Senior Management Plan
When the project team and resources are set, we should get started with the plan. It is necessary to
introduce the concept of planning into the organization. Senior management/personnel should
include people from all levels of the organization to structure the knowledge so that the project
teams can use this as a framework for planningand performing their work throughout the study.
(create a successful project planfor global trials)
Study planning describes how each activity should be performed and how they should be done by
the project team. Me (Kerry Mathews) would like to make sure each person understands his or her
roles, responsibilities, and contributions to the team s goals. As a leader, I would establish

Thousand Cranes By Yasunari Kawabata
When it comes to emotions, there is always a reason to why one experiences them. It can be
happiness due to getting a favorite toy, jealousy at another s position, hatred due to one s actions,
and so on. Even sub categories are due to an experience bringing it forth. Such as suffering, one
doesn t suffer randomly, it happens because it was the effect of some cause. One of the biggest
causes being unfulfilled desire; depending on the significance of the desire the greater the suffering.
In the novel Thousand Cranesby Yasunari Kawabatathere is this intricate web of suffering that
occurs between the main characters, Kikuji, his father s, his father s mistresses and Fumiko. All as
an outcome of unfulfilled desire. For Yasunari Kawabata,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Fumiko, and running into the shade of Ueno Park. An ambiguous ending that gives no
indication if Fumiko is alive or not. Suffering is seen between the protagonist s father and his
two mistresses. Kikuji s father s first mistress was Chikako, he had a relationship for a short
time. Then, he eventually left Chikako for Mrs. Ota, to which he spent his last days with. The
dismissal from his service caused a great amount of suffering for Chikako, for she believed that
she abandoned due to the birthmark on her breast. Though she never showed outward disdain
for the mark on her chest, Kikuji s mother explains that any women with such a mark would be
self conscience. In addition, that dread would follow a woman, because she would constantly
feel fear that her husband would be disgusted by it. Also, that if she were to have children they
would be forced to suckle from that hideous mark, all this Chikako was aware of which is why
she never married. However, as a prostitute she had some semblance of fulfillment, since she was
able to complete that sexual desire. Yet, Kikuji s father s leaving her and choosing another
concubine, especially, a woman without her defect caused

Patriots Marching Band Case Study
1. Why do you want to be in a leadership position in the Patriots Marching Band?
I am a Patriot at heart and I want to do all I can to serve this band to the best of my abilities.
2. What do you believe are your greatest leadership strengths and greatest leadership challenges?
One leadership strengths I possess is that I am a very good public speaker and am able to easily
address a group of people whether it is a big or small one. I also believe that I am quite
approachable and friendly. One of my challenges would be trying to show the band that I could be a
fun, as well as effective and productive leader. Even when I am feeling tired and slightly irritable,
which I can be when tired, I will have to work hard to keep a positive attitude and to not let the
negative side show though to the band. I am also not very good with names ... Show more content

How would a member of Patriots marching band perceive your worthiness as a section leader or
commander candidate? Specifically in term of your leadership qualities, commitment to band at
your school, your history with Patriots and the consistency of your attitude and efforts in all three
areas?
First, being a five year veteran will certainly show people of my commitment and the skills that I
have more than likely picked up along the way. I have always tried to support people in band where
I can, especially new comers, and hope that many people in the band program respect me as both a
musician and a leader. I also make an effort to be inclusive and get to know the various people in
the program, for respect is largely earned not gained. This year more than ever, being a senior, I
have pushed myself to lead by example and to be a positive force within the bands as well a force
that younger kids can look up to. I have always held pride in all of my bands and I believe that
many people know this. I by no means keep my musical passions a secret, it is a large part of who I
am, and every band I play in likewise plays a role in

How Did The Native American Removal Compared To The Holocaust
The Native Americans removal can be compared to the Holocaust, but it also can t not be
compared to the Holocaust. I ll start with how the removal can be compared to the Holocaust,we
remove the Native Americans from their land because gold was found and moved the Native
Americans, these can be compared to how the Germans took Jews to the camps. Another way to
show these two events similar is when Jews had to wear a yellow star on their clothing to show
they are a Jew,it s like the Renaming Program for the Native American to have a christian name
or a white man name. Also was the battle of Little Bighorn, the Native American tribe was
attacked by the troops of US soldiers attacked without warning or even a reason, just like how the
German choose Jews to go to the forced labor camps to work everyday without a reason why they
were doing it. Another way to show the two are similar,is the Native Americans didn t control the
reservation land it was the Us Government that ultimately controlled it, just like the Holocaust the
Jew did have a choice of what happen in the forced labor camps. On the Other side the Native
American removal can t be compared with the Holocaust. The death count, the most I believe
Native American death would be around forty thousand, the Holocaust death was more than two
hundred thousand deaths. Another reason that these two can t be compared is the Native American
got clothing unlike the Holocaust Jews bearly got any clothing. Native American were able to hunt
for food in a fenced off area it was completly different then the Holocaust Jews not recieving any
food at all. I believe the American government didn t make an attempt to help the Native Americans
into the American culture. The medicine for the Indians that were ill was cod liver oil;no
hospitals;no decent medicine;and doctors to help ill or injured Native Americans. What made me
believe that the US Government of these was the reservation the Native America were placed on,
Standing Rock. The Standing Rock reservation could only support only one generation, and it could
barely do that much. What made these clear was the distribution of clothing and blanks, just like
how Sitting Bull was seeing the other Indians getting clothing. Also

The Risks And Rewardss Of Auto Racing
Driving cars is a common activity that many people have experienced before, be it as the driver
or as a passenger. However, there are those who take driving to a whole new level, and push
themselves and their cars to the limit. Those who do so take part in the activity called auto
racing . Auto Racing is a popular and thrilling activity, which involves cars racing in competition.
This activity is a thrill seeking activity as it involves high speeds and having drivers placed in
risky situations because of this speed. This paper analyzes the risks and rewards of auto racingto see
if it can be a viable recreational activity for the general public.

In a motor show, 26 people got injured after a unprofessional driver lost control of his car sped
off the track and into a section of the crowd (Times of Malta, 2015). The danger is not restricted
to those who practice auto racing as a legal hobby, but those who do it illegally on the streets. Street
racing is an illegal and unsanctioned activity that can be spontaneous or well coordinated, often
with modified cars that race on public streets. The Los Angeles (LA) traffic police issued
hundreds of citations and made scores of arrests in 2014 regarding illegal street racing (Stevens,
Shyong, Meija, 2016). Even with police efforts, street racing is still reported to be on the rise.
An illegal street race in LA resulted in three deaths with several others injured in February this
year (Stevens, Shyong, Meija, 2016) and a passenger in a street racing car in California died just
this month after the driver lost control of his car and crashed into a light pole (Hamilton, 2016).
Why do so many people still continue to take part in such street races despite the obvious physical
danger and risks of getting into trouble with the law? Perhaps the reason lies in the

Equal Rights Amendment In The 1920 s
Equal Rights Amendment The Roaring Twenties brought along more than just a change in fashion
and culture, it also introduced the strong fighting National Woman s Party which introduced the
Equal Rights Amendment to Congress in 1923.The Equal Rights Amendment had several purposes
that seemed extremely important to women, however, a bit contradicting to 1920s society and
American culture. In 1912 Alice Stokes Paul and Lucy Burns were appointed into the National
American Woman Suffrage Association due to their hard work and active movement in search of
total gender equality. Alice Paul eventually was dissatisfied with the little impact that the NAWSA
had shown to women and decide to form and become the leader of the Congressional Union. The
Congressional Union s duty was to directly pressure the government into giving equal rights to both
men and women. She did not only wan equality to be a law, she wanted it to become part of the US
Constitution. She played a strong part in the ratification process of the 19th Amendment which

Alice Paul and her followers believed that this was the next necessary step to have equal justice
under law . This amendment would get rid of any gender inequalities that occurred in the legal
system and in society in general. She believed that the ERA would end all discrimination against
women. Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by
any state on account of sex, Is a direct quote from the ERA that became recognizable because it
outlines the primary purpose of the amendment. The amendment did not only grant equality in the
constitution, but it also guaranteed women their rights and protected them from lawmakers to
weaken their privileges as women. This would mean that if men were required by law to sign up
for military selective service, so were women (Roberta W.,

Chinese Culture And Its Effects On The Country s Economy...
Chinese Culture
According to Zimmermann (2015), Culture is the distinctive features and knowledge of a specific
group of people, outlined by everything from cuisine, social habits, language, religion, arts, and
music. The Center for Advanced Research on Language Acquisition takes it a step further, defining
culture as mutual patterns of behaviors and interactions, cognitive constructs and understanding that
are learned by. In this manner, culture can be seen as the growth of a group individuality fostered
by social structures unique to the group socializing (Center for Advanced Research on Language
Acquisition, 2014).
China is one of the most complex nations in the world. From its numerous aspects of culture to
its intricate physical geography and storied military history. My paper will provide a brief view of
the nation s language, music, religion, cuisine, and arts. I will also provide a weather analysis and

the Beijing, or Mandarin, dialect. A few other dialects used in China include Wu (Shanghaiese),
Yue (Cantonese), Minnan (Hokkien Taiwanese), Xiang, Gan, Hakka, and more. Other regions of
China particularly Tibet, for example, implement a peculiar language that has no relevance to
China in any way. However, Mandarin Chinese is considered to be China s official language it s

