Rudy And Rudy In The Film The Rainmaker
Rudy Baylor, the star of the film The Rainmaker, gets a dose of reality as he enters the legal
profession right after law school. Rudy is a young, unemployed lawyer desperate for a job. Without
any connections to prestigious law firms, he is forced to accept his first offer from J. Lyman Bruiser
Stone, fraudulent and just all around shady personal injury attorney. Rudy soon meets Deck Shiffler, a
self proclaimed a paralawyer , with some certainly unethical tactics. Rudy begins to accompany Deck
on his ambulance chasing endeavors and the ethical slippery slope begins. The Verdict is a film
centered on the prosecution medical malpractice case of a young woman. Frank Galvin, the prosecutor
of the case, spends his days wasting away at the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As mentioned in the film, Cliff would not stop the beatings until Kelly was dead. In that sense, Rudy
was completely justified in his actions. For Kelly, the woman he loved, he had no choice but to defend
her. I feel that anyone watching the film, myself included, understands the lengths people take to
protect their loved ones. Even though self defense is not a morally or ethically wrong, Rudy still fails
to disclose to the police that he had been at Kelly s on the night of Cliff and his role in the death. I feel
that his failure to come forth with the truth is dishonest on his part. Despite his hesitance to own up to
his actions, Rudy exemplifies his love for Kelly by risking everything to come to her

The Midwife’s Role in Informing Pregnant Women of the...
How the provision of information in the antenatal period can positively affect health and life style
choices in the pregnant woman and her family.
It is a recognised certainty that nutrition is a fundamental requirement to sustain a healthy lifestyle and
is also extremely valuable when recovering from an illness or an injury. Nutrients are absorbed in the
body and this physiological process is essential for homeostasis and ensuring equilibrium is sustained
within the body as without enough food and drink the body will not function correctly (Edwards
Thomas, 2009). This essay will provide information on folic acid and its properties, its role and the
midwife s role and responsibility in informing women in the early stages of pregnancy ... Show more

In pregnancy the body needs to produce cells to help with the development and nourishment of the
growing fetus; it also helps to make red blood cells . During pregnancy, risks can be associated with
toxaemia, premature birth and haemorrhaging if there is no folic acid in the diet (Youngson, 2005).
Folic acid contributes to several major biological processes and these include the combination of
RNA, DNA and proteins. It is needed to help with the repair and replication of DNA and the
maintenance of the genome and it is also involved in the regulation of gene expression (Hendler
Rorvik, 2008).
Folate is a natural occurrence in foods such as beans and pulses (e.g. lentils and chickpeas), leafy
green vegetables, broccoli, spinach, tuna and oranges (Tiran, 2000). Some foods are also fortified with
folic acid such as cereals and bread. Late in the 1990 s United State scientists came to the realisation
that despite the availability of folic acid in supplements as well as foods available in the supermarkets,
people were still finding it a challenge to meet their daily folate requirement; with this in mind the
United States of America implemented the folate fortification program (Latimes.com). For women of
childbearing age, folic acid consumption needed to be increased so in January of 1998 the United
States food and drug administration authorised a folic acid fortification of all products containing
grain. The

Attending The School Year
It is my belief that we shouldn t extend the school year. I think this because there are programs to help
students remember curriculum, kids need time to play outside, and that frequent brakes might disturb
the learning process. As McDonad states, Children forget a great deal when they are away from the
classroom . I agree with that but what she does not acknowledge is that with modern technology there
are programs such as, TTM, IXL, and Mobymax, that are made to help students learn in school as well
as over summer break. Teachers usually assign or expect you to to use one or another of these
programs to keep you caught up. Another reason that I believe that students should get summer break
is, that kids need a break to play outside

Inaccuracies In Agora
Agora
There may have been some controversies about Hypatia s spiritual beliefs, however, her devotion,
knowledge, and perseverance can be admired by all. This movie depicted some accurate historical
facts and events surrounding the life of Hypatia in Alexandria. However, there were some inaccuracies
of events that were discovered. For example, The Great Library of Alexandria did not exist in during
this time period. During the center portion of the movie, there was a dramatized scene where the
Christians were attacking the Agora while the Pagans were in the library attempting to save the
important books. This was not a factual depiction of this event. The Great Library was actually built in
288 B.C. and destroyed in 48 B.C. The movie s setting is based around the 4th century A.D. which is a
clear indication that the library was no longer in existence.* Another example of the film s inaccuracy
is the account and event of Hypatia s death. In the film, her death was the result of her knowledge and
her ability to reason which labeled her as a witch. In addition, her death did not have anything to do
with her religious beliefs or the fact that she was a woman. Hypatia s death was due to politics. In the
film, a follower of Cyril threw a stone at Orestes, the man was arrested, tortured and later killed. In
revenge, the Christians became outraged and agreed to kill the person who Orestes loved most which
was Hypatia ( ). Therefore, the film s depiction of Hypatia being killed

