In recent years, Augmented Reality (AR) has received increasing emphasis and researchers gradually promote it Over the worlds. With the unique abilities to generate virtual objects over the real-world environment, it can enhance user perception. Although AR recognised for their enormous positive impacts, there are still a ton of matters waiting to be discovered. Research studies on AR toward conceptual change, specifically in scientific concept, are particularly limited. Therefore, this research aims to investigate the effect of integrating AR on conceptual change in scientific concepts. Thirty-four primary school students participated in the study. A pre-test and post-test were used to assess participants’ understanding of the scientific concepts before and after learning through AR. The findings demonstrated that 82% among them had misconceptions about the scientific concepts before learning through AR. However, most of them (around 88%) able to correct their misconceptions and shifted to have a scientific conceptual understanding after learning through AR. These findings indicate that AR was effective to be integrated into education to facilitate conceptual change.

Information and communication Technology are used of electronic means which involve access storage, processing of electronic technology to handling of information, the various forms of uses it’s in order to improve Jordanian learning. The study aimed to investigate the uses and effect of ICTs for Jordanian learning from their perspective of student of higher school at the north of Jordan. The study method was a descriptive survey which uses questionnaire to collect data, questionnaire was justified and developed by the researcher to measure the effect of ICTs based on previous studies its applied to (548) student of higher school. The study was using SPSS to analyses data. The results indicate that ICTs for higher school at the north of Jordan there were a statistically significant relationship between the higher school at the north of Jordan and Jordanian learning, and seven of hypotheses reported statistically significant in the hypotheses and accepted but three hypotheses reported no a statistically significant and rejected. The study have Conclusion should gives more attention to focus on and beneficial of using ICTs applications.
This study aims to determine the views of students majoring in mathematics education and natural science faculty of teacher training and education science at Universitas Jambi to use electronic’s module in physics practicum which is based on science process skills. The study involved 117 students majoring in mathematics education and science which consists of 59 students of physical education and 58 students of mathematics education. This research is descriptive quantitative research in order to obtain information mean (M), median (Me), mode (Mo), percentage, the range of the maximum value and the minimum value. Data was collected by using questionnaires and interviews. Based on the research results from students’ perceptions of physical education in good category at 64.4% while the student's perception of mathematics education in good category amounting to 55.2%.
Data science for digital culture improvement in higher education using K-mean...IJECEIAES
This study aims to investigate the meaningful pattern that can be used to improve digital culture in higher education based on parameters of the technology acceptance model (TAM). The methodology used is the data mining technique with K-means algorithm and text analytics. The experiment using questionnaire data with 2887 respondents in Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. The data analysis and clustering result show that the perceived usefulness and behavioral intention to use information systems are above the normal value, while the perceived ease of use and actual system use is quite low. Strengthened with text analytics, this research found that the EDA and K-means result in harmony with the hope or desire of academic society the information system implementation. This research also found how important the socialization and guidance of information systems, especially the new one information system, in order to improve digital culture in higher education.

Bring Your Own Technology: The Effect of Student-Owned Technology on Student...Patrick Boyd, Ed.D.
The purpose of this ethnographic research study was to investigate the effect of a Bring Your Own Technology (BYOT) policy on student engagement in a high school setting through classroom observations, cross-sectional surveys, and a focus group of technology teacher leaders. The qualitative and quantitative data gleaned from this study indicated no significant difference in student engagement levels when student-owned technology was used for instructional purposes, but student engagement increased with teacher support and efficacy with technology, student-directed learning, and utilization of Web 2.0 applications. The findings of this study will inform future decision making by school districts considering BYOT policies, assist teachers with technology-based instructional design, and contribute to the literature on student engagement with instructional technology.

An e-Readiness Assessment of ICT Integration in Public Primary Schools in Ken...Editor IJCATR
In primary schools, information and communication technologies (ICT) are widely seen as tools for enhancing learning. This expectation increases their rapid diffusion and adoption throughout developing countries. Despite the strong emphasis given to ICTs in education, little has been done to evaluate e-readiness as a factor that influences ICT integration in primary schools in Kenya. This study sought to evaluate e- readiness of ICT integration in public primary schools in Nyeri Central Sub-County, Kenya. The study adopted descriptive survey design. The targeted population was 376 subjects comprising of 375 teachers in the 23 public primary schools in Nyeri Central Sub-county and one Sub-county director of education. 11 schools were sampled through simple random sampling technique. The SCDE and the head-teachers of every school sampled were purposively selected. 66 teachers were randomly sampled, making the sample size of 78 respondents. Data collection was done using questionnaires, interview and observations. There was a response rate of 100%. The results indicated moderate readiness in adopting ICT in public primary school in Nyeri Central Sub-county. This would be enhanced if the government would expedite the process of procurement and installation of the digital hardware and software in the schools and also, plan on how all public primary teachers would be re-trained on ICT application on the primary education curricula.