The Role Of Gender And Gender Inequality In Ancient Greece
From ancient times the woman was perceived and acknowledged as inferior to men. The female
element in ancient Greece was a significant part of the procreation and a form of entertainment.
For example, the hierarchical character of Aristotle has played an significant role in reducing the
women s value and role in society. The intended purpose of the female gender was to be a keeper,
to clean and cook while the male was the provider with less emotions. However, this socially
structured vision is strongly based on gendered appearance without questioning the confines of the
self expansion and individuality.
Performing gender has been habitually implemented on daily basis perhaps until the first feminist
movement in the 1800s which lead society to question gender inequality and androcentrism.
Furthermore, identity has been ingrained in the royal family through performed gender and
iteration of act serves to perpetually reproduce. But is gender only a narrative which fortify
expectations and stereotypes of what means to be a male or female?
The princess of Wales, Diana Spencer is a quintessential example of the blending genders in
modern society and brought a new life to the Monarchy.
She has made a significant change in our perception and her character contained every attribute that
a role model should exhibit.
Coming from an aristocratic family with initially a country girl like style, her identity transformed
into a sophisticated, honoured princess and beloved mother. With grace and style, Diana changed
the 19th century anachronism of the British Monarchy to the attainable modern institution that it is
today. She was a representation of a supremely regal woman who stood by her husband s side
hence, independently continued to establish her identity alone after their divorce.
On daily basis, she had numerous roles and activities starting from a loving mother, inspiration to
the world, organizer of charities and many other royal duties. The Princess of Wales was not a
puppet of the Royal family, she had a determined personality to make a change for a better world.
Her compassion and hope played a core role in illustrating her social and political eminence.
In a way, she used the press to shape her own image

Why Is Gmo Wrong
The production of GMO s and or use, is wrong from a Christian perspective. God made
everything that humans see today, and god made it beautiful. In the book of Genesis, it describes
god s process of making the world that he gifted to humans to be stewards of. He charged humans
with the care of the beautiful garden of Eden. (Holy BibleGenesis 2:15) The Bible also reads The
earthis the Lord s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein. (Holy Bible
Psalm 24:1) The Earth was not the creation of man but of God, although he made it for man to

Genesis 1:31 reads God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening,
and there was morning the sixth day. Man, has no right to disturb the beauty that God endowed
the earth with. GMO s don t only mess with the cells of God s creations, they even make
disgusting abominations which are not only cellularly a mess but also physically. In 1985 pigs
were engineered with a human gene that produces human growth hormone. The scientists goal
was to produce a faster growing pig. What they got was a freak show. With their bristly hair and
wide muzzles, these animals looked nothing like the pigs on the farm owned by my grandfather.
Another bad product of the use of GMO s is superbug and super weeds. Herbicide resistant weeds
often referred to as super weeds are nuisance plants that have developed resistance to one or more
herbicides. They have been a serious problem for decades, but increasingly, GMO critics have
focused criticism on weeds that have developed immunity to the popular herbicide glyphosate also
known as roundup. (nongmoproject) Super bugs are also just bugs, specifically pest, that have
become more resistant to pesticides. Because of super bugs and super weeds, the use of herbicides
and pesticides has been upped fifteen

daily Two Minute Hates. In this period of time, work ceased and everyone gathered around a

woman, Julia, instigates a liaison between herself and Winston. Rebelling against Big Brother,
they make love, which Winston believes is a severe thoughtcrime. He felt that sexual
relationships accompanying love would result in a loyalty between individuals that is contrary to
the desires of the Party. They then rent an apartment and take comfort that O Brien, a vigorous,

Legalization of medical marijuana at the federal law Essay
Why should marijuana be legalized? Marijuana can be argued for different reasons. In my case I
will be arguing the medical purposes for legalizing marijuana. Marijuana has positive features, and
how people prefer using marijuana. Marijuana helps individuals get through a variety of things
that they suffer. Marijuana provides relief from pain, rather than other medications out there.
Many individuals prefer marijuana over anything else to relax. An argument on why people using
marijuana spend more time in jail than actual criminals. So you can say the greatest risk of using
marijuana is the risk of arrest. Marijuana should be legalized at the federal law for medical
purposes. Medical marijuana should be legalized at the federal law... Show more content on

I think this is important because marijuana really does help people with their health and it
should be considered to be legalized by the federal law. Medical marijuana should be legalized at
the federal law for medical purposes because the federal government does not like the idea of
legalizing marijuana and bans the use of medical marijuana, but there is a growing number of
states that feel differently, so that is why it should be legalized. Back in 2012 18 states including
Washington, D.C., legalized medical marijuana. These states legalized it for people with
conditions such as epilepsy, cancer, chronic pain, and etc. These states still cannot stop the federal
government from imposing its own laws. These federal drug laws were unreasonably extreme.
Consider the case of Chris Williams, who opened a marijuana greenhouse in Montana after the
state legalized medical marijuana. Many people feel the need to legalize medical marijuana so
why not legalize it? The only thing holding people back is the federal law.
Medical marijuana should be legalized at the federal law for medical purposes because many
people already support the legalization of medical marijuana. (Brooks, 2014). Explains that 51
percent of Minnesotans support legalization for medicinal uses, while 41 percent oppose. There is a

and Cui Yingying, a beautiful maiden, meet in a temple, fall in love at first sight and after a series
of thwarted attempts, they end up happily marrying each other, after the student has passed the
civil exam as the top one, of course. Among the five books of The Story of the WesternWing, Book

Structurally speaking, Book III appears between two climaxes. Book II promises a marriage for
the two lovers but ends up damping their expectations as well as that of the audience all of a
sudden when Madam Cui takes back her word. Book IV begins with the long awaited climactic
scene in which Zhang Sheng and Yingying consummate their love. Put in between these two
episodes of dramatic tension and emotional intensity, Book III may at the surface merely serve as a
buffer, that is, a temporary relief from the breath taking conflicts on the part of the audience.
Actually, the dramatic rhythm at this stage does slow down. As the central character, Hongniang
frequently evokes laughter from the audience with her quick repartee and satirical comments on the
pretentious lovers. Apart from all this, however, by making Hongniang sing all the time and
keeping the lovers relatively reticent they are only heard in dialogues Book III complicates the
interrelationships between the three characters and significantly contributes to the psychological
depth of this play. In other words, while foregrounding Hongniang and exploring the complexity in
her motivation, the play also employs her as a vehicle for the off stage conflicts between Zhang
Sheng and Yingying and their inner conflicts, which are much less spectacular than they are
psychological.
However, one has to begin with the question

Becoming A United States Citizen
Becoming a United States citizen is such a difficult task that many immigrants are crossing the
border illegally. Today, the naturalization process is a large controversial topic. To become a
citizen one has to go through a series of tests including topics about US government, language, and
civics. One has to be able to speak and understand English which can be extremely difficult as a
second language. Because it is so difficult to becoming a citizen or let alone enter a country with
certain permissions, immigrants are illegally crossing the border causing issues and tension with
existing United States citizens. Becoming a United States citizen should be easier because it would

Once immigrants become citizens they ultimately benefit society for everyone by paying taxes and
serving others. Making the naturalization process easier would create jobs for immigrants and help
them to live legally in the US safely. Some oppose this option because they believe citizens would
begin to overpopulate. Actually, the only number that would increase would be the number of
United States citizens, not the number of immigrants overall. Making the citizenship process easier
and simpler would accommodate the immigrants by making them eligible for jobs and legal,
steady income with all the benefits of a United States citizen. Because of the inability to find legal
labor as an illegal immigrant, many turn to human trafficking as an occupation. As stated by Tsin
Yen Koh, a graduate student from Harvard, Tightening immigration policies and controls increases
human trafficking. It becomes more difficult for labor migrants to enter and work in the
destination country legally. (Koh). Koh is explaining in this article that if the policies on one
entering the United States along with citizenship were loosened, trafficking would not be such a
major issue. Similarly, Marissa Urgate wrote in her Journal of Trauma Practice as a result of the
United States creating restrictions against illegal immigrants, they engage in labor jobs such as
prostitution and trafficking (Urgate). Making it easier to become a citizen would decrease human

American Involvement Of Foreign Affairs Essay
American Involvement In Foreign Affairs
Kennith Raba
For the longest time America has been known to ally with foreign countries, or be involved with
few disputes in other countries. Yes, we need to trade and keep peace. However, what is better
peace or to not be involved at all? Now, is a circumstance where we are stuck in Iraq and Afghan
over issues such as terroristic activities but why did they start? America does have its own gas
storage, not only that but there are areas where oil can be dug up from and bought from within
borders and it could be sold amongst the few of us, instead we bought it from the middle east
and when they fought amongst each other we got involved to keep the trade going, when it was
none of our business. Yes World Peace is a great concept, But it doesn t work, there will always
be problems and trying to fix them only seems to make it worst, American forces should serve to
defend and only attack after we ve been attacked not used to help end civil wars or so on, it s not
our business, and most definitely not our problem but due to us stepping in, it becomes one. From

