Students are instructed to study each fossil picture and use provided websites to answer questions about the type of fossil, how it was formed and fossilized, the environmental conditions required for fossilization, what each fossil can reveal about the past environment and organisms, whether the organism is still present today, and what information scientists can learn by studying each fossil.