Abstract: This study highlights on the findings of a survey study which was done in some schools within one of the sub-counties in Kenya. Evidence has been collected through a literature review, teacher questionnaires and interviews. The main purpose of this study was to investigate the existing factors that support or hinder teachers from utilizing ICTs in their classrooms despite having them. This study was guided by the theory of Technology acceptance model by Davis, Bagozzi and Warshaw, (1989).The study reviewed literature on the importance of the use of ICTs in teaching and learning. Descriptive survey is the framework that guided the study. The study area is Kericho County in Kenya. Analysis of data was done thematically to exhibit the attitudes, values and views of the teachers concerning the usefulness of ICTs in teaching and also the factors that hinder utilization ICTs. Descriptive statistics was also used to analyze data from questionnaires. The literature analyzed shows that ICTs are very important in the following areas: they make the lessons more interesting, easier, more fun for teachers and their pupils, more diverse, more motivating for the pupils and more enjoyable. Additional more personal factors were improving presentation of materials, allowing greater access to computers for personal use, giving more power to the teacher in the school, giving the teacher more prestige, making the teachers' administration more efficient and providing professional support through the Internet. The findings from this study reveals that factors hindering the utilization of this precious teaching materials includes, lack of clarity in the use of this ICTs in the curriculum, time factor, incompetence among the teachers on computer skills, overreliance on traditional methods of teaching and resistance to change.
The Big data concept emerged to meet the growing demands in analysing large
volumes of fast moving, heterogeneous and complex data, which traditional data
analysis systems could not manage further. The application of big data technology
across various sectors of the economy has aided better utilization of multiple data
collated and hence decision making. Organizations no longer base operations on
assumptions or constructed models solely, but can make inferences from generated
data. Educational organizations are more efficient and the pedagogical processes
more effective, when multiple streams of data can be collated from the various
personnel and facilitators involved. This data when analysed, maximizes the
performance of administrators andrecipients alike. This paper looks at the
components and techniques in bigdata technology, and how it can be implemented in
the education system for effective administration and delivery

Recently media that is used on mathematic study is just board and printed book. Usually teacher uses, modelling tool to visualize study objects like geometry, but students must be in alternatively to fulfill that demand requires application which can deliver 3-dimension geometry to emphasize students understanding of volume and surface area. This research will implement based tracking marker method on textbook and develop geometry study application based on augmented reality, it is called “Magic Boosed”. The existence of AR combination technology, then geometry which will be taught by teacher to elementary school student will be more interesting and make students are easier to learn shape and geometry formulas, this is evident from data analysis test on student learning improvement using kolmogorov-smirnov testing.
In this experimental study, AR book app is used to improve student learning outcome of kindergarten in animal introduction subject. AR book app is an application based on Augmented Reality (AR) technology that adapts the kindergarten curriculum in Indonesia. AR book app has included 3D view and animal video. 3D based learning makes it easy for students to visualize learning materials and video based learning to makes students give attention when learning activity. In a field experiment at kindergarten, 111 kindergarten students was divided into two groups participated in learning activity that using different learning media. The two groups were group A and group B. Group A is an experimental group which taught using Augmented Reality (AR) book app. Group B is control group which taught using group note methods. Experimental result showed that students’ performance in learning improved significantly by using Augmented Reality (AR) book app media. In this study, students indicated that the experimental group learning outcome is better than the control group.
A STUDY ON THE EFFECT OF ONLINE TEACHING IN HIGHER EDUCATIONIAEME Publication
The Covid-19 pandemic caused a great deal of fear among people all across the world, and the education sector was no exception. In particular for the educational institutions that were entirely offline, this caused a fast, drastic shift from "brick and mortar" to online instruction. The current research study compares face-to-face instruction to online instruction to understand the students' perspectives. Graduate students (UG & PG) from particular educational institutions in Hyderabad were asked to fill out a Google form survey questionnaire in order to obtain primary data. As a result, the current study also assessed how satisfied students were with their performance on numerous metrics, such as their acquisition of graduate-level competencies, which include knowledge, abilities, and behaviour.

There has been done little research to validate the utility and usability of virtual and augmented reality
environments. The evaluation of usability of these new technologies is very important to design systems that
are more intuitive than a traditional method. Such an evaluation is also important for future development
of applications that can gain from this new technology. The augmented reality (AR) is a technology that
embedded virtual object (video, picture and 3D object) to the user view the real world. The combination of
AR technology with the educational content creates new type of automated applications and acts to
enhance the effectiveness and attractiveness of teaching and learning for students in real life scenarios. The
study aims to improve the teaching methods used in secondary school by employing modern educational
technology and thus assess the effectiveness of AR apps in teaching students the physics experiments.
Therefore, in this study we took the challenge of adapting this technology to facilitate physics subject in
secondary school.

