They have both made a very large impact in history in relation to permanency, population size, and effect. They laid the foundations for future empires including our own. The two great empires are different on many fronts. One way they are unalike is the geography. These two empires are separated by a very large distance, so there’s bound to be some variances geographically and culturally. Rome’s core was much more centered in Italy and the further away people inside its borders were the less roman culture there was.It was bound by sheer force and mandate. Only people in the center were considered “Romans” in the sense they were roman citizens. The outer regions of the Roman Empire were basically just controlled by the empire. They were not forced to change their cultural and religious values. They mostly remained unchanged except paid their taxes to the Roman Empire. Some Non-Roman citizens could gain citizenship through law but most conquered people did not change. Even marriage between a Roman citizen and Non-Roman citizen was usually forbidden. There was a very thick line for the romans between them and the people they conquered. This however was not so prominent in the Chinese empire. Another way they were different in that sense is that Chinese was used as a language unified across the Chinese empire. On the other hand Rome’s Latin was not used throughout its borders. This shows that the Roman Empire had much less unison than the Chinese Empire spiritually and politically. China believed in fundamentally the same philosophies from Confucianism to Daoism to Buddhism. But Rome went from polytheism to Christianity. The Roman Empire’s influence on its neighbors was considerably much lower than Chinese Empire did with its neighbors. .

In greek society, the people revolved around religion, although it wasn't a strict one. People weren't ruled by kings or leaders majority of places, but they did tend to follow their preiest or preistess and follow what they said on behalf of the gods. If you were more skilled in specialized practices, or more educated, since it was an oligarchy society (where the power lies in the small, wealthy elites), you would of course be ranked higher than slaves and peasants, but merchants and such typically weren't ruling forces.
The Roman and the Han Empires shared many similarities, despite the fact that they developed separately from each other. Both Roman and Han Empires experienced social unrest during their collapse. Nomadic invasions pestered both Roman and Han empires. Both empires developed strong bureaucracies that allowed them to establish a long period with effective centralized rule. There were a lot of positive things that came from both empires. The road network facilitated it and so did the Mediterranean, which made it easy to shuttle goods throughout the Empire through sea. Sea trade was less expensive than land trade and the fact that Rome was more of a naval empire than the Han DynOne key difference from the Han was an extensive institution of slavery, in which slave laborers were used in large numbers to produce goods. The factor that contributed to the collapse of both the Roman Empire and the Han Dynasty is that wars with invaders from neighboring lands weakened both empires. The Han Dynasty of China was the second imperial dynasty. It was a well organized bureaucracy based upon Confucian ideas and education. In the addition to the concept of democratic government, the Greeks were most recognized for their love of the fine arts and their search for wisdom, which they called philosophy. Ancient Rome was centered on the city of Rome and is placed among the most successful imperial powers of the time. The phenomenal growth of the empire was achieved through strong political, military and social institutions. Unlike other empires of the time, Rome practiced an openness policy that allowed allies and subjects to participate in social and political activities and granted citizenship to those who adopted a roman lifestyle.
The openness policy had positive outcomes as it allowed the expansion of the traditional Roman culture through interactions with allies and the Greek. The mosaic culture was depicted in literature, art and in architecture. Openness to new ideas and knowledge allowed the Romans to advance their knowledge of geometry, geography, astronomy and philosophy (Gilmour, 2012). Opening up also changed the political attitude towards the subjects to incorporate human virtues of gentleness and leniency since they were humans. The Roman Empire exhibited a great many symptoms after about 180 AD. There was statistical evidence in the declining population in addition to growing difficulties in recruiting effective armies. There was also political manifestations in the greater brutality and arbitrariness of many Roman emperors—victims, according to one commentator at the time, or “lustful and cruel habits.” Tax collection became increasingly difficult as residents of the empire fell on hard times.
The decline of Rome was more disruptive than the collapse of the classical dynasties in Asia. For this reason, and because memories of the collapse of this great empire became part of the Western tradition, the process of deterioration deserves particular attention.
The quality of both political and economic life in the Roman Empire began to shift after about 180 AD. Political confusion produced a series of weak emperors and many disputes over succession to the throne. Intervention by the army in the selection of emperors complicated political life and contributed to the deterioration of rule from the top. More important in initiating the process of decline was a series of plagues that swept over the empire.
As in China, the plagues’ source was growing international trade which brought diseases endemic in southern Asia to new areas such as the Mediterranean, where no resistance had been established even to contagions such as the measles. The resulting diseases decimated the population. The population of Rome decreased from a million people to 250,000. Economic life worsened in consequence.
Recruitment of troops became more difficult, so the empire was increasingly reduced to hiring Germanic soldiers to guard its frontiers. The need to pay troops added to the demands on the state’s budget, just as declining production cut into tax revenues.
Here, perhaps, is the key to the process of decline: a set of general problems, triggered by a cycle of plagues that could not be prevented, resulting in a rather mechanistic spiral that steadily worsened.
However, there is another side to Rome’s downfall, although whether it is a cause or result of the initial difficulties is hard to say. Rome’s upper classes became steadily more pleasure-seeking, turning away from the political devotion and economic vigor that had characterized the republic and early empire.
THE DECLINE OF CULTURE
Cultural life decayed. Aside from some truly creative Christian writers—the father of Western theology—there was very little sparkle to the art or literature or the later empire. Many Roman scholars contented themselves with writing textbooks that rather mechanically summarized earlier achievements in science, mathematics, and literary style. New knowledge or artistic styles were not being generated, and even the levels of previous accomplishment began to slip.

