Utilitarianism In Criminal Justice
Considering the three variations of consequentialist ethics, ethical egoism, contractualism, and
utilitarianism: How does these three areas of ethics effect achieving positive means and ends in the
criminal justice system?
This week s discussion seems to be very interesting and can be looked at many different ways, as
we explore the ethical framework we start with consequentialist ethics. This deals with three (3)
things, ethical egoism, contractualism, and utilitarianism. This type of ethics asks the following
questions: What will happen if I do a certain act? Who will be affected and how would this affect
them? How would other alternatives or decisions affect or producer different outcomes (Arrigo
Williams, 2008, p. 145)?
Something that I found fascinating that should opened up the discussion is the issue that was
discussed in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A good example of this would be something to the effect if you support a certain political candidate
with contributions and work with agreements made in the form of jobs, promotions that act would
be wrong in that sense.
Utilitarianism, this type is very simple and is purely based on happiness, it tends to maximizes
all the good in something and minimize all the bad in the act. We all have the desire to be happy
and considered this to be the ultimate goal and happiness factor (Arrigo Williams, 2008, p. 146).
Money, most think money tends to bring happiness therefore many in the law enforcement arena
attempt to maximize this portion of their life whether its by working extra side jobs or many
hours of overtime to bring in extra dollars for family or extra items they feel they have a need or

How Is Holden Caulfield A Hero
Don t ever tell anybody anything. If you do, you start missing everybody (Salinger 214). Much of
the story Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger consists of Holden Caulfield s social interactions with
others and his adventure home after being expelled from what seems like just another school
amongst many in his history. It goes without saying that JD Salinger has made a classic hit novel
through the integration of an eccentric main character and an unconventional plot. Although the
plot is abnormal, the oddity translates into something noteworthy as the book still retains the
noteworthy qualities of any other award winning book.
The exposition of Catcher in the Rye depicts troubled youth Holden Caulfield on his last day
attending Pencey Prep School forever as he was expelled just before winter break due to his low
grades in most of his classes. Holden spends his last day at Pencey in hopes of making some fond
memories. However, he ends up receiving an interminable speech about applying himself from his
history teacher Dr. Spencer. On top of this, Holden also gets into a... Show more content on

He has a hard time opening himself up and just telling the truth so he resorts to the defense
mechanism known as lying. Don t ever tell anybody anything. If you do, you start missing
everybody. (Salinger 214). The rising action consists of Holden and his many experiences in the
city. For example, he became involved in a skirmish with a manager in charge of prostitutes
over a money dispute. Why should I give her another five bucks? I said. My voice was cracking
all over the place. You re trying to chisel me (Salinger 103). He also gets into a fight with a
childhood friend, adding to the tension. We both hated each other s guts by that time. You could

Accidental Death of an Anarchist
Q) Critically analyze the Figure of Madman in Dario Fo s play The Accidental Death of an
anarchist.
A) Dario Fo s play The Accidental Death of an Anarchist (1970) lies in the category of
revolutionary theatre that challenges the fascist regime of Italy. The play is a farce based on
events involving a real person, Giuseppe Pinelli, who fell or was thrown from the fourth floor
window of a Milan police station in 1969. He was accused of bombing a bank. The accusation is
widely seen as part of the Italian Far Right s strategy of tension. Just like Fo s other play, this play
is also funny and subversive and shows a strong preference for the culture and traditions of the
ordinary people and a commitment to the left wing politics. The play ... Show more content on

He provides most of the humor content of the play. The madman is whimsical and he constantly
contradicts other characters as well as himself. His series of logical/illogical arguments becomes
impossible to tackle and it frustrates the Police Department. Even though being termed as
psychologically unfit, the madman appears to be the most intelligent character in the play. He
ridicules the police officials for missing out on the basic concepts of English grammar and the use
of the most important COMMA that changes the meaning of a sentence. He dictates the terms of
law and judiciary to police officials. He is extremely sarcastic. He ridicules the superintendent for
assuming the railway man planted the bomb in railway station without any substantiate evidence
and sarcastically rebukes the kindergarten logic .
The people in power appear to be inhuman and brute in their actions, and the sacred governmental
place, the police station appears to be a madhouse or a slaughterhouse. The madman, even though
he is mad appears to be the sanest character in the play. In fact, he appears to be directing the play
according to his wishes. Suffering from a disease

