An assistant stage manager has various responsibilities before, during, and after shows. They help prepare rehearsals, procure props and set dressing, and cover rehearsals if needed. During shows, their main roles are to schedule performances, ensure performers are ready and props are set, and control backstage operations. After shows, assistant stage managers oversee the safe removal of props, sets, and costumes, as well as scheduling the de-rigging of technical equipment and clearing of the venue.