Medea as Woman, Hero and God in Euripides Play Essay
Medea as Woman, Hero and God
In Euripides play the title role and focus of the play is the foreign witch Medea. Treated differently
through the play by different people and at different times, she adapts and changes her character,
finally triumphing over her hated husband Jason. She can feasibly be seen as a mortal woman,
Aristotle s tragic hero figure and even as an exulted goddess.
Medea s identity as a weak woman is emphasised at the very start of the play. It is made very clear
that she has come to misfortune through no fault of her own and is powerless in her problem ( her
world has turned to enmity ). Being unable to change her situation is an example of her portrayal as a
weak woman figure. We are told that she has been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, once again though, we see this sharpness behind her veil of weakness ( no bloodier spirit ).
With this said though, it is not a murderous, maniacal rage. She makes clear reference to the fact that
she is part of the group of wretched women and that she is simply striking back as a woman scorned .
When Creon comes on the stage, she continues with the pitiable appearance, begging ( I kneel to you,
I beseech you ). She tries to persuade Creon that he has no threat from her, using the fact that she is a
woman to make him disregard her power ( I m in no position a woman to wrong a king ). However,
after this scene is where the image of Medea as a feeble woman ends. The Chorus indicate their pity
and that Medea s plight touches our hearts . But at this point, Medea becomes the murderous and
dangerous woman that will kill her children and cackle with glee at the thought of Glauce s death. She
declares that she manipulated Creon, fawning on him to gain my purpose . She still holds our pity but
not in the same intensity (until eventually she finally loses pity almost completely in her double
infanticide).
As a mother, Medea on the surface is not the best, as she eventually kills her children, ignoring their
pleas for mercy ( Mother, don t kill us ). However, we must not ignore the heartache and pain that
Medea endures in killing them. It takes incredible conviction to carry it out ( parted from you, my life
will be all pain and

Dance Team Philosophies
Since I have been in this class I have gotten the opportunity to hear about many different directing
styles and team philosophies. This semester I got a chance to listen to Abby Payne, Tracey Anderson,
and Kellie Jackson Jandt. From listening to their experiences and drawing back on my own
experiences I have learned a lot about how I would want to lead my team. Abby Payne at Lake Travis
High School claims her team is all about the show. They do football, contest, and spring show but
spring show is the team s favorite. One thing that seemed unique about her team is that they devote an
entire group or the Elite team to preparing the dancers who want to dance collegiately. This is a great
idea when you are in an area like Lake Travis because those dancers work hard in both academics and
dance so they are more likely to attend prestigious schools that have excellent dance teams. It is a
wonderful that Abby is taking steps to set them up for success in their future. Another thing that is
interesting to me is that Abby encourages them to be in other organizations and to involve themselves
in other things besides dance team so they can build their resumes. From my experience a lot of
directors prefer their dancers keep the dance team as the number one priority and to not make too
many other time commitments that take away from their devotion to the team. It s very generous of
Abby to allow the kids to take these opportunities to further prepare them for their future. The thing

Two Major Types Of Inorganic Growth
DAVIS SERVICE GROUP
1. Describe two major ways in which a company can grow. Give examples to illustrate the two ways
of growing.
Two major ways in which a company can grow are:
A. Inorganic Growth
Inorganic growth comes from a merge or acquisition. Is when the business and sales of a company
increases due to acquiring another business, and not due to their regular business activities.
Companies that decide to take this road usually have access to new markets due to the merge or
acquisition.
Advantages of Inorganic Growth:
Expands assets
Expands income
Expands market
Stronger line of credit because of the new combine value of the business
Disadvantages of Inorganic Growth:
Expand your management capabilities
More employees and assets to monitor
Growth in a direction you did not anticipate
Grow too fast
If calculations of increased income are inaccurate, may incur in debt
Example:
Microsoft is probably the best example of Inorganic Growth. This company has successfully
completed more than 100 acquisitions since 1986.
Google is another great example; they have completed over 150 acquisitions since 2001.
B. Organic Growth
Organic growth is when a company growth rate is achieved by increasing output and enhancing sales
internally, customer expansion or a new product development. In other words, expansion from within
the business.
Advantages of Organic Growth:
Strong management
Know your business inside out
Move quickly and take advantage of market change

