This study evaluated the effect of an educational video on developing undergraduate nursing students' skills for managing totally implantable central venous access ports (TIAP). 24 students participated in the study. They completed a pre-test measuring anxiety and cognitive knowledge about TIAP procedures before watching the video. They then watched a video simulating TIAP puncture and heparinization. After, students participated in a mock session which was scored. Post-test results showed reduced anxiety levels and increased cognitive knowledge compared to pre-test. Students' average score in the mock session was high. The educational video proved effective in increasing both students' cognitive and technical knowledge of TIAP procedures.