Female Sexuality Throughout Shakespeare s Hamlet
Hamlet, a tragic play written by Shakespeare in the 1600s, portrays the struggle of young Hamlet in
the face of avenging his father s death. While major themes throughout this tragedy include death,
loss, madness, revenge, and morality, another important theme to include in discussion is the theme
of womanhood. The only two female characters in a cast of thirty five include Queen Gertrudeand
Ophelia, both of whom die unfortunate deaths. The importance of womanhood and female
sexuality is shown through several literary techniques; though, most importantly, the characters
Queen Gertrude and Ophelia are both symbols for female sexuality. Both characters are developed
as negative and positive sides to womanhood through dialogue as other characters approach them,
their own actions, and most importantly, their individual deaths. Queen Gertrude is the mother to
Hamlet, widow to the late King, and new wife to King Claudius as shown within the first act of
Hamlet. Following her marriage to King Claudius, her relationship with her son Hamlet becomes
strained. Queen Gertrude symbolizes much of what is considered to be a negative aspect of
womanhood. To Hamlet, Queen Gertrude is a failure of a woman. Through his dialogue, it is
presented that Hamlet desires a woman and mother to be concerned for her family and place
tradition above all else. When Hamlet s mother makes a decision outside of that realm and marries
King Claudius, Hamlet strives to berate her for her choices. Through

Key Role For The User Authentication
Section 1
Introduction:
User Authentication plays the key role for the users to make use of the resources available in any
given Environment. With the advancements in technology, it has become quite easy for a person
to find out ways to access the data of the other person. It is very important to verify the true
identity of the person trying to access his/her data. The concerned organization or the business
group has to make sure that the person trying to access is the right user of the data and care must
be taken in such a way that the resources are not used for the wrong purposes. Making use of the
correct resources by the right person in a right way is the purpose behind the authentication. A

the correct scenario.
Section 2
The Biometric Feature authentication is the simplest method that analyzes the way the user types at
the terminal by monitoring the keyboard inputs and identifies the users based on the habitual typing
rhythm patterns. The core idea behind this approach is that the biometric features are unique to an
individual and they cannot be imitated by any other person and they are unchangeable. The feature
used is Typing Biometrics. After the user types the target string password, Four features (key code,
two keystroke latencies, and key duration) were analyzed, combined and compared against the
default samples which are already present in the adaptive mechanism template of the system,
thereby authenticating the correct user. The advantage of this approach is its low cost, but it is
limited to very few numbers of users and the main disadvantage is that this method is not effective
if the length of the password is less than ten.

Indonesian Demographic Transition Essay
Introduction
The effects of population control programs on demographic change were not instant, and it takes
long serious effort to encourage the improvement of economic development in a country.
According to Paul J. Gertler (1994, p. 33), Population control is a key element in a country s ability
to maintain and improve its economic and social welfare . Furthermore, this paper intends to
explain why the change of population structure has an effect on the society s economic condition in
Indonesia with examining the demographic variables.

development supporting factors.
In general, Indonesia has been considered successful to reduce fertility and mortality rates. The
total fertility rate (TFR) in Indonesia decreased significantly from the average of 5.6 children per
female in 1971 to 4.6 in 1980, from about 3.3 in 1987 decreased to 3.02 in 1990 and continuously
dropped to 2.8 in 1994. From 1997 to 2002, according to Indonesia Demographic and Health survey
2002 (IDHS 2002, 2003), the TFR was 2.7 and declined to 2.6 children per female.

Meanwhile, the crude death rate in Indonesia in 1970 was 17, 7.9 in 1988, increased slightly to 9
in 1990 and dropped to only 6 in 2006. Furthermore, the infant mortality rate declined from 67 per
1,000 life birth in 1988, 56 in 1990, to 52 in 2000 (Demographic Indicators: Indonesia, http:/

Dead Man
Dead Man, written and directed by Jim Jarmusch in 1995, follows the story of an unlucky
accountant named William Blake, played by Johnny Depp. After moving out West to start a new
life, William Blake is on the run after murdering the son a wealthy business owner. Accompanied
by an unlikely friend, a Native American man named Nobody, played by Garry Farmer, William
Blake transforms his life into that of a Dead Man .
In the beginning scenes of the film, William Blake watches a women be thrown from the porch of
the local pub into the mud beneath. He quickly runs to the woman s aid and the two become
acquaintances. A few moments later, William Blake enters Ms. Thel Russel s bedroom. The two

William being placed on the right side indicates that he is insignificant in this scene. Though he is
the main character of the film, in this scene he has no control, no power. This insignificance
suggests that he has no control or power over the events in the near future that will forever change
his life.
Every aspect of the scene sets the audience up to expect a regular Western romance. The social, and
soon to be intimate, placement of the characters to the mysterious and glowing lighting, the
characters were always meant to spend the night together. The genius set up of the audience not
only creates a connection to the victim William Blake, but also generates a huge surprise when Thel
s ex fiancГ© enters the room and shoots the audience s beloved Thel. The Thel in which the
audience thought would turn William Blake s failure of a journey West into something meaningful.
This scene, thought presents the audience with false hope, is imperative to the overall film.

