper I will argue that the natural=good idea provides good guidance for other environmental
issues, other than GM products and ecosystem management, by utilizing the example of
Agroecology vs. Industrial farming. Natural can be defined as anything that has been produced by
nature and not made or altered by humankind in any way. The natural=good idea argues that
anything that is produced, preserved, protected, and so on, in natural ways or with naturally
occurring products is the better alternative to something that was done artificially or human made.
The natural=good idea can be used when arguing in favor of Agroecology over Industrial farming,
because Agroecology is natural, more sustainable and overall healthier for the environment than
Industrial farming. The natural=good idea guides some people s thinking when looking over
environmental policies and ethics. The idea is that natural, regularly occurring things and processes
in nature, unaltered by man, are good and should be used. The opposition is that man made and
unnatural processes, products, etc. are therefore bad because they are not naturally occurring.
Helena Siipi shows this idea that natural=good when discussing her ideas for ecosystem
management strategies. She states that there are three management methods, preservation,
restoration, and engineering. Preservation is not modifying the ecosystems, areas, or objects but
rather simply protecting them. Restoration is to alter the

their stories. The two stories I am looking at are A Vendetta by Guy de Maupassant and The Red
Room by H. G. Wells. After I have discussed these two stories I will draw a conclusion to show
what I have found. A Vendetta is about a woman s struggle to avenge the death of her son. The

She also dresses in man s clothes, this also seems strange because it makes you wonder what she
is doing and why she isn t wearing her own clothes. Also the story tells us, The old woman
returned home in the evening. That night she slept soundly. This too creates tension because
you wonder how she can sleep when she has just killed someone and you therefore feel
uncomfortable. The colours used by Guy de Maupassant in A Vendetta create tension too
because colours such as black and brown are used. These colours are dark and traditionally
associated with death and evil. This creates tension because it makes the reader feel uneasy and
wonder what plan the woman will concoct and if it will be evil. During A Vendetta information is
revealed gradually. For instance you don t fully understand the woman s plan until the end. This
crates tension because it keeps the reader in suspense and wondering what will happen. They are

Elon Musk Is A Hero
When I was a kid, adults often asked me what do you wanna be when you grow up? This
question has consistently stumped me, I mumbled something unintelligible. At the time I didn t
have real heroes and I had to invent them on the fly, the adults have calmed down. But closer to
30 years I think I know the answer to their question. The subject of today s note three companies

Canada to South Africa, he took his plane apart and moved to a new home, and then was

Role Of Political Parties In Government
Political parties are important in government because they bring people together who have common
ideas, develop policies that benefit people from common interest groups that support them, and
campaign for their candidate to get the people to vote for them. They are used to train and nominate
the leaders the people want into governmentoffice. The main purpose of a political partyis to join
people together that have similar views on government issues. These people with common views
for the same party join interest groups, which help connect people to their government. They work
to influence who gets elected and by belonging to groups like this, you have more power as a
citizen. Political parties serve multiple functions in the government

The Unemployment Rate Is A Good Start
The unemployment rate has worried the Federal government since the collapse of 2008. The
biggest task of any Federal Reserve chairman has been to fix these crises. Over the last seven
years the Federal Reserve tried to get the job market on track. Many have said, when the
unemployment rate fell to 5.5 percent that this translated to a mission accomplished. I am sorry, but
this isn t a mission accomplished. The unemployment rate right now is a good start, but this is still
a great worry for most. Janet Yellen, my advice for you is think outside the box with the
unemployment rate. Yes, 5.5 is a perception, but think of all the people that aren t in the job market.
This number will increase greatly because of all the new students coming out of school. Also, try
taking into the account about the monetary and fiscal policy and how it will affect the tradeoff
between unemployment and inflation. This is a work in progress to help this country grow, we
should all stand together as one and help the job market.
As I begin to write what will help create jobs for the unemployed I must write about the monetary
policy. The monetary policy is an very unique policy that impacts inflation and can create a
worldwide demand for goods and services, which would create jobs. As a result, employees who
produce goods and services primarily through its influence on the financial demands face
troublesome include households and firms. The Federal Reserve also can affect financial

Analysis Of The Movie The Wall
The Wall Film Analysis
The Wall is one of the most popular and regarded albums of a band known as Pink Floyd. The
album was then turned into a movie whose screenplay was written by Rodger Waters, a member
of the band. The film adaptation of the album is based on events that occurred during Rodger
Waters life and uses multiple design elements to shape the viewers sense of the characters,
narrative, and themes of the film while using little dialogue and mainly telling the story though
the use of songs off of the album. The songs from the album played throughout the film are used
to tell the story of a troubles rock star as the film flashes back and forth from his past, his present
self in reality. but also how he visualizes his present self from his state of mind.
Beginning with the opening scene, the design elements used already begin to shapes the
viewers understanding of the film. The image of a long and grey hallways is the first image the
viewer sees. As the camera dollies in to the end of the hallway where a maid is cleaning rooms,
the viewer can already sense the depressing feeling the scene is creating with the use of grey
colors. When this image cuts out, the opening credits are shown, then followed by a man lighting a
lantern. The lighting is very dark, which is seen again and again throughout the film, and the man s
face is only illuminated by this small sense of light. Due to his costume, the audience can tell that

