Eclipse announced several new strategic members and projects, including the creation of a Modeling Top Level Project and EclipseRT Top-level Project. The Eclipse Foundation was also formed. Several cool projects were in Eclipse incubation and presentations were given on Eclipse at conferences and for its 10th birthday. The Eclipse programming model was simplified and the platform was enabled for use on emerging web technologies.