The Roman Empire exhibited a great many symptoms after about 180 AD. There was statistical evidence in the declining population in addition to growing difficulties in recruiting effective armies. There was also political manifestations in the greater brutality and arbitrariness of many Roman emperors—victims, according to one commentator at the time, or “lustful and cruel habits.” Tax collection became increasingly difficult as residents of the empire fell on hard times.
The decline of Rome was more disruptive than the collapse of the classical dynasties in Asia. For this reason, and because memories of the collapse of this great empire became part of the Western tradition, the process of deterioration deserves particular attention.
The quality of both political and economic life in the Roman Empire began to shift after about 180 AD. Political confusion produced a series of weak emperors and many disputes over succession to the throne. Intervention by the army in the selection of emperors complicated political life and contributed to the deterioration of rule from the top. More important in initiating the process of decline was a series of plagues that swept over the empire.
As in China, the plagues’ source was growing international trade which brought diseases endemic in southern Asia to new areas such as the Mediterranean, where no resistance had been established even to contagions such as the measles. The resulting diseases decimated the population. The population of Rome decreased from a million people to 250,000. Economic life worsened in consequence.
Recruitment of troops became more difficult, so the empire was increasingly reduced to hiring Germanic soldiers to guard its frontiers. The need to pay troops added to the demands on the state’s budget, just as declining production cut into tax revenues.
Here, perhaps, is the key to the process of decline: a set of general problems, triggered by a cycle of plagues that could not be prevented, resulting in a rather mechanistic spiral that steadily worsened.
However, there is another side to Rome’s downfall, although whether it is a cause or result of the initial difficulties is hard to say. Rome’s upper classes became steadily more pleasure-seeking, turning away from the political devotion and economic vigor that had characterized the republic and early empire.
THE DECLINE OF CULTURE
Cultural life decayed. Aside from some truly creative Christian writers—the father of Western theology—there was very little sparkle to the art or literature or the later empire. Many Roman scholars contented themselves with writing textbooks that rather mechanically summarized earlier achievements in science, mathematics, and literary style. New knowledge or artistic styles were not being generated, and even the levels of previous accomplishment began to slip.
The later Romans wrote textbooks about rhetoric instead of displaying rhetorical talen.

Visiting a Museum
It makes sense to approach a museum the way a seasoned traveler approaches visiting a city for the first time. Find out what is available to see. In the museum, find out what sort of exhibitions are currently housed in the museum and start with the exhibits that interest you. If there is a travelling exhibition, it’s always a good idea to see it while you have the chance. Then, if you have time, you can look at other things in the museum.
Make notes as you go through the museum and accept any handouts or pamphlets that the museum provides free. While you should not quote anything from the printed material when you do your report, the handouts may help to refresh your memory later.

The data collection that these robots will provide to further scientific research here on earth will prove to be invaluable in the future. - 1. Art and power were most of the times in coexistence. The Corinthians developed advanced vase painting with scenes from Greek mythology to their trade income. The Athenian golden age was based on its dominance in the Greek world. Many arts flourished during this period.Ancient drama reached its peak of creativity during that time.Parthenon was also built during the golden age. Alexander the Great sponsored Apelles who was one of the best painters in the antiquity. He also had a personal sculptor. With his conquests , Greek architecture traveled allover Asia. Greek artistic influences could even be found in early Buddhist art . There have been many great empires over many centuries two of which are the Romanian Empire and the Chin/Han Empire of China; these Empires are similar in ways but they are also different in ways. They have both made a very large impact in history in relation to permanency, population size, and effect. They laid the foundations for future empires including our own. The two great empires are different on many fronts. One way they are unalike is the geography. These two empires are separated by a very large distance, so there’s bound to be some variances geographically and culturally. Rome’s core was much more centered in Italy and the further away people inside its borders were the less roman culture there was.It was bound by sheer force and mandate. Only people in the center were considered “Romans” in the sense they were roman citizens. The outer regions of the Roman Empire were basically just controlled by the empire. They were not forced to change their cultural and religious values. They mostly remained unchanged except paid their taxes to the Roman Empire. Some Non-Roman citizens could gain citizenship through law but most conquered people did not change. Even marriage between a Roman citizen and Non-Roman citizen was usually forbidden. There was a very thick line for the romans between them and the people they conquered. This however was not so prominent in the Chinese empire. Another way they were different in that sense is that Chinese was used as a language
- 2. unified across the Chinese empire. On the other hand Rome’s Latin was not used throughout its borders. This shows that the Roman Empire had much less unison than the Chinese Empire spiritually and politically. China believed in fundamentally the same philosophies from Confucianism to Daoism to Buddhism. But Rome went from polytheism to Christianity. The Roman Empire’s influence on its neighbors was considerably much lower than Chinese Empire did with its neighbors.
