they believe that cows are sacred creatures , a lot like Jews who are against eating pigs.

DemographicUK
These results show that over the years the amount of
vegetarians in the UK is slowly growing, with people
now people are becoming more knowledgeable in
this area, and the amount of information that is out
there has improved. Such as different companies
supporting this such as the vegetarian society, the
creation of the food company Quorn also gives
vegetarians more options when it comes to what to
eat seen online, print publications and adverts
broadcast on TV. The number of vegetarians could
have also risen due to the recent horse meat scandal
which hit the news, suggesting that supermarkets
have incorporated into there meat products. Eating
horse was a big deal since they are seen as being
pets. This has caused people to think more about
what they are eating. More and more children are
starting to become vegetarian due to parents
influences, this is a big factor because once people
get influenced from someone else, then it’s more
likely they’ll start being vegetarians themselves. In
2012 there are more children than adults, which
proves this.
USA
These figures show that in America 59% of
vegetarians are women this could because they are
more likely to watch their figure and what they are

are younger because of the influence from peers, and
young people are more body conscious.
