Regulatory
Regulations around food trucks can very wildly depending on locations. They must meet many
similar codes and regulations that restaurants do because of food safely laws( How to Start a
Retail Food Business ) . They must also be knowledgeable able of all of the local sanitation
regulations. A lack of regulations though is linked with a growth in the industry (Odendahl 2012).
Vending laws also play a big part, when and where can your truck operate? Your location influence
this a lot. Liz Leslie (2013) used Indianapolis as an example on how regulations influence the food
truck business;
Two years ago, a city ordinance threatened the burgeoning food truck scene by prohibiting vendors

Economic
Food trucks are a step up from fast food and a notch below sit down restaurants. They can give
what many normal restaurants can t, affordability. They give what fast food cant t, healthy food.
Food trucks have turned out to be incredibly resilient to our suffering economy (Gaur 2013).
Statistics and numbers only confirm what we see on the streets, food trucks have come and will be
staying; and making a huge profit. IBISworlds Market research report shows just this in their
SWOT analysis
The Street Vendors industry is in a growth phase of its life cycle. Over the 10 years to 2017,
industry value added (IVA), which measures an industry s contribution to GDP, will grow at an
average annual rate of 3.5%. By comparison, GDP is anticipated to grow at an annualized 2.1%
over the same period.
If you read the entire report you can also find that in contradiction to what you might think with the
30,810 street vendor businesses in operation no one has any dominant share (Gaur 2013).
Food trucks not only have reasonable food prices, but reasonable prices to start one as well. They
are not the only ones to notice the economies influence on food trucks, Jane Seo who is writing her

The Unredeemed Captive by John Demos Essay
The Unredeemed Captive by John Demos
John Demos in a sense presents themes that are entirely familiar and conventional. The themes of
sin, retribution, and repentance are very prevalent in his writing. The loss of piety, the failure of
spiritual nerve, the absolute necessity of reform; and the certainty of God s punishment if reform
was not achieved appear throughout his book (Demos). (In this instance, Eunice s failure to return
to her native land is putting her at risk in the eyes of God). For approximately 60 years John
Williams who had been a captive for almost two years, and is one of the main characters of the
story writes different letters, sermons, in an effort to reach the captive daughter. According to John
Williams, God ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The order of these writings is important as are the time and the setting in which each one was
composed. These writings reveal much of what captivity meant to him. In addition, Demos
incorporates parallels from the Bible such as biblical passages to illustrate or compare the return of
Naomi to Bethlehem in Stephen Williams sermon to put pressure on his sister Euncie to return to
Deefield (Demos 191). Noemi, in effect was redeemed by returning to her home (Demos 192).
The circumstances of captivity were as varied as the number of people involved on both sides.
Prisoner redemption was the process of prisoner exchange that had long been unfair. Captives
were subject to ransom, trade for other key people, and sometimes prisoners decided to remain in
captivity since escape was very dangerous. Acculturation which included adoption and repatriation
were choices for some of them as well. For example, Eunice s inability to speak English and her
personal appearance announce her loyalty to other standards (Demos 146). She had been fully
integrated or Indianized (Demos 142). Eunice comes of age in her adoptive community, secure, and
increasingly well integrated. The trauma of capture including as it did the deaths of her mother and

Presidential Election Advantages
I believe that the US Presidential election should deserve all the media attention it is receiving
because the USA is one of the strongest world economies and will have a massive influence on
other country s economies. The US politics are known to be very complex. Even though we re
inundated with the media coverage of this election, it can still be difficult to figure out what exactly
is happening. In 2014 it was stated that more and more americans are using cell phones to follow
political news with 28 percent of registered voters. In other words, people are following election
news and development in which this can help them understand more of the US politics from
looking at social media sites and blogs. As every economic situation in the world

The “Roaring 20’S” And The “Jazz Age” Produced
Great...
The roaring 20 s and the Jazz Age produced great literature. The characters and plots were often
held together by images, ideas, sounds or words that help a reader understand an idea and help
to explain the central idea of a literary work. F. Scott Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby is full of rich
symbols. Like many of the most interesting symbols, the green light changes and develops its
meaning through the novel. The green light that is displayed at the end of Daisy and Tom s East
egg dock, is the symbol of Gatsby s hopes and dreams. In Chapter 1, Nick observes Gatsby one
night: Something in his leisurely movements and the secure position of his feet upon the lawn
suggested that it was Mr. Gatsby himself, come out to determine what share... Show more content

Compared to the great distance that separated him from Daisy it had seemed very near to her,
almost touching her. It had seemed as close as a star to the moon. Now it was again a green light
on a dock. His count of enchanted objects had diminished by one (93). The symbol changes for
Gatsby because the present Daisy is different than the Daisy from the past that he fell in love
with in Louisville. In addition to this strong literary symbol, another great one is Dr. TJ
Eckleburg and the Valley of Ashes. The eyes of Doctor T. J. Eckleburg are: blue and gigantic
their retinas are one yard high. They look out of no face, but, instead, from a pair of enormous
yellow spectacles which pass over a nonexistent nose. Evidently, some wild wag of an oculist set
them there to fatten his practice in the borough of Queens, and then sank down himself into eternal
blindness, or forgot them and moved away. But his eyes dimmed a little by many paintless days
under sun and rain, brood on over the solemn dumping ground (24). Some readers may pick up that
the billboard represents God s eyes looking down on the society judging America s morals.Instead,
throughout the novel, Fitzgerald suggests that the mere essence of Dr. TJ Eckleburg symbolizes
deprivation of the American soul. The billboard is placed there to encourage business; however, it
lays untidy and abandoned. Also with the

Essay On Anselm s Ontological Argument
Ontological Argument
Anselm s ontological argument states that: We define God as the greatest of all conceived beings.
A being that is necessary is greater than a being that is not necessary.
If God exists as an idea, but not in reality, then we can imagine something greater than Him.
If God is a perfect being, we cannot imagine a being greater than Him.
Thus, if God exists in the mind as an idea, then God necessarily exists in reality.
In Anselm s argument, necessary existence means that the existence of something is not dependent
on any other being. For God to have necessary existence, then his existence is not dependent on
anything. In nature, almost every living being is dependent on something such as a parent. Thus,
making God the only being to have necessary existence.
However, there are many reasons that the ontological argument can be deemed invalid. It
equivocates between different frames of reference. Nothing greater that can be thought is not the
same as nothing greater than can exist. This argument only really shows that the greatest thing to
exist in reality will always be greater than its imaginary counterpart, which is not true as anything
that exists in reality is more susceptible to flaws, but a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is an example of the Fallacy of Composition, define as the error of assuming that what is
true of a member of a group is also true for the group as a whole. Hume also states that the

assume a necessary creator rather than a necessary universe. He states that an existing being can
also not exist, so a necessary being does not make sense regarding that

Lord Krishna one of the most powerful incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Lord Krishna plays a very
vital role in the Hinduism thoughts and philosophies, influencing not only the religion, philosophy

feelings however are not same.
Were his deeds right or not is a big question. Were all the decisions taken by him right? The way
he behaved around draupadi was it right? Was his manipulating Arjun right? So many questions