Integration of Phet Interactive Simulations in Online Synchronous and Asynchr...ijtsrd
The rife of technology nowadays hugely influences the way various disciplines are taught and learned in the classroom, and Science is no exemption to that. Cognizant of this, the present study aimed to investigate the impact of integrating the PhET simulations through online synchronous and asynchronous teaching of science on the learner’s science process skills. A total of 60 Grade 8 learners of Sto. Niño National High School were purposively chosen according to their learning abilities and were randomly grouped into two the online synchronous group and asynchronous group. Applying the two group pre test and post test design model, the study utilized a validated test questionnaire along with a validated self made survey questionnaire. Obtained post test achievement results have revealed the positive effect of integrating PhET simulation in online synchronous and asynchronous teaching of Grade 8 Science in distance learning. Furthermore, no significant difference was deduced between the two teaching methods with a P value of .057 which signifies the two teaching methods viability in the teaching of Science integrated with PhET simulation. Moreover, this study concludes that PhET simulation improves the learners’ science process skills as perceived by the learners. The learners’ agreement rate of both groups is high in the statement items in the perceptual questionnaire. Thereby, the study highly recommends the integration of PhET simulation in the teaching of Science to make teaching and learning more engaging, interactive and effective in this era of massive technological advancement. Animal science is an essential curriculum in animal husbandry and veterinary professional education. This study delved into the use of ICT in teaching animal science using blended learning and the benefits of blended learning for teachers and students. The study utilized a descriptive survey design. The target population consisted of animal science students and teachers selected colleges of education in the Volta region. The population of Agric science students was 100, and the Agric science tutors in the three colleges were 20. With the use of Yamane formula, the sample size was 80 and 19 respectively for students and the teachers. The fundamental instrument for data collection was questionnaires. Four and five scaled Likert like tests were designed to elicit information on the level of ICT skill of teachers and their students, and on benefits of blended learning to teachers and students respectively. The information gathered was analyzed using SPSS version 21 and the hypotheses were tested using Analysis of Covariance. The result established that both teachers and students of animal science department in the Colleges that participated in the study, are skilled in ICT and that both teachers and students benefited from using blended learning model in teaching animal science in colleges of education in Ghana. It was also discovered from hypothesis tested that no significant difference existed between the ICT skill level of teachers and students, and no significant difference also existed between the level of benefit derived from blended learning by both teachers and students. It was concluded that both teachers and students of animal science in the colleges of education in Ghana benefited from blended learning model because they are skilled in ICT. Hence, it was recommended that teachers and students must be well trained to acquire sufficient ICT skills in the usage of basic ICT applications in order to obtain the full benefits of the blended learning model.

This 2015 article looks at the discoveries from a study of an Indiana research and teaching university, focusing on the student’s practices with mobile technologies. The findings were based on, and cross examined with a previous similar study of British students that was undertaken 9 years prior. Key ideas demonstrated are the technological influence of mLearning in the tertiary education environment, carried out with intentions of providing infrastructure integration techniques and insight to educators, by identifying characteristics and patterns within the mobile technology utilization of the student body. The study touches on student perceptions of mobile learning, the most popular method of communicating and the benefits. A limitation to this study include lack of personal interviews with students to provide concurrent opinions of findings presented, and an uncertain means of accumulating data by use of an anonymous online poll. A further limitation includes lack of an in-depth explanation to the conclusion that laptops are the most preferred tool amongst the participants. The transposition process is needed in cryptography to create a diffusion effect on data encryption standard (DES) and advanced encryption standard (AES) algorithms as standard information security algorithms by the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The problem with DES and AES algorithms is that their transposition index values form patterns and do not form random values. This condition will certainly make it easier for a cryptanalyst to look for a relationship between ciphertexts because some processes are predictable. This research designs a transposition algorithm called square transposition. Each process uses square 8 × 8 as a place to insert and retrieve 64-bits. The determination of the pairing of the input scheme and the retrieval scheme that have unequal flow is an important factor in producing a good transposition. The square transposition can generate random and non-pattern indices so that transposition can be done better than DES and AES.

Deep neural networks have accomplished enormous progress in tackling many problems. More specifically, convolutional neural network (CNN) is a category of deep networks that have been a dominant technique in computer vision tasks. Despite that these deep neural networks are highly effective; the ideal structure is still an issue that needs a lot of investigation. Deep Convolutional Neural Network model is usually designed manually by trials and repeated tests which enormously constrain its application. Many hyper-parameters of the CNN can affect the model performance. These parameters are depth of the network, numbers of convolutional layers, and numbers of kernels with their sizes. Therefore, it may be a huge challenge to design an appropriate CNN model that uses optimized hyper-parameters and reduces the reliance on manual involvement and domain expertise. In this paper, a design architecture method for CNNs is proposed by utilization of particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm to learn the optimal CNN hyper-parameters values. In the experiment, we used Modified National Institute of Standards and Technology (MNIST) database of handwritten digit recognition. The experiments showed that our proposed approach can find an architecture that is competitive to the state-of-the-art models with a testing error of 0.87%.
Supervised machine learning based liver disease prediction approach with LASS...journalBEEI
In this contemporary era, the uses of machine learning techniques are increasing rapidly in the field of medical science for detecting various diseases such as liver disease (LD). Around the globe, a large number of people die because of this deadly disease. By diagnosing the disease in a primary stage, early treatment can be helpful to cure the patient. In this research paper, a method is proposed to diagnose the LD using supervised machine learning classification algorithms, namely logistic regression, decision tree, random forest, AdaBoost, KNN, linear discriminant analysis, gradient boosting and support vector machine (SVM). We also deployed a least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) feature selection technique on our taken dataset to suggest the most highly correlated attributes of LD. The predictions with 10 fold cross-validation (CV) made by the algorithms are tested in terms of accuracy, sensitivity, precision and f1-score values to forecast the disease. It is observed that the decision tree algorithm has the best performance score where accuracy, precision, sensitivity and f1-score values are 94.295%, 92%, 99% and 96% respectively with the inclusion of LASSO. Furthermore, a comparison with recent studies is shown to prove the significance of the proposed system.