The Effects Of Sex Education On The Uk Essay
Sex education in the UK
The role of schools in providing information about sexual matters is much debated, with some
arguing that school based sex and relationships education (SRE) may accelerate the onset of sexual
activity and that parents should provide the information (giving them control over what is delivered
and when) (House of Commons Education Committee, 2015)
Published in the Department for Education and Employment (DFEE, 2000) biological elements of
sex education; puberty, reproduction, sexual transmitted infection must be taught to all pupils
through National Curriculum Science, which is compulsory in state maintained schools. In
addition state schools must teach the wider personal and social aspects of sex and relationships and
any state funded school that provide SRE must have due regard to the government guidance
(Department of Education, 2013). However, there is no statutory curriculum so schools are
encouraged to develop their own programs of study. Personal, social, health and economic education
(PSHE), which includes the broader aspects of relationships education, however is not statutory
(DFE, 2013)
There is evidence that receipt of SRE impacts positively on sexual behaviour and is associated
with positive sexual health outcomes (Kirby, Laris and Rolleri, 2007), because of this evidence in
2013, the Office for Standards in Education, Children s Services and Skills (Ofsted) were of the
view that SRE required improvement in over a third of British

The Consequences of the Economic Development of Polar and Sub Polar Regions
Although indigenous populations established themselves centuries ago, polar and sub polar
regions of the Arctic and Antarctica have only fairly recently begun to develop. Originally
classified as remote regions in the world, where the only activities, which took place, were small
scale fishing and hunting by locals in order to survive, they have become sources of great economic
development and prosperity.
Due to their proximity to many highly populated countries, Arctic regions have perhaps experienced
greater economic development than Antarctic regions. The route of this economic development

In 1968, the great quantities of oil and gas discovered beneath Alaska s North Slope, overlooking
Prudhoe Bay, subsequently led to the construction of the Trans Alaska pipeline to Valdez in 1974.
This increased communication links and trade links and therefore brought in vast amounts of
money for the economy and until 1990, oil and natural gas still provided 85% of Alaska s gross
state product.
As personal wealth and length of leisure time are increasing, people are beginning to seek out
new, more exotic locations. For example, tourism in Alaska has become a vital industry, attracting
almost 1.1 million people per year. Visitors not only come to view the landscape features, such as
its coasts, glaciers and mountains, but also to see its huge variety of wild life (ranging from
Brown bears to sea lions) and for fishing (especially salmon). Such levels of tourism have increased
economic development as tourists themselves bring money into the state as well as foreign
currency. Tourism is constantly increasing and being developed as the government want to
diversify employment opportunities in order to increase the rate of economic growth.
Antarctica has similar reasons for economic development, however, on a much smaller scale due to
its uninhabitable climate and landscape. The tourism industry is

We would like to consider this patient as a whole instead of 2 different illnesses. This patient is
chronically depressed and recently being diagnosed with stage 3a Non Small Cell Lung Cancer. It is
very difficult to formulate long term management plan after 45min consultation because
information available about patient expectations and concerns are limited. In order to arrange
patient centered management , patient participation is very important, because patient had stopped

Interval Training Versus Aerobic Exercise Analysis
Interval training and continuous aerobic exercise are two of the most common cardio exercises
practiced by athletes today. However, one is slightly better than the other when looking at
performance increases. An easy way to measure performance increases is to examine the VO2 max
of an individual before and after a training period. VO2 maxis the measure of how much oxygen a
body can take in from the air. It is a great reflection of physical fitnessbecause it reflects how
efficiently a person can use oxygen which is needed for most exercises, especially cardio. Interval
training is when a person switches between two activities that vary in intensity or effort. Continuous
aerobic exerciseis when a person performs an activity at the same intensity... Show more content on

Anaerobic energy is energy that is produced in the absence of oxygen. On the other hand, aerobic
energy is energy that is produced in the presence of oxygen. The difference in energy pathway may
explain the difference in VO2 increases between interval training and continuous aerobic exercise.
Many people struggle to incorporate cardio into their workout routine because they think they must
run endless miles to see results. This excuse is invalid because interval training can provide just as
many health benefits, if not more, than continuous aerobic exercise. Even though interval training
has been shown to improve performance in many people, a blend of interval training and
continuous aerobic exercise that is designed for an individual s goals is the best approach to
implement cardio. Interval training results in greater performance increases and more motivation to
exercise than continuous aerobic training in many types of people, including well trained athletes,
diabetics, children, and people with Down syndrome. However, the most important thing is for
people to incorporate cardio into their exercise