The novel s protagonist chooses to make a radical break with society after he comes to recognize
his own unhappiness. In neo classical economic terms, new information changes views, which in
turn changes behavior. So this tells us that there is a direct correlation between one s own emotional
stability and the availability of free flowing information.
There is an instinctual human need to be curious and seek out answers to unseen questions. It is
very natural for us to ask that a one word question why?? John Stuart Mill s reflection on happiness
in his essay On Utilitarianism offers a normative economic approach to understanding of the search
for happiness and the constraints in the search for one s own need to be an induvial and seeking
knowledge.
Now that we have touched on all the subjects that affect a population in regards to suppression and
keeping that population ignorant to its own past and/or limiting the flow of information. The novel

is consistent with strictly controlled flows of information is implausible to mainstream economic
thinking today. Yet recall the novel was written in the early 1950 s, long before the freedom and

Managing Flexible Workforce
Managing Flexible Workforce Strategic HRM Considerations
Felipe Caamano
Keller School of Management
Introduction
Staffing is the process of acquiring, deploying, and retaining a workforce of sufficient quantity and
quality to create positive impacts on the organization s effectiveness and thus is a critical
organizational function concerned with the acquisition, deployment, and retention of the
organization s workforce.
The complexity of work and projects being done in organizations today are becoming overly
complex both in terms of scope and reach. This spans over multiple geographies, time zones,
cultures and teams. The work force today has now become diversified with employees coming from
countries such as Argentina, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, shortages of labor, both quantity and quality, threaten growth and even survival and the
ability of individual managers to effectively run their work units.
Smith (Simth et al., 2011) avers that employers today need to be able to fit to the employees
mould rather than the employee fitting into the employer s mould. This is driven by the belief that
employees are different and need to be managed as individuals rather than a one size fits all
approach as had been in the past. Every individual has different aspirations, potential, needs and
growth expectations; and it falls on the employers of today to acknowledge that and make that
change over to their human resource management practices.
Eleveld (Eleveld, 2011) brings to the attention that highly skilled and experienced professionals
who will be too expensive to hire, can be brought on board as flexible employees or contractors.
These flexible employees will have different motivations of working with organizations and will
have different priorities and hence need to be managed differently from the full time employees. It
will be to the organization s disadvantage if these choose to ignore the value these employees can
bring onto the table. The rising costs and business uncertainty is also forcing companies to scale
back their permanent hiring plans and look at flexible employees and contingent workers to
perform those responsibilities. Partridge (Partridge, 2010) mentions

Standardized Testing Is A Crucial Part Of Today s Federal...
Standardized testing is a crucial part of today s federal education structure; one that is both highly
supported and criticized at all levels. The main point of this roundtable, and the chosen excerpts
from the authors on the subject, is to discern and debate both the necessity of and the role that
multiple choicetesting plays in teaching history. This subject is relevant to us as history teachers
because it opens up the floor for discussions about the need to either continue, reform, or completely
scrap multiple choice testing from the history standard of secondary educationin today s society.
The discussions for this roundtable are stationed around six excerpts from different history
education scholars. The centerpiece of this discussion, at least from my interpretation, is a piece
from a retired history department head of Princeton University named Theodore K. Rabb. The
excerpt of his writing details a more negative critique of multiple choice testing from the history
aspect of public education. Rabb explains that the teach to the test mentality of multiple choice
examinations is an inherent failure; due to the fact that there are so many different aspects of
history to teach. He states that teachers should be able to teach students on the different historical
aspects that interest them as educators, while still following a core structured timeline, instead of
having to follow a strict package of historical tidbits for a test. Rabb then explains that multiple

Romans were heavily influenced by Etruscan and Greek culture. Economics and Politics The
economy and politics of Greece were extremely complex. Most importantly Greek commercial
expansion through new trade markets around the Mediterranean with the non Greek world
made it possible for more men to purchase land and power. At the same time the concept of a
polis (city) and demos (common people) and the idea of discussion of public choices and
possible outcomes with collective concern were born in the city state. Two of the most well
known to us today are Athens and Sparta, but there were many more. The mountainous terrain
as well as a deeply entrenched sense of independence probably allowed the system to remain
more of a loose confederation than a central republic, like that of Rome. The early Roman
republic probably began around the year 509 BCE and lasted for more than 450 years before the
gradual decay of its republican institutions. The Senate, which concentrated political leadership,
had come in place by 300 BCE or so to represent the ruling class of patricians and wealthier
members of the plebs. The typical Roman citizen lived in the country and the bulk of the Roman