Problems Facing The World Wide Web
Problems Facing The World Wide Web
While flipping through the old pages of a book on Speech and Communication, my eyes caught
the following lines of Marshall McLuhan: Someday the whole world would be a global village.
He was simply referring to the idealized concept of a diverse community where people of different
races and cultures would commune together (New York of today, for example). Little did McLuhan
know that his words will one day become literal.
That day is today! After the short dial up rattle of my ISP, I loaded Netscape Navigator into my

Today, hundreds of ISPs (InternetService Providers) are opening the gateway of the Internet for
millions of users around the globe. Connections are generally transmitted over POTS (Plain Old

the world wide web. There are many other components such as BBS (Bulletin Board Systems), FTP
(File Transfer Protocol), E Mail (Electronic Mail), Information Services, Newsgroups and many
more.
Today, with little or no cost, a user can setup his or her own web site. A domain address is

Pope John Paul II created amazing things, but not in a way you would expect. He created ideas.
Instead of doing things the way everyone else did, he made people think. At an early age, John
Paul was exposed to wonderful outgoing people that inspired him, like Jan Tryanowski. (http:/

How Does Plath Use Of Personification
Plath uses the simple tree and flower as manifestations of desire. Personification is heavily used to
transform the tree and the flower from plants to people the narrator wants to become, and they are
also used to emphasize the traits the narrator desires. The tree is fruit bearing, stable, and peaceful.
The narrator is upset that she lacks the trees ability to bear fruit, and the fruit represents
achievement, and the lack of fruit represents the narrator s discomfort at lacking achievement. Plath
writes, Sucking up minerals and motherly love / So that each March I may gleam into leaf, (l.3;

The most important pieces of punctuation are the periods at the end of select lines. Periods are
used to end thoughts, while commas at the end are used to indicate slight change in the thought.
Using periods as dividers, the poem is divided into seven sections, all different but reinforce the
ideas of insecurity, desire, isolation, and neglect. The first section, which is only line one, explains
the narrator s rejection of herself, which easily transitions to sections two and three. These two
sections describe what she wants to be, first with the narrator becoming them, and then her
comparing herself to them. Sections two and three explain the effect others have on insecurity
because they represent the idealized version of her. Section four details her isolation, neglect, and
invisibility to them. The setting of night, which represents darkness, offers a half baked
explanation to the narrator s invisibility, however, the fact there is starlight shows that the trees
and flowers are purposefully ignoring her. With this invisibility, her feelings snowball into
neglect and isolation. Section five is similar to sections two and three; it is a repeat of her
comparison to the trees and flowers. Section six is a reinforcement of her insecurities, and her out
of placeness. Section seven is a detailed continuation of six, but the ending of section seven
represents her insecurities and her neglect. Word pairings such as useful... finally (l.19) and touch
me for one...have time for me (l.20) clearly demonstrate her hope that if she changes, she will be
accepted by them. Plath s usage of end punctuation creates an easy flowing cycle of insecurity; the
insecurity is made known, the justification behind it is shown; it is then reiterated; and the narrator
finally finds peace in the fantasy of being like the trees and the flowers. The constant

Essay History of the Scientific Method
Scientific method is the way scientists learn and study the world around them. It is the process by
which scientists work over a period of time to construct an accurate (i.e. reliable, consistent and non
arbitrary) representation of the world. In the study of natural phenomenon, personal and cultural
beliefs strongly influence our interpretations and perceptions. Scientific methodrelies on standard
procedures to minimize these influences when developing a theory.
Scientific method consists of four steps:
(1) Making an observation of a phenomenon.
(2) Formulating a hypotheses to explain the phenomenon.
(3) Proving the hypotheses correct by a series of experiments and tests. If the experiments do not

Almost 2000 years later Galileo challenged Aristotle s s work on mechanics and cosmology. Galileo
did not ridicule Aristotle, but simply showed that he had jumped to the wrong conclusions and
derived at inadequate answers because of his physics being not very mathematical. Errors in
Aristotle s work were rectified through direct observation and by the availability of new instruments
and experimentation techniques in the 17th century. Amongst other contributions, Galileo
contradicted Aristotle s view that bodies naturally returned to their natural place. It is believed that
Galileo demonstrated by throwing different weights from the Leaning Tower of Pisa that the weight
of the bodies was irrelevant to their speed of falling and only the density of the medium counted.
Lavoisier interpreted facts discovered by others and corrected them for errors. He is considered
the father of chemistry although he discovered no new chemical substances apart from a few new

feminist, magical realism, and picaresque works. Angela Carter story The Company of Wolves
British Gothic fantasy horror film was directed by Neil Jordan in 1984. Angela Carter s literary
work is her interest in changing gender roles and this is evident in both stories The Company of
wolves tells the story of a girl who is deceived and captured by the fake form of a handsome man
who is actually the wolf in the story. In The Company of Wolves and Wolf Alice , Angela Carter

In the company of wolves carter uses words such as knife to show braveness of the girl. When
the girl laughs looking at the wolf it too signifies that the girl won t be bullied or feel afraid of
any beast. Accept otherness, and give confidence the other to do so because everyone is
intelligent to find pleasure and live contently even though the views of society may enjoy.
According to Carter feminism does not mean a dominating sex, but equal opportunity between
genders, as each is equal within creation. Carter influences the reader the danger of women being
deceived and captured by the false form of men. This idea is totally differing in Wolf Alice it is
women who are obtainable as beasts and the only passion that complete them as human is that they
were not actually wolves. Nothing about her is human except that she is not a wolf (Biblioklept,
2013). Both the story has all the quality of Carter s writing style which she uses a mixture of basics
and sensible fiction to change the conventional characteristic of the fairy tale style. Angela Carter
meaning from the both story is same, that women should transform the roles and develop into the
aggressor instead of the target, she use different themes to present it and women have the most

Equiano s Depiction Of His African Brethren And Their Place
Discuss Equiano s depictions of his African brethren and their place/role in society on both sides
of the Atlantic. For example: What is life and slavery like in Africa? In America? How is life
different for slaves and free black men in America (is one better or worse according to Equiano)?
Samuel Jeffcoat
AMH2010 16Spring 0W59
February 26, 2016
Life for Equiano was an emotional roller coaster. He was overwhelmed by turmoil and rejoice as
he was separated and reunited with his family, anguish from constant voyages from master to
master, satisfied regardless of his particular situation with regard to slavery, and most importantly
determined to elucidate society as to what life as a slave was like. Equiano s experience on
African soil was filled with pleasantries and hardships while his experiences on American soil
was Equiano s opportunity for religion and education. Slave owners in Africa were far more
accustomed to African ways of life in contrast to the slave owners in America, and although his
voyage on the middle passage into European territories left him culture shocked and disgusted with
European treatment of slaves, eventually he adjusted to European customs and way of life in
America. To start, the African slave owners better understood the adversities and agony the African
natives had to overcome as well as their ways of life, thus treating them respectfully while the
middle passage left him feeling violated and mistreated. The slave owners in

Last Day Of High School
The last day of my Early College High School (ECHS) 2017 year, was a day I will never forget. On
the last day of school, I got to drive my dad s truck; I remember telling myself I can t wait until I
get my own car, which is something I asked for on my Christmas list to Santa. I went to classes
ready to get my last final over with. The day went by pretty fast after the test, then we went to
lunch and then we had clubs. Since my club was not allowed to go to the gym, I stayed inside
with the Medical club. In the medical club, Cody gave a long presentation on the different
Affordable Care Acts (ACA) proposal, and we got into a debate which got me ready for the break
even more.
At the beginning of the break, I was excited to be out of school, I had made so many plans. I
made plans to go to Austin and go to the spray paint park, and travel to Louisiana to celebrate my
niece s first birthday, but all of my plans were ruined.
For the first week of my break, I was sick. I winded up catching both the flu and strep throat, I
thought my Christmas break would be ruined, but it wasn t. During the time that I was sick, I got to
plan which Christmas gifts to get my family members instead of waiting until the last moment, and
everyone winded up loving their gifts. Due to the fact of me being sick, I couldn t go anywhere;
which meant no chores, no being told to get out the house; I actually had time to relax. While
relaxing I caught on my Netflix shows and my sleep.