The research domain for wireless sensor networks (WSN) has been extensively conducted due to innovative technologies and research directions that have come up addressing the usability of WSN under various schemes. This domain permits dependable tracking of a diversity of environments for both military and civil applications. The key management mechanism is a primary protocol for keeping the privacy and confidentiality of the data transmitted among different sensor nodes in WSNs. Since node's size is small; they are intrinsically limited by inadequate resources such as battery life-time and memory capacity. The proposed secure and energy saving protocol (SESP) for wireless sensor networks) has a significant impact on the overall network life-time and energy dissipation. To encrypt sent messsages, the SESP uses the public-key cryptography’s concept. It depends on sensor nodes' identities (IDs) to prevent the messages repeated; making security goals- authentication, confidentiality, integrity, availability, and freshness to be achieved. Finally, simulation results show that the proposed approach produced better energy consumption and network life-time compared to LEACH protocol; sensors are dead after 900 rounds in the proposed SESP protocol. While, in the low-energy adaptive clustering hierarchy (LEACH) scheme, the sensors are dead after 750 rounds.
Plant leaf identification system using convolutional neural networkjournalBEEI
This paper proposes a leaf identification system using convolutional neural network (CNN). This proposed system can identify five types of local Malaysia leaf which were acacia, papaya, cherry, mango and rambutan. By using CNN from deep learning, the network is trained from the database that acquired from leaf images captured by mobile phone for image classification. ResNet-50 was the architecture has been used for neural networks image classification and training the network for leaf identification. The recognition of photographs leaves requested several numbers of steps, starting with image pre-processing, feature extraction, plant identification, matching and testing, and finally extracting the results achieved in MATLAB. Testing sets of the system consists of 3 types of images which were white background, and noise added and random background images. Finally, interfaces for the leaf identification system have developed as the end software product using MATLAB app designer. As a result, the accuracy achieved for each training sets on five leaf classes are recorded above 98%, thus recognition process was successfully implemented.
Customized moodle-based learning management system for socially disadvantaged...journalBEEI
This study aims to develop Moodle-based LMS with customized learning content and modified user interface to facilitate pedagogical processes during covid-19 pandemic and investigate how teachers of socially disadvantaged schools perceived usability and technology acceptance. Co-design process was conducted with two activities: 1) need assessment phase using an online survey and interview session with the teachers and 2) the development phase of the LMS. The system was evaluated by 30 teachers from socially disadvantaged schools for relevance to their distance learning activities. We employed computer software usability questionnaire (CSUQ) to measure perceived usability and the technology acceptance model (TAM) with insertion of 3 original variables (i.e., perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and intention to use) and 5 external variables (i.e., attitude toward the system, perceived interaction, self-efficacy, user interface design, and course design). The average CSUQ rating exceeded 5.0 of 7 point-scale, indicated that teachers agreed that the information quality, interaction quality, and user interface quality were clear and easy to understand. TAM results concluded that the LMS design was judged to be usable, interactive, and well-developed. Teachers reported an effective user interface that allows effective teaching operations and lead to the system adoption in immediate time.

Dynamic learning environment has emerged as a powerful platform in a modern e-learning system. The learning situation that constantly changing has forced the learning platform to adapt and personalize its learning resources for students. Evidence suggested that adaptation and personalization of e-learning systems (APLS) can be achieved by utilizing learner modeling, domain modeling, and instructional modeling. In the literature of APLS, questions have been raised about the role of individual characteristics that are relevant for adaptation. With several options, a new problem has been raised where the attributes of students in APLS often overlap and are not related between studies. Therefore, this study proposed a list of learner model attributes in dynamic learning to support adaptation and personalization. The study was conducted by exploring concepts from the literature selected based on the best criteria. Then, we described the results of important concepts in student modeling and provided definitions and examples of data values that researchers have used. Besides, we also discussed the implementation of the selected learner model in providing adaptation in dynamic learning.

One way to prevent and reduce the spread of the covid-19 pandemic is through physical distancing program. This research aims to develop a prototype contactless transaction system using digital payment mechanisms and QR code technology that will be applied in traditional markets. The method used in the development of electronic market systems is a prototype approach. The application of QR code and digital payments are used as a solution to minimize money exchange contacts that are common in traditional markets. The results showed that the system built was able to accelerate and facilitate the buying and selling transaction process in traditional market environment. Alpha testing shows that all functional systems are running well. Meanwhile, beta testing shows that the user can very well accept the system that was built. The results of the study also show acceptance of the usefulness of the system being built, as well as the optimism of its users to be able to take advantage of this system both technologically and functionally, so its can be a part of the digital transformation of the traditional market to the electronic market and has become one of the solutions in reducing the spread of the current covid-19 pandemic.

The use of a real-time operating system is required for the demarcation of industrial wireless sensor network (IWSN) stacks (RTOS). In the industrial world, a vast number of sensors are utilised to gather various types of data. The data gathered by the sensors cannot be prioritised ahead of time. Because all of the information is equally essential. As a result, a protocol stack is employed to guarantee that data is acquired and processed fairly. In IWSN, the protocol stack is implemented using RTOS. The data collected from IWSN sensor nodes is processed using non-preemptive scheduling and the protocol stack, and then sent in parallel to the IWSN's central controller. The real-time operating system (RTOS) is a process that occurs between hardware and software. Packets must be sent at a certain time. It's possible that some packets may collide during transmission. We're going to undertake this project to get around this collision. As a prototype, this project is divided into two parts. The first uses RTOS and the LPC2148 as a master node, while the second serves as a standard data collection node to which sensors are attached. Any controller may be used in the second part, depending on the situation. Wireless HART allows two nodes to communicate with each other.
Implementation of double-layer loaded on octagon microstrip yagi antennajournalBEEI
A double-layer loaded on the octagon microstrip yagi antenna (OMYA) at 5.8 GHz industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) Band is investigated in this paper. The double-layer consist of two double positive (DPS) substrates. The OMYA is overlaid with a double-layer configuration were simulated, fabricated and measured. A good agreement was observed between the computed and measured results of the gain for this antenna. According to comparison results, it shows that 2.5 dB improvement of the OMYA gain can be obtained by applying the double-layer on the top of the OMYA. Meanwhile, the bandwidth of the measured OMYA with the double-layer is 14.6%. It indicates that the double-layer can be used to increase the OMYA performance in term of gain and bandwidth.

