1. Inquiring into Culture in our Foreign-Language
Classrooms
It is an investigation to facilitate the incorporation of culture in the teaching of
English as a foreign language (L2) at the National University of Costa Rica (UNA),
and other issues that arise from the culture.
Culture being a key element in the process of learning and teaching a foreign
language (L2), where the idea is provides teachers an additional tool to include
culture in their classrooms, and students understand the meaning of words in the
cultural context. Create awareness of the issue, focusing on something different in
different content areas, and relating issues of class culture.
Through of research the teacher can ensure that students are learning something
of its total interest to keep them motivated in the process
UNA students, in particular, could interview some of the many exchange students
from the target culture who study on campus, as well as looking for information in
books, the Internet, magazines, papers, etc. What is important here is that there
are no restrictions on the Inquiring into Culture in our Foreign-Language
Classrooms type of resources that can be used to collect information.
This is a descriptive research.