Corruption In Oliver Twist
With his view on people, influenced by the faith of the goodness in humanity, Charles dickens
portrays in a compassionate way the poor and overlooked s poor conditions in the 1800 century, in
his popular novel Oliver Twist .
London, it was here the industrial revelation commenced, and it became the biggest social
alteration in history. People left their homes, and traveled from the countryside to the big city
for work at the new factories. Millions came to let time pass by, while living in miserable poverty.
Hard workers, children of the street, prostitutes, thieves and beggars where all part of the group of

Access to lifesaving medication also will be much harder.Recently, there were protest done by

Human Nature Establishes Political Authority
Now that we have an understanding of the three different accounts of the state of nature, it is
important to understand the differing accounts of how human nature establishes political authority.
Hobbes believes that because the state of nature is a constant state of war, the role of government
must be to protect the people to protect people from themselves. Therefore, the purpose of political
authority is to enforce law and order, and that the purpose of government is to control and be
authoritative and should not be responsible for representing the people. Hobbes believes that you
must give up your natural rights for peace. In the social contractman give up their rights to the
state, but the social contract can only be signed among those who are equal as it is a contract
established by the enforcer. Locke has a differing view that the establishment of political authority
is to ensure that men have their property rights protected. Locke believes that the greatest purpose
that men have for society is to be able to use their property, and to do safe while doing so.
Therefore, Locke believes that the most important positive law that society should establish is the
right to legislative power. To be governed under legislative power means that the government has to
have the consent of the people. By having a government that is accountable to the people they
represent, it will protect the people being governed against oppression, a government that has the
consent of the people

This was followed by further participations for example Hannoverschen Bank or the shareholding of
Essener Credit Anstalt in 1903. The large numbers of participations helped to strenghten Deutsche
Bank s position by taking influence of the regional banks.
In 1914 Deutsche Bank rethought their strategy once again. As the banks biggest competitors,
Dresdner Bank and Diskonto Gesellschaft had, at that time, a great network of branches in
Germany they wanted to establish their presence with their own name.
Following the merger of Deutsche Bank and Bergisch Märkischen Bank in 1914 and
Norddeutschen Creditanstalt and Bergisch Märkischen Bank in 1917 Deutsche Bank became the
biggest universal bank in the world with roughly 40 branch offices. Over the next years many
mergers, participations and stock swaps followed. In 1929 The biggest ever merger in German
banking history creates the Deutsche Bank und Disconto Gesellschaft . The concentration
throughout the industry and the increasing costs were the main reasons for this merger. Due to this
strategy Deutsche Bank was able to establish a branch network all over Germany. This merger
increased the number of branches to roughly 300 branch offices.[3]

Cultural Identity Among Sudanese Youth
Who are we? A study on cultural identity among Sudanese youth. Background Who am I or who
are we? are both questions that require in depth knowledge of identity. A complex sociological
and psychological phenomenon, identity has been classified into many types. Self identity is
defined as an individual s awareness and expression of their distinctive characteristics. Weinreich
(1986) highlighted that it is influenced by both the individual s past experiences and future
aspirations and contributes to the formation of one s self esteem, and individuality. It also
indicates the individual s capacity for self reflection (Leary Tangney 2003). Cultural identity is the
shared identity by all members of a social group and describes the expression of that group s
affiliations (Weinreich Saunderson 2003). It helps them gain a sence of belonging and creates
strong bonds of association. This sence of cultural identity can be through similarities in nationality,
locality, ethnicity, social class, religion, generation or any form of distinct social group
characteristics. However, there may be differences between members with these shared cultures.
Ancestry, skin tone, spoken language, and political attitudes can all distinguish between individuals
within social groups (Holliday, 2010). This can lead to discrimination, tribalism and racism as
society members evaluate those who are in the group from those who are out of the group (Cote
Levine 2002). Sudan has a population

Clarissa Harlow, American Red Cross, Educator And Nurse
Clarissa Harlow Clara Barton was founder of American Red Cross, educator and nurse. She was
born in Oxford, Massachusetts on December 25, 1821. She spent much of her time helping
others, such as tending to her brother after he was involved in an accident. At the age of 15 she
became a schoolteacher and later went to open a free public school in New Jersey. She later
became a clerk in the U.S. Patent Office in 1854 but lost the job two years later when the
Democrats won the presidency. Throughout her life she was a teacher and helped people
whenever the opportunity appeared. From 1861 1865 the Civil War had taken place in the
United States. Many men went and fought to protect the rights that they believed in. Thousands
were killed and millions more were injured due to the fighting. Many women volunteered and
signed up as nurses to help the injured men and try to save their lives. Their duty as nurses was
not to only help those that were sick or injured but keep the others healthy enough to fight.
Clarissa Barton was one of those women who signed up as a nurse during the Civil War. At first
she collected and distributed supplies and meals for the Union Army. She quickly got tired of just
taking care of supplies and meals so she went to the front lines to help the injured men. Clarissa was
on the frontlines to clean wounds, meet basic needs, and comfort the soldiers in death. Some battles

Flappers Essay
Flappers
War is often followed by change; World War I is no exception. World War I is often labeled the
cause for the rise of a feminine revolution the flapper . Before the term flapper began to describe
the young independently minded woman of the early Twenties (Mowry 173), the definition that is
most prominent today, it had a 300 year long history. The young woman of the 1920 s was new and
rebellious. In her appearance and demeanor, she broke the social constructs of her society.
When the war started, women had to take over the jobs of men and they learned to be independent.
These women exemplified the beginning of change. Coupled with enfranchisement and the

The car, a new invention, was another tool in their rebellion; it was fast and could be reckless.
Flappers used cars for three purposes: to drive, to ride and for petting . Petting was the sexual
activity practiced in the back seats of cars. People also had petting parties, which mortified the older
generation.
The carefree attitude of the younger generation was attributed to the psychological trauma caused
by the unprecedented casualty level of the war. This generation had the theory that each day might
be the last, therefore lived it to the fullest. This mental change was accompanied by a change in the
physical styles of women. Fashion trends that were held in high regard by tradition were
challenged to demonstrate the new risquГ© way of life.
The Gibson glamour girl preceding the flapper wore long tresses, a high neck starched shirt, and a
long skirt over restrictive undergarments. The flapper did not adhere to these types of restrictions.
Pantaloons and corsets, the Gibson girl s undergarments, were not conducive to the dancing of the
flapper or the need for physical freedom. They were replaced by underwear called step ins
(Rosenberg 2). The flapper fashion showed much more skin than the Gibson girl s outfit. She
wore a loose fitting dress that came just to the knees, with a dropped waistline and often showed
the arms. The look worn by the flapper was called the garconne meaning little boy. The hair was

