•   President von Hindenburg of Germany dies of natural
    causes, allowing Hitler to become the head of state and
    government of Germany. Hitler begins to recreate the
    German Constitution to fit his own needs. He also
    begins to round up political opponents. Also, realizing
    the value of Jewish scientists, the Nazis begin rounding
    up scientists such as Albert Einstein, Edward Teller, etc.
•   In the Soviet Union, Iosef Stalin is convinced by
    Mikhail Kalini to end collectivism and the Five Year
    Plan.
•   Francisco Franco rises to power as head of the
    revolutionaries in Spain.
1934

•   Hitler continues excessive amendments to the
    Constitution to grant himself more power in Germany.
    The Nazis begin to take over the German police,
    military, and political power. Meanwhile, Kristallnacht
    (Night of Long Knives) takes place.
•   In India, the Free Indian Army begins to march against
    the British, demanding independence.
•   The Holodomor slows down in the Soviet Union. It is
    estimated almost 2 million people have died. The
    Second Five Year Plan begins. Trotsky continues to
    grow as a major power in Soviet politics.

•   The Export Control Act is passed in the United States,
    restricting oil, iron, and steel exports to Japan.
•   Persecution of the Jews goes into full swing in Germany.
    Hitler has the support of most of the population. Rearmament
    also continues in Germany.
•   The Second Five Year Plan continues in full swing in the
    Soviet Union. Stalin, who is blind to the rising Trotskyism,
    turns his attention outside and begins to assist Sheng Shicai in
    Xinjiang in the hopes of setting up a Chinese puppet.
•   In Argentina, plans are made for a unified South America
    under the Confederation of Latin America (CoLA)
•   In Ethiopia, the military begins to be built up in case of
    European colonization.
•   Japan begins the invasion of Manchuria.

•   In the United States, the embargo against Japan
    continues as their military experts believe it will bring
    Japan’s military to a crashing halt.
•   A Fascist uprising begins in France.
•   Extreme rearmament continues in Germany. Military
    spending is increased by 34% while many young men
    are drafted into the Wehrmacht. The Kerigsmarine and
    the Luftwaffe are built up as well; especially the
    Luftwaffe, since air superiority is critical in Blitzkreig.

•   In Japan, the war against China continues. More and
    more military personnel are sent to the front. The secret
    police continues to hunt down Communists.
•   An alliance is signed between Mexico and Argentina as
    Mexico joins the Confederation of Latin America.

•   In Australia, military development continues as
    Australia gears up for a possible war.
•   In the Soviet Union, industry continues to flourish as the
    Second Five Year Plan continues forward. Meanwhile,
    Trotsky returns to Russia under the name of Ivan
    Fedorovich Ulyanov and begins to plot an uprising
    against Stalin.

    Chinese, taking much of the Chinese East Coast as well
    as Taiwan.
•   In the United States, the Hoover Dam is completed.
    Meanwhile, the Export Act continues to restrict military
    supplies to the Japanese. The Lend-Lease program
    begins to send military supplies to the Chinese.
•   In Spain, the anti-Fascists barely get reelected to the
    presidency. The Fascists continue to clash with the
    Republicans.

•   In Australia, the military continues to be improved as
    well as the industry.
•   The Japanese continue to push into China with over 2
    million troops.
•   In India, the Free Indian Army continues their
    harassment of British forces there, taking Mumbai and
    the seat of power.

•   The Australian military stretches its muscles as it
    invades East Timor. After “searching for dangerous war
    materials,” the force withdraws and apologizes to
    Portugal.
•   The Japanese fruitlessly try to create conflict between
    the Australians and Portuguese.
•   Trotsky begins to stage some anti-Stalin activities in the
    Soviet Union.
•   Enrico Fermi flees to Sweden where he can experiment
    freely away from the oppression of Mussolini.
    Meanwhile, a terrorist attack takes out the Swedish
    parliament, causing a new party to rise: The Nationalist-
    Socialist-Liberals.

•   Australia continues building up their military and
    industry.
•   The Mexican government is overthrown and a Fascist
    takes the throne. An Emperor is installed.
•   Germany peacefully merges with Austria in an
    anschluss. They make plans to “merge” with
    Czechoslovakia.

•   Sweden continues military expansion. The Nationalist-
    Socialists pass the Four Year Vitalization Plan, which is
    similar to the Nazi Four Year Plan.
•   An assassination attempt on Francis Franco fails. Franco
    launches the Spanish Civil War, using the military to
    take over much of the government.
•   After no response from either the British or the French,
    German troops march into Czechoslovakia, taking over
    Sudetenland. The rest of Czechoslovakia falls shortly.
•   In reaction to the German invasion of Czechoslovakia,
    the United Kingdom and France declares war on
    Germany.