Harlem Renaissance And Its Influence On African-American...
In 1863, President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation freeing all, African
Americans from the bonds of slavery. However, it was still a long road for equality, especially in the
South. In the early twentieth century, many African Americans escaped the south and traveled to
northern cities, now known as the Great Migration. Many African Americans settled in a
neighborhood in New York City known as Harlem. This neighborhood lead to the flowering of
African American: culture, art, literature, and especially music. The explosion of African American
culture is known as the Harlem Renaissance. The music of the Harlem Renaissance changed
African American and American culture forever. Their music, jazz, transcended the racial divide.
Jazz, created in New Orleans, traveled to Harlem, New York, marking the birth of the musical side
of the Harlem Renaissance. Jazz was upbeat music made up of trumpets, clarinets, and drums.
Along with the music, came African American musicians such as Louis Armstrong, Duke
Ellington, Cab Calloway, and Willie the Lion Smith. These musicians, like many others, migrated to

Ignoring capacity was an issue. By doing that, if maxim capacity was reached, there was a huge
possibility of backordering and that would translate in decrease of velocity, inaccurate planning
and worse: unhappy customer. Capacity should considered into forecast and planning. The CP
should focus on sell in as it is more attractive to the retailers, the product is closer to final
customer so there is improvement on the supply chain, not to mention the costs over the
inventory. Also, the compensation metric for sales used should be the percentage of sell in that
became sell through. This way, Leitax would make sure that they are not boosting the numbers as
they are compensated by the percentage of sell in that became sell through. The company would
have more accurate numbers and it would not incur on permanent inventory costs as they forecast
would be more accurate. CP should not be reviewed monthly basis, but it should be a
intermediate range term and check point every quarterly. On the other hand, sales, marketing and
production should work closely on a weekly, monthly basis to determine the best course of action
to achieve the optimal balance between supply and demand while meeting the expected forecast.

Learning about dialects was another interesting topic we discussed in class, the topic made me
really think deep about what kind of dialect I use in everyday life. Dialects are a specific
variation of a language in a particular region or ethic group with individualized phonological
features to wide range of groups. A large part of decoding dialects is the understanding of the
International Phonetic Alphabet, phonology, and phonemes used in the different areas you might
be teaching in. Phonology is the study of sound and phonemes is the smallest unit of sound both
are key to use and listen for when in a new region of the country. The International Phonetic
Alphabet represents the sounds letters make for a spoken language and when written the word
reads as a certain dialect. Lexical features of dialects are the preferred terms of words used in
certain dialects with different synonyms used by other dialects. Learning about dialects also taught
me how people code switch from home to public settings. I speak a Northern Jersey with a small
amount of classic southern mixed into my dialect. Allowing me to understand multiple dialects
including Standard English. My stronger northern accent may cause me teaching in areas with a
strong southern accent to be a little bit of a struggle with my students and myself.

How To Describe A Day On A Rainy Day Essay

After about ten minutes we set of together through the fields and down the country lanes. All of a

We went to the top of Currahee and back with a couple of ambulances following, and men
vomiting spaghetti everywhere along the way . These were the words of Easy Company
member Sargent Tripper and the brutal training by Sobel which that took place on that day.
Another case that proved Ambrose s argument the Easy Company was the best company in the
Airborne s was Sobel s determination to see them as the best company; demonstrated by some of
the drills and inspections he would do with the men. Ambrose stated there were many times
before and after a run, Sobel would instruct the company to dump all the water from their
canteens. This was to build the company s endurance to prepare them for fighting. To teach the
men of the company self discipline when inspecting the troops in the company Sobel would
inspect with detail. If the smallest article of clothing was out of place or wrinkled, he would deny
the troops a weekend pass. However, while doing this Sobel was only preparing the men to become
the best fighting force to take on the tyranny of the Nazis in Europe. Another argument in Stephen
Ambrose s Band of Brothers was the assignment of the hardest and toughest missions in the
European Theater in World War II for the men of Easy Company. The stress in training was
followed by the stress in Normandy by drawing the key combat mission for gaining control of
Utah Beach. In combat your next reward for a good job done is that you get in the

Comparing Norse And Egyptian Mythology
Every country has its own mythology, bringing purpose for life. Norse and Egyptian Mythology
are two excellent examples. Norse Mythology was brought up by Vikings and is told throughout
areas such as, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, etc. Egyptian Mythology is told in
Egypt and was brought up by Pharaohs. Norse and Egyptian Mythologyare very different from one
another, but are both myths that were told for centuries, and are to be told for centuries more.
Norse Mythology s creation started with a giant named Ymir. He emerged from the ground and
grew very large from cow s milk. In time, the god Buri and his wife appeared and gave birth to
Bor and Bor s son was named Odin. Ymir, was evil, and the gods didn t like it, so they killed him,

The gods were pleased with what they did, but they were still missing one thing. To feel completely
satisfied, Odin took two broken trees and formed them into the first man and woman.
Egyptian Mythology s creation started with Nu, the dark and swirling chaos before time.
Eventually, Atum rose from Nu and created a hill for himself to stand on. He had one eye that
would see everything, but was very lonely. Soon after, Atum brought Shu, the god of air, and
Tefnut, the goddess of mist and moisture into life. They gave birth to Geb, the earth, and Nut, the
sky. Nut would give birth to the sun every night before sunset so the sun would shine through the
day, and die at night.
Just like in Norse Mythology, the Egyptian gods were still missing something to their creation. One
day, Shu and Tefnut got lost in the chaos. Atum was heartbroken, so he sent his eye to search for
them. Finally, they returned with Atum s eye, making Atum weep tears of joy. When the tears hit
the earth, they turned into the first