I Am African Born And Raised
I would love to think that your family background and where come from should not predict how you
communicate in life, but who you grew up with, who are your family and where you grew up
definitely has a lot of influence of how you are going to communicate later in life
There is no doubt that Africans and Middle Eastern people are one of the loudest human beings in the
world. They can make a casual conversation look like the beginning of world War Three. I am African
born and raised. I was brought into a big family with Lebanese, Egyptian, German, Chadian and
Sudanese heritage.
When I first moved to America, on our second day in San Antonio my parents went to HEB to gets
some groceries for the apartment. They were talking about what to get and they saw a passion fruit
something we don t have back home. One of the associate won t stop staring at my parent, because
how loud they were, you can literally hear them from accross the store and the HEB on I 10 is pretty
big. In my family, we talk with our hand all over the place so it looked like my dad was about to put
his hand on my mom, which he would never do. but when people started gathering around us and the
cop saw what he was doing, they came towards my dad and arrested my dad. My Father was so
confused on what was going, couldn t understand why they put him in cuffs. We had to call our
caseworker to explain that he is not at all abusive and he is no threat to my family or mother and this

How Can Photoshop Use The Brush Engine Help Its Fullest...
Each version of Photoshop since P7 has offered a brush engine, allowing you greater control over your
painted effects. It was heralded as a breakthrough when it was created, and since then it s only become
better with age in each successive update. To learn how to use the brush engine to its fullest capacity,
let s look at how a custom brush can make something as simple as a coin come to life before your eyes
(and not in that creepy, muppet sort of way.) (Disclaimer: I ve had people ask me complex questions
about getting into the professional photography business. While I have friends in the profession and
know that Photoshop is a necessary tool for the modern photographer, I m not in the business, so I can
t answer related questions; I just have a knack for retouching the photos of friends and family and am
familiar with the workings of the program.) First we start by creating the path of the coin. It s
generally simpler to begin with an example in front of you, so try scanning the coin you want to use
into the program. Next, click on the Pen Tool to trace a path around the coin s shape. You don t have to
be exact, just get the general shape. You need to fill the shape you just made with black paint . Click
on the Paths Palette, then right click on Make a Selection . Hold down the Alt button and press
Backspace. At this point, there should be some transparency visible behind the image of your coin; if
necessary, conceal the background and other layers by going

The Complexities and Themes in The Wind in the Willows by...
The story The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame is considered by many critics as being one of
many children s classics that every child should read. This book has had many editions, most of them
illustrated, unlike our version; also, we can find various versions of this story as films. This story at
first glance seems to be a very good children s novel, with animals and adventure, however it is much
more than that, first of all this book has very complex words in it that even I had to look up. In despite
of this, the story has themes and adventures that are very child oriented. The themes of friendship and
adventure are what tie this whole book together. A book plot is present in the book, however, it is not
what ties the book and it is not very present until the end of the book. To begin, the themes are what
tie this book together. This is obvious as the book progresses and that no real plot is evident until the
middle of the book. This is because most of the chapters can be read separately as their own stories.
This shows that to Kenneth Grahame, the plot of the story is not what is important but rather the
morals and the themes that he will make very apparent. One of the themes that Kenneth Grahame
incorporates into the story, that is present until the end is the idea of friendship and of good friends.
The whole story is showing how Mole, Badger and Rat who are very good friends to Toad even
though Toad does not appreciate them and listen to them as much as he

Kingdom of Heaven Analysis Essay
This is my longer analysis of the Kingdom of Heaven. Appreciate any feedback. [SPOILER
WARNING]
The Kingdom of Heaven is an anti religion humanist epic. The moral of the story is that humanism is
better than religion. KOH uses a traditional storytelling formula designed to convince people to reject
a particular belief or worldview. A sympathetic hero begins the story believing in the worldview the
screenwriter wants to discredit. After seeing the worldview for what it really is (according to the
storyteller at least), the hero reluctantly rejects that worldview in favor of one the screenwriter wants
to endorse. In this case the hero, Balian, starts as a Christian. Through the tribulations of a crusade, he
bravely and nobly becomes a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most explicit expression of humanism is in a dialogue between Balian and a wise knight,

Hospitaler:

God does not speak to me. Not even on the hill where Christ died. I am outside of God´s grace.
Hospitaler:
I have not heard that.
Balian:
At any rate, it seems that I have lost my religion.
Hospitaler:
I put no stock in religion. By the word œreligion I´ve seen the lunacy of fanatics of every
denomination be called the will of God. Holiness is in right action and courage on behalf of those who
cannot defend themselves. And goodness, what God desires, is here [pointing to Balian´s head] and
here [pointing to Balian´s heart]. By what you decide every day, you will be a good man. Or not.
The statement œI put no stock in religion sums up the whole movie. The Hospilater´s statement that
fanatics use the œwill of God as an excuse for any action is supported at several points in the movie
where both Christians