Ghengis Khan or Chinggis Khan, formed a small but well organized military following that spread
from the region and began a violent conquest of Eurasia that lasted from 1207 until 1266. Their
conquests were bloody, ending with between 30 and 50 million deaths. The Mongols chose to

Through the fear that came from the violence that Chinggis Khan was interested in, they were

Mongols brutality became a key factor in the speed of their conquest when their enemies saw the
violence occurring in a neighboring region or city, and they surrendered long before contact with

people surrendered to the Mongols sometimes purely on the basis of rumors; being

Belgium stepped in to help while Austro Hungary was alliance to Germany. The Schlieffen plan
had been created by Alfred Von Schlieffen but he had died before world war one started. The plan
was meant to be foolproof. First of all, Germany planned to defeat France quickly by marching
through Belgiumbefore Russia could get involved. It was intended to avoid a war on two fronts.

This resulted in the German advance being further delayed. Furthermore, I will describe how
French troops retreated to defend Paris from the German advance. The Germans imagined that
their advancement would be speedy and France would not be able to defend. Nevertheless,
France was able to actually relocate their troops very quickly and effectively. France had a war
plan, it was called Plan XVII and it was essentially offensive form the Maginot line into Alsace
Lorraine. Eventually, over 300,000 French soldiers were killed within two weeks. The French
generals then abandoned Plan XVII, they ordered their forces to return to protect Paris. The
mobilisation of the French troops were done by train, taxis and marching, together with help from
Britain and Belgium to slow German advancement. This enabled France to succeed in
mobilisation of their troops. The German greatly underestimated how well France would be able
to do this. By te time the Germans arrived in france the french troops were there already waiting

Anorexia Nervosa Paper
Several databases and journal articles have been included in this literature search. Credits for the
access to these databases are for the Medical Library of the National Guard Health Services. This
Paper emphasize its contents about the prevalence of Anorexia Nervosa among females in general
worldwide. So these are the the four terms used in the search: Anorexia Nervosa, prevalence, young

As far as malnutrition and eating disorders are concerned, Anorexia Nervosa is one of these nutrition

Benefits Of A New Team
When I was in Noida working for Headstrong, my team used to go out for lunch on special
occasions. As that area had quite many options, sometimes we used to be in a fix as to where to
go. Another reason for long decision making was because different people had their own tastes.
And, few of them had even been to places we were zeroing in on and didn t want to go again.
Now, that was a mess as it would delay our outings that were supposed to become a lifetime
memory for a few at least! We tried to plan well ahead in advance, but that also had issues as
people wanted to delay it to the last minute.
We primarily relied on word of mouth recommendations and what we as a team preferred the
most. All in all, it used to go just fine most of the times. However, i remember one incident when
one of our new team members strongly recommended a restaurant to which his family were
regular visitors for many years. He was giving mouthwatering description of the dishes available
there and most of us melted like butter on a parantha and were looking forward to go there.
Come the D day, being a foodie, i was especially charged up; but there was one delay after another
as few of the folks were held up in meetings. It was way past my usual lunch time and finally, we
went ahead around quarter to 3. We were all very hungry but to our utter disappointment we found
the place closed.
The colleague who had recommended us looked pretty sad and asked nearby shops if the
restaurant had closed for good.

The Nature Of The Green Light In The Great Gatsby
In The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the symbolic nature of the green light conveys the
message that holding onto a fantasy for too long can lead to loss of reality. One ominous midnight,
Nick, Mr. Jay Gatsby s neighbor, observes a strange man standing still in his well kept lawn looking
only into the bay and something about that man in his leisurely movements and the secure position
of his feet upon the lawn suggested that it was Mr. Gatsby , without knowing his intentions Nick
glanced seaward and distinguished nothing except a single green light, minute and far away
(Fitzgerald 25 26). Gatsby s specific stance and focused stare signifies the lack of interest he
possesses for the remaining parts of his life at that moment. When