Text While Driving
The product that the yellow group created was presented by our team member Dorothy who is a
product that could save a life. The idea is to stop people from using their phone while driving.
By this how many of us have an application on our phones that lock the usage while driving? I
found this to be very unsafely because even though the phone is lock you can still access your
phone by answering calls. Now, the problem is that becomes a distraction trying to unlock the
phone. According to Snyder, 1.6 million crashes happened due to the phone use while driving
(2016). The innovated product is cell phones that automatically will shut off when the car is on
drive mode. No more distraction on trying to unlock, text, call because it will only function to
make a 911 call with a click of a button.
I believe the product will serve the client expectations by saving lives and avoiding car accident
due by use of a phone. According to Snyder, 1 out of automobilecrash occurs by texting and
driving can you image how much safer the roads will be? I believe that any product that will save
someone life will have an impact on the customers. Those who don t is because they have not lost
a loved one in a car accident because of a distracted driver using their phone. ... Show more content

G. I. Bill Of Rights Importance
The G.I. Bill of Rights is also known as The Servicemen s Readjustment Act of 1944 on a very
basic level changed the structure of the American workforce by empowering an exceptional
number of American veterans to go to school and exchange schools. Marked into law on June 22,
1944, the G. I. Bill of Rights, as it came to be known, conceded stipends covering educational cost
and everyday costs, gave professional recovery, built up veterans doctor s facilities and made low
intrigue contracts accessible for veterans of WWII. The enactment was in the long run extended to
incorporate all who served in the military, even in peacetime, under the Readjustment Benefits Act

Tombstone Movie Analysis
What goes through your mind as you are observing a film? Do you notice the way the camera
angles play with your mind and make you wonder? Or do you spot the way the lighting
techniques help to communicate the story? Maybe you hear the score or the dialogue and
witness the sense tingling notes and words that make you guess what is going to happen next.
Whatever it may be, films are amazing works of art that stimulate emotions and help you
experience the story in a deeper way. I had the opportunity to view the movie Tombstone and pay
closer attention to the details that make the film what it is. Tombstone is a western film about a
lawman named Wyatt Earp (portrayed by Kurt Russel) who is the protagonist in the story, along
with his two brothers Virgil Earp (Sam Elliot) and Morgan Earp (Bill Paxton). With his brothers,
Wyatt also has a trusty sidekick by the name of Doc Holliday (Val Kilmer) and they are feuding
with the ruthless rebels of the time, known as the cowboys. The leader of the cowboy gang is an
outlaw named Curly Bill Brocius (Powers Boothe) and he has a right hand man who might be even
crazier and bloodthirsty who goes by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

for our own dignity whenever someone calls you out. I forgot how good this film is seeing how
that is had been a long time since the last time I watched it, but I had never observed in the way I
did to complete this paper. This process has given me a new appreciation for the little things I
enjoy subconsciously in movies, but never have the opportunity to really express in words. I would

A Comparison of Multiple Research Designs
Reversal design involves repeated measures of behavior in a given setting requiring at least three
consecutive phases: initial baseline, intervention, and return to baseline (Cooper, 2007). As with
any intervention, baseline data is a typical primary condition for beginning the process. With
reversal design data is collected, until steady state responding is achieved and then intervention is
begun. The condition is applied in the form of treatment and then reversal of the treatment is
performed. This procedure is described as A B A or baseline, treatment, baseline. The operation and
logic of the reversal design involves the prediction, verification, and replication of the treatment
reducing the target behavior. The reversal of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Irreversibility can be a significant factor of this treatment design. Reversal design is not appropriate
when independent variable cannot be withdrawn. The level of behavior from earlier phases cannot
be reproduced again under the same conditions. Reversal phases can be relatively short. Reversal of
intervention may not be appropriate in harmful situations
Measuring the validity of reversal design takes into consideration the social significance of the
behavior to be modified, the results that can be improved through replication, and will the
diminishment of the behavior be meaningful to the individual. An appropriate intervention using
reversal design would be for a student that is struggles to stay in his seat during classroom
instruction. The teacher records that the student is out of his seat five times during a 60 minute
class period. During the intervention period, the teacher offers the student free time passes for
every 15 minutes that he remains in his seat.
Multiple baseline design takes three basic forms to change target behaviors. The multiple baseline
across behaviors design, consisting of two or more different behaviors of the same subject. After
the baseline data has been recorded the independent variable is applied to one behavior until one
criterion level is met for that behavior before moving on to the next behavior.
The multiple baseline across settings design, consisting of

were found to be exposed to these solvents based on the products they use in their home while
twenty one percent of women were exposed to harmful products through their profession

