Editor's Notes

  • #4 Geographies: Azure regions are organized into 4 geographies actually (Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa). An Azure geography ensures that data residency, sovereignty, compliance, and resiliency requirements are honored within geographical boundaries.
  • #5 A Region is a set of datacenters deployed within a latency-defined perimeter and connected through a dedicated regional low-latency network. A Location represents the city or area of the Azure Region. Each Azure Region is paired with another region within the same geography. This makes them a regional pair (e.g. West Europe with North Europe). As an example for Europe: The Azure Geography “Europe” contains multiple Azure Regions, such as “North Europe”, “West Europe”, etc. The location of West Europe is “Amsterdam”, North Europe is “Dublin”. Amsterdam and Dublin are the regional pairs Examples of region pairs in Azure are West US paired with East US, and SouthEast Asia paired with East Asia.
  • #11 Azure prefers at least 480 kilometers / 300 miles of separation between datacenters in a regional pair, although this isn’t practical or possible in all geographies. Think of Switzerland, a country where it only takes 350 kilometers from one end to the other. … Microsoft does not disclose the exact location, but every region as a location/city associated. Datacenters: physical buildings where compute, network and storage resources are hosted, and service operated.   • #14 Availability Sets: Azure’da bulunan iş yüklerinin aynı veri merkezi içerisinde farklı host ve rack kabinlerde tutulmasını sağlar. VM’lerinizin donanımsal arızalara karşı korunmasını ve Back-end’te gerçekleştirilebilecek güncelleme ve bakım işlemlerinin sanal makinanızın performansını ve erişebilirliğini ektilenmeden uygulanmasını sağlayan mantıksal gruplardır. Bu mantıksal gruplar Update Domains ve Fault Domainsolarak adlandırılır. Update Domains (UD): Azure veri merkezi içerisindeki aynı anda yeniden başlatılabilecek ve bakıma alınabilecek mantıksal VM gruplardır. Fault Domains (FD): Azure veri merkezi içerisinde aynı donanımsal kaynakları (Power ve soğutma gibi) kullanan mantıksal VM gruplarıdır.