Feminist Perspective In The K-12 Art Education Curriculum
A clearly defined Black feminist perspective cannot be found in the K 12 art education curriculum
at this time. Although several articles from Wanda Knight and Jessie Whitehead have discussed the
importance of including a Black feminist and woman of color perspective, nothing definitive can be
found in the current art education curriculum. Through the use of Charles Mills theory of
revisionist ontology, I will discuss the importance and value of including a Black feminist
perspective in the K 12 art education curriculum.
Overview of K 12 Art Education and the Need A Feminist Perspective in Art
Art education has many facets that are beneficial to art students. In the field of art education,
aesthetics (as in the philosophy of art) attends to the development of critical thinking skills and
philosophical inquiry through classroom dialogue (Ambush, 2008, p.14). In art education, the
student has the opportunity to understand and learn visual aesthetics, cognitive, motor, emotional,
social, and artistic skills to express critical thinking, sensitivity, and cultural identity (SchoГ±au,
2013). In An Exploration of the Issue of Stereotyping in the Artroom, Sheng Kuan Chung (2008)
examines the issue of stereotypes and claims art education offers students the opportunity to
examine prejudiced or unjust social practices that permeate society and to confront such practices
from a critical point of view (p. 24). Analyzing the concept of race and gender stereotypes is critical,

Palo Devo Healthcare Case
The Palo Verde Healthcare District (along with three of its board members) were happy to receive a
victorious result recently from the U.S. District Court s final ruling in their favor. The court ruled
that the plaintiffs in the retaliation lawsuit, Peter Klune, Dennis Rutherford and Tara Barth, were
not able to sufficiently prove their claims of retaliation. In their ruling, the court made it clear that
they felt that the plaintiffs failed to meet the burden of proof against the hospital and the three
board members: Samuel Burton, Trina Sartin and Sandra Hudson. The hospital and its board
members stated that the entire ordeal was taken very seriously and that they were very gratified by
the final ruling. They also stated that they are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The three were terminated from their positions at Palo Verde Healthcare District allegedly in
retaliation for their reporting of certain unlawful activities at the facility. In April, the case had a
bench trial with both sides spending the time since waiting on the final ruling from the judge. The
case was based on plaintiff claims that they were engaged in protected activity of investigating
potential false claims submitted by the hospital to the government. According to the suit filed, a
doctor on site was involved in a kickback agreement with the hospital anesthesiologist, Dr. Brad
Barth, the husband of one of the plaintiffs in the case. Other violations were also alleged and
reported to the U.S. Attorney, the Riverside County District Attorney and Office of Inspector

Violations of Federal False Claim Act (attempts to stop appropriate actions to stop or report
violations of the law). Violations of the California False Claims Act (when illegal activities were

The Protest Of The Francisco 49ers Quarterback Colin...
When you think of protests what do you think of? Most of the protests that people see on
television are a group of people marching in the streets. These protests can either be peaceful or
harmful. San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick took a different approach. His protest
was not in the streets, it was on the football field. He kneels during the national anthem before
games. Everyone has their own thoughts on his protest, some agree, some do not agree with his
protest. Colin Kaepernick s form of protest is a very ineffective way of protest while disrespecting
the people that represent and angering many. On August 14th, 2016 was the first time San
Francisco 49ersquarterback Colin Kaepernick decided to sit down for the... Show more content on

Also, not standing for the national anthem is a legal form of peaceful protest, which is a First
Amendment right. And even though President Obama disagreed with Kaepernick s actions he
did say that Colin was exercising his constitutional right to make a statement. I think there s a
long history of sports figures doing so (ProCon.org) Refusing to stand for the national anthem is
disrespecting the flag and every member of the armed forces. Celebrities and others have all
chimed in and gave their opinion on Colin s protest. One person to chime in and has a lot
patriotism in her family history is Carole Ishlam, she is one of the great great great
granddaughters of Francis Scott Key, the writer of the national anthem. It just blows my mind that
somebody like Kaepernick would do what he does to dishonor the flag of this country and the
national anthem Ishlam said in an interview. She continued, we have young men and women
overseas fighting for this country, people that have died for this country (ProCon.org) Even
supporters of Kaepernick s message disagree with his actions. One of these supporters is New
Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, who said, It s an oxymoron that you re sitting down,
disrespecting that flag that has given you the freedom to speak out (ProCon.org) Not only did
celebrities talk about it, people who are fighting in the war and are representing the flag have put

The Development Of The Psyche
As a child, people are in the most delicate phase of life. They are a freshly budded lily, absorbing all
the light, moisture, and nutrients possible in order to bloom into an adult. These essential
fertilizers predominantly come from their parents, who nurture them into the person they will
become. This unit commonly consists of a motherand father. The mother a symbol of intimacy and
maternal comfort, and the father a symbol of strength and stature. The balance of this yin and yang
is extremely important for the development of the psyche. Having a fatherless childhoodor a
childhood with a degenerate father is common in today s society. The effects of not having a father
figure ripple through childhood and lay roots in the subconscious. There are two types of a
fatherless childhood. Some grow up without a father in their life entirely, without any knowledge of
who he may have been. Others grow up with a father in their life that does more destructive impact
than constructive impact. Some may say that a destructive parent is still a parent to their child, but
arguably a parent without constructive development to their spawn is not a parent at all. This
hollow in a child s life leaves a space for destructive energy to breed. Many challenges adults face
within themselves reflect back into their childhood. The subconscious is the seed left over from the
lily s bloom, which died along with childhood innocence. The fight to gain back said innocence is
the ultimate struggle.

Vehicle Safety Essay
In the recent years, the United States government has been enforcing stricter mandates on auto
manufacturers to create safer vehicles, and on construction companies to create safer roadways.
Matthew Jensen wrote a dissertation for the Graduate School of Clemson University titled, A
Methodology for the Analysis of In vehicle Operating Data and Design of Intelligent Vehicle
Systems for Improved Automotive Safety. In his abstract, Jensen evaluated the future of vehicle
manufacturing and traffic related incidents. Of course, every year more vehicles are manufactured,
which in theory means the number of miles driven in vehicles increases. He points out how the

Generally speaking the items taken into account as vehicle speed, RPM, and throttle position as
well as many other parameters. More recently developers to begin using accelerometer and global
positional systems (GPS) to provide feedback to the driver (Jensen). Yet another critical component
of safe driving is the human vehicle interface (HVI), very similar to the human computer interface
/ interaction (HCI). HVI is used to produce sounds, visual aids, and other forms of feedback such as
the haptic steering wheel to alert the vehicle operator of the roadway conditions (traffic,
construction environment, pedestrians). Since automobiles are operated by single individuals, the
primary means of receiving feedback are visual. Since the introduction of HVI the cost for real time
control systems decreases and the new safety features provide information that hopes to improve
decision making response time (Jensen).
The article describes three formats of in vehicle feedback; visual, haptic, and audio. Each of the
three formats to be broke down into various systems and functions. Very similar to a database
containing tables, rows, and attributes. In the visual table, there are four rows one of which is the

Gibson Shred V Marketing Mix
The Gibson Flying V brand has many variations, and comes in styles that range from classic to
contemporary. The line attempts to more or less corner the market on any hard rock and metal

article, I ll take a close look at to see what it has to offer its potential owners. Features: The body
of the Gibson Shred V, like nearly every other Gibson on the market, is made of mahogany
wood. They prefer this wood type to give Gibsons their distinctive sound. There is just one finish

For the average guitarist on a budget, or for those who are looking to get into learning how to
play, there are few instruments better than the Ibanez line. One specific example of this is the
Ibanez RG2EX1. Let s look a little deeper to see just what it has to offer. Features: The body of
the RG2EX1 is made of basswood, a common feature for lower end guitars. Though the price of
the wood in high quantities is relatively cheap, they generally make instruments with good
resonance and sound quality. There are two modern, sleek looking finishes available with the
Ibanez RG2EX1, including jet black and royal blue. The neck is bolted on the guitar, and made
of three separate pieces of maple wood. The fretboard, meanwhile, is made of rosewood. It has
twenty four jumbo frets with pearloid dot inlays. The bridge of the guitar, in an effort to keep
price down, is fixed instead of tremolo. This takes away your ability to do dive bombs or some
other popular hard rock maneuvers, but it effectively keeps the strings in position and tune. All of
the hardware, including the tuning heads, bridge, and selector switch , is metal and painted to
match the finish. Electronically, the Ibanez RG2EX1 has a specially designed humbucking pickup
in the bridge and neck position, tone and volume control knobs, and a three way selector switch.