In this work, a numerical calculation was carried out in one of the universal programs for automatic electro-dynamic design. The calculation is aimed at obtaining numerical values for specific absorbed power (SAR). It is the SAR value that can be used to determine the effect of the antenna of a wireless device on biological objects; the dipole parameters will be selected for GSM1800. Investigation of the influence of distance to a cell phone on radiation shows that absorbed in the head of a person the effect of electromagnetic radiation on the brain decreases by three times this is a very important result the SAR value has decreased by almost three times it is acceptable results.

In this paper, we study uplink-downlink non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) systems by considering the secure performance at the physical layer. In the considered system model, the base station acts a relay to allow two users at the left side communicate with two users at the right side. By considering imperfect channel state information (CSI), the secure performance need be studied since an eavesdropper wants to overhear signals processed at the downlink. To provide secure performance metric, we derive exact expressions of secrecy outage probability (SOP) and and evaluating the impacts of main parameters on SOP metric. The important finding is that we can achieve the higher secrecy performance at high signal to noise ratio (SNR). Moreover, the numerical results demonstrate that the SOP tends to a constant at high SNR. Finally, our results show that the power allocation factors, target rates are main factors affecting to the secrecy performance of considered uplink-downlink NOMA systems.
Design of a dual-band antenna for energy harvesting applicationjournalBEEI
This report presents an investigation on how to improve the current dual-band antenna to enhance the better result of the antenna parameters for energy harvesting application. Besides that, to develop a new design and validate the antenna frequencies that will operate at 2.4 GHz and 5.4 GHz. At 5.4 GHz, more data can be transmitted compare to 2.4 GHz. However, 2.4 GHz has long distance of radiation, so it can be used when far away from the antenna module compare to 5 GHz that has short distance in radiation. The development of this project includes the scope of designing and testing of antenna using computer simulation technology (CST) 2018 software and vector network analyzer (VNA) equipment. In the process of designing, fundamental parameters of antenna are being measured and validated, in purpose to identify the better antenna performance.

eXtensible markup language (XML) appeared internationally as the format for data representation over the web. Yet, most organizations are still utilising relational databases as their database solutions. As such, it is crucial to provide seamless integration via effective transformation between these database infrastructures. In this paper, we propose XML-REG to bridge these two technologies based on node-based and path-based approaches. The node-based approach is good to annotate each positional node uniquely, while the path-based approach provides summarised path information to join the nodes. On top of that, a new range labelling is also proposed to annotate nodes uniquely by ensuring the structural relationships are maintained between nodes. If a new node is to be added to the document, re-labelling is not required as the new label will be assigned to the node via the new proposed labelling scheme. Experimental evaluations indicated that the performance of XML-REG exceeded XMap, XRecursive, XAncestor and Mini-XML concerning storing time, query retrieval time and scalability. This research produces a core framework for XML to relational databases (RDB) mapping, which could be adopted in various industries.

This paper presents the use of the inverse confidential technique on bilateral function with the territorial intensity-based optical flow to prove the effectiveness in noise resistance environment. In general, the image’s motion vector is coded by the technique called optical flow where the sequences of the image are used to determine the motion vector. But, the accuracy rate of the motion vector is reduced when the source of image sequences is interfered by noises. This work proved that the inverse confidential technique on bilateral function can increase the percentage of accuracy in the motion vector determination by the territorial intensity-based optical flow under the noisy environment. We performed the testing with several kinds of non-Gaussian noises at several patterns of standard image sequences by analyzing the result of the motion vector in a form of the error vector magnitude (EVM) and compared it with several noise resistance techniques in territorial intensity-based optical flow method.

This study aims to model climate change based on rainfall, air temperature, pressure, humidity and wind with grADS software and create a global warming module. This research uses 3D model, define, design, and develop. The results of the modeling of the five climate elements consist of the annual average temperature in Indonesia in 2009-2015 which is between 29oC to 30.1oC, the horizontal distribution of the annual average pressure in Indonesia in 2009-2018 is between 800 mBar to 1000 mBar, the horizontal distribution the average annual humidity in Indonesia in 2009 and 2011 ranged between 27-57, in 2012-2015, 2017 and 2018 it ranged between 30-60, during the East Monsoon, the wind circulation moved from northern Indonesia to the southern region Indonesia. During the west monsoon, the wind circulation moves from the southern part of Indonesia to the northern part of Indonesia. The global warming module for SMA/MA produced is feasible to use, this is in accordance with the value given by the validate of 69 which is in the appropriate category and the response of teachers and students through a 91% questionnaire.