Analysis Of Marriot International And Marketing Management
According to Davenport (2006), an analytics competitor has the capabilities of gaining insight
based on a consumer s consumption to better make business decisions while optimizing the
business processes. Many top organizations such as Amazon, Capital One and even the Boston
Red Sox have implemented programs that allow for their company to better determine the
products and prices of products that appeal to consumers. These programs also provide companies
with the power to determine how to market, based upon the consumer s fluctuating income and its
influence over the rising and falling of demand and supply chains. While this process of collecting
and processing data may be beneficial to the company, the data gathered should be collected in an
ethical manner. (Davenport, 2006, p.99 100) As noted earlier, there are many organizations who
have mastered the skill set of becoming an analytics competitor. Some companies have implemented
the approach taken by Marriot International. Marriot International has not only mastered the
revenue management, it has become one of the top analytics competitors because of its ability to
efficiently use its Total Hotel Optimization program. The program allows for Marriot International
to expand their quantitative expertise far beyond establishing room prices to allow for the program
to be used in areas such as catering and conference facilities. Marriot International has also made

Methods For Improving The Cellular Uptake Of Dna Origami...
Summary o The authors of this paper indicate an apparently novel method for improving the
cellular uptake of DNA origami based drug delivery nanocarriers. While the transport protein,
transferrin (Tf), has been used to functionalize other types of drug delivery nanocarriers, it had yet
to be incorporated into nanocarriers made via DNAorigami prior to this publication. The authors
demonstrate successful functionalization of Tf to a specific morphology of DNA origami using gel
shift analysis and atomic force microscopy; cellular uptake of the DNA nanocarriers was measured
using quantitative polymerase chain reaction(qPCR) and confocal laser scanning microscopy
(CLSM). The authors subsequently conclude a direct correlation between the... Show more content

The seemingly small number of citations is only potentially problematic when considering the
amount of research central to each term; it is difficult to believe that only a single source can
accurately depict the entirety of DNA based computation, pH sensors, molecular pegboards, or
protein encapsulation. Additional sources may help demonstrate the potential importance and
relevance of DNA based nanostructures. o That being said, the number of citations referenced
specifically when describing transferrin increases notably, which is important since transferrin is
central to the paper while the terms mentioned in the previous bullet point are less immediately
relevant. o Overall, the quality of citations appears to be sufficiently high, as does the quantity. This
holds true especially when motivating the use of DNA and transferrin as constituent parts of a
novel drug delivery platform.
Novelty The authors of this paper appear to demonstrate a novel functionalization for DNA origami
based drug delivery nanocarriers: transferrin. It is noted, however, that transferrin has been used as
a targeting ligand in other forms of nanocarriers. Perhaps this detail should be more clearly stated to
clarify that neither transferrin nor DNA origami are novel concepts, but rather their successful
combination

To be specific, the first exploration launched from Plymouth, England April 1584, a long while

of algebra and constructed telescopes (States). He and White went together and were in charge
with drawing and mapping the people and land they encountered. They also learned about the

painted pictures of that. Later, 1585, Raleigh decides to colonize where John white and Thomas

whole chromosome breakage during mitosis [17]. Therefore, the efficacy of 5 ALA/PDT to induce
DNA damage, and release chromatin during mitosis, was detected by MN test. When MCF 7 and
HepG2 cell lines were treated with 5 ALA/PDT at 633nm, the ratio of micronuclei was increased
significantly in comparison to non treated groups. Some research studies demonstrated that not all
sensitizers have the ability to induce DNA damage or even cause cytotoxicity when applied with
laser irradiation, such studies include the observations of Zenzen and Zankl [23] who
demonstrated that h ALA/PDT did not induce significant chromosome aberrations or micronuclei
neither in tumor cell line RPMI 2650 nor fibroblast cell line WS1, however, it caused cytotoxicity
to RPMI 2650 tumor cell line. Also, the results of Horinouchi and Arimoto Kobayashi [27] found
that 5 ALA/PDT did not induce photogenotoxicity in keratinocyte NCTC2544 cells as evaluated by
MN test, but PpIX disodium salt induced genotoxicity after exposing the cells to 5 ALA/PDT with
UV irradiation of 5J/cm2

What Is Proactive Interference
Introduction
By the age of seven, reading is an activity many children are well accustomed to. With the amount
of time most individuals have been reading, this task is relatively easy. Yet, there are still instances
in which we are reading a novel, a magazine, or even a simple text message, and we simply cannot
manage to remember what we read. This is event is due to interference. Interference theory states
that there are two forms of interference that can hinder our ability to properly encode information
into our memory (Bergstrom 1892), proactive interference and retroactive interference. When
reading, however, visual interference can play a large part in disrupting out learning process.
In the experiment commonly known for the development ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

A controlled process is a task which is new or unique to the person. It is serial, takes heavy
demands on attention, requires conscious efforts to direct attention towards the task and is slow.
Whereas an automatic process is a task which has already been learned. It can be parallel, makes
no demands on attention, does not need conscious direction of attention towards the task and is
fast. This implies that when we are presented with a word, the action of stating its color is a
relatively new task compared to the already learnt behavior to read just words. Therefore, reading is
seen as the automatic process which interferes with the slower controlled process of stating the
color. With the alteration of the original Stroop Effect experiment, the automaticity model is
discredited due to the fact that instead of stating the word the participant points at the observed
color instead. This nonverbal response, pointing at the color, is not believed to be an automatic
process, thus the automaticity model is questioned when researchers note an interference in the
speed of processing in incongruently colored

The Red Guard Group Analysis
What do Girl Scout troops and the Chinese Red Guard groups have in common? At first glance,
there may not be any clear similarities. Girl Scouts are known for selling cookies and helping the
elderly; the Red Guard consisted of Communist teenagers who want to do away with outdated
Chinese culture and traditions. However, if one disregards the surface levels details, there are
fundamental similarities between the two groups: both were popular youth organizations that had a
sense of influence in the community (by selling Samoas or writing dazibaos) and that offered a
sense of community and belonging for the teenagers involved. These two aspects are catnip to
teenagers; hey can make young girls strap on their sashes and Chinese youth fight the... Show more

They might say that the teenagers fundamentally agreed with the strategies and ideas of Mao and
all wanted to work together to make the dreams a reality. However, this argument is false due to
the fact that just because the youth were swept up in the Cultural Revolution, does not mean they
understood what was happening. In fact, it was very unlikely that they did. In Document D, Fan
Cao discusses her overwhelming ignorance of the matter at hand when she wrote, In fact, we [the
Red Guard] did not even understand what revolution was and how other people in the world really
lived... Cao s quote provides evidence that the vast majority of the Red Guard did not fully
comprehend the severity of the issue of the Cultural Revolution, leading them to offer support for a
cause they do not fully understand. The argument that the teenagers understood and fully agreed
with Mao s cause is extremely unrealistic, as in all likelihood, the youth were unaware of the actual
politics at

