1. Blake Green is a man with a serious reputation, the notorious ex frontman for the band Ambush Reality is
back, with a newband with possibly one ofthe most successful debut albums ofall time showing the world
that Blake Green is back and he means business. With Sickened Society’s first major festival around the
corner we hear from the main man himselfto find out what it feels like to be back leading yetanother
world class band and finally the true story behind his firing ofAmbush Reality…
So six years have passed, your back, howare you feeling about being back in the music industry?
I’m feeling great to be honest, I felt like it was now or never, and I just had to go for it, I had been working with the
guys from Sickened Society for around two years now and we decided that we had enough material to release an
album and start this as a career,it couldn’t have gone any better.
It really has gone great for you guys, now, obviously you had a few problems back in the days ofAmbushed
Reality, are you still dealing with these problems nowor have they gone?
I really do think they have gone, yes, I spent the majority of the time between Ambushed and Sickened getting clean
and going to loads of AA meetings to get my life back on track, so I feel like I’m ready to move on from that part of
my life.
Howexactly did being fired from Ambushed Reality change your life? And what went down on the day you
were kicked out?
I genuinely think that being fired from Ambushed was one of the best things that happened to me, it completely
altered the way I went about life, at the time I was a reckless 21-year-old who’d had a dose of success and money and
although we were doing great they needed to let go of me to try and move on, but let’s face it, Ambushed Reality had
never rocked faster and louder since I left.
Now, every musician has influences what are yours?
Yeah I have a load of influences, one of my biggest ones sadly passed away this year,Lemmy, if you don’t know him
seriously get out cus he’s literally the biggest legend in the world of rock n roll and easily one of my main influences
especially cus he’s one of the few bass players and singers in a band, like myself. Another one of my influences is the
bassist from suicidal tendencies, Robert Trujillo, he’s the person who made me want to pick up a bass and start
playing.
With sickened society playing Download Festival this year what are your hopes and plans for the band in the
future?
I want to take this band as far as I possibly can, the whole band is easily capable of doing it and with how well the new
album went down with the fans its were on the right track.
Sickened Society almost got the number one spot for the rock/metal album ofthe year with your album
“Gambling With Life” just missing out to BMTH’s “Thats The Spirit”, would you say this is your best album
ever made?
I definitely think its the most consistent album ive ever made, it has great songs from the start to the finish and weve
done a great job to make it so that each song has a unique feel to it, which is why it sold so well I think
Well thats all we’ve got time for here anyway, it been an absolute pleasure meeting you and i wish you and
Sickened Society the best for the future. for anyone who hasn’t heard “Gambling For Life” make sure you pick
it up and have a listen.