The purpose of this paper is to propose an approach of re-organizing input data to recognize emotion based on short signal segments and increase the quality of emotional recognition using physiological signals. MIT's long physiological signal set was divided into two new datasets, with shorter and overlapped segments. Three different classification methods (support vector machine, random forest, and multilayer perceptron) were implemented to identify eight emotional states based on statistical features of each segment in these two datasets. By re-organizing the input dataset, the quality of recognition results was enhanced. The random forest shows the best classification result among three implemented classification methods, with an accuracy of 97.72% for eight emotional states, on the overlapped dataset. This approach shows that, by re-organizing the input dataset, the high accuracy of recognition results can be achieved without the use of EEG and ECG signals.

Manual system vehicle parking makes finding vacant parking lots difficult, so it has to check directly to the vacant space. If many people do parking, then the time needed for it is very much or requires many people to handle it. This research develops a real-time parking system to detect parking. The system is designed using the HSV color segmentation method in determining the background image. In addition, the detection process uses the background subtraction method. Applying these two methods requires image preprocessing using several methods such as grayscaling, blurring (low-pass filter). In addition, it is followed by a thresholding and filtering process to get the best image in the detection process. In the process, there is a determination of the ROI to determine the focus area of the object identified as empty parking. The parking detection process produces the best average accuracy of 95.76%. The minimum threshold value of 255 pixels is 0.4. This value is the best value from 33 test data in several criteria, such as the time of capture, composition and color of the vehicle, the shape of the shadow of the object’s environment, and the intensity of light. This parking detection system can be implemented in real-time to determine the position of an empty place.

Power plants release a large amount of water vapor into the
atmosphere through the stack. The flue gas can be a potential
source for obtaining much needed cooling water for a power
plant. If a power plant could recover and reuse a portion of this
moisture, it could reduce its total cooling water intake
requirement. One of the most practical way to recover water
from flue gas is to use a condensing heat exchanger. The power
plant could also recover latent heat due to condensation as well
as sensible heat due to lowering the flue gas exit temperature.

Condensation of vapors in flue gas is a complicated
phenomenon since heat and mass transfer of water vapor and
various acids simultaneously occur in the presence of noncondensable
gases such as nitrogen and oxygen. Design of a
condenser depends on the knowledge and understanding of the
heat and mass transfer processes. A computer program for
numerical simulations of water (H2O) and sulfuric acid (H2SO4)
condensation in a flue gas condensing heat exchanger was
developed using MATLAB. Governing equations based on
mass and energy balances for the system were derived to
predict variables such as flue gas exit temperature, cooling
water outlet temperature, mole fraction and condensation rates
of water and sulfuric acid vapors. The equations were solved
using an iterative solution technique with calculations of heat
and mass transfer coefficients and physical properties.

The study investigated the design optimization of these hybrid systems, focusing on understanding solar radiation patterns, identifying geographical influences on solar radiation, formulating a mathematical model for system optimization, and determining the optimal configuration of PV panels and pumped hydro storage. Through a comparative analysis approach and eight weeks of data collection, the study addressed key research questions related to solar radiation patterns and optimal system design. The findings highlighted regions with heightened solar radiation levels, showcasing substantial potential for power generation and emphasizing the system's efficiency. Optimizing system design significantly boosted power generation, promoted renewable energy utilization, and enhanced energy storage capacity. The study underscored the benefits of optimizing hybrid solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems for sustainable energy usage. Optimizing the design of solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems as examined across diverse climatic conditions in a developing country, not only enhances power generation but also improves the integration of renewable energy sources and boosts energy storage capacities, particularly beneficial for less economically prosperous regions. mobile phone.
AR has been applying in the education field to create unique educational learning. According to the
2016 Horizon Reports, AR with its information over 3D spaces can create a new experience and recommend
that AR technologies should apply to bring new opportunities for teaching, learning technique, research and
creative inquiry [6]. AR, with its features attractive 3D animation with sound and haptic sensation, might
attract educational practitioners either student or teacher. Its can increase the interactivity between student
and the learning module as well as their teacher [7]. As regards to the advantages of AR, the digital
augmentation is supplemented into a real scene to give enhancements to the computer simulation and
promote student’s realistic experience.
Despite this, the AR issues of conceptual change, especially in science education with the use of AR
technology are rarely discussed [8]. Markerless and location-based AR widely used for augmenting the
navigation as well as instruction for people [9-12]. Previous studies on science education have revealed that
students frequently hold robust misconceptions that are contrary to actual scientific concepts. These
pretentious ideas labelled as alternative ideas or misconceptions in science education [13]. According to [14]
the alternative frameworks that students possess are opinions and perceptions that differ from the theories
of scientists.
A study conducted over the past 40 years has proven that students face misconceptions issues in
several scientific concepts. Among the main topics often associated with an alternative framework in science
is the astronomy concept. To date, there are many studies conducted in various countries that focus on
astronomical concepts. The findings of most studies show that not only children [15] but also adult learners
[16] also face misconception problems as well as difficulties in explaining the basic natural phenomena. In
traditional method of teaching, educators mostly will devote their period performing teaching [17], and the
learning material based on static materials [18]. Therefore, learners hardly get opportunities to gain more
understanding due to static materials unable to show any information in a dynamic way where the contents
required showing that motion and continuous movement to represent the concept.
With the advancements in technologies, technology-based education has become an important trend
and dramatically affected the teaching and learning process [19]. Through one new visualisation technology
that has emerged, AR may have the potential to situate students in conceptual knowledge development. The
learning capability of AR mostly applied in higher education settings. Thus, research studies on primary
school education are particularly limited [20]. Therefore, this research attempts to explore the potential
impact of AR for schoolchildren’s conceptual change of scientific concepts especially in astronomical
phenomena and concepts.
2. RESEARCH METHOD
To observe the effectiveness of AR on theoretical change, the experimentation performed on
primary school science grade to evaluate the scholars’ conceptual change before and after the instruction. The
selected subject unit was “Investigating the Earth and the Universe” unit of a primary school science course.
2.1. Research design
This research carries out two models of experiments: pre-assessment and post-assessment. This
study examined how student understands was change from misconception to the scientific concept after
learning through AR. This study comprises of three main phases: i) pre-assessment, ii) AR initialisation and
iii) post-assessment.
2.2. Participant
Convenience sampling method was used in this study because of the selection based on the
accessible school. The teachers select students who participated in the survey. Around 34 students (32%
male, 68% female) from one of the fifth-grade primary school in Malaysia involved in this study. The
justification for selected students of this grade due to them has some of the concepts of astronomy.
2.3. Instruments
The research instruments of this study included the pre-test and post-test for measuring the student’s
concepts before and after the instruction using AR. Pre-assessment and post-assessment: With the resolution
of gathering a thorough information about the students’ conceptual change of astronomy, the pre-test and
post-test were constructed to measure students’ understandings of three targeted astronomy concepts: A
“travel of the earth, moon and sun”, “daylight and nighttime event”, and “moon stages”. The pre-assessment
and post-assessment were the same, but in a different order with multiple-choice items, drawing and labelling

