This document provides an overview of Augmented Reality Markup Language (ARML) 2.0, an Open Geospatial Consortium standard for describing augmented reality scenes and objects. ARML 2.0 allows virtual objects in an augmented reality scene to be described and located, and offers a programmable interface for interacting with scenes and objects. The standard was developed by a 50-member working group and has been implemented in several augmented reality browsers to enable interoperability. The working group is currently conducting an adoption vote for ARML 2.0 to be approved as an OGC standard.