Kazuo Ishiguro Genre Analysis
The first question asked in the readings and discussions that we went through in class is what
exactly is the meaning of genre. To me personally, the word genre is it describes either a novel,
film, video game or music by certain generic ideas or rules of what defines that specific genre.
Stories can be described through narrative forms, such as if the writing piece is either a short
story, a novel or even a poem or narration. Also, stories can even be characterized by either
similar themes or settings and/or if they follow a certain structure such as if a book is either
defined as comedy or drama.
Daniel Chandler explains perfectly in An Introduction to Genre Theory how genre is not always
straightforward in defining things such as stories ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They also discuss certain books that they have written and how some people have complained
that it shouldn t be classified as a fantasy novel. Both explain how genres are now being mixed
and that sometimes, a book cannot be labeled by just one specific type of genre. I agree with
some of Neil Gaiman s statements, such as how he states that the subject of the book doesn t
determine genre and that genres only exist when there s an abundance of novels that fit that
specific genre. I both partly agree and disagree with Kazuo Ishiguro. I agree with how he believes
that there are certain patterns that are associated with the genre, however, many readers and
writers take these specifications too seriously, and believe that if you don t follow the certain
standards of what makes a specific genre, they believe that it is strange. However, I don t agree
with Ishiguro when he states Books are serving the same function as certain brands of cars or
jewelry, in just denoting social position. That kind of motivation attaches itself to reading in a way
that probably doesn t attach itself to film (Ishiguro 7). I believe that film can also motivate people
the same way that books can motivate

Moving To Rowad Alkhaleej Research Paper
Moving to Rowad Alkhaleej
Has changed my life
Moving to Rowad Alkhaleej was my father?s brilliant idea. One of his friends advised him to
transfer me along with my brothers. How did it changed me, why did it change me, all I?m going
to cover and explain in the upcoming paragraphs.
On the first period of the first school day, an American teacher came talked to us, welcomed us,
and introduced us to the school. But it was so difficult to understand what he says, he spoke so
rapidly and in an accent that I listened only while watching movie. From this moment I knew I?m

And I still admire it. But the thing Rowad Alkhaleej added was the fact that we in some specific
years in the school, had days called sports days. That allowed all people in the school?s campus to

opportunity to challenge our teachers in football. It felt so joyful, and we had so much excitement
in those days. Those days could easily break the invisible walls between the teachers and their
student. And show the students how nice teachers sometimes are. Even the principle whom we
thought was a mighty person, played respectfully with us.
Finally, I really thank my father do for securing my future with this great school. And I would to
thank the friend of him who gave the advice. This school allowed me to build a character that I
never thought I would. And thank myself too. For desire to change and be better in life, and
remember that whoever say that humans can?t change is very wrong, I?m not saying I?m the only

Wood In Landfills
Problem: 15,748,001 tons of wood are put into landfills every year. That s 15,748,001 tons of
wood that we could be using instead of dumping. In England 2013, 4.6 million tons of wood
were put into landfills. Furthermore, that wood was not just chemically treated scrap wood; 1.5
million tons are untreated and solid. That wood is overflowing landfills in our community, and
the community doesn t know what to do with it or how to get rid of it. Solution: Our coach had
access scrap wood from a local building site. We decided not to just throw away the wood and
become another statistic, but rather to turn it into something useful for our community. Puzzles!
These puzzles are made out of 100% scrap wood and environmentally friendly paint. We hope to
help significantly reduce the amount of wood ending up in landfills. If everyone contributes, we
can make the only wood in landfills completely unusable materials. This is the world that we will

The Art of Akhenaten A Formal Analysis of House Shrine and Akhenaten Making Offerings One of
the most enigmatic pharaohs of Egyptian history, Amenhotep IV, had grown up in the most
powerful family in ancient Egypt. Once he became pharaoh and ruler of Egypt s empire in 1378
BCE, he changed his name to Akhenaten, effective spirit of Aten , and was known to the people as
the heretic king. Early in his reign, Akhenaten encouraged ideas by using art as a way of

This first act as king brought with him a shocking speculation and hostility between his throne and
the priesthood of Amun. Inside the temple was an entirely new style of art, which was often
described, as naturalistic in Akhenaten s portrayal of the human body. No longer was the Pharaoh
portrayed as half animal with the perfect body fitted for the afterlife. Akhenaten and the royal
family were shown with long toes, massive hips, extremely long fingers, skinny torso, ample
breasts, big buttocks, and an elongated face. This exaggeration of the royal family s bodies altered
classic Egyptian art and became better known as Amarna Art.
Another astonishing act to this religious revolution was the Akhenaten s order of the construction
of a new capital, far to the north of Thebes known as Amarna, horizon of the sun, claiming the sun
god lead him there. A few years after, Akhenaten made the decision to abandon Thebes and
ordered his people to pack up and leave behind the city built by his father to receive the blessings
of Aten in the city of Amarna. Shortly thereafter, he abolished traditional gods and goddesses,
declaring one monotheistic deity, Aten, and introduced in art as a more intimate worship in public
and personal settings of the royal family, receiving blessings from Aten, and showing day to day
life and activities.