Hormones are the building blocks of life. Without them, you can t create new lives. However,
hormones are starting to cause people to worry. Breast development is on the rise. Girls, on
average, are beginning to mature and grow breasts at the age of nine, which causes one to raise
suspicion considering how the average in the 1960 s was around age 11 (Steingraber 746). Early
breast development can be linked to breast cancer later on in life. A common misconception is that
all man made chemicals are harmful, and all natural chemicals are good for us. However, many
natural chemicals are just as harmful to human health, if not more so (Lorch). Dorea Reeser
provides a different perspective to counteract the harmful effects of manmade chemicals. Dorea
Reeser upholds a Ph. D. in environmental chemistry at the University of Toronto. She researches
and studies the chemical reactions at water surfaces, and how the chemical and physical properties
influence these reactions and the release of important trace gases into the troposphere.
The idea that nature can harm us is not new. Have you ever heard of malaria, HIV, tuberculosis,
botulism or tetanus? Why, then, are so many convinced that anything and everything natural is
healthier for us than synthetic products? It s true that modern chemistry has brought us a number of
toxic chemicals, like DDT and dioxins, but do you really think that nature s chemicals are any less

Judith Butler s Theory Of Performativity In The Queer Theory
This research intends to shed light on Performativity as a crucial notion in gender studies. The term
Performativity, has emerged primarily thorough the publication of the philosopher Judith Butler s
book Gender Trouble: Feminism and the Subversion of identity (1990). The present research tackles
the notion Performativity theoretically with an extensive focus on gay, lesbian and queer theories.
In addition, the research exposes Judith Butlers claim and belief of the concept performativity as a
feminist, philosopher, and gendertheorist.

something that each person is naturally born with. Butler describes gender to be a performance
how one acts through words and physical movements very similar to performing a play. Butler s
theory mentions how a performance may not necessarily be the right term for describing what it
means to be a woman or a man. Performances are finite they have an end while being woman or
man does not. It is ongoing process and will even change over time. Overall gendered
performances existed since before any of us were alive and will more than likely continue to be,
they are constantly which is what Butler s term is gender

Parental Expressed Emotion Research Summary
Research Summary # 1 ADHD and Parental Expressed Emotion
In the transitional period from late childhood to early adolescence, children with attention deficit
/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) experience significant differences in terms of biological, cognitive,
and psychosocial development. While some individuals experience further challenges in one or
more of these aspects, others show significant improvement. The remitting of the symptoms is
independent of severity, impairment, and co occurring diagnoses which indicates that there is either
a new genetic influence during this period or that social and familiar environments have an impact.
In the study Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder Developmental Trajectories Related to
Parental Expressed Emotion, the researchers aimed to examine if negative family environment,
specifically parental expressed emotion (EE), influences ADHD symptoms over the transition from
childhood to early adolescence and if chronic exposure to high parental EE (particularly criticism)