The Advertising Campaign Of Union Is Strength
United Recently, there have been issues of gender, race, ethnicity, police brutality, and more
throughout the United States. Countless stories can be heard of white cops shooting black men,
professional football players kneeling for the National Anthem, and people being pushed to the brink
of suicide for being made fun of for being different. As a nation, the people are divided. Everyone is in
their own little group. Black men tend to hang out with black men. White men tend to hang out with
other white men. United. It s in the name of this country. United we stand, divided we fall. In the
advertisement campaign for Union Is Strength, (Link 1) there are many examples that symbolize why
it is better to be united rather than divided and why this series of advertisements is considered so
influential due to it s inspiring message and endless number of interpretations and uses. The future of
this country really depends on people sticking together. There is even a campaign of advertisements
dedicated to this. There are three advertisements under the name, Union is Strength that depict this.

Benefit Of Listening To Music
Ever since I began high school, music has been an important part of my life. Every day, on the way to
and from school, I could be seen on the bus relaxing and listening to music. At first, I listened to music
because it seemed like the most convenient way for me to pass time and stay entertained on my ride.
However, as I got older and became more accustomed to my schedule, what I realized was that
listening to music every day had a larger effect on my mental health then I thought. I realized that for
me, listening to music had a meditative effect, and when I would not listen to my music, I would feel
more stressed out and anxious then when I did. Therefore, I was not one bit surprised when I learned
of numerous studies that have proven that listening to music every day is not only a leisure activity,
but has serious effects on the brain that anyone could benefit from. I was able to have a first hand
experience of benefiting from music as a meditative tool, and hope that other students are able to
realize that they should not just be listening to music for leisure, but should be making listening to
music a part of their daily schedule because of the health benefits it has. One benefit of listening to
music on a daily basis as a form of meditation is that music has been proven to reduce stress. This is
incredibly value for college students, as according to the American College Health Association
(ACHA) 2017 National College Health Assessment survey, 33.7% of college students

Two U.S. Vacation Hot Spots Essay
In all of my travels across the United States of America, the `hottest vacation spot hands down is in
Key West, Florida and the `coolest place to travel to is Denali National Park in Denali, Alaska. These
vacation destinations are the two most beautiful and most relaxing places in the nation! I personally
have experienced a week of enjoyment at both locations and find myself wanting to go back to each of
them in the future because I had such a great time. Even though these are both awesome places to
spend a week of vacation time, they differ in weather and climate patterns, they each have unique
attractions and activities to do, and both vary in travel costs and various other expenses.

Since both vacation spots have different climates, they both offer a variety of different activities to do
and adventures to have. In Key West, vacationers are literally surrounded by water and have numerous
water activities to partake in like deep sea fishing, boating, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, jet
skiing, going to the beach, etc. I would suggest packing your travel bags full of shorts, tee shirts, water
apparel, and extra sunscreen! In the arctic area of Alaska, recreational activities include biking,
climbing, camping, fishing, hiking, winter sports, scenic driving, wildlife viewing, and visiting various
exhibits. Your travel bags for Denali National Park should consist of warm, water resistant clothing,
hiking equipment, camping equipment, and nutritional and energizing camping food.
One of the most important issues about traveling and vacations is the cost and the overall expense of
the trip. From Allentown, Pennsylvania, a round trip ticket for a week to Key West, Florida is going to
cost between four hundred and five hundred dollars, including a rental car and gas. However, a round
trip ticket for a week to Anchorage, Alaska, and also gas and a rental car to drive four hours north to
Denali, is going to be slightly more expensive. It is going to cost between six hundred and nine
hundred dollars to travel. These costs do not even cover food, hotels, or shelter you are going to stay

How Did King Henry Viii Change Over Time
481 years ago change was stirring in the court of King Henry the Eighth and The Roman Catholic
Church, this was no ordinary change though this kind of change is the kind that changed religious
history. Leading up the English reformation King Henry was married to Catherine of Aragon and had
many attempts at giving birth to a male heir as a result of this King Henry began to tire of this married
and looked elsewhere to Anne Boleyn and became what historians refer to as infatuated with her,
wanting an annulment Henry asked the Pope at the time Clement VII to grant him one and utilized his
knowledge of the Old Testament to give reason to his request stating that Leviticus 20:16 said If a man
shall take his brother s wife, it is an impurity; he hath uncovered his brother s nakedness; they shall be
childless Henry also referred to his marriage with Catherine as blighted in the eyes of God However
the pope did not grant one because it goes against the Catholic faith, one underling reason is the fact
that one of the most powerful monarchs in Europe was Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor who s
kingdom spanned over Spain, Germany and Italy this accumulated to nearly 4 million square
kilometers in land. Charles was the nephew of Catherine and if an annulment was to occur it was
likely that Charles would take it to offence causing the Western Catholic

