This document discusses trends in digital transformation and assurance. It notes that by 2020, 25% of the world's economy will be digital. Digital transformation is being driven by cloud computing, analytics and intelligence, digital channels like web and mobile, and cyber security. Key evolving technologies include cloud, DevOps, wearables, omni-channel, big data and analytics, and virtualization. For digital assurance, customers expect testing to keep pace with marketing and enable continuous delivery. This requires extreme automation of testing at all layers and across the entire test lifecycle. The document outlines how continuous quality can be achieved in DevOps through practices like continuous testing, shift left, test monitoring, and automated lean test cycles. Emerging technologies that will impact
If you’re finding it difficult to automate tests for new features, and/or a significant number of the bugs your team finds are false positives, you should consider future-proofing your automation.
The document discusses test craftsmanship and high tech testing. It covers the challenges of high tech testing, including exponential test possibilities, dealing with physical objects, complex technology, multiple layers, security, performance, and skillset requirements. It also discusses software craftsmanship principles of working software, responding to change, steadily adding value, individuals and interactions, and customer collaboration. Finally, it suggests that the future of testing is bright.
Quality at Speed: More API Testing, Less UI TestingSauce Labs
Whether your company is a digital native or you’re just starting or well on your way to digital transformation, you know that your web services, mobile apps, and API programs need faster time-to-market without increasing risk.
More full-stack and backend developers as well as QA/testing, architecture, and DevOps leaders are trying to inject rocket fuel into their agile development by doing more API testing. But how much UI testing can be moved over to much faster API testing? And then, how short can you make your testing sprints with API testing?
With the right provisioning of UI, visual, and API testing, your organization can measurably improve DevOps metrics as you begin to do far more testing in much less time - without increasing on-hand IT resources.
In this webinar, Sauce Labs experts will clarify what parts of the “quality spectrum” are better covered by UI testing vs. API testing. Learn why API testing can be much faster and more reliable than UI testing, and how you can leverage API testing to achieve quality at speed.
Key Takeaways:
- Easily extend your Selenium and Appium UI testing suite with API testing automation for much faster, more reliable functional, integration, and load/performance testing
- Implement a CI/CD pipeline and DevOps workflows safely and securely with Sauce Labs full quality spectrum testing
- Achieve quality at speed with significant improvements in time to market and quality to market

The QA Team was created in April 2008 to take on project management roles and was later restructured to become QA analysts. Members of the team received training in principles of software testing, test design, and test identification and execution. Since then, the QA Team has tested several projects, including their largest project to date. New QA requests are submitted through a SharePoint site and followed a process where an analyst is assigned, test cases are created and executed, and results are reported back to business analysts and developers. The QA Team uses various forms and methods for testing including test cases, test plans, test scripts, test case matrices, and S-curves.
This document discusses quality assurance (QA) management principles and common anti-patterns. It outlines seven fundamental QA principles, including continuously learning about a system's behavior and developing test tools through iterations. It then describes seven common "anti-patterns," such as assuming requirements traceability or test automation are necessary upfront. The document concludes by contrasting the principles with the anti-patterns, such as emphasizing iterative test design over predefining a test library or taking an agile approach over test planning in waterfall model.

ATAGTR2017 Keeping pace with Product Evolution: UI Automation Framework Guide...Agile Testing Alliance
The document discusses how to structure automation test frameworks to help them withstand changes to the application under test. It recommends separating automation code into business, implementation, and element repository layers. The business layer defines test cases agnostic of the application, while the implementation layer defines how actions are performed. The element repository stores locators, allowing them to change without breaking tests. When the application evolves, changes are typically needed only in the element repository layer. Structuring tests in this way helps automation scripts remain useful despite application changes.
The document discusses a presentation given by Yogesh Khairnar at the Agile Testing Alliance Global Testing Retreat 2017 from March 16-17. From Natural Language to Structured Solr Queries using LLMsSease
This talk draws on experimentation to enable AI applications with Solr. One important use case is to use AI for better accessibility and discoverability of the data: while User eXperience techniques, lexical search improvements, and data harmonization can take organizations to a good level of accessibility, a structural (or “cognitive” gap) remains between the data user needs and the data producer constraints.
That is where AI – and most importantly, Natural Language Processing and Large Language Model techniques – could make a difference. This natural language, conversational engine could facilitate access and usage of the data leveraging the semantics of any data source.
The objective of the presentation is to propose a technical approach and a way forward to achieve this goal.
The key concept is to enable users to express their search queries in natural language, which the LLM then enriches, interprets, and translates into structured queries based on the Solr index’s metadata.
This approach leverages the LLM’s ability to understand the nuances of natural language and the structure of documents within Apache Solr.
The LLM acts as an intermediary agent, offering a transparent experience to users automatically and potentially uncovering relevant documents that conventional search methods might overlook. The presentation will include the results of this experimental work, lessons learned, best practices, and the scope of future work that should improve the approach and make it production-ready.

Data Valocity, Variety, Volume, value
Empathise: Understand the problem by discussing it with experts, get understanding of environment, this will make sure, individual assumptions are kept aside.
Define: Define the problem statement.
Ideate: How the problem will be solved. To identify new solutions to the problem statement you’ve created, and you can start to look for alternative ways of viewing the problem.
Prototype:The solutions are implemented within the prototypes and, one-by-one, they are investigated and either accepted, improved and re-examined, or rejected on the basis of the users’ experiences
Test:the results generated during the testing phase are often used to redefine one or more problems and inform the understanding of the users, the conditions of use, how people think, behave, and feel, and to empathise. Even during this phase, alterations and refinements are made in order to rule out problem solutions and derive as deep an understanding of the product and its users as possible.