Analysis Of The Jungle By Upton Sinclair
The Jungle by Upton Sinclair
In the book The Jungle , Upton Sinclair writes about the life of a young couple and their family,
Jurgis Rudkus and Ona Lukoszaite having to move to America after Ona s father passed away
which left them with little money, Jurgis decided to move his and Ona s family to Chicago from
Lithuania to pursue the American dream. Soon after, they learned that their idea of an American
dream was not what they had pictured to be. The story entails the unlucky events that the family
goes through and the unexpected outcome of it all.
The story opens up with Jurgis and Ona at their wedding feast in an area of Chicago known as
Packingtown, Chicago s meatpacking district. The place is filled with music, food, and drinks.
Guests are invited from the streets to come join in on the celebration. Ona starts to get worried
because after their veselija, or what we know it as a wedding feast, she noticed people were leaving
without contributing money to the newlyweds as Lithuanian tradition follows. Some people snuck
away and some people left without any shame knowing that they took advantage of the family,
freeloading from the food and beer that was provided. Trying to free Ona of her worries of how
they will pay back the saloonkeeper, Jurgis assured her, I will earn more money I will work harder.
Vowing that he will work harder and earn more money to pay back the debt of their wedding.
Jurgis ends up finding a job fairly quickly at a meatpacking company and it s not the best but he s
content because he s bringing in money and so does the rest of the family, Jonas, the brother of
Ona s stepmother, Teta Elzbieta and as do Marija Berczynskas, Ona s cousin. At this point, Jurgis
positive about his future in the Americas, and denies Teta, Ona, and the younger children to work.
They ve decided that they needed to move on up in the world and find a house since they now make
enough money, the family signs an agreement to purchase a house but finds out that it is a rented
house. Adding onto this swindle, they had an interest rate to pay including the rent which resulted

The Renaissance and Italy s Decline
The Renaissance and Italy s Decline
Definition: The period in European civilization immediately following the Middle Ages,
conventionally held to have been characterized by a surge of interest in classical learning and
values. Set in the city states of Italy in the fourteenth, fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, the constant
uncertainty, both economic and political, and extreme volatility of the historical situation provided
the material for new intellectual, cultural, and social experiments that would at their conclusion
provide the means of constructing a new European mono cultural identity, one focused on
humanistic studies, science, and the arts. This historical background is surprisingly volatile; while

In Italy the Renaissance proper was preceded by an important proto renaissance in the late 13th
and early 14th centuries, which drew inspiration from Franciscan radicalism. St. Francis had
rejected the formal Scholasticism of the prevailing Christian theology and gone out among the
poor praising the beauties and spiritual value of nature. His example inspired Italian artists and
poets to take pleasure in the world around them. The work of the most famous artist of the proto
renaissance period, Giotto (1266/67 or 1276 1337), reveals a new pictorial style that depends on
clear, simple structure and great psychological penetration rather than on the flat, linear
decorativeness and hierarchical compositions of his predecessors and contemporaries. The great
poet Dante lived at about the same time as Giotto, and his poetry shows a similar concern with
inward experience and the subtle shades and variations of human nature. Although his Divine
Comedy belongs to the Middle Ages in its plan and ideas, its subjective spirit and power of
expression look forward to the Renaissance. Petrarch and Boccaccio also belong to this proto
renaissance period, both through their extensive studies of Latin literature and

Invictus Film review.
If you are interested in history, drama, sport or all three combined, then this film is for you.
Invictus, directed by Clint Eastwood, is a legendary sports biographical drama. Eastwood created
the film with an intention of trying to show the power of sport and how rugby alone managed to
unite the mighty nation of South Africa. The story of how the power of the sport alone was able to
do this during the country s terrible post apartheid era is shown in this potential tearjerker. This
included the high tension between civilians, which was due to racial discrimination and had been
present for the previous 50 years as well. The inspirational Morgan Freeman plays the film s

Stereotypes In Animation
A valid complaint about animation that is rarely addressed is the reinforcement of gender roles
and racial stereotypes. Though violence, obesity, commercialization, and short attention spans are
also legitimate complaints, the issues of race relations and gender roles create widespread effects.
This is not an issue specific to animation; it is prevalent in all forms of entertainment. Yet if we, as
a culture, are to remove these issues from our media, we should be focusing on changing
perceptions of the youngest members of our culture. A large issue with children s cartoons is a
lack of valid representation. (Parasecoli FIND DATE) What little representation that exists borders
on stereotypes, and is catered towards white culture. This underrepresentation is prevalent even in
the advertisements of children s programs. Few commercials feature people of color, and those
that do typically retain a white child in a position of power. (Merskin 2008) The lack of
representation is so great that it has spawned the term Symbolic annihilation. (Klien Shiffman 2009)
Those who consume more media are more vulnerable to this tacit confirmation of some groups as
unimportant. (Klien Shiffman 2009) Because Children s television exposure begins in infancy and

Mental Disorders And Its Effects On Psychological Disorders
Mental disorders are defined as a syndrome characterized by clinically significant disturbance in an
individual s cognition, emotion regulation, or behavior that reflects a dysfunction in the
psychological, biological, or developmental processes underlying mental function (Shiraev Levy,

with mental disorders including substantial distress or a form of impediment in social settings and

psychopathology is constant and unchanging across cultures (Shiraev Levy, 2017, p.254). The

agrees that psychopathology is culture specific and should have different meaning in different
societies (Shiraev Levy, 2017, p.254). Therefore, by accepting this perspective, views of
psychopathology formed in one cultural environment is not effective in other cultures conditions.
The universalist approach does view the cultural impact as important but it is not considered
excessively for psychopathological phenomena. Instead, psychopathological phenomena across

Ethernet cables are generally used to connect devices on LANs including routers and switches.
Theoritically, ethernet cables can support 100 Mbs or 1000 Mbps maximum bandwidith. This
maximum can not be achieved due to overhead hardware and computer operating system. Ethernet
cables usually support one or more industry standards including Category 5 (CAT 5) and Category

In this network, CAT 5 ethernet cables are used. CAT 5 ethernet cables are a fifth generation

Innovation No More
It seems we have lost the ability to innovate. We do not think the way we used to; we do not
invent new concepts or ideas, rather we just adapt ideas of the past. Our thinking now a day is
very limited to what we have already created.
Google s definition of innovating, make changes in something established, esp. by introducing new
methods, ideas, or products, suggests that innovation is now just development of an old idea. In this
definition there seems to be no mention of inventing but rather only the alteration of a product in a
way never done before. It s not that the alteration of a product is bad thing but it does create a very
limited thinking world; a world that relies on the blueprints of the past to create a future.
So have we really lost our ability to innovate? Not really, it s just that innovation has become merely
focused on technology. It seems like technology will be the future. That future will involve people
innovation of past ideas and not trying anything new due to the fear of failing. That innovation will
mostly focus on technology which can help to make money.
The novel Oryx and Crake which is based on the future shows somewhat of the real future and
what it will be like. In this science fiction novel, we are treated to a very limited thinking world in
which the main concern is technology and money. There are some technological advances evident
in this novel but not ones which are comprehensive or mind boggling. For example, there is a lot of

Generals Die In Bed By Charles Yale Harrison

Generals die in Bed by Charles Yale Harrison is a novel where a young Canadian soldier tells of his
first hand account of the harsh and inhumane conditions in the trenches on the Western Front during
World War 1. Through his observations and experiences the Narrator shows the effects of war on
ordinary people and how they manage in extraordinarily horrific situations. Even though the brutal
nature of the war is often reflected in the violent way that combatants act towards one another there
are also moments when compassion and mercy is shown. The novel demonstrates that in extreme

However we also are shown bravery, companionship and acts of kindness as the soldiers struggle to
stay humane and sane in a hellish environment.
Throughout the novel they are compassionate and caring to even their enemies in their darkest
moments. They also illustrate the dark and unforgiving side of human nature. They show no pity or
mercy even while being pleaded too.
Throughout the novel the Narrator often shows compassion towards others in his actions eg. letting
the German soldier grieve for his dead brother letting him take a few letters and papers from his
brother s pockets and imagines how their mother would feel. He then helps the Germans to safety
behind the lines amp; asks that the prisoners be treated nicely.
Just like their constant companions the lice and the rats, the soldiers in the trench adapt to the hell
that they find themselves trapped in doing whatever it takes to survive. They even fight each
other over food at each others throats like hungry, snarling animals . As the novel amp; the war
progresses so does the inhumane side of the soldiers who become increasing more detached from
killing, unconcerned with the death of friends. The soldiers are conditioned, hardened up and
desensitised with self preservation becoming a key motivator. This is shown as the soldiers plunder
the city of Arras allies town and vandalize houses with no consideration of the local

throughout North High School hallways you noticed volleyball bags, blankets, coolers, food and
wrappers all stuffed into a small corner that a team redeemed as their spot. When I walked back
into the muggy hot gym, I could smell the knee pads, ankle braces, and sweat from all the girls
playing. Along with the sound of whistles from referees and the agonizing squeaking sound of the
shoes moving against the gym floors. My team and I made our way to an empty... Show more

I went into an approach and tipped the ball right over the block but their setter got a pancake (A
dig in which the player gets the ball up by placing a flat hand on the ground (palm down) and
letting the ball bounce off the back of his or her hand) and their right side hitter took the second
ball and got an assist (Passing or setting the ball to a teammate who attacks the ball for a kill.) to
their outside and she then pushed the ball over to the deep back right corner and our setter
luckily got there just in time and our libero then assisted the ball to me, but it was too low to do
anything, so I sent a freeball over. (A ball that will be returned by a pass rather than a spike.)
They easily passed that ball and they tried to run a fast offense and do a quick set, (a set (usually
2 above the net) in which the hitter is approaching the setter, and may even be in the air, before
the setter delivers the ball.) but I realized it right away and went up to block and I got it, but
their coverage was where it needed to be also and they got the ball up. After doing that their
setting came up and dumped (The setter dump is an attack in which the setter becomes an
offensive threat to score points and cause a distraction to the opponent s block and floor defenders.
It is often used as an emergency tactic for tight passes.) She ended the point with that because my
team didn t read it in time and couldn t pick it up. We then came together in a short team huddle to

The units used and if different from KeV/Вµm the conversion factor between them.