The Tragedy Of King Lear Essay
In William Shakespeare s play The Tragedy of King Lear, human suffering is exploited through
exploring social destruction caused by love, lust, and loss. King Lear s kingdom is broken down
through the excess of love and hate. Behaviors resulting from such emotions becomes tragic flaws
for the characters within the play, as the need for approval disrupts all natural social order, which is
then represented by the natural world. The natural world and natureof society become intertwined as
the plot unfolds, and, is wholly represented within the storm scenes in Act III. The society in King
Learis based on the theory of The Great Chain of Being; the idea that society runs under the
following order of God, the King, Noblemen, Commoners, and lastly Animals. In The Tragedy of
King Lear, the natural world is an extension of man himself as it is depicted as a reflection of
emotional turbulence of the protagonists mind and the turmoil caused by the destruction of natural
social order. The upheaval caused by destruction of The Great Chain of Being, socially and
naturally reveals the detrimental effects of destructing social order, leading to a tragic hero s
ultimate demise; for the natural world allows for catharsis, revealing the truth about the evils of the
world.
Emotional turbulence results in social order destruction within The Tragedy of King Lear. When it

Exploring The Benefits And Difficulties Of Travel Accounts
To understand the benefits and difficulties of travel accounts as primary sources, they need to be
clearly defined and placed into their context. The main primary sources in I will be studying are
British travel accounts produced between 1790 and 1800. Tim Young provides the basics for
travel accounts stating, The guiding principle of this book is that travel writing consists of
predominantly factual, first person prose of travels that have been undertaken by the author
narrator. It includes discussion of works that some may regard as genre in their own rights... but
it distinguishes these from other types of narrative in which travel ins narrated by a third party or
is imagined. Young s description of travel narratives allows for accounts that were viewed as
accurate in their time such as Jonathan Swift s Gulliver s Travels. Young and Elizabeth Bohls
demonstrate the ability for travel narratives to be a combination of several literature genres, and
the focus is on the aspects of the traveler rather than the construction of the work in a literary sense.
Linda Colley described the process of analysis the documents, But it needs stressing from the start
that, while these texts sometimes contain fictional interludes, together of course with a tithe of lies
and errors, their overall factual anchorage can usually be tested. Colley s testing involves
comparing accounts and checking references to outside sources and events. This also involves also
being critical with those

Dell vs Hp
1. Introduction Both Dell and HP are two strong players in PC industry which refers to an
industry where companies produces PCs (desktops and notebooks), handheld devices (smart

performance differs. Dell, once the world s largest PC maker in 2001, has continually lost its
market share to HP and Acer since 2007 (Guglielmo 2009). The cause is rooted in two differences
of these companies: company diversifications and core competences. Therefore, how firms can

One might even notice that this whole clothing epidemic is going on right in front of their own

believe that how they dress affects their popularity status. I myself have gone through this being
a young girl at one point! I wonder where they could have gotten this idea from? Oh, that is right,
this idea has been going on since the ancient times! In conclusion, the way people dress is indeed
important. It has been important from the beginning of the ancient times until today. As much as
we would like to believe that Hans Christian Andersen s interpretation of dress is not what is
important, there is absolutely no way that this is possible for us. We are shallow as a whole. Much

A Brief Note On Fair Dealing And Fair Use
A recurrent theme evident throughout copyright literature is the comparison between fair dealing
and fair use. These provisions allow for additional rights to be awarded to users for educational or
research purposes. Their meaning and scope are defined by different legal systems, thus are not
synonymous terms. Fair dealingis a legal term pertaining to common law jurisdictions. It is used to
establish whether the use of a copyrightmaterial is lawful or whether it infringes copyright. With
research or private study as a central requirement, a two part test must be carried out with the
purpose, the character, the amount, the alternatives, the nature, and the effects of the dealing taken
into consideration. The introduction of the fair usemodel, with different elements to the US
doctrine, is highlighted by the Modernising Copyright Report 2013. With recent worldwide trends
moving to a fair use doctrine, there are many advocates promoting the method, considering it a
highly flexible way of enabling use of copyright works without infringement. Universities Australia,
in its submission to the ALRC discussion paper, believed the replacement of fair dealing
exceptions with fair use would enable academics to use copyright material in more advantageous
ways currently afforded to the US. Fair Tidmarsh also reach favourable conclusions, noting that it
would allow copyright works to be used in a way consistent with the greater public interest of

