This document discusses a study on the relationship between childhood experiences and future environmental behaviors. It reviews literature showing that having positive experiences in nature as a child, such as through free play, storytelling, or a mentor, can influence someone to develop environmental attitudes or behaviors later in life. The current study examines how factors like where and how children played from ages 1-14, as well as their exposure to environmental media, may impact their current level of environmentalism as college students. The document provides background on environmentalism, discusses relevant previous studies, and outlines the methods and results sections of the current study.
