This document describes the design of an automatic water tank cleaning machine. The machine uses a gear motor, four-bar linkage mechanism, rack and pinion system, and polyvinyl chloride brushes to clean cylindrical water tanks. The four-bar linkage adjusts to the diameter of the tank and rotates via the motor shaft to scrub the tank walls with the brushes. The rack and pinion allows the entire mechanism to move up and down to clean the entire interior surface. The goal is to reduce human effort and time required for cleaning tanks compared to manual cleaning methods. An evaluation found the automatic cleaner was more effective and safer than conventional cleaning methods.