and structured questions. The questions in both tests were referred to the textbooks and teaching materials
and validated by the two experts with science subject.
The AR book developed to help schoolchildren learn and overtake misconceptions about science
concepts. The 3D virtual objects were prepared using an Autodesk Maya, and the AR platform was
developed using Unity 3D. This AR educational tool enabled the webcam/camera to recognise pages in the
book and turn them into 3D presentations. Users can read the book, look at the pictures and turn pages
without any external technology. The only requirement to run this system was basic equipment such as a
laptop/desktop, AR markers and a webcam/camera to view and render all multimedia virtual objects such as
3D virtual objects. The virtual objects can be manipulated using real physical AR markers by just using a
bare hand. This natural interaction is a unique way that AR can offer to bridge the real and virtual worlds.
Each page of the developed AR application consisted of notes, pictures and AR marker that represent the
virtual objects. There are also the instructions listed below the notes part that will guide the user which
marker to use. Once schoolchildren initiate the system, they can start searching and using markers to interact
with virtual objects. The camera will track the pattern on the book and starting to display the 3D model of
earth, sun and moon. This sensation fascinates student to do more interaction with the AR system as shown in
Figure 1.

2.4. Research procedure
Figure 2 illustrates the experimental procedures of this study. While Figure 3 illustrates the settings
of this study in the school laboratory equipped with personal computers and web cameras. Initially, 34
participants sat for the pre-test before the AR treatment. This phase was to determine their conceptions of the
content before given the AR treatment. During the next phase, participants have a brief training on managing
and use AR-System to prevent inappropriate usage and misunderstanding. Firstly, the teacher guided
participants by posing a problem on the related topic. Based on the problem given, the participants were
required to conduct explorations on the topic by referring to AR application. By using the provided AR
application, they have the freedom to employ the concepts where they required deliberating, reflecting and
making inference on the problems given in the learning activity. In the first topic, the participants investigate
the concept of the travel of the Earth, the Sun and the Moon. Five AR markers were prepared in this topic to
represent simulations of computer-generated models. Afterwards, the students will learn on the second topic
which was about the occurrence of the day and night. This topic involved two AR markers to represent the
Sun and the Earth. The participants will explore how the day and night happened by using the AR markers
provided. Phases of moon were the third topic for this research. The participants learned about the eight most
important periods happening to the moon. An AR marker will represent the moon while there are eight
positions of areas presented to demonstrate every stage of the moon. Once the training with AR completed,
each participant was required to sit for post-test to acquire the conceptions after the AR treatment given.

3. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
The conceptions of the participants were assessed before and after the AR treatment by analysing
their responses to the pre-test and post-test. The analysis used to classify the data based on the categorisation
of the responses that classification into the scientific concepts (correct explanation-label as “a”) and
misconception (incorrect explanation-label as “b”).
Table 1 shows the concepts understand by the participants on the travel of the earth, the moon and
the sun before and after interacting with the AR system. First, for the concept of rotation of the earth on its
axis. Looking into the answers (pre-test) before the AR treatment showed that only six students (18%) were
able to provide accurate answers while the majority (82%) failed to provide an accurate answer. After the AR
treatment, the findings demonstrated that all the students manage to provide an accurate answer to the
scientific concept for this concept. Secondly, the concept of the earth rotates around the sun. The answer
shown by the student before the AR treatment showed that only three students gave the correct answer while
the majority (91%) gave the wrong answer, explained the event according to misconceptions that the earth

rotates around the Moon. After a learning session with AR, majority of participants (85%) were able to
provide the correct answers. Out of 31 students who gave incorrect answers before treatment, only 2
participants remained with this idea even after AR treatment session took place. Besides, the findings also
show that no student was able to provide the correct answer for the Moon's rotating on its axis and circulating
around the Earth. But after the treatment, majority of the participants managed to provide an accurate answer.

