This document discusses autonomy and complexity through examples from Greece and Ecuador. It examines initiatives and projects in both countries that explore bottom-up and top-down approaches to governance, including universities, research centers, parks, and communities working on open knowledge, rights to land, and sustainable living. Case studies highlighted include Yachay and IKIAM in Ecuador, Navarinou Park and Elpidohori in Greece, and how they investigate autonomous and complex social systems through both grassroots and institutional frameworks.