De Stijl Research Paper
There were many contributions made by the artists and designers working in the De Stijl and
the Constructivism movements. Two artists that greatly contributed to the De Stijl movement
were Picasso and Braque. Their paintings helped in defining a vocabulary of geometric forms ,
while still using the elements of the real world. Another very important contributor to the De
Stijl movement was Piet Mondrian. Mondrian also helped in defining the vocabulary of art and
design, even further than Picasso and Braque had previously done. He used only primary colors,
along with black and white, in his artwork. Mainly, all the artists of the De Stijl movement
wanted their artwork to simply rely on the fundamental characteristics of having a vertical and
horizontal grid. These artists hoped by using this grid, their artwork would open up space,
instead of enclosing space. Gerrit Rietveld showed these same defining characteristics of the De
Stijl art in his famous chair. His chair completely went against the traditional, or the expected,
elements of a normal chair. Both the arms and the base of the chair are insistently locked in a
vertical and horizontal grid. The seat and the back of the chair were used to help create a more
open space. Rietveld also only used... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most Constructivism artists focused on creating a dynamic space, uniting art and everyday life
through mass production and industry , showing non objective elements in useful ways and
showing the simplicity of works of art. One designer that greatly contributed to the Constructivism
movement was El Lissitzky. Her design for the poster Beat the Whites with the Red Wedge shows
simple images depicting the Reds and Whites while using propagandistic aims . Although fighting
is evident in both a literal and figurative way in her artwork, her design is also trying to depict
another aim one that shows almost sexual

The Traditional Family And Social Development Of The...
A snapshot of the classic yet desired white family of the 1950 s: a pale skinned man with a
pressed tie and shiny dress shoes, enjoys the pancakes and eggs his slender and sweet wife had
prepared for him before work. The gentle figure leans to kiss her children who hustle to catch the
school bus, a full lunch box in each hand and new toys for show and tell. However, this depiction
of the traditional american familyhas been greatly modified. In her family history course, Stephanie
Coontz asked her students to illustrate their own concept of a traditional or perfect family.
Unsurprisingly, the predominating result was the stereotypical nuclear family, consisting of only
father, mother, and children. This had once been culturally correct, but beginning in the mid 1900 s,
the ideal American family has changed immensely with social development. Although the
traditional family still exists in several households across the nation, the majority of families are far
from the initial standards.
A monumental change to the traditional American family came in 2015 when same sex marriage
was legalized. This momentous step to ensure the acceptance and rights of ranging sexualities had
not only enhanced the quality of life for same sex couples, but also transformed the iconic
household. Now that gays all across the nation were granted their right to marry, it was no longer
necessarily husband and wife but the classic couple could be wife and wife or husband and
husband . This

The Mayans And Traditional Culture
The Mayans try to preserve their traditional culture. Traditional culture is ways of life and
customs handed down from ancestors. Mayan homes are one room, and made out of brick or
mud called adobe. They are simple, with packed Earth floors and little furniture. The family
might have a table and chairs, and hammocks for sleeping. There is a cook fire in the middle of
the home, with clay pots around it. The most important thing in the traditional Mayan home is a
family altar, for religious worship. One traditional custom of their culture is to ask the Earth for
permission to build a home. The Mayans are also adapting to modern life. Adaptation is the
change in a way of life so you can suit new conditions. The modern Mayan homes in larger town
might have running water and electricity. Some homes might even have televisions or radios,
and cooking utensils are becoming more common. Homes also may have blenders, gas stoves,
and other appliances. The roles of traditional roles of men and women are very different. The
men work in the fields, and they sometimes thy hunt. They plant, weed, and harvest all of the
crops. The women work at home. They cook, take care of the children, and weave clothes for the
family. They make beans and tortillas, and the some tortillas are made the old way. They pat the
corn dough out by hand, and fry it on a griddle. Although, some women make tortillas with a
tortilla press made of metal. The roles of men and women are part of their traditional

Demographic And Socio Economic Changes
Demographic and socio economic changes effect cities, its economy and ultimately the country as
a whole. Changes in demographics tells us if an area is losing or gaining population and may act
accordingly to help it survive. Family patterns change over a period of time as more women go out
for jobs rather than stay at home. As medical field advances, the life span of human increases and
these changes can show that the median age of the populationis growing. Setting up of new
industries or business houses in a city might bring in the working population and help in improving
the economic condition of the area.
This report presents some of the demographic and socio economic data collected from American
Community Survey 1 Year Estimates for the years 2006, 2009 and 2012 w.r.t. 203 Metropolitan
Statistical Areas (MSA) in United States of America. These MSA have been selected as the most
populated MSA in USA for the year 2012.
The most populous MSA in USA included a few MSA from Puerto Rico and Alaska and was
removed to focus only on Mainland USA. It was also observed that most of the MSA when
plotted on the map of USA are in East USA (155 MSA). Montana and Wyoming did not have any
MSA among these 203 MSA. For the purpose of this report, Microsoft Excel and Tableau where
used to store, clean and plot the data. Summary Tables for the parameters which were selected to
compare these MSA are presented in Table 1.

Taking a Look at Queen Elizabeth I
She is the last Tudor monarch, and the only virgin queen in her bloodline. Elizabeth I of England
was born on September 7, 1533 at Greenwich palace to Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII. After her
sister, Mary I, died on November 17, 1558, Elizabeth came back from her arrest to claim the
throne. She is known for being a cunning and shrewd survivalist. Since birth, her life has been
about surviving all the odds against her. As she fights her way to the top, the economy, the
country s culture, science and technology, government, and communication will change all
around her. Because of her family, Elizabeth was left with a crumbling economy. As each family
member ruled, the collapsing economy would worsen, and it was up to Elizabeth to rebuild
what her family destroyed. Henry VIII had changed the coinage so that the face value was less,
and Mary I lost thousands of dollars to a war that England was not involved in yet. To undo what
her family did, she not only taxed the common people, but she taxed those with more riches as
well. As she spoke with her financial advisor, Thomas Gresham, he had advised to change the
coinage. From there, the queen melted down all coins with no real value, and had a coinage that
was newly minted with precious metals. In addition, she changed the face of the coin from her
sister to her. As they maintained the coinage s new value, the economy slowly became stable. Not
only did she have economic reforms, but she also has religious reforms. When she

The Effects Of Environmental Regulations On The...
The only thing stopping the human population from an event of mass extinction is the federal,
state, and other international governments. Climate change is a current, and very real threat, in
fact, it is even considered a national security threat to Pentagon officials. Global temperatures, sea
levels, and CO2 levels are all rising at an exponential rate. If action isn t taken by such levels of
government, planet earth is destined for doom. The question, however, is if the government should
be responsible for regulating the environment, and then that sparks the question of which level of
government should regulate the environment. Although I agree that the federal government has the
upperhand in influencing states to enact laws upon specific environmental policies, and while
power not granted to the government belongs to the state and people, I still insist that
environmental regulations should be set in the hands of both state and federal government in order
to assure adequate environmental protection over localized areas upon which the U.S. government
has limited jurisdiction. Climate changed is caused by the warming of global temperatures due to a
phenomenon known as the greenhouse effect, which is the entrapment of CO2 and other various
byproducts of human intervention such as methane gas, released from cows as they consume grass.
These chemicals create, in a sense, a blanket around earth, trapping solar energy. And in response,
heating up the planet, allowing no, or

