Audience Feedback Analysis
This questions shows if people preferred the
narrative of the performance parts of my
music video. The answers show that more
people preferred the performance parts.
However, during the initial research I found
out that people preferred a stronger narrative
rather than the performance elements.
Everyone who took the survey said that the
narrative and the performance scenes worked
well together. This was good as it meant they
understood the contrast between the scenes.
I then asked people what they liked about the video. The
good thing about this was that everyone gave a different
response which meant that there were lots of good
elements to the video. People liked when I used the
effects in I Movie to do different things e.g. freeze frame
in the performance parts and the overlapping part in the
narrative.
Then I decided to ask people what they did not like about
the video. A lot of the people said the same things that
the shots were very similar. This was good as there were
not many things to improve. However, this criticism
would be hard to improve without re-filming which
means the shots would look different as it would be shot
on a different day.
The next question I asked was if people could
understand the theme of my narrative in my
music video. Everyone who took the survey
answered yes meaning the understood that
the theme was abuse within relationships.
This was good as it meant nothing needed to
be changed for this part of the video.
I also wanted to find out if people could tell what
genre the music video was from and if it linked
well with that genre. The feedback from the
survey shows that everyone understood that it
was from the Indie Rock genre and thought the
video worked well with the genre.
The final questioned that I asked were if there were any improvements that I could make to
the video to make it better. Two people said that I could use more camera angles as a lot of
them are very similar. Changing the shots, especially in the narrative mean that they can
convey different meanings. One person also wanted me to add more characters into the
video. However, I decided against this as I wanted the focus to remain and the girl and the
boy and the relationship that they have with each other. I felt that if I added more
characters it would draw the attention away from this. I also did not want to add any more
characters into the performance parts as I wanted the audience to connect with the artist.