Clinical Outcome of CBT Compared With Pharmacotherapy One approach to treating depression
involves addressing the cognitions that mediate the emotional impact of events in patients lives (e.g.,
Beck, Rush, Shaw, Emery, 1979; Beck Young, 1985). The proponents of this approach assert that it is
not necessarily aversive events that lead to depression, but rather cognitions about those events. CBT
involves helping patients modify cognitive distortions that may be negatively impacting mood. Many
studies have shown cognitive therapy to be more effective than antidepressant medication (Blackburn,
Bishop, Glen, Whalley, Christie, 1981; Evans et al., 1992; Kovacs, Rush, Beck, Hollon, 1981; Rush,
Beck, Kovacs, Hollon, 1977; Rush, Beck, Kovacs, Weissenburger, Hollon, 1982). Some studies have
shown cognitive therapy alone to be as effective as antidepressant medication (Elkin et al., 1989;
Hollon et al., 1992) or combined cognitive/drug treatment (Beck, Hollon, Young, Bedrosian, Budenz,
1985; Blackburn et al., 1981; Covi Lipman, 1987; Evans et al., 1992; Hollon et al. ; Murphy, Simons,
Wetzel, Lustman, 1984). Yet other studies suggest that cognitive therapy adds to the efficacy of
standard antidepressant drug treatment (Bowers, 1990; Dunn, 1979; Miller, Norman, Keitner, Bishop,
Dow, 1989; Teasdale, Fennell, Hibbert, Amies, 1984). Other studies have evaluated CBT treatments
that emphasize the

The Individualization Of Civility And Civilization
Although religions originated for a common goal, each civilization has developed its own unique
interpretation of religion, which impacts how each civilization fosters hospitality or hostility.
Religions establish morals, such as collectivism, that is used to unite and maintain civilization.
Civilizations develop unique interpretations of religion to organize unification based on a shared
purpose, having concern for community. This diversity allows people to distinguish the relationship
between religion and civilization of unification and structure based on beliefs. The relationship not
only within, but also between civilizations are visible through religions influence on hospitality and
hostility. Throughout history, religions have played a significant role in both the formation and
cooperation of civilizations in various ways including, civilizations forming based on common
principles, the unique perception of religion in various civilizations, and the fostering of hospitality
and hostility through religion in civilizations.
To begin, although religions are uniquely individualistic, they are founded on a common goal, the
establishment of morals within civilizations as well as globally. It is understood that people are
inherently individualistic and prone to self interests. Therefore, religion is used to promote tolerance
and respect. This common goal among religions, although uniquely different, is evident in nearly all
civilizations. For example, jian ai is a part of

Humanistic Psychology
At the beginning of this course I was excited to finally delve into psychological concepts that I had not
learned about, being that I was fresh into the psychology major and my background included an
infinitesimal understanding of basic concepts along with some background on child developmental
psychology. I have never deeply thought about psychology s relation to science, especially in regards
to research. My primary learning expectations for the course were to ultimately comprehend the
scientific side of psychology, while also being able to grasp an understanding of different
psychological concepts such as psychoanalysis, and about how these are translated into the
ontological, epistemological, or methodological aspects of research. Now coming to the end of the
semester, I have realized the depth and significance of the human science approach to researching and
understanding people. In regards to career goals, I plan retain the important qualities of the theories
we discussed and use them to visualize and recognize the complexity and malleability of an individual
s inner psyche. However, I still find myself lost in trying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In regards to our text, humanistic psychology predominantly involves studying meaningful events
among human beings in order to learn about human beings (Laubscher, 2016, p. 104). What I found
quite striking in this theory was the self actualizing tendency (SAT) that involves our innate urge to
grow and expand to our fullest potential. I have never equated humans to oak trees, but it is a suitable
analogy to what exactly is happening in regards to the SAT. Much like plants, we need nutrients to
grow, and these qualities include unconditional positive regard, congruence, and

My Experience At My Church
Have you ever felt like you were getting called upon to do something? I ve experienced this after my
dad passed away. I felt God calling me to serve my church. I started to become more active in my
church s faithful followers group. I felt God come into my life. I got the chance to go on this amazing
trip that changed my life around.
I was sitting in my confirmation class on Sunday afternoon, when my teacher, Melanie, was talking
about all the upcoming events. She had an eye catching video about the National Catholic Youth
Conference or NCYC. The group from two years about created the video. They went into detail of
what we d get out of the trip. The thing that stuck out the most was the unique feeling of God s
presents. It was time to pay for our spot on this trip. The cost was $50, so you would have a seat on
the bus. This frightened me because I didn t know if I wanted to go for sure. I was going to be around
200,000 other people, only seven being ones from my church. Preparing for this trip was time
consuming. We had to dedicate all our free time this summer to setting up fundraisers. The trip was
$510 per person. Our fundraising consisted of selling Pastry Puffins, bake sales, and 50/50 tickets.
Also there were people who would donate so they could get a free pancake breakfast out of the deal.
We had meetings on top of meetings. We had to think of every possible thing we could to make this
trip possible. We discussed trading items for weeks. We finally figured

