ERICKSON’S STAGES OF PSYCHOSOCIAL
DEVELOPMENT THEORY
• What is psychosocial development precisely? Erickson highlighted that our personality
grows in various stages. Erickson’s theory enlightens how social communications
influence our development and growth. The psychosocial development includes 8 stages
with every single stage having a different role and objective. This slide displays the
various stages of psychosocial development as claimed by Erickson.

Blank Slates
• Locke states that
children are born as
blank Slates
accompanied by a
distinctive sense of
things. The effects that
could be added to an
individual’s blank slate
are over experience.
Experience consists of
two features that are
identified as external
and internal.
Morality Before Facts
• that prior to a child
adapting learned facts,
the child should be
properly taught by the
parents.The early
educations provided to
children would begin to
mold their eventual
sense of happiness and
character
Long Term Result
• According to Locke, a
child’s growth is
constantly dependent
on the extent of
standard lessons
provided by the parents.
He reinforced educating
children so that they
could become
passionate in the
direction of obtaining
more knowledge and
increasing critical
thinking abilities.
CONCLUSION
• In conclusion it could be said that by studying human development in a
socio0cultural context we are better able to understand ourselves and the
things that go around us. Learning about the various stages of development
can help us adjust to our life effectively. Our traditional beliefs, religion
morals, instructive learning’s and our traditional foods are all fragments of
Human developments. These must be well understood by all individual as it
may assist people to completely reach their physical, mental and emotional
ability thus making life for growth.