  • 3. Rhetorical Analysis Of Margaret Thatcher s Speech If someone were to pick up a book in a bookshop, what would make them want to buy it? They would look to the back, reading the reviews by well recognized critics and looking through the small synopsis. If life was imagined as a gripping novel, the reviews and synopsis of a person could be compared to a eulogy, the speech Е«given at one s funeral. It d have to sell the idea of a person, making whoever read or heard it feel an admiration for their life. Margaret Thatcher, former Prime Minister of Great Britain, sold the positive look on former United States President Ronald Reagan s life. Being a close friend and working beside him,Thatcher used persuasive language and rhetorical devices to persuade an audience to share the compassion she felt... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From her calling Reagan Ronnie (Line 23), to referring to him as her friend. It gives the audience a sense of sadness, feeling her attachment to someone she lost. Thatcher s approach was to pull at the heartstrings of his citizens and friends. Reminding them of his optimism and positive approach to problems would push the idea of how good of a person and an American she believed him to be. In the terrible hours after the attempt on his life, his easy jokes gave reassurance to an anxious world (Line 17), this quote gives an example of his easygoing attitude, even with death staring him in the face. It could be considered how highly admirable and brave one must be to do so. When Thatcher says He sought to mend America s wounded spirit... (Line 5) it appeals to the American people, by illustrating his passion for his country. Even in her introduction, where she says We have lost a great president, a great American, and a great man, and I have lost a dear friend (Line 1). An introduction is supposed to pull you in, catch your attention, and make you want to hear more. This bittersweet beginning tugs at your heart, making you want to hear more about what made him so great. Her overall tone and word choice gives an emotional feeling, for a truly emotional ... • 4. Evaluation Of A Performance Evaluation Based On The... For instance, loyalty, dynamism, leadership sociability, creativity are characteristics required in wide variety of jobs. This type of evaluation is popular, although it remains widely criticized (McGregor, 1957). Many specialists believe that personality traits are unobservable, therefore, difficult to define and measure. These can cause bias in the evaluation and shorten the validity because the respect we hold for the inherent value of the individual leaves us distresses when we must take responsibility for judging the personal worth of a fellowman . (Schmidt Hunter, 1998). Furthermore, the personality traits is somewhat related to the performance of the individual at work. In addition, making a judgment about an individual does not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With this type of evaluation, the peers play a central role because of the fact that they are familiar with the work and also have daily interaction with the assesse. By contrast, in an organization where there is competition among workers, the 360 degree may pervert the relationship of exchange and cooperation. Certainly, with this type of evaluation there may be opportunity to speak badly of the work done by others. Despite this, Antonioni mentioned that these personal opinions on the colleagues, when expressed through this 360 degree appraisal could become opportunities to address conflict and possibly solve it. Secondly, a feedback is given to the appraised. This is based on many diversified information and, therefore, is supposed to be more credible and valid. As mentioned by Antonioni, the multiple sources help increase loyalty and the measure of validity. In addition, the confidentiality of the descriptions as well as the fact that specific observable behaviors are taken into account adds more value to the validity. First, performance management through evaluation allows employee to know what is expected of him and what will be evaluated. Individual wants to know how the other deems to reflect on his behaviors. So along the way, the feedback he/she receives may allow him to know what his evaluator think of his performance on the job and what he could do in order to improve, maintain or fix. • 5. Obamacare Case Study Once again, we have a new president who is working hard to put change once again to America. Our new president Donald Trump is using executive orders to try and replace Obamacare. What are executive orders? Executive order are orders that the current president gives to the government and basically has the full force of power to make changes. Obamacare was a plan that our former president Barak Obama created to make affordable healthcare and insurance (Amadeo). The issue that Donald Trumpwas trying to go at was completely removing Obamacare and puting in a new plan that will be more affordable and more beneficial to people. What are the other major changes with Donald Trump s executive plan on removing Obamacare? According to the company Motely Fool , With a spotless cancelation taking a gander right now, Congressional Republicans may swing to a procedure known as compromise, which would enable them to annul the segments of Obamacare that effect the government spending plan. All together for a compromise bill to pass the Senate, a lion s share of 51 votes is all that would be required, and Republicans voting along partisan loyalties can achieve this aggregate. Compromise would wipe out Obamacare s endowments, and the Common Duty Installment, which would positively affect how a huge number of Americans set up their charges (William). Another issue is that on one hand, the ACA is yet the wellbeing rule that everyone must follow, regardless of the possibility that it is by all accounts living on re appropriated time. This implies the individual order is still law, and the individuals who pick not to buy medical coverage ought to pay the SRP, unless they re excluded. Then again, without line 61 filled in, the IRS has no certification that the citizen paid the SRP or was even safeguarded in 2016 (William). The IRS has proposed that in the event if it has a question about a specific expense form it ll catch up with those citizens after the recording procedure is over. Notwithstanding, the IRS has likewise