Maurice Jenkins discusses how Miami International Airport (MIA) is working in new and better ways through Airport Collaborative Decision Making (CDM). CDM involves partnerships between government and private aviation stakeholders to share timely information for improved decision-making. It assists airports in coordinating infrastructure use more efficiently. Challenges include gaining commitment, changing processes, staffing needs, and coordinating vendors. MIA is implementing technologies like a cellular network, WiFi expansion, GPS systems, and automated kiosks to enable CDM and facilitate collaboration.