Introduction Over the past several decades, the forces of rapid economic and technological change, the
influx of women and minorities into the workforce, the economic shift to a post industrial, global
economy and an investment market emphasis on short term profits combined to reshape organizations.
Major components of the change included organizational restructuring, the erosion of employee trust,
increasingly greater workforce diversity and the emergence of work teams as drivers of firm
performance. Concurrently, many women in organizations, mostly confined to the lower and middle
management levels and in the majority of firms denied any opportunity to move

The Efficacy Of Massage Therapy On Preterm Infants
The Efficacy of Massage Therapy on Preterm Infants Taryn L. Metz Winona State University The
Efficacy of Massage Therapy on Premature Infants According to the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (2013) 500,000 infants are affected by preterm births each year. A preterm infant is born
prior to 37 weeks of their gestational age (Smith, 2012) and can be classified as very premature (less
than 32 weeks gestation), premature (born between 32 and 34 weeks gestation) or late premature (born
between 34 and 37 weeks gestation) (Durham Chapman, 2010). Despite the widespread advances in
hospital policies and extensive research, the preterm birthrate continues to rise (Witt et al., 2014).
Between 1990 and 2010 the number ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My dream is to not only promote healing for such vulnerable patients, but also inspire hope in the
families of these premature infants. I am continuously striving to become the best nurse and patient
advocate that I can be, by implementing more than just conventional treatment within each of my
patient s plan of care. My interest in the use of alternative therapies led me to develop the following
question: In hospitalized preterm infants, does the use of massage therapy promote overall adaptation
and development? Massage therapy is defined as, a systematic touch by human hands, which
stimulates the tactile sense of the infant and which has been documented for several decades to have a
positive effect on both full term and preterm infants (Abdallah et al., 2013, p. 663). The goal of this
paper is to describe the transition from intrauterine to extrauterine life and identify normal adaptation
for the newborn and how these adaptations can affect a preterm infants development, identify different
nonpharmacological interventions, including massage therapy and determine whether these techniques
are effective in promoting adaptation and development of the preterm infant and if so, how do these
therapies impact the preterm infant s overall development. Throughout the human experience, one of
the most complex adaptations is the transition from intrauterine to

Similarities Between Purti And Purusha
Prakrti is the principle of matter. Matter is unconscious (jada). All the evolutes of Prakrti are
unconscious by nature but because Purusha is getting reflected at citta, that reflection makes citta as if
conscious and it starts to function. Next reflection of Purusha is on ahamkar and so ahamkar is
conscious, thus all the body parts are conscious. Purusha can never become one, either with ahamkara
or tanmatras or panchamahabhutas. By nature, it cannot. Philosophically we say Sankhya is
uncompromising dualism, atheistic realism and spiritualistic pluralism. Dualism is two principles.
There is no compromise possible between these two. Neither can Purusha give rise to Prakrti nor
Prakrti to Purusha. They are existing from eternity. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One, it discriminates and decides, and second it stores all samskaras / memories. It is called Karma
Shaya. Karmashaya means ashaya of karmas like any time an activity is performed or a deed, an act,
any time the thought / emotion passes the mind along with feeling or getting that experience there is
an impression of that experience carried in one s own self. When one is thirsty, thirst is quenched by
drinking a cold drink. But in the citta the storage takes place that the drink was very nice. This storage
of impression gets accumulated for every act (karma), whether it is a thought crossing the mind, an act
or feeling, whatever happens this storage of impression gets added. The karmashaya increases. E.g.;
every karma has two results, one is the karma phala the thirst was quenched. Phala is immediate but
along with the phala samskara is generated. Samskara is the problem. The samskara is the seed or
source for further action. After a gap of time when one feels thirsty again, the previous drink which
satisfied the thirst is remembered. During the intervening period the drink was not there in the
consciousness, but the moment the circumstances or the situations ripen, immediately the samskara
comes up. The moment the samskaras come up, they fructify into further action. One would like to
have the same drink again. Again, it goes on adding. Thus, one gets continuously entangled in this
chain of karmas and