Issue #3
Project Management Training
Nick seems very excited about the project that Warren is proposing and the fact that he is being
entrusted with this new venture. However, he is clearly unqualified and overwhelmed. Warren
says all of the complex things that Nick is in charge of, but he says you have plenty of time for
planning. There are a couple of issues here. First that Warren hasn t been very specific with the
details regarding the scope, budget, and timing. The other issue is that Nick doesn t have any
experience managing a project like this and this is important to CanGo s success.
Resolution
Nick needs to tell Warren that he needs more specific information on scope, timing, and budget
for the project. He also needs some Project Management training to create a Microsoft Project
WBS to outline all of the tasks and assign resources to determine if the project is feasible and in
the best interest of the organization. Creating the WBS and Gantt chart will also help determine if
they have the necessary resources in house to do the work or if it is better to outsource some of
the project to offset some of the risks. Right now, Nick doesn t have any visibility into everything
that needs to be accomplished to complete the project without a plan, nor can he anticipate any
risks that would prohibit them from successfully completing the project. By creating a project plan
Nick can identify all tasks, dependencies, costs, and

Occipital Lobe Case Study
1. The occipital lobe is responsible for allowing visual stimulus to be understood by the mammals
experiencing it. It can be argued that by lesioning the occipital lobe within the pigeon, she is
impairing the lobe and therefore, the pigeon would be unable to determine a moving stimulus. In
turn, one could say that the occipital lobe does play a role in motion detection, as motion detection
is visually observed. However, this experiment doesn t necessarily draw one solid conclusion for
whether or not the occipital lobe is responsible for motion detection. There are many pathways
within the brain that are interconnected and complex. It seems too black and white to conclude that
the occipital lobe is the main region of the brain responsible... Show more content on

One method that could be used to expand on her research could be to try the stereotaxic apparatus.
A lesion within the occipital lobe could be created with this method on several different types of
mammals. This would be highly important to test. The experiment had only been tested on a
pigeon. The brain of the pigeon has a different structure than the brain of other mammals. In order
to make a fair conclusion, more mammals with different brain structures should be considered. This
method would also allow for more testing control within the specific brain region, leading me to
believe that the results would be more accurate due to the mapping of the stereotaxic atlas. Another
testing method to consider could be the use of a scanning electron microscope. This microscope
would create a highly detailed three dimensional image of the brain. Allowing for the investigator to
perceive more accurate result depictions through the changing results of the images within different
mammal brain structures. First, the investigator could take an image of the brain with the
microscope before the lesion was created, and then proceed to take a picture after the lesion was
created. The occipital lobe could be examined more in depth through fine

Shopping Is A Popular Pastime For Americans
Shopping is a popular pastime for Americans; it is a way to relieve stress, bond with friends, and
keep up with new trends. Shopping can be a method of therapy for those who need to lift their
spirits; however, with low self control it can become an impulse shopping addiction Impulse
shopping is the act of purchasing goods without prior planning as a result of sudden desire. It can
be an addictionbecause hedonic products bought impulsively induce an exciting rush, which turns
into a cycle to recreate the pleasure. Of course, not all people become impulse shoppers, there are
different types of shoppers, with varying emotions, psychological conditions and genders. What all
shoppers have in common is that they are all targeted by consumer culture, businesses want them to
buy their products and they know how to do it. Businesses constantly expose people to advertising
in every form such as TV, Internet, magazines, and in public communities. Marketing strategies are
developed, achieved through studies on shoppers, to entice customers to impulse shop. New
technology such as TV and Internet shopping makes impulse shopping accessible right at our
fingertips. It s easy to impulse shop due to the constant reminder of shopping and how it can
improve our mood. Customers that are emotional stressed are likely to impulse shop due to lack of
self restraint. Businesses know that people want instant gratification and take advantage of
customer s emotional state. Ultimately, because