The variation in stopping power value with energy for protons.
A heavy charged particle traversing matter loses energy mainly through the ionization and
excitation of atom. A heavy charged particle can transfer a very small fraction of its energy in an
electronic collision (inelastic collision) and loses energy continuously along its path at the linear
rate. 1 The energy loss by charged particles in a medium is called the stopping power or linear ...

As protons move through liquid water, they ionize or excite atoms or molecules of the matter
(water) and deposit a dose or energy along their path. If a charged particle has a greater energy
and moving faster, it has a lower tendency to lose energy along its path in per unit path length.5
Similarly, at higher energy, protons move relatively faster and thus ionize and excite fewer
molecules, therefore, its stopping power is lower.5 However, as their energy decrease, protons
transfer more energy to the medium and the stopping power would be higher as shown in Figure
1. Consequently, the stopping power or LET depends on its energy.5 The energy loss increases
towards the end of the range, reaches a maximum, which is called the Bragg peak, and abruptly
drop to zero before the protons stop. The Bragg peak occurs because the interaction cross section of
the medium increases as the proton s energy decreases.1,

The American Industrial Revolution During The 19th Century
The American Industrial Revolution began in the 1700 s and ended in the 1800 s. Most people
believe that the American Industrial Revolution began when Samuel Slater brought technology
from Britain to America. This technology allowed America to use manufacturing to quicken
production. Industrial items such as the sewing machine, river boats, trains, telegraph, and mills
allowed for growth in the United States. Immigrants from other countries gave the industrial growth
enough workers to allow the growth to keep growing. The role of factories in early Industrial
Revolutionwas to promote the growth of the United States. Factories led to the need for more
workers. More workers led to the growth of children and women in the... Show more content on

With this immigration rise, it also made it necessary for housing to move Westward for room to
live and for work to go across country.
The biggest changes that occurred during the American Revolution were that machines replaced
humans as production in the work force. This changed the work place from the fields to
factories. Conditions improved financially; but for the worker it was worse. Machines made
material faster so trade was improved between the United States and other countries. This trade
allowed for a great deal of immigration which allowed for expansion to the Western side of the
United States. The Western expansion was made possible from the rail road going through to the
West Coast. While Americans lives improved with more material things, the working conditions,
pay, and the work that they were doing was horrible. So while the industrial revolution allowed for
advances in society, it also started the fall of the society.
The industrial revolution paved the way for modern society and the way our current economic
system works. If it wasn t for the industrial revolution we wouldn t have skyscrapers, time zones,
the Brooklyn Bridge, electricity and many other liberties we take for granted. However there were
major downsides to the industrial revolution as well. Amongst these were poor treatment of many
laborers, the corruption of government, and the assassination of the president. Andrew Carnegie

Essay on I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings
Question Four Throughout her life, Marguerite experiences many different situations and people
that all contribute to the way she grows up and the person she becomes. Despite some of her
tragic circumstances, she learns a lot growing up, mainly because of the African American women
in her life who teach her all different life lessons. In I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings,
Marguerite gets to absorb teachings from her mother (Vivian), Mrs. Bertha Flowers, and her
grandmother (Momma). These women allow Marguerite to learn and grow as an African American
female, all while paving her own way. Marguerite and her brother, Bailey, are sent to live with their
grandmother at three and four, so she had little experience with her mother, Vivian,... Show more

Marguerite s mother, while not the greatest role model for her children, did all she could to take
care of them, and allowed Marguerite to see the life in a big and bustling city with a beautiful,
strong, independent, and free spirited woman. While she did learn a lot from Vivian,
Marguerite mainly gets a new idea of what an African American woman can be. It seems that
these characteristics of her mother are part of what allowed the real Marguerite, Maya Angelou,
to become a performer, as she worked as an actress and singer for a while. Her ability to put
herself out there for entertainment and enjoyment, are probably attributed to her mother, in part.
Once returning to Stamps, silent and traumatized, Marguerite meets Mrs. Bertha Flowers.
Marguerite discusses her as the aristocrat of Black Stamps. (93) Marguerite looks up to Mrs.
Flowers in many ways. She is beautiful and sophisticated and according to Marguerite, Mrs.
Flowers has remained throughout my life the measure of what a human being can be. (94) Mrs.
Flowers took Marguerite under her wing and into her home. She shared her books with her and
allowed Marguerite to read from them, spend time with her, enjoy cookies, and lemonade, all
while bringing her back from her silent ways after her rape. She encouraged Marguerite to be
intolerant of ignorance but understanding of illiteracy as not everyone had the ability or luxury to
become educated. (99) Marguerite was in awe of

Basic Concepts Of Organization Design
Basic Approach to Organization Design
Organizing is basically about who does what. It means defining responsibilities, building structures
and developing relationships (Boutros Purdie, 2013). The main element in organization is people
what they do how they work together.
When organizing a new organization structure, you must be advisable on:
what the organization is there to do
circumstance which the activities are carried out (technology, rate of growth or change,
management/style, outside environment)
requirements to achieve the aim of the organization
group related activities
establish relationships that should exist in the organization (vertically/within functions horizontally
/between functions)
ensuring that everyone in the organization understands their responsibilities, authority, structure,
relationships.
Boutros Purdie, 2013
The process of structuring an organization is akin to building something with a box of bricks. The
bricks are the key activities or groups. First thing to do is define what these bricks are. Then this is
fitted together to build up a structure. There will be several ways which these bricks can be
grouped together. Experimenting with alternative arrangements will help decide which pattern
looks best. These could be an outcome of two to three structures (Boutros Purdie, 2013).
These constant changes cause organizational problems within the structure.
Formal and informal organizations: A formal organizationcan be a

Why Iceland Is Considered One Of The Safest Countries
On Earth there are one hundred ninety five countries, and they are very diverse. There are
hundreds, if not thousands of religions in the world. Many countries have the same religion but
there can be a major difference between them. Religion is not the only difference between
countries, including food, laws, healthcare, cultural beliefs, weather, and the list goes on and on.
There is no difference when it comes to comparing the community in my home town, Akureyri, and
Faulkner s community. When I came to Faulkner I got a shock, and I know now why Icelandis
considered one of the safest countries in the world.
In Iceland the main religion is Christianity. The population of three hundred thirty thousand, divides
up in to, 80% Christianity and 20% that have other religion, or are atheist. According to a survey
from 2010, the average Icelander goes to church four times every year. Counting every time they go
to a funeral, wedding, confirmation and baptism. At Faulkner University I would say that at least
one third of students here go to church every Sunday. Icelandic education system is put up so that
every child learns about Christianity. Addition to that they have to learn the foundation of main
religions in the world; Islam, Judaism, Hinduism and Buddhism. In Iceland an ethics class is
mandatory, we learn that there is nothing that says that we are any better than the rest of the world.
Nothing says that our believes, and culture is more correct than in other countries.

Children In The Civil War Essay
The Civil War was also known as the Boys War for good reasons. The impact boys under the age
of 18 had in battle was much greater than any other war. Children at home also had to take up
many responsibilities and jobs to help with the war. Some of the boys in battle even became
famous, a legacy to the children of the Civil War.
Many children participated in battles and war responsibilities on the homefront during the Civil
War. The numbers of children that were involved in battles was very high. Just in those who
received the Congressional Medal of Honor, 48 were under the age of 18(Children in the Civil
War). Children enlisted as soldiers, but were often regiment musicians. Some also became hospital
attendants, guards, water carriers, and barbers. Even the children who stayed at home had many
responsibilities to help with the war. The boys learned the trade of the fathers and many of the
young girls helped their mothers make clothes, quilts, and organize supplies for the troops. Many
of these children had to drop out of school to help their family earn money and get food. In the
South, many children became an active part in the Southern Bread Riots(Children on the Home
Front). They lacked food, money, and other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

that came in their size(Children on the Battlefield). They also had improperly fitted uniforms.
Another thing the boys had trouble with was keeping up in drills. It was hard to keep up with the
men s pace because of their small strides, all while carrying a standard issue drum(Children on the
Battlefield). Their restless minds also caused them to get in trouble for not being focused and not

The Battle Of The Confederate Army
William Thomas was 36 and the owner of a plantation in Virginia near Norfolk. He had a wife, two
daughters, and a son who he intended to pass the plantation on to just as he father had to him.
Following the events of Fort Sumter, he elected to join the Confederate army to defend against
what he saw as the Union s invasion.
April 20, 1861 Plantation near Norfolk, VirginiaThe Yanks to the north have the nerve declare
war, and a blockade no less, against us over us taking what is rightfully ours! Fort Sumter is part
of South Carolina and therefore the property of the Confederacy. Those Union soldiers had no
right to refuse handing it over. They claim it was an act of aggression, I say we were just doing
what was necessary to take what was rightfully ours. I won t stand by while Yanks invade our
land and our homes and try to tell us how we should live our lives. Tomorrow, I will leave for
Richmond to join the Confederate Army. I will leave the plantation in my son s charge. I have
taught him how to manage it for when he inherits it himself. With luck, he will be able to manage it
at his own discretion without a bunch of bureaucrats forcing their way into his business.
April 25, 1861 Richmond, VirginiaI have arrived in Richmond and have enlisted. They eagerly
accepted me into the ranks as the need for soldiers is high. There has been talk that some may be
conscripted to fill the need.