Sparling uses her knowledge of feminist studies to showcase this idea very well. Sparling
emphasises the theme of biopolitics in the film and how that is in direct correlation of the
treatment of the women in the film. Biopolitics is described by Michel Foucault, who coins the
term, as the way in which the specific problems of life and population have been posed within a
technology of government. Sparling takes this term and puts it to the film to showcase of the
biopolitical nature of the movie is one where it feels as though the government, either it be the
broken government at the start of the film, or the new possible government of the Human Project
, ultimately, as Sparling states, Human Project is a scientific enterprise whose aim to save
humanity by developing or finding a cure for infertility males it a possible site of biopower,
exercising control over and disciplining individual bodies for the sake of human race. I thought
that Sparlings idea of transferring power that the government has on Kee s body to just another
government made sense, as in the film with the ambiguous ending we could not see the if the
Human Project would treat Kee as a person or as a hostile territory Sparling agrees with this
thought as a woman s body being treated as a hostile environment in this apocalyptic world. And yet
the hostile environment is not merely limited to threats of terrorism, famine, natural disaster, and
unsustainability; rather, this hostility is also located in the female body itself, particularly the
womb, which, as we learn, can no longer sustain the fetus But if Kee s body is being looked at as
a hostile territory the female body gets treated as something that women themselves have done, the

documents, or funds. Accountability is concerned primarily with records, while responsibility is
concerned primarily with custody, care, and safekeeping. Why is accountability important to the
Army? Accountability is a very important part of an enlisted and a NCO s job. The enlisted

A soldier must understand that no one will care about his or hers property as much as their
leaders do. When we do a chain of command change over, we must pull 100% of all equipment
that belongs to our platoon and show that we have everything that was hand receipted to us. The
leaders that hold our sub hand receipts will be a mixed bag: some will be great at accounting for
their property; some will not. So as a soldier I should personally ensure that things are done right
.Certainly, the change of command inventory is a critical part of property accountability.
However, a commander is less likely to have problems with property during the change of
command inventory when everyone s attention is on it and the inventory is the commander s

