1. AutoNation: Coconut Creek, Florida
After the successful completion of the Los Olas Center project for Wayne Huizenga of Huizenga Holdings, our business
relationship allowed us to secure a multiple state multi project agreement for the design-build of one (1) automobile
reconditioning plant and eleven (11) retail outlets.
The Coconut Creek project was the prototype. Our team held weekly meetings with all parties to ensure that our design
met the needs of our client. We become “experts” in the field of used car sales, from fleet purchases to warranty, to
ensure that our team would not only ask the appropriate questions of our designer and client but to also offer feedback
for the ideas of the same. This was all done to help our client become successful in a new market and field.
We selected a site for the vehicle reconditioning plant that was not only adjacent to the I-95 corridor but had two
Southern-Pacific rail lines with 500 yards of the property line allowing us to incorporate a rail spur into the design.
During the balance of the project, we moved into the reviewer’s role, reviewing and performing budget scenarios for
various sites around the South. This also extended to visiting the sites upon final selection and prior to commitment.
We maintained a dedicated relationship with our client and a tight budget and schedule across multiple projects and
states. Only two out of the eleven stores required a budget updated due to subsurface conditions and all were
constructed within the original project scheduled timeframe.