Outline and evaluate research into the effects of anxiety on the accuracy of eye witness testimony. Eye
witness testimonies are the evidence given in court or in police investigation by someone who has
witnessed a crime or an accident. Eye witness testimonies are affected by a number of factors, but the
one that I am going to focus on is anxiety. Laboratory studies and some real life studies have generally
shown impaired recall in people who have witnessed particularly distressing or anxiety induced
situations. The weapon focus effect phenomenon as identified by Loftus 1979, she asked participants
to sit outside a laboratory where they thought they were hearing a genuine exchange between people

which were subject to low levels of anxiety had improved recall of recognising the man in the

  • 2. Rudy And Rudy In The Film The Rainmaker Rudy Baylor, the star of the film The Rainmaker, gets a dose of reality as he enters the legal profession right after law school. Rudy is a young, unemployed lawyer desperate for a job. Without any connections to prestigious law firms, he is forced to accept his first offer from J. Lyman Bruiser Stone, fraudulent and just all around shady personal injury attorney. Rudy soon meets Deck Shiffler, a self proclaimed a paralawyer , with some certainly unethical tactics. Rudy begins to accompany Deck on his ambulance chasing endeavors and the ethical slippery slope begins. The Verdict is a film centered on the prosecution medical malpractice case of a young woman. For Kelly, the woman he loved, he had no choice but to defend her. I feel that anyone watching the film, myself included, understands the lengths people take to protect their loved ones. Even though self defense is not a morally or ethically wrong, Rudy still fails to disclose to the police that he had been at Kelly s on the night of Cliff and his role in the death. I feel that his failure to come forth with the truth is dishonest on his part. Despite his hesitance to own up to his actions, Rudy exemplifies his love for Kelly by risking everything to come to her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How the provision of information in the antenatal period can positively affect health and life style choices in the pregnant woman and her family. It is a recognised certainty that nutrition is a fundamental requirement to sustain a healthy lifestyle and is also extremely valuable when recovering from an illness or an injury. Nutrients are absorbed in the body and this physiological process is essential for homeostasis and ensuring equilibrium is sustained within the body as without enough food and drink the body will not function correctly (Edwards Thomas, 2009). This essay will provide information on folic acid and its properties, its role and the midwife s role and responsibility in informing women in the early stages of pregnancy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In pregnancy the body needs to produce cells to help with the development and nourishment of the growing fetus; it also helps to make red blood cells . During pregnancy, risks can be associated with toxaemia, premature birth and haemorrhaging if there is no folic acid in the diet (Youngson, 2005). Folic acid contributes to several major biological processes and these include the combination of RNA, DNA and proteins. It is needed to help with the repair and replication of DNA and the maintenance of the genome and it is also involved in the regulation of gene expression (Hendler Rorvik, 2008). Folate is a natural occurrence in foods such as beans and pulses (e.g. lentils and chickpeas), leafy green vegetables, broccoli, spinach, tuna and oranges (Tiran, 2000). Some foods are also fortified with folic acid such as cereals and bread. Late in the 1990 s United State scientists came to the realisation that despite the availability of folic acid in supplements as well as foods available in the supermarkets, people were still finding it a challenge to meet their daily folate requirement; with this in mind the United States of America implemented the folate fortification program (Latimes.com). For women of childbearing age, folic acid consumption needed to be increased so in January of 1998 the United States food and drug administration authorised a folic acid fortification of all products containing grain. • 5. Attending The School Year It is my belief that we shouldn t extend the school year. I think this because there are programs to help students remember curriculum, kids need time to play outside, and that frequent brakes might disturb the learning process. As McDonad states, Children forget a great deal when they are away from the classroom . I agree with that but what she does not acknowledge is that with modern technology there are programs such as, TTM, IXL, and Mobymax, that are made to help students learn in school as well as over summer break. Teachers usually assign or expect you to to use one or another of these programs to keep you caught up. • 6. Inaccuracies In Agora Agora There may have been some controversies about Hypatia s spiritual beliefs, however, her devotion, knowledge, and perseverance can be admired by all. This movie depicted some accurate historical facts and events surrounding the life of Hypatia in Alexandria. However, there were some inaccuracies of events that were discovered. For example, The Great Library of Alexandria did not exist in during this time period. During the center portion of the movie, there was a dramatized scene where the Christians were attacking the Agora while the Pagans were in the library attempting to save the important books. This was not a factual depiction of this event. The Great Library was actually built in 288 B.C. and destroyed in 48 B.C. The movie s setting is based around the 4th century A.D. which is a clear indication that the library was no longer in existence.