  • 2. Utilitarianism In Criminal Justice Considering the three variations of consequentialist ethics, ethical egoism, contractualism, and utilitarianism: How does these three areas of ethics effect achieving positive means and ends in the criminal justice system? This week s discussion seems to be very interesting and can be looked at many different ways, as we explore the ethical framework we start with consequentialist ethics. This deals with three (3) things, ethical egoism, contractualism, and utilitarianism. This type of ethics asks the following questions: What will happen if I do a certain act? Who will be affected and how would this affect them? How would other alternatives or decisions affect or producer different outcomes (Arrigo Williams, 2008, p. 145)? Something that I found fascinating that should opened up the discussion is the issue that was discussed in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Utilitarianism, this type is very simple and is purely based on happiness, it tends to maximizes all the good in something and minimize all the bad in the act. We all have the desire to be happy and considered this to be the ultimate goal and happiness factor (Arrigo Williams, 2008, p. 146). • 3. How Is Holden Caulfield A Hero Don t ever tell anybody anything. If you do, you start missing everybody (Salinger 214). Much of the story Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger consists of Holden Caulfield s social interactions with others and his adventure home after being expelled from what seems like just another school amongst many in his history. It goes without saying that JD Salinger has made a classic hit novel through the integration of an eccentric main character and an unconventional plot. Although the plot is abnormal, the oddity translates into something noteworthy as the book still retains the noteworthy qualities of any other award winning book. The exposition of Catcher in the Rye depicts troubled youth Holden Caulfield on his last day attending Pencey Prep School forever as he was expelled just before winter break due to his low grades in most of his classes. Holden spends his last day at Pencey in hopes of making some fond memories. However, he ends up receiving an interminable speech about applying himself from his history teacher Dr. Spencer. Why should I give her another five bucks? I said. My voice was cracking all over the place. You re trying to chisel me (Salinger 103). He also gets into a fight with a childhood friend, adding to the tension. We both hated each other s guts by that time. • 4. Accidental Death of an Anarchist Q) Critically analyze the Figure of Madman in Dario Fo s play The Accidental Death of an anarchist. A) Dario Fo s play The Accidental Death of an Anarchist (1970) lies in the category of revolutionary theatre that challenges the fascist regime of Italy. The play is a farce based on events involving a real person, Giuseppe Pinelli, who fell or was thrown from the fourth floor window of a Milan police station in 1969. He was accused of bombing a bank. • 5. Female Sexuality Throughout Shakespeare s Hamlet Hamlet, a tragic play written by Shakespeare in the 1600s, portrays the struggle of young Hamlet in the face of avenging his father s death. While major themes throughout this tragedy include death, loss, madness, revenge, and morality, another important theme to include in discussion is the theme of womanhood. The only two female characters in a cast of thirty five include Queen Gertrudeand Ophelia, both of whom die unfortunate deaths. The importance of womanhood and female sexuality is shown through several literary techniques; though, most importantly, the characters Queen Gertrude and Ophelia are both symbols for female sexuality. Both characters are developed as negative and positive sides to womanhood through dialogue as other characters approach them, their own actions, and most importantly, their individual deaths. Queen Gertrude is the mother to Hamlet, widow to the late King, and new wife to King Claudius as shown within the first act of Hamlet. Following her marriage to King Claudius, her relationship with her son Hamlet becomes strained. Queen Gertrude symbolizes much of what is considered to be a negative aspect of womanhood. To Hamlet, Queen Gertrude is a failure of a woman. Through his dialogue, it is presented that Hamlet desires a woman and mother to be concerned for her family and place tradition above all else. When Hamlet s mother makes a decision outside of that realm and marries King Claudius, Hamlet strives to berate her for her choices. Through ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, one is slightly better than the other when looking at performance increases. An easy way to measure performance increases is to examine the VO2 max of an individual before and after a training period. VO2 maxis the measure of how much oxygen a body can take in from the air. It is a great reflection of physical fitnessbecause it reflects how efficiently a person can use oxygen which is needed for most exercises, especially cardio. This excuse is invalid because interval training can provide just as many health benefits, if not more, than continuous aerobic exercise. Even though interval training has been shown to improve performance in many people, a blend of interval training and continuous aerobic exercise that is designed for an individual s goals is the best approach to implement cardio. Stories can be described through narrative forms, such as if the writing piece is either a short story, a novel or even a poem or narration. Once he became pharaoh and ruler of Egypt s empire in 1378 BCE, he changed his name to Akhenaten, effective spirit of Aten , and was known to the people as the heretic king. Inside the temple was an entirely new style of art, which was often described, as naturalistic in Akhenaten s portrayal of the human body. No longer was the Pharaoh portrayed as half animal with the perfect body fitted for the afterlife. Akhenaten and the royal family were shown with long toes, massive hips, extremely long fingers, skinny torso, ample breasts, big buttocks, and an elongated face. This exaggeration of the royal family s bodies altered classic Egyptian art and became better known as Amarna Art. Another astonishing act to this religious revolution was the Akhenaten s order of the construction of a new capital, far to the north of Thebes known as Amarna, horizon of the sun, claiming the sun god lead him there. A few years after, Akhenaten made the decision to abandon Thebes and ordered his people to pack up and leave behind the city built by his father to receive the blessings of Aten in the city of Amarna. Shortly thereafter, he abolished traditional gods and goddesses, declaring one monotheistic deity, Aten, and introduced in art as a more intimate worship in public and personal settings of the royal family, receiving blessings from Aten, and showing day to day life and activities. The main primary sources in I will be studying are British travel accounts produced between 1790 and 1800. Tim Young provides the basics for travel accounts stating, The guiding principle of this book is that travel writing consists of predominantly factual, first person prose of travels that have been undertaken by the author narrator. It includes discussion of works that some may regard as genre in their own rights... but it distinguishes these from other types of narrative in which travel ins narrated by a third party or is imagined. Young s description of travel narratives allows for accounts that were viewed as accurate in their time such as Jonathan Swift s Gulliver s Travels. Young and Elizabeth Bohls demonstrate the ability for travel narratives to be a combination of several literature genres, and the focus is on the aspects of the traveler rather than the construction of the work in a literary sense. Linda Colley described the process of analysis the documents, But it needs stressing from the start that, while these texts sometimes contain fictional interludes, together of course with a tithe of lies and errors, their overall factual anchorage can usually be tested. Sparling takes this term and puts it to the film to showcase of the biopolitical nature of the movie is one where it feels as though the government, either it be the broken government at the start of the film, or the new possible government of the Human Project , ultimately, as Sparling states, Human Project is a scientific enterprise whose aim to save humanity by developing or finding a cure for infertility males it a possible site of biopower, exercising control over and disciplining individual bodies for the sake of human race. I thought that Sparlings idea of transferring power that the government has on Kee s body to just another government made sense, as in the film with the ambiguous ending we could not see the if the Human Project would treat Kee as a person or as a hostile territory Sparling agrees with this thought as a woman s body being treated as a hostile environment in this apocalyptic world. And yet the hostile environment is not merely limited to threats of terrorism, famine, natural disaster, and unsustainability; rather, this hostility is also located in the female body itself, particularly the womb, which, as we learn, can no longer sustain the fetus But if Kee s body is being looked at as a hostile territory the female body gets treated as something that women themselves have done, the female body in Cuaron s ...