already said that it wouldn t embellish compensation or pursue a man s property for not paying the SRP (William). Trump s official request has made it almost unimaginable for the IRS to gather the SRP or to solidly confirm a people s medical coverage status. Trump was unsuccessful in reforming Obamacare using executive orders, but we can see how Trump s executive orders were put into action. He commanded officials and federal government agents to start attacking Obamacare to find it s weak ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For the past several years, my Spanish department has been working toward rewriting our curriculum to include comprehensible input and storytelling about complex issues like immigration, social injustice and identity. While I have always told stories about myself, I ve realized that compelling and interesting stories about real and even fictional people impact my students exponentially. When my students hear Gaby Moreno singing about an Ave que Emigra, they feel her longing for Guatemala, her home country, in a way that I can t describe through a lecture. One of the high points of my teaching career occurred several years ago when a particularly racist student wrote in his final essay about... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When I signed up for French, I naturally but incorrectly assumed that I would learn about all things French. But my second language study started as many high school students did: it was the mid 80 s and my high school teacher was using the audiolingual method. The class consisted of the arduous task of memorizing vocabulary, conjugating verbs, and decoding simple sentences with no cultural context whatsoever. While I didn t find French to be particularly difficult, I wasn t enthusiastic about rote memorization. When I was given an opportunity to drop French in order to join a select choir, I didn t think twice. My mid 1980 s high school didn t really push second language study, so I figured that this was the end of my foray into language study. Perhaps it just wasn t for me... However, by the end of my freshman year, I had a new interest in language and culture. This interest was not fueled by academic curiosity but rather by the simple desire to connect and understand others. I had begun dating a Mexican American boy and his family intrigued me. My boyfriend s mother, Doris, and father, Enrique, met in the 60 s during Enrique s annual migration from Mexico to southern Missouri as a harvest worker. The two had met, fallen in love, and moved to Mexico where they started their family. Four children and 12 years later, they returned to the U.S. to enroll their kids in public school. What ... There is so much to see form the drop dead architecture to the metro; from the vigorously kept grass to the natural desert, and of course the tantalizing advertisements. Whether it s a new product or a new city you ll see it... on cardboard. Oh, did I mention the expensive line up of luxury cars that roam around too? The highway is surrounded by high rises and each one has its own unique architecture. Being a rather futuristic/touristy city all the buildings seem to have adapted a code. Rule number one would probably be: One must create a unique and eye catching exterior. Rule number two: One must decorate said exterior with astounding array of lights when sun sets. Rule... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... You can sometimes see the metro running alongside the highway on the elevated bridge. But, of course, not the whole highway is surrounded by buildings. There are also many construction sites which give a window into what Dubai used to be like: a lot of dust and sand. There are some parts however, in which one might spot a bit of greenery. It s both artificial and real at the same time. Artificial in the sense that it s not natural to the land and that it must be watered ten times a day to maintain, and real in the sense that it s not a piece of plastic. Which is commendable because of the arid climate here. As I m sure we all know, no road is complete without advertisements and Dubai is no different. For example it s hard to miss the huge brick wall that runs a few miles long advertising Dubai Sports City that is currently being built. Or the huge structure that s concealing the construction site of Dubai Lagoon and at the same time is ostentatiously showing off what it s supposed to look like. Then of course there are the regular advertisements of phones and such glowing at nighttime and commanding your attention. But no analysis of the roads of Dubai is complete without the cars that roam on the road. Mostly you ll see the average Toyota or Nissan. But also accompanying them are Benzes, Lexi, and other luxury/exotic cars. The unusual thing is the quantity of these types of cars which number unusually high. • 8. How Patanjali Is Considered A Divine Messenger Upanishadic wisdom converged on a shared belief in a universal law that guided the abiding presence of religious and metaphysical forces in the lives of individuals and of the collective destiny of all things in the universe. The Upanishadic teachings help us to understand how yoga evolved. Patanjali is historically understood to have been a divine messenger, born some time between 500 BC and 200 BC. The dates are uncertain to this day as the lives of the great sages and mystics were not measured according to modern calendars, but rather, were imbued by the living oral traditions that defined Upanishadic wisdom and knowledge. Some traditions held that Pantanjali was not born of mother and father but was rather the incarnation of the god Adiesea. Adisesa is a great king cobra whose body is the seal of the god Vishnu. The legend continues that the god Shiva, the king of dance, invited Vishnu and other deities to see his famous dance, Tandava Nritya. As Shiva danced, Vishnu immersed his own consciousness in the moment. His physical being undulated in rhythm with the graceful movements of Shiva. During the performance of the dance, Vishnu was seated on Adisesa, the great cobra. The cobra became short of breath under Vishnu s weight, which seemed to increase with his enrapturement in the dance. The great cobra began to gasp for air. At the end of the dance, Adesisa immediately felt release from the heavy pressure of Vishnu s body. Adesisa asked Vishnu, How could it be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

