Hoje, mesmo diante de expressivos avanços em políticas e reconhecimento do direto à cidade, observa-se ainda o uso de modelos de planejamento urbano excludentes e poluentes. Qual a cidade que queremos? Mais que isto, qual cidade precisamos?
Para contribuir neste debate, urbanistas, cientistas, artistas, ativistas, hackers e jovens de todas idades do Brasil e do mundo confluirão na cidade estuário - Recife. De 24 a 27 de novembro, o Urban Thinkers Campus Recife (UTC Recife) reunirá contribuições a fim de colaborar com o debate global da Nova Agenda Urbana. O documento será finalizado durante a conferência da ONU Habitat III - Conferência das Nações Unidas sobre Moradia e Desenvolvimento Urbano Sustentável, em 2016, que acontecerá em Quito, Equador.
O UTC Recife ocorrerá também online, o que possibilita o acompanhamento e as contribuições dos interessados em qualquer parte do Brasil e do mundo. Neste processo aberto e coletivo, enfatiza-se o papel e o protagonismo da juventude a partir da apropriação de culturas e tecnologias livres, inventivas, reapropriáveis e compartilháveis.
