This document analyzes the word typology of the Kokborok language spoken in Tripura, India. Kokborok shares similarities with other Tibeto-Burman languages of the region in its word structure and features of word formation. Kokborok words are typically composed of a prefix and suffix, with the suffix playing an influential role. Kinship terms, words for body parts, animals, and birds follow this prefix-suffix pattern. Adjectives are formed by prefixing verbs, and compound nouns are created from combinations of nouns and verbs. Overall, the analysis finds Kokborok has acquired agglutinative characteristics over time while retaining some ancestral analytical features in its word structure.