Scientific Principles Of The Work Of Wilhelm Wundt Essay
This essay will look at scientific principles used today to perform psychological research and find
similarities and differences of that research style in the work of Wilhelm Wundt; this will be done
through looking at his approach to psychology, his lab and the impact he had on psychology in
general. The essay will then consider the Gestaltists approach to psychologyby looking at their main
beliefs, experiments and their legacy and link it to the scientific principles. Finally, it will
summarize the influence both Wundt and the Gestaltists had on establishing psychology as a
science.
Scientific principles describe the steps of psychological research, how the understanding of
behaviour is assessed, how variables are defined and data can be received.
The psychological research consists of seven steps as can be seen in figure 1.
Figure 1 (Passer, Smith, Holt, 2010, pp. 40 41)
The scientific principles also consist out of how approaches to understanding behaviour are made:
through prediction, control and theory building as well as how variables are defined and data to
measure behaviour can be received.
The first academic to look at is Wilhelm Wundtby applying the scientific principles to his work and
his contribution to establish psychology as a science. Wilhelm Wundt (1832 1920) was a German
physician who became interested in applying the physiological methods to psychological
phenomena and wanted to model the study of the mind after the natural sciences. (Passer et

Dunkin Donuts And Krispy Kreme
When it comes to the consumption of coffee and donuts, I wonder to myself who does the best
job at doing so at a reasonable price and who has the most benefits. That is when I decided that I
was to put Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Kreme side by side to see who would be the best in the
modern marketing world. In order to do this, I will be discussing the four P s to differentiate the
companies and use other material that was discussed in class. When I started to write this report;
my original plan was to use Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks to determine which would be better,
however these companies are far from comparison and I chose a company that would be more
similar in products and service, with that company being Krispy KremeDoughnuts. The first order
of business in choosing which company comes on top, is to figure out the marketing mix of the
two. According to oxforddictionaires.com, the marketing mix is defined as a combination of
factors that can be controlled by a company to influence consumers to purchase its products .
This is then broken down into product, price, promotion, and place (Grewal, 33). Using this, we
will be able to break down what each company does differently and who is more effective. The
first p we will be using is product, which is defined as an article or substance that is manufactured
or refined for sale (oxforddictionaries.com). According to the Krispy Kreme menu on its website;
they offer a wide variety of doughnuts and coffee

