ARTIFICIAL
INTELLIGENCE
By Anmol Jha
Define Artificial Intelligence….????
 Artificial intelligence (AI) is the ability of
a computer program or a machine to
think and learn.
 It is also a field of study which tries to
make computers "smart"....
More about Artificial Intelligence(AI)
 Strong AI
A machine with strong AI is able to think and act just like a human. It is able to
learn from human experiences.
Since there are no real life examples of strong AI yet the best representation
would be how Hollywood portrays robots.
 Weak AI
Machines with weak AI are made to respond to specific situations but can not
think for themselves.
Machine Learning
An application of AI that gives machines the ability to learn and improve without
the help of humans or new programming.
History Of Artificial Intelligence(AI)
 In 1950, English mathematician AlanTuring published a landmark
paper titled : “Computing Machinery And Intelligence”, that asked
the question “Can machine think?”. It was the first serious
proposal in the philosophy of AI.
 Further work came out of a 1956 workshop at Dartmouth
Conference sponsored by John McCarthy.
 In the proposal for that workshop he coined the phrase “Study of
AI”.
Currently AI
■ AI has taken many shapes an forms over recent years
 Mobile Phones
 Video games
 GPS
 Voice Navigation
 PersonalAssistant
 Robotics………………………and so on…………………………..