They must meet many similar codes and regulations that restaurants do because of food safely laws( How to Start a Retail Food Business ) . They must also be knowledgeable able of all of the local sanitation regulations. A lack of regulations though is linked with a growth in the industry (Odendahl 2012). Vending laws also play a big part, when and where can your truck operate? Your location influence this a lot. Liz Leslie (2013) used Indianapolis as an example on how regulations influence the food truck business; Two years ago, a city ordinance threatened the burgeoning food truck scene by prohibiting vendors from selling food between 10:00pm and ... Economic Food trucks are a step up from fast food and a notch below sit down restaurants. They can give what many normal restaurants can t, affordability. They give what fast food cant t, healthy food. Food trucks have turned out to be incredibly resilient to our suffering economy (Gaur 2013). Statistics and numbers only confirm what we see on the streets, food trucks have come and will be staying; and making a huge profit. IBISworlds Market research report shows just this in their SWOT analysis The Street Vendors industry is in a growth phase of its life cycle. Over the 10 years to 2017, industry value added (IVA), which measures an industry s contribution to GDP, will grow at an average annual rate of 3.5%. By comparison, GDP is anticipated to grow at an annualized 2.1% over the same period. If you read the entire report you can also find that in contradiction to what you might think with the 30,810 street vendor businesses in operation no one has any dominant share (Gaur 2013). • 4. The Unredeemed Captive by John Demos Essay The Unredeemed Captive by John Demos John Demos in a sense presents themes that are entirely familiar and conventional. The themes of sin, retribution, and repentance are very prevalent in his writing. The loss of piety, the failure of spiritual nerve, the absolute necessity of reform; and the certainty of God s punishment if reform was not achieved appear throughout his book (Demos). (In this instance, Eunice s failure to return to her native land is putting her at risk in the eyes of God). For approximately 60 years John Williams who had been a captive for almost two years, and is one of the main characters of the story writes different letters, sermons, in an effort to reach the captive daughter. According to John Williams, God ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The order of these writings is important as are the time and the setting in which each one was composed. These writings reveal much of what captivity meant to him. In addition, Demos incorporates parallels from the Bible such as biblical passages to illustrate or compare the return of Naomi to Bethlehem in Stephen Williams sermon to put pressure on his sister Euncie to return to Deefield (Demos 191). Noemi, in effect was redeemed by returning to her home (Demos 192). The circumstances of captivity were as varied as the number of people involved on both sides. Prisoner redemption was the process of prisoner exchange that had long been unfair. Captives were subject to ransom, trade for other key people, and sometimes prisoners decided to remain in captivity since escape was very dangerous. Acculturation which included adoption and repatriation were choices for some of them as well. For example, Eunice s inability to speak English and her personal appearance announce her loyalty to other standards (Demos 146). She had been fully integrated or Indianized (Demos 142). Eunice comes of age in her adoptive community, secure, and increasingly well integrated. The trauma of capture including as it did the deaths of her mother and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Presidential Election Advantages I believe that the US Presidential election should deserve all the media attention it is receiving because the USA is one of the strongest world economies and will have a massive influence on other country s economies. The US politics are known to be very complex. Even though we re inundated with the media coverage of this election, it can still be difficult to figure out what exactly is happening. In 2014 it was stated that more and more americans are using cell phones to follow political news with 28 percent of registered voters. • 6. The “Roaring 20’S” And The “Jazz Age” Produced Great... The roaring 20 s and the Jazz Age produced great literature. The characters and plots were often held together by images, ideas, sounds or words that help a reader understand an idea and help to explain the central idea of a literary work. F. Scott Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby is full of rich symbols. Like many of the most interesting symbols, the green light changes and develops its meaning through the novel. The green light that is displayed at the end of Daisy and Tom s East egg dock, is the symbol of Gatsby s hopes and dreams. In Chapter 1, Nick observes Gatsby one night: Something in his leisurely movements and the secure position of his feet upon the lawn suggested that it was Mr. Gatsby himself, come out to determine what share... It had seemed as close as a star to the moon. Now it was again a green light on a dock. His count of enchanted objects had diminished by one (93). The symbol changes for Gatsby because the present Daisy is different than the Daisy from the past that he fell in love with in Louisville. In addition to this strong literary symbol, another great one is Dr. TJ Eckleburg and the Valley of Ashes. The eyes of Doctor T. J. Eckleburg are: blue and gigantic their retinas are one yard high. They look out of no face, but, instead, from a pair of enormous yellow spectacles which pass over a nonexistent nose. Evidently, some wild wag of an oculist set them there to fatten his practice in the borough of Queens, and then sank down himself into eternal blindness, or forgot them and moved away. But his eyes dimmed a little by many paintless days under sun and rain, brood on over the solemn dumping ground (24). Some readers may pick up that the billboard represents God s eyes looking down on the society judging America s morals.Instead, throughout the novel, Fitzgerald suggests that the mere essence of Dr. TJ Eckleburg symbolizes deprivation of the American soul. The billboard is placed there to encourage business; however, it lays untidy and abandoned. Also with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Essay On Anselm s Ontological Argument Ontological Argument Anselm s ontological argument states that: We define God as the greatest of all conceived beings. In Anselm s argument, necessary existence means that the existence of something is not dependent on any other being. For God to have necessary existence, then his existence is not dependent on anything. In nature, almost every living being is dependent on something such as a parent. Thus, making God the only being to have necessary existence. However, there are many reasons that the ontological argument can be deemed invalid. It equivocates between different frames of reference. Nothing greater that can be thought is not the same as nothing greater than can exist. This argument only really shows that the greatest thing to exist in reality will always be greater than its imaginary counterpart, which is not true as anything that exists in reality is more susceptible to flaws, but a ... • 17. How Does Plath Use Of Personification Plath uses the simple tree and flower as manifestations of desire. Personification is heavily used to transform the tree and the flower from plants to people the narrator wants to become, and they are also used to emphasize the traits the narrator desires. The tree is fruit bearing, stable, and peaceful. The narrator is upset that she lacks the trees ability to bear fruit, and the fruit represents achievement, and the lack of fruit represents the narrator s discomfort at lacking achievement. Plath writes, Sucking up minerals and motherly love / So that each March I may gleam into leaf, (l.3; l.4) not only showing the emphasis personification creates, but the usage of the word I shows how the narrator is constantly wishing to be the tree... Periods are used to end thoughts, while commas at the end are used to indicate slight change in the thought. Using periods as dividers, the poem is divided into seven sections, all different but reinforce the ideas of insecurity, desire, isolation, and neglect. The first section, which is only line one, explains the narrator s rejection of herself, which easily transitions to sections two and three. These two sections describe what she wants to be, first with the narrator becoming them, and then her comparing herself to them. Sections two and three explain the effect others have on insecurity because they represent the idealized version of her. Section four details her isolation, neglect, and invisibility to them. The setting of night, which represents darkness, offers a half baked explanation to the narrator s invisibility, however, the fact there is starlight shows that the trees and flowers are purposefully ignoring her. With this invisibility, her feelings snowball into neglect and isolation. Section five is similar to sections two and three; it is a repeat of her comparison to the trees and flowers. Section six is a reinforcement of her insecurities, and her out of placeness. Section seven is a detailed continuation of six, but the ending of section seven represents her insecurities and her neglect. Word pairings such as useful... finally (l.19) and touch me for one...have time for me (l.20) clearly demonstrate her hope that if she changes, she will be accepted by them. Plath s usage of end punctuation creates an easy flowing cycle of insecurity; the insecurity is made known, the justification behind it is shown; it is then reiterated; and the narrator finally finds peace in the fantasy of being like the trees and the flowers. Human Nature Establishes Political Authority Now that we have an understanding of the three different accounts of the state of nature, it is important to understand the differing accounts of how human nature establishes political authority. Hobbes believes that because the state of nature is a constant state of war, the role of government must be to protect the people to protect people from themselves. Therefore, the purpose of political authority is to enforce law and order, and that the purpose of government is to control and be authoritative and should not be responsible for representing the people. Hobbes believes that you must give up your natural rights for peace. In the social contractman give up their rights to the state, but the social contract can only be signed among those who are equal as it is a contract established by the enforcer. Locke has a differing view that the establishment of political authority is to ensure that men have their property rights protected. Locke believes that the greatest purpose that men have for society is to be able to use their property, and to do safe while doing so. Therefore, Locke believes that the most important positive law that society should establish is the right to legislative power. • 27. Cultural Identity Among Sudanese Youth Who are we? A study on cultural identity among Sudanese youth. Background Who am I or who are we? are both questions that require in depth knowledge of identity. A complex sociological and psychological phenomenon, identity has been classified into many types. Self identity is defined as an individual s awareness and expression of their distinctive characteristics. Weinreich (1986) highlighted that it is influenced by both the individual s past experiences and future aspirations and contributes to the formation of one s self esteem, and individuality. It also indicates the individual s capacity for self reflection (Leary Tangney 2003). Cultural identity is the shared identity by all members of a social group and describes the expression of that group s affiliations (Weinreich Saunderson 2003). It helps them gain a sence