China and Japan were geographically isolated and never faced large scale invasion from Islam, which anyway spread in Indonesia , the Philippines and malaysis, with the waning of Indian power. East Asia was in fact an important sphere of Indian cultural export, with the Srivijaya Empire, the Majpahit Empire and so on ruling for long. Here as Indian power fragmented and declined. • 11. The Three Types Of Pollution That Affect Humans And Animals I think that the topic pollution is a very important topic to talk about, here is why I think so. There is quite a few types of pollution in the world, but the three main ones I want to address are the types of pollution that affect Humans and animals. The three main types of pollution that can negatively affect humans and animals are air, water, and soil pollution. Air pollution is a type of pollution that occurs when harmful substances, including particulates and biological molecules are introduced into Earth s atmosphere. There is a lot of chemicals that get released into the atmosphere when fossil fuels are burned; the effects that these chemicals have on our bodies when inhaled can be very detrimental to our health and well being. A few things that can occur when we breathe in polluted air are; firstly, you are put at a higher risk of respiratory diseases such as asthma and bronchitis. Second, exposure to higher levels of particle pollution have been shown to correspond to higher risks of heart complications. Third, immune system, endocrine, and reproductive system damage; which can lead to future health complications. Four, when living in an area with lots of air pollution you are being put at higher risks for cancer. The pollutants in the air mostly contain of carcinogens; any substance, radionuclide, or radiation that is an agent directly involved in causing cancer. Five, contact with the air pollution can lead to neurobehavioral problems and premature death. These are a few of the main effects that air pollution has on humans. Air pollution can also negatively affect animals, here are a few ways on how it can. The first way that air pollution can negatively affect animals are from acid rain. Acid rain is an acidic form of rain, meaning that it contains high levels of hydrogen ions; having a low pH balance of around 5.7. The acid rain can destroy the life of fish in lakes and streams. The second way that air pollution can negatively affect animals are, extreme ultraviolet radiation. Ultraviolet radiation is the portion of the EM (electromagnetic) spectrum between X rays and visible light. When extreme UV radiation is coming from the sun through the ozone layer (in the upper atmosphere), it can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. The Effect of Amercan Wars on the Societal Views of Women From the earliest times of man, women seemed to always be seen and treated as inferior, and certainly not equal. With the birth of the United States, and the wars that followed, the female population finally gained the confidence to voice their thoughts of their roles in society. The impact of the Revolutionary War, the Civil War , and the Progressive Eraimpacted the roles that women played in society in momentous ways because all three of these events were times of partial chaos with which came the more confident voices of women voicing their concerns about society s views of them. The Revolutionary War was a time when thoughts and views were not as easily muted and, because of this, women, for the first time in history, took advantage of this and voiced their concerns verbally and through their actions such as Abigail Adams and the Sons and Daughters of Liberty. Due to similar unrest, the Civil War proved to be an exceedingly important time for women because they were able to partake in a actions such as speaking out against slavery, filling male positions in factories, and even aiding wartime doctors. A final event that created arguably the most change for women is the early Progressive years and the spin off actions that followed such as the call for women s votes, the rising leadership roles that they called for, and even their aiding of the poor and sick in places such as the Hull House. The Revolutionary War gave rise to a nation like none the world had seen before; ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Their main focus wa their family, their gatherings, their dinner parties and trying to keep up their social status within their own inner circle and within their own community. The perception of the trinity has shaped controversy by finding a solution from a reliable origin. Deliberation on the true entity of God is unavoidable and contrasting opinions emerge by human endeavor. Debate on the trinitylargely was derived by disagreement on the concepts ousia (common essence) and hypostasis (substance). These concepts became distinctive by The Cappadocian Fathers: Basil the Great, Gregory of Nyssa, and Gregory of Nazianzus. The relationship of God, the Father, and his son Jesus Christ was defined by the Cappadocian Fathers and what is understood today in the Christian Doctrine. The Cappadocian Fathers were highly commended martyrs that advanced the development of early Christian theology. Without the efforts of The Cappadocian Fathers evolvement in defining the relationship of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, there would still be contest identical to early progression in Christian history. Analysis Of Titus Andronicus By William Shakespeare In William Shakespeare s play, Titus Andronicus, the main character Titus Andronicus is a perfect example of the never ending cycle of vengeance. Throughout the play, Titus and Tamora seek resolution and closure through revenge. Throughout the play, these characters do not realize the resolution to their war over vengeance is making peace. When one person chooses to get back at the other this creates a never ending loop of revenge or topping one another s conflict. The key to success in this situation would be for one to make peace, and in this play you will discover how these characters brought closure to their cycle of never ending vengeance. In the play, the audience is shown how vengeance controls one s perspective. In other words, vengeance can impact and skew ones view on life and negatively impair one s decisions. The audience understands from the beginning of the play how Tamora s positive and sympathetic character is very evident; although, in Act II, her mind and actions has been dramatically skewed and twisted. Tamora s attitude has been overcome by vengeance as she says, But straight they told me they would bind me here Unto the body of a dismal yew, And leave me to this miserable death: And then they call d me foul adulteress, Lascivious Goth, and all the bitterest terms That ever ear did hear to such effect: And, had you not by wondrous fortune come, This vengeance on me had they executed. • 18. History Of Agroecology Vs. Industrial Farming In this paper I will argue that the natural=good idea provides good guidance for other environmental issues, other than GM products and ecosystem management, by utilizing the example of Agroecology vs. Industrial farming. Natural can be defined as anything that has been produced by nature and not made or altered by humankind in any way. The natural=good idea argues that anything that is produced, preserved, protected, and so on, in natural ways or with naturally occurring products is the better alternative to something that was done artificially or human made. The natural=good idea can be used when arguing in favor of Agroecology over Industrial farming, because Agroecology is natural, more sustainable and overall healthier for the environment than Industrial farming. The natural=good idea guides some people s thinking when looking over environmental policies and ethics. The idea is that natural, regularly occurring things and processes in nature, unaltered by man, are good and should be used. The opposition is that man made and unnatural processes, products, etc. are therefore bad because they are not naturally occurring. Helena Siipi shows this idea that natural=good when discussing her ideas for ecosystem management strategies. She states that there are three management methods, preservation, restoration, and engineering. Preservation is not modifying the ecosystems, areas, or objects but rather simply protecting them. This too creates tension because you wonder how she can sleep when she has just killed someone and you therefore feel uncomfortable. The colours used by Guy de Maupassant in A Vendetta create tension too because colours such as black and brown are used. These colours are dark and traditionally associated with death and evil. This creates tension because it makes the reader feel uneasy and wonder what plan the woman will concoct and if it will be evil. During A Vendetta information is revealed gradually. For instance you don t fully understand the woman s plan until the end. This crates tension because it keeps the reader in suspense and wondering what will happen. They are also not entirely sure what she is doing throughout the story. In A Vendetta Guy de Maupassant uses words associated with loneliness such as alone and widow . Smith (Simth et al., 2011) avers that employers today need to be able to fit to the employees mould rather than the employee fitting into the employer s mould. This is driven by the belief that employees are different and need to be managed as individuals rather than a one size fits all approach as had been in the past. Every individual has different aspirations, potential, needs and growth expectations; and it falls on the employers of today to acknowledge that and make that change over to their human resource management practices. It will be to the organization s disadvantage if these choose to ignore the value these employees can bring onto the table. The centerpiece of this discussion, at least from my interpretation, is a piece from a retired history department head of Princeton University named Theodore K. Rabb. The excerpt of his writing details a more negative critique of multiple choice testing from the history aspect of public education. Rabb explains that the teach to the test mentality of multiple choice examinations is an inherent failure; due to the fact that there are so many different aspects of history to teach.