Table 2 shows the conceptions that participants understand the concept of day and night occurrence
before and after learning session using AR. A look into participants answers on how the day and night occur
before using AR shows that majority of the students (56%) were able to provide accurate answers. Among
the misconceptions answers with the highest percentage (26%) was "the moon rotates on its axis," followed
by "the moon revolves around the earth" (12%) and “the change in climate and weather" (6%).

However, after AR treatment, all students were found to be able to provide accurate answers related to
daylight and evening phenomenon triggered by rotation of the earth on its axis. Also, one of the most
common misconceptions is to identify day and night based on the position of the earth and the sun. A look
into participant’s answers, it was found that majority (44%) able to provide an accurate answer on the day
and night on the earth based on the position and direction of the sun. After learning through AR, the post-test
for this concept shows that the percentage for accurate answers increased to 94%.
Table 3 shows the conceptions of phases of the moon of participants before and after using AR.
Looking into the answers given by the participants to answer questions about the concept of the occurrence
of the phases of the moon; it found that only (6%) participants were able to provide the correct answer. The
majority (79%) provide misconceptions concept by assuming that the periods of the moon happened because
the different moon position during revolving around the sun. Besides, there were also 12% of the participants
who give misconceptions answer by assuming that the phases of the moon occur due to the earth moves
around the sun. However, after learning through AR, majority of participants (85%) were able to give an
accurate answer, and only 15% of participants remained with misconceptions answer despite having
undergone treatment sessions with AR. For the concept of phases of the moon through the diagram, it was
seen that before learning through AR, none of the participants was able to draw the correct diagram to
indicate the phases of the moon. Majority of the participants (68%) showed an incorrect diagram in terms of
position while (32%) showed incorrectly diagram in terms of size and position. After learning through AR,
the findings showed that most of the participants (88%) able to draw the correct diagram in term of position,
size, distance and label. However, there are still a few participants (12%) didn’t correctly draw the diagram.

First of all, through 3D learning: AR application was developed using 3D objects as virtual models
to represent learning content such as the earth, the moon and the sun that can enhance learning experience.
With this unique ability of AR, it allows students to use 3D virtual objects to enrich the visual perception of
the existing environment [21]. AR provides three-dimensional objects that are commonly seen objects in the
real world into student learning. The information presented through texts and images in printed book in two-
dimensional form lost the real-world elements and made the interpretation difficult for some students. The
3D animation virtual objects can be viewed, observed and manipulated from different perspectives to
improve students' understanding [22].
With the unique capabilities of AR to create a 3D model or information imposed toward reality, it
could strengthen the student’s imagination. Imagination and spatial visualisation abilities among primary
school students are generally very limited [23]. Additionally, learning of science subjects that require high
imagination, the use of AR can help students in describing abstract science concepts or difficult phenomena
that hard to be seen and observed using their naked eyes. AR allows students to manipulate virtual objects or
observe phenomena that are difficult to see in our natural environment. This learning experience, in turn,
encourages student-thinking skills and understanding of concepts in abstract phenomena can also be
enhanced and correct misconceptions. AR also supports the comprehension of abstract concepts by providing
unique visuals and interactive experiences that combine real and virtual information and help deliver abstract
problems to students effectively. With AR, instructors can generate virtual objects/graphics with real-world
environments that allow students to interact physically with digital content. Hence, the delivery of AR can
help students understand the concept more effectively. For example, students may find it difficult to
understand the position of the earth from the sun by simply reading the text and looking at two-dimensional
images, but they can increase the understanding of the concept with the use of three-dimensional animation
provided by the AR.
Besides, among other factors that might contribute to the conceptual change was due to advantages
of AR application developed in the form of books with interactivity compared to traditional printed books.
The interaction of AR objects was in real-time, which in turn can increase the perception of immediacy
[24-26]. Future studies also could investigate the implementation of AR in mobile devices platform to the
effectiveness [27, 28]. The students can control the books by rotating the book pages to view virtual objects
from multiple angles and perspectives or by turning the pages to display varying AR content. This
technology can enhance learning with traditional printed books by offering new methods for understanding
the content. The interaction and spatial visualisation capabilities offered by AR books are seen to be
beneficial to the learning process.
4. CONCLUSION
This research aims to explore the augmented reality (AR) implication toward primary school
students’ conceptual change of science concepts. We examined conceptions of primary school students about
three topics in science before and after learning through AR application. The AR application consisted of 3D
animation virtual objects of three targeted astronomy concepts: Travel for earth, moon and sun that cause
daylight and nighttime happening as well as the stage of moon. Findings demonstrated that before learning
through AR, primary school students had some misconceptions on those topics. However, after learning
through AR, most primary school students were able to shift from misconception to accurate explanation of
the content. The findings of study demonstrate AR for learning was considered effective in facilitating
conceptual change. The effects of research allow the teacher to support their pupils using AR system
acquiring new conceptual knowledge and correct their misconceptions. There is drawback of the study that
needs to handle in the future, which is closed observation in small groups to identify the detail implication of
AR toward pupils learning performance.