of belonging and creates strong bonds of association. This sence of cultural identity can be through similarities in nationality, locality, ethnicity, social class, religion, generation or any form of distinct social group characteristics. However, there may be differences between members with these shared cultures. Ancestry, skin tone, spoken language, and political attitudes can all distinguish between individuals within social groups (Holliday, 2010). This can lead to discrimination, tribalism and racism as society members evaluate those who are in the group from those who are out of the group (Cote Levine 2002). Sudan has a population ... The carefree attitude of the younger generation was attributed to the psychological trauma caused by the unprecedented casualty level of the war. • 31. Analysis Of Marriot International And Marketing Management According to Davenport (2006), an analytics competitor has the capabilities of gaining insight based on a consumer s consumption to better make business decisions while optimizing the business processes. Many top organizations such as Amazon, Capital One and even the Boston Red Sox have implemented programs that allow for their company to better determine the products and prices of products that appeal to consumers. These programs also provide companies with the power to determine how to market, based upon the consumer s fluctuating income and its influence over the rising and falling of demand and supply chains. While this process of collecting and processing data may be beneficial to the company, the data gathered should be collected in an ethical manner. Novelty The authors of this paper appear to demonstrate a novel functionalization for DNA origami based drug delivery nanocarriers: transferrin. It is noted, however, that transferrin has been used as a targeting ligand in other forms of nanocarriers. Perhaps this detail should be more clearly stated to clarify that neither transferrin nor DNA origami are novel concepts, but rather their successful combination ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He was an astronomer, mathematician, and a master of navigation. He even founded the school of algebra and constructed telescopes (States). He and White went together and were in charge with drawing and mapping the people and land they encountered. They also learned about the Algonquian language and culture from the wanchese and Manteo. As you may guess, John painted pictures of that. Later, 1585, Raleigh decides to colonize where John white and Thomas Harriot explored earlier in 1584. Raleigh s first attempt at colonizing Roanoke was terrible. They had found no quick sources of wealth and had made enemies of the Indians there. He made another attempt; though, replacing the sometimes hot headed military men with craftsmen, laborers, farmers and their families). The colony decided that they would pay their own way in exchange for the foreign land and they would work to make the colony self sustaining. Walter decided that they would colonize near the Chesapeake Bay where John and Thomas explored in the previous years (1585). It is full of battles, war tactics, good, evil, motive, song, and drama. A battle story needs a gripping introduction, one that hints at the battles to come and one that brings the reader in with an exciting anticipation. This story first begins with a poem of the brave Rikki Tikki angrily chasing death with a lust to kill. When MCF 7 and HepG2 cell lines treated with 5 ALA (0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2mM) alone for 4h then incubated for 24h, 5 ALA did not induce cytotoxic effects on both cell lines. Therefore, the efficacy of 5 ALA/PDT to induce DNA damage, and release chromatin during mitosis, was detected by MN test. When MCF 7 and HepG2 cell lines were treated with 5 ALA/PDT at 633nm, the ratio of micronuclei was increased significantly in comparison to non treated groups. Some research studies demonstrated that not all sensitizers have the ability to induce DNA damage or even cause cytotoxicity when applied with laser irradiation, such studies include the observations of Zenzen and Zankl [23] who demonstrated that h ALA/PDT did not induce significant chromosome aberrations or micronuclei neither in tumor cell line RPMI 2650 nor fibroblast cell line WS1, however, it caused cytotoxicity to RPMI 2650 tumor cell line. • 39. What Is Proactive Interference Introduction By the age of seven, reading is an activity many children are well accustomed to. With the amount of time most individuals have been reading, this task is relatively easy. Yet, there are still instances in which we are reading a novel, a magazine, or even a simple text message, and we simply cannot manage to remember what we read. This is event is due to interference. Interference theory states that there are two forms of interference that can hinder our ability to properly encode information into our memory (Bergstrom 1892), proactive interference and retroactive interference. When reading, however, visual interference can play a large part in disrupting out learning process. In the experiment commonly known for the development ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A controlled process is a task which is new or unique to the person. It is serial, takes heavy demands on attention, requires conscious efforts to direct attention towards the task and is slow. Whereas an automatic process is a task which has already been learned. It can be parallel, makes no demands on attention, does not need conscious direction of attention towards the task and is fast. This implies that when we are presented with a word, the action of stating its color is a relatively new task compared to the already learnt behavior to read just words. Therefore, reading is seen as the automatic process which interferes with the slower controlled process of stating the color. With the alteration of the original Stroop Effect experiment, the automaticity model is discredited due to the fact that instead of stating the word the participant points at the observed color instead. This nonverbal response, pointing at the color, is not believed to be an automatic process, thus the automaticity model is questioned when researchers note an interference in the speed of processing in incongruently colored ... • 41. De Stijl Research Paper There were many contributions made by the artists and designers working in the De Stijl and the Constructivism movements. Two artists that greatly contributed to the De Stijl movement were Picasso and Braque. Their paintings helped in defining a vocabulary of geometric forms , while still using the elements of the real world. Another very important contributor to the De Stijl movement was Piet Mondrian. Mondrian also helped in defining the vocabulary of art and design, even further than Picasso and Braque had previously done. He used only primary colors, along with black and white, in his artwork. Mainly, all the artists of the De Stijl movement wanted their artwork to simply rely on the fundamental characteristics of having a vertical and horizontal grid. These artists hoped by using this grid, their artwork would open up space, instead of enclosing space. Gerrit Rietveld showed these same defining characteristics of the De Stijl art in his famous chair. His chair completely went against the traditional, or the expected, elements of a normal chair. Both the arms and the base of the chair are insistently locked in a vertical and horizontal grid. The seat and the back of the chair were used to help create a more open space. A snapshot of the classic yet desired white family of the 1950 s: a pale skinned man with a pressed tie and shiny dress shoes, enjoys the pancakes and eggs his slender and sweet wife had prepared for him before work. The gentle figure leans to kiss her children who hustle to catch the school bus, a full lunch box in each hand and new toys for show and tell. However, this depiction of the traditional american familyhas been greatly modified. In her family history course, Stephanie Coontz asked her students to illustrate their own concept of a traditional or perfect family. Unsurprisingly, the predominating result was the stereotypical nuclear family, consisting of only father, mother, and children. This had once been culturally correct, but beginning in the mid 1900 s, the ideal American family has changed immensely with social development. Although the traditional family still exists in several households across the nation, the majority of families are far from the initial standards. A monumental change to the traditional American family came in 2015 when same sex marriage was legalized. This momentous step to ensure the acceptance and rights of ranging sexualities had not only enhanced the quality of life for same sex couples, but also transformed the iconic household. Elizabeth I of England was born on September 7, 1533 at Greenwich palace to Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII. After her sister, Mary I, died on November 17, 1558, Elizabeth came back from her arrest to claim the throne. She is known for being a cunning and shrewd survivalist. Since birth, her life has been about surviving all the odds against her. As she fights her way to the top, the economy, the country s culture, science and technology, government, and communication will change all around her. Because of her family, Elizabeth was left with a crumbling economy. As each family member ruled, the collapsing economy would worsen, and it was up to Elizabeth to rebuild what her family destroyed. Henry VIII had changed the coinage so that the face value was less, and Mary I lost thousands of dollars to a war that England was not involved in yet. To undo what her family did, she not only taxed the common people, but she taxed those with more riches as well. As she spoke with her financial advisor, Thomas Gresham, he had advised to change the coinage. From there, the queen melted down all coins with no real value, and had a coinage that was newly minted with precious metals. In addition, she changed the face of the coin from her sister to her. As they maintained the coinage s new value, the economy slowly became stable. Not only did she have economic reforms, but she also has religious reforms. When she ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. The Effects Of Environmental Regulations On The... The only thing stopping the human population from an event of mass extinction is the federal, state, and other international governments. Climate change is a current, and very real threat, in fact, it is even considered a national security threat to Pentagon officials. Global temperatures, sea levels, and CO2 levels are all rising at an exponential rate. If action isn t taken by such levels of government, planet earth is destined for doom. The question, however, is if the government should be responsible for regulating the environment, and then that sparks the question of which level of government should regulate the environment. Although I agree that the federal government has the upperhand in influencing states to enact laws upon specific environmental policies, and while power not granted to the government belongs to the state and people, I still insist that environmental regulations should be set in the hands of both state and federal government in order to assure adequate environmental protection over localized areas upon which the U.S. government has limited jurisdiction. Climate changed is caused by the warming of global temperatures due to a phenomenon known as the greenhouse effect, which is the entrapment of CO2 and other various byproducts of human intervention such as methane gas, released from cows as they consume grass. These chemicals create, in a sense, a blanket around earth, trapping solar energy. And in response, heating up the planet, allowing no, or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In turn, one could say that the occipital lobe does play a role in motion detection, as motion detection is visually observed.