  • 3. Thousand Cranes By Yasunari Kawabata When it comes to emotions, there is always a reason to why one experiences them. It can be happiness due to getting a favorite toy, jealousy at another s position, hatred due to one s actions, and so on. Even sub categories are due to an experience bringing it forth. Such as suffering, one doesn t suffer randomly, it happens because it was the effect of some cause. One of the biggest causes being unfulfilled desire; depending on the significance of the desire the greater the suffering. In the novel Thousand Cranesby Yasunari Kawabatathere is this intricate web of suffering that occurs between the main characters, Kikuji, his father s, his father s mistresses and Fumiko. Suffering is seen between the protagonist s father and his two mistresses. Kikuji s father s first mistress was Chikako, he had a relationship for a short time. Then, he eventually left Chikako for Mrs. Ota, to which he spent his last days with. The dismissal from his service caused a great amount of suffering for Chikako, for she believed that she abandoned due to the birthmark on her breast. Though she never showed outward disdain for the mark on her chest, Kikuji s mother explains that any women with such a mark would be self conscience. In addition, that dread would follow a woman, because she would constantly feel fear that her husband would be disgusted by it. Also, that if she were to have children they would be forced to suckle from that hideous mark, all this Chikako was aware of which is why she never married. However, as a prostitute she had some semblance of fulfillment, since she was able to complete that sexual desire. • 4. Patriots Marching Band Case Study 1. Why do you want to be in a leadership position in the Patriots Marching Band? I am a Patriot at heart and I want to do all I can to serve this band to the best of my abilities. 2. What do you believe are your greatest leadership strengths and greatest leadership challenges? One leadership strengths I possess is that I am a very good public speaker and am able to easily address a group of people whether it is a big or small one. I also believe that I am quite approachable and friendly. One of my challenges would be trying to show the band that I could be a fun, as well as effective and productive leader. Even when I am feeling tired and slightly irritable, which I can be when tired, I will have to work hard to keep a positive attitude and to not let the negative side show though to the band. Specifically in term of your leadership qualities, commitment to band at your school, your history with Patriots and the consistency of your attitude and efforts in all three areas? First, being a five year veteran will certainly show people of my commitment and the skills that I have more than likely picked up along the way. I have always tried to support people in band where I can, especially new comers, and hope that many people in the band program respect me as both a musician and a leader. I also make an effort to be inclusive and get to know the various people in the program, for respect is largely earned not gained. This year more than ever, being a senior, I have pushed myself to lead by example and to be a positive force within the bands as well a force that younger kids can look up to. I have always held pride in all of my bands and I believe that many people know this. I by no means keep my musical passions a secret, it is a large part of who I am, and every band I play in likewise plays a role in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. How Did The Native American Removal Compared To The Holocaust The Native Americans removal can be compared to the Holocaust, but it also can t not be compared to the Holocaust. I ll start with how the removal can be compared to the Holocaust,we remove the Native Americans from their land because gold was found and moved the Native Americans, these can be compared to how the Germans took Jews to the camps. Another way to show these two events similar is when Jews had to wear a yellow star on their clothing to show they are a Jew,it s like the Renaming Program for the Native American to have a christian name or a white man name. Also was the battle of Little Bighorn, the Native American tribe was attacked by the troops of US soldiers attacked without warning or even a reason, just like how the German choose Jews to go to the forced labor camps to work everyday without a reason why they were doing it. Another way to show the two are similar,is the Native Americans didn t control the reservation land it was the Us Government that ultimately controlled it, just like the Holocaust the Jew did have a choice of what happen in the forced labor camps. On the Other side the Native American removal can t be compared with the Holocaust. The death count, the most I believe Native American death would be around forty thousand, the Holocaust death was more than two hundred thousand deaths. Another reason that these two can t be compared is the Native American got clothing unlike the Holocaust Jews bearly got any clothing. Native American were able to hunt for food in a fenced off area it was completly different then the Holocaust Jews not recieving any food at all. I believe the American government didn t make an attempt to help the Native Americans into the American culture. The medicine for the Indians that were ill was cod liver oil;no hospitals;no decent medicine;and doctors to help ill or injured Native Americans. What made me believe that the US Government of these was the reservation the Native America were placed on, Standing Rock. The Standing Rock reservation could only support only one generation, and it could barely do that much. What made these clear was the distribution of clothing and blanks, just like how Sitting Bull was seeing the other Indians getting clothing. Also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The danger is not restricted to those who practice auto racing as a legal hobby, but those who do it illegally on the streets. Street racing is an illegal and unsanctioned activity that can be spontaneous or well coordinated, often with modified cars that race on public streets. The Los Angeles (LA) traffic police issued hundreds of citations and made scores of arrests in 2014 regarding illegal street racing (Stevens, Shyong, Meija, 2016). Even with police efforts, street racing is still reported to be on the rise. An illegal street race in LA resulted in three deaths with several others injured in February this year (Stevens, Shyong, Meija, 2016) and a passenger in a street racing car in California died just this month after the driver lost control of his car and crashed into a light pole (Hamilton, 2016). Equal Rights Amendment In The 1920 s Equal Rights Amendment The Roaring Twenties brought along more than just a change in fashion and culture, it also introduced the strong fighting National Woman s Party which introduced the Equal Rights Amendment to Congress in 1923.The Equal Rights Amendment had several purposes that seemed extremely important to women, however, a bit contradicting to 1920s society and American culture. In 1912 Alice Stokes Paul and Lucy Burns were appointed into the National American Woman Suffrage Association due to their hard work and active movement in search of total gender equality. Alice Paul eventually was dissatisfied with the little impact that the NAWSA had shown to women and decide to form and become the leader of the Congressional Union. The Congressional Union s duty was to directly pressure the government into giving equal rights to both men and women. Chinese Culture According to Zimmermann (2015), Culture is the distinctive features and knowledge of a specific group of people, outlined by everything from cuisine, social habits, language, religion, arts, and music. • 11. The Role Of Gender And Gender Inequality In Ancient Greece From ancient times the woman was perceived and acknowledged as inferior to men. The female element in ancient Greece was a significant part of the procreation and a form of entertainment. For example, the hierarchical character of Aristotle has played an significant role in reducing the women s value and role in society. The intended purpose of the female gender was to be a keeper, to clean and cook while the male was the provider with less emotions. However, this socially structured vision is strongly based on gendered appearance without questioning the confines of the self expansion and individuality. Performing gender has been habitually implemented on daily basis perhaps until the first feminist movement in the 1800s which lead society to question gender inequality and androcentrism. Furthermore, identity has been ingrained in the royal family through performed gender and iteration of act serves to perpetually reproduce. But is gender only a narrative which fortify expectations and stereotypes of what means to be a male or female? The princess of Wales, Diana Spencer is a quintessential example of the blending genders in modern society and brought a new life to the Monarchy. She has made a significant change in our perception and her character contained every attribute that a role model should exhibit. Coming from an aristocratic family with initially a country girl like style, her identity transformed into a sophisticated, honoured princess and beloved mother. With grace and style, Diana changed the 19th century anachronism of the British Monarchy to the attainable modern institution that it is today. She was a representation of a supremely regal woman who stood by her husband s side hence, independently continued to establish her identity alone after their divorce. On daily basis, she had numerous roles and activities starting from a loving mother, inspiration to the world, organizer of charities and many other royal duties. The Princess of Wales was not a puppet of the Royal family, she had a determined personality to make a change for a better world. Her compassion and hope played a core role in illustrating her social and political eminence. In a way, she used the press to shape her own image ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 1985 pigs were engineered with a human gene that produces human growth hormone. The scientists goal was to produce a faster growing pig. What they got was a freak show. Many individuals prefer marijuana over anything else to relax. An argument on why people using marijuana spend more time in jail than actual criminals. Medical marijuana should be legalized at the federal law... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I think this is important because marijuana really does help people with their health and it should be considered to be legalized by the federal law. Medical marijuana should be legalized at the federal law for medical purposes because the federal government does not like the idea of legalizing marijuana and bans the use of medical marijuana, but there is a growing number of states that feel differently, so that is why it should be legalized. Back in 2012 18 states including Washington, D.C., legalized medical marijuana. These states legalized it for people with conditions such as epilepsy, cancer, chronic pain, and etc. These states still cannot stop the federal government from imposing its own laws. These federal drug laws were unreasonably extreme. Consider the case of Chris Williams, who opened a marijuana greenhouse in Montana after the state legalized medical marijuana. Many people feel the need to legalize medical marijuana so why not legalize it? The only thing holding people back is the federal law. Medical marijuana should be legalized at the federal law for medical purposes because many people already support the legalization of medical marijuana. (Brooks, 2014). Put in between these two episodes of dramatic tension and emotional intensity, Book III may at the surface merely serve as a buffer, that is, a temporary relief from the breath taking conflicts on the part of the audience. Actually, the dramatic rhythm at this stage does slow down. As the central character, Hongniang frequently evokes laughter from the audience with her quick repartee and satirical comments on the pretentious lovers. Apart from all this, however, by making Hongniang sing all the time and keeping the lovers relatively reticent they are only heard in dialogues Book III complicates the interrelationships between the three characters and significantly contributes to the psychological depth of this play. In other words, while foregrounding Hongniang and exploring the complexity in her motivation, the play also employs her as a vehicle for the off stage conflicts between Zhang Sheng and Yingying and their inner conflicts, which are much less spectacular than they are psychological. Today, the naturalization process is a large controversial topic. To become a citizen one has to go through a series of tests including topics about US government, language, and civics. One has to be able to speak and understand English which can be extremely difficult as a second language. Because it is so difficult to becoming a citizen or let alone enter a country with certain permissions, immigrants are illegally crossing the border causing issues and tension with existing United States citizens. Once immigrants become citizens they ultimately benefit society for everyone by paying taxes and serving others. Making the naturalization process easier would create jobs for immigrants and help them to live legally in the US safely. Some oppose this option because they believe citizens would begin to overpopulate. Actually, the only number that would increase would be the number of United States citizens, not the number of immigrants overall. Making the citizenship process easier and simpler would accommodate the immigrants by making them eligible for jobs and legal, steady income with all the benefits of a United States citizen. Because of the inability to find legal labor as an illegal immigrant, many turn to human trafficking as an occupation. As stated by Tsin Yen Koh, a graduate student from Harvard, Tightening immigration policies and controls increases human trafficking. It becomes more difficult for labor migrants to enter and work in the destination country legally. (Koh). Koh is explaining in this article that if the policies on one entering the United States along with citizenship were loosened, trafficking would not be such a major issue. Similarly, Marissa Urgate wrote in her Journal of Trauma Practice as a result of the United States creating restrictions against illegal immigrants, they engage in labor jobs such as prostitution and trafficking (Urgate). • 18. American Involvement Of Foreign Affairs Essay American Involvement In Foreign Affairs Kennith Raba For the longest time America has been known to ally with foreign countries, or be involved with few disputes in other countries. Yes, we need to trade and keep peace. However, what is better peace or to not be involved at all? Now, is a circumstance where we are stuck in Iraq and Afghan over issues such as terroristic activities but why did they start? America does have its own gas storage, not only that but there are areas where oil can be dug up from and bought from within borders and it could be sold amongst the few of us, instead we bought it from the middle east and when they fought amongst each other we got involved to keep the trade going, when it was none of our business. Yes World Peace is a great concept, But it doesn t work, there will always be problems and trying to fix them only seems to make it worst, American forces should serve to defend and only attack after we ve been attacked not used to help end civil wars or so on, it s not our business, and most definitely not our problem but due to us stepping in, it becomes one. Although several articles from Wanda Knight and Jessie Whitehead have discussed the importance of including a Black feminist and woman of color perspective, nothing definitive can be found in the current art education curriculum. Through the use of Charles Mills theory of revisionist ontology, I will discuss the importance and value of including a Black feminist perspective in the K 12 art education curriculum. Overview of K 12 Art Education and the Need A Feminist Perspective in Art Art education has many facets that are beneficial to art students. In the field of art education, aesthetics (as in the philosophy of art) attends to the development of critical thinking skills and philosophical inquiry through classroom dialogue (Ambush, 2008, p.14). In art education, the student has the opportunity to understand and learn visual aesthetics, cognitive, motor, emotional, social, and artistic skills to express critical thinking, sensitivity, and cultural identity (SchoГ±au, 2013). In An Exploration of the Issue of Stereotyping in the Artroom, Sheng Kuan Chung (2008) examines the issue of stereotypes and claims art education offers students the opportunity to examine prejudiced or unjust social practices that permeate society and to confront such practices from a critical point of view (p. 24). • 23. The Development Of The Psyche As a child, people are in the most delicate phase of life. They are a freshly budded lily, absorbing all the light, moisture, and nutrients possible in order to bloom into an adult. These essential fertilizers predominantly come from their parents, who nurture them into the person they will become. This unit commonly consists of a motherand father. The mother a symbol of intimacy and maternal comfort, and the father a symbol of strength and stature. The balance of this yin and yang is extremely important for the development of the psyche. Having a fatherless childhoodor a childhood with a degenerate father is common in today s society. The effects of not having a father figure ripple through childhood and lay roots in the subconscious. There are two types of a fatherless childhood. Some grow up without a father in their life entirely, without any knowledge of who he may have been. Others grow up with a father in their life that does more destructive impact than constructive impact. Some may say that a destructive parent is still a parent to their child, but arguably a parent without constructive development to their spawn is not a parent at all. This hollow in a child s life leaves a space for destructive energy to breed. Many challenges adults face within themselves reflect back into their childhood. The subconscious is the seed left over from the lily s bloom, which died along with childhood innocence. The fight to gain back said innocence is the ultimate struggle. ... The Renaissance and Italy s Decline The Renaissance and Italy s Decline Definition: The period in European civilization immediately following the Middle Ages, conventionally held to have been characterized by a surge of interest in classical learning and values. Set in the city states of Italy in the fourteenth, fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, the constant uncertainty, both economic and political, and extreme volatility of the historical situation provided the material for new intellectual, cultural, and social experiments that would at their conclusion provide the means of constructing a new European mono cultural identity, one focused on humanistic studies, science, and the arts. In Italy the Renaissance proper was preceded by an important proto renaissance in the late 13th and early 14th centuries, which drew inspiration from Franciscan radicalism. St. Francis had rejected the formal Scholasticism of the prevailing Christian theology and gone out among the poor praising the beauties and spiritual value of nature. His example inspired Italian artists and poets to take pleasure in the world around them. The work of the most famous artist of the proto renaissance period, Giotto (1266/67 or 1276 1337), reveals a new pictorial style that depends on clear, simple structure and great psychological penetration rather than on the flat, linear decorativeness and hierarchical compositions of his predecessors and contemporaries. The great poet Dante lived at about the same time as Giotto, and his poetry shows a similar concern with inward experience and the subtle shades and variations of human nature. In this definition there seems to be no mention of inventing but rather only the alteration of a product in a way never done before. It s not that the alteration of a product is bad thing but it does create a very limited thinking world; a world that relies on the blueprints of the past to create a future. So have we really lost our ability to innovate? Not really, it s just that innovation has become merely focused on technology. It seems like technology will be the future. Generals die in Bed by Charles Yale Harrison is a novel where a young Canadian soldier tells of his first hand account of the harsh and inhumane conditions in the trenches on the Western Front during World War 1. Through his observations and experiences the Narrator shows the effects of war on ordinary people and how they manage in extraordinarily horrific situations. Even though the brutal nature of the war is often reflected in the violent way that combatants act towards one another there are also moments when compassion and mercy is shown. The novel demonstrates that in extreme situations both the dark and the good side of human ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However we also are shown bravery, companionship and acts of kindness as the soldiers struggle to stay humane and sane in a hellish environment. Throughout the novel they are compassionate and caring to even their enemies in their darkest moments. They also illustrate the dark and unforgiving side of human nature. They show no pity or mercy even while being pleaded too. Throughout the novel the Narrator often shows compassion towards others in his actions eg. letting the German soldier grieve for his dead brother letting him take a few letters and papers from his brother s pockets and imagines how their mother would feel. He then helps the Germans to safety behind the lines amp; asks that the prisoners be treated nicely. Just like their constant companions the lice and the rats, the soldiers in the trench adapt to the hell that they find themselves trapped in doing whatever it takes to survive. They even fight each other over food at each others throats like hungry, snarling animals . As the novel amp; the war progresses so does the inhumane side of the soldiers who become increasing more detached from killing, unconcerned with the death of friends. The soldiers are conditioned, hardened up and desensitised with self preservation becoming a key motivator. This is shown as the soldiers plunder the city of Arras allies town and vandalize houses with no consideration of the local ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. The Day That Changed My Life And Love Of Volleyball Sunday February 28th, 2015. I remember that date, as if it happened yesterday. That was the day that changed my life and love of volleyball. This was the day I got severely injured during a volleyball tournament. The day had started and gone by painfully slow. Wherever I walked throughout North High School hallways you noticed volleyball bags, blankets, coolers, food and wrappers all stuffed into a small corner that a team redeemed as their spot. When I walked back into the muggy hot gym, I could smell the knee pads, ankle braces, and sweat from all the girls playing. Along with the sound of whistles from referees and the agonizing squeaking sound of the shoes moving against the gym floors. My team and I made our way to an empty... (A ball that will be returned by a pass rather than a spike.) They easily passed that ball and they tried to run a fast offense and do a quick set, (a set (usually 2 above the net) in which the hitter is approaching the setter, and may even be in the air, before the setter delivers the ball.) but I realized it right away and went up to block and I got it, but their coverage was where it needed to be also and they got the ball up. After doing that their setting came up and dumped (The setter dump is an attack in which the setter becomes an offensive threat to score points and cause a distraction to the opponent s block and floor defenders. The conversion of units between KeVВµm 1 and MeVcm 1 is 1 KeVВµm 1 = 10MeV cm 1.1 The variation in stopping power value with energy for protons. A heavy charged particle traversing matter loses energy mainly through the ionization and excitation of atom. A heavy charged particle can transfer a very small fraction of its energy in an electronic collision (inelastic collision) and loses energy continuously along its path at the linear rate. 1 The energy loss by charged particles in a medium is called the stopping power or linear ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As protons move through liquid water, they ionize or excite atoms or molecules of the matter (water) and deposit a dose or energy along their path. If a charged particle has a greater energy and moving faster, it has a lower tendency to lose energy along its path in per unit path length.5 Similarly, at higher energy, protons move relatively faster and thus ionize and excite fewer molecules, therefore, its stopping power is lower.5 However, as their energy decrease, protons transfer more energy to the medium and the stopping power would be higher as shown in Figure 1. Consequently, the stopping power or LET depends on its energy.5 The energy loss increases towards the end of the range, reaches a maximum, which is called the Bragg peak, and abruptly drop to zero before the protons stop. The Bragg peak occurs because the interaction cross section of the medium increases as the proton s energy decreases.1, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Most people believe that the American Industrial Revolution began when Samuel Slater brought technology from Britain to America. This technology allowed America to use manufacturing to quicken production. Industrial items such as the sewing machine, river boats, trains, telegraph, and mills allowed for growth in the United States. Immigrants from other countries gave the industrial growth enough workers to allow the growth to keep growing. With this immigration rise, it also made it necessary for housing to move Westward for room to live and for work to go across country. The biggest changes that occurred during the American Revolution were that machines replaced humans as production in the work force. This changed the work place from the fields to factories. Conditions improved financially; but for the worker it was worse. Machines made material faster so trade was improved between the United States and other countries. This trade allowed for a great deal of immigration which allowed for expansion to the Western side of the United States. The Western expansion was made possible from the rail road going through to the West Coast. While Americans lives improved with more material things, the working conditions, pay, and the work that they were doing was horrible. So while the industrial revolution allowed for advances in society, it also started the fall of the society. The industrial revolution paved the way for modern society and the way our current economic system works. If it wasn t for the industrial revolution we wouldn t have skyscrapers, time zones, the Brooklyn Bridge, electricity and many other liberties we take for granted. However there were major downsides to the industrial revolution as well. Amongst these were poor treatment of many laborers, the corruption of government, and the assassination of the president. While she did learn a lot from Vivian, Marguerite mainly gets a new idea of what an African American woman can be. It seems that these characteristics of her mother are part of what allowed the real Marguerite, Maya Angelou, to become a performer, as she worked as an actress and singer for a while. Her ability to put herself out there for entertainment and enjoyment, are probably attributed to her mother, in part. It means defining responsibilities, building structures and developing relationships (Boutros Purdie, 2013). The main element in organization is people what they do how they work together. When organizing a new organization structure, you must be advisable on: what the organization is there to do circumstance which the activities are carried out (technology, rate of growth or change, management/style, outside environment) requirements to achieve the aim of the organization group related activities establish relationships that should exist in the organization (vertically/within functions horizontally /between functions) ensuring that everyone in the organization understands their responsibilities, authority, structure, relationships. Boutros Purdie, 2013 The process of structuring an organization is akin to building something with a box of bricks. The bricks are the key activities or groups. First thing to do is define what these bricks are. Then this is fitted together to build up a structure. There will be several ways which these bricks can be grouped together. Experimenting with alternative arrangements will help decide which pattern looks best. These could be an outcome of two to three structures (Boutros Purdie, 2013). These constant changes cause organizational problems within the structure. Formal and informal organizations: A formal organizationcan be a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are hundreds, if not thousands of religions in the world. Many countries have the same religion but there can be a major difference between them. Religion is not the only difference between countries, including food, laws, healthcare, cultural beliefs, weather, and the list goes on and on. There is no difference when it comes to comparing the community in my home town, Akureyri, and Faulkner s community. When I came to Faulkner I got a shock, and I know now why Icelandis considered one of the safest countries in the world. In Iceland the main religion is Christianity. The population of three hundred thirty thousand, divides up in to, 80% Christianity and 20% that have other religion, or are atheist. According to a survey from 2010, the average Icelander goes to church four times every year. Counting every time they go to a funeral, wedding, confirmation and baptism. At Faulkner University I would say that at least one third of students here go to church every Sunday. Icelandic education system is put up so that every child learns about Christianity. Addition to that they have to learn the foundation of main religions in the world; Islam, Judaism, Hinduism and Buddhism. In Iceland an ethics class is mandatory, we learn that there is nothing that says that we are any better than the rest of the world. Nothing says that our believes, and culture is more correct than in other countries. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 53. Scientific Principles Of The Work Of Wilhelm Wundt Essay This essay will look at scientific principles used today to perform psychological research and find similarities and differences of that research style in the work of Wilhelm Wundt; this will be done through looking at his approach to psychology, his lab and the impact he had on psychology in general. The essay will then consider the Gestaltists approach to psychologyby looking at their main beliefs, experiments and their legacy and link it to the scientific principles. Finally, it will summarize the influence both Wundt and the Gestaltists had on establishing psychology as a science. Scientific principles describe the steps of psychological research, how the understanding of behaviour is assessed, how variables are defined and data can be received. The psychological research consists of seven steps as can be seen in figure 1. Figure 1 (Passer, Smith, Holt, 2010, pp. 40 41) The scientific principles also consist out of how approaches to understanding behaviour are made: through prediction, control and theory building as well as how variables are defined and data to measure behaviour can be received. The first academic to look at is Wilhelm Wundtby applying the scientific principles to his work and his contribution to establish psychology as a science. Wilhelm Wundt (1832 1920) was a German physician who became interested in applying the physiological methods to psychological phenomena and wanted to model the study of the mind after the natural sciences. That is when I decided that I was to put Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Kreme side by side to see who would be the best in the modern marketing world. In order to do this, I will be discussing the four P s to differentiate the companies and use other material that was discussed in class. When I started to write this report; my original plan was to use Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks to determine which would be better, however these companies are far from comparison and I chose a company that would be more similar in products and service, with that company being Krispy KremeDoughnuts. The first order of business in choosing which company comes on top, is to figure out the marketing mix of the two. According to oxforddictionaires.com, the marketing mix is defined as a combination of factors that can be controlled by a company to influence consumers to purchase its products . This is then broken down into product, price, promotion, and place (Grewal, 33). Using this, we will be able to break down what each company does differently and who is more effective. The first p we will be using is product, which is defined as an article or substance that is manufactured or refined for sale (oxforddictionaries.com).