* Another example of the film s inaccuracy is the account and event of Hypatia s death. In the film, her death was the result of her knowledge and her ability to reason which labeled her as a witch. In addition, her death did not have anything to do with her religious beliefs or the fact that she was a woman. Hypatia s death was due to politics. In the film, a follower of Cyril threw a stone at Orestes, the man was arrested, tortured and later killed. In revenge, the Christians became outraged and agreed to kill the person who Orestes loved most which was Hypatia ( ). Therefore, the film s depiction of Hypatia being killed ... • 7. Medea as Woman, Hero and God in Euripides Play Essay Medea as Woman, Hero and God In Euripides play the title role and focus of the play is the foreign witch Medea. Treated differently through the play by different people and at different times, she adapts and changes her character, finally triumphing over her hated husband Jason. She can feasibly be seen as a mortal woman, Aristotle s tragic hero figure and even as an exulted goddess. Medea s identity as a weak woman is emphasised at the very start of the play. It is made very clear that she has come to misfortune through no fault of her own and is powerless in her problem ( her world has turned to enmity ). Being unable to change her situation is an example of her portrayal as a weak woman figure. We are told that she has been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, once again though, we see this sharpness behind her veil of weakness ( no bloodier spirit ). With this said though, it is not a murderous, maniacal rage. She makes clear reference to the fact that she is part of the group of wretched women and that she is simply striking back as a woman scorned . When Creon comes on the stage, she continues with the pitiable appearance, begging ( I kneel to you, I beseech you ). She tries to persuade Creon that he has no threat from her, using the fact that she is a woman to make him disregard her power ( I m in no position a woman to wrong a king ). However, after this scene is where the image of Medea as a feeble woman ends. The Chorus indicate their pity and that Medea s plight touches our hearts . But at this point, Medea becomes the murderous and dangerous woman that will kill her children and cackle with glee at the thought of Glauce s death. She declares that she manipulated Creon, fawning on him to gain my purpose . She still holds our pity but not in the same intensity (until eventually she finally loses pity almost completely in her double infanticide). As a mother, Medea on the surface is not the best, as she eventually kills her children, ignoring their pleas for mercy ( Mother, don t kill us ). However, we must not ignore the heartache and pain that Medea endures in killing them. It takes incredible conviction to carry it out ( parted from you, my life will be all pain and ... • 8. Dance Team Philosophies Since I have been in this class I have gotten the opportunity to hear about many different directing styles and team philosophies. This semester I got a chance to listen to Abby Payne, Tracey Anderson, and Kellie Jackson Jandt. From listening to their experiences and drawing back on my own experiences I have learned a lot about how I would want to lead my team. Abby Payne at Lake Travis High School claims her team is all about the show. They do football, contest, and spring show but spring show is the team s favorite. One thing that seemed unique about her team is that they devote an entire group or the Elite team to preparing the dancers who want to dance collegiately. This is a great idea when you are in an area like Lake Travis because those dancers work hard in both academics and dance so they are more likely to attend prestigious schools that have excellent dance teams. It is a wonderful that Abby is taking steps to set them up for success in their future. Another thing that is interesting to me is that Abby encourages them to be in other organizations and to involve themselves in other things besides dance team so they can build their resumes. From my experience a lot of directors prefer their dancers keep the dance team as the number one priority and to not make too many other time commitments that take away from their devotion to the team. It s very generous of Abby to allow the kids to take these opportunities to further prepare them for their future. The thing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Two Major Types Of Inorganic Growth DAVIS SERVICE GROUP 1. Describe two major ways in which a company can grow. Give examples to illustrate the two ways of growing. Two major ways in which a company can grow are: A. Inorganic Growth Inorganic growth comes from a merge or acquisition. Is when the business and sales of a company increases due to acquiring another business, and not due to their regular business activities. Companies that decide to take this road usually have access to new markets due to the merge or acquisition. Advantages of Inorganic Growth: Expands assets Expands income Expands market Stronger line of credit because of the new combine value of the business Disadvantages of Inorganic Growth: Expand your management capabilities More employees and assets to monitor Growth in a direction you did not anticipate Grow too fast If calculations of increased income are inaccurate, may incur in debt Example: Microsoft is probably the best example of Inorganic Growth. This company has successfully completed more than 100 acquisitions since 1986. Google is another great example; they have completed over 150 acquisitions since 2001. B. Organic Growth Organic growth is when a company growth rate is achieved by increasing output and enhancing sales internally, customer expansion or a new product development. In other words, expansion from within the business. Advantages of Organic Growth: Strong management Know your business inside out Move quickly and take advantage of market change ... It was heralded as a breakthrough when it was created, and since then it s only become better with age in each successive update. To learn how to use the brush engine to its fullest capacity, let s look at how a custom brush can make something as simple as a coin come to life before your eyes (and not in that creepy, muppet sort of way.) (Disclaimer: I ve had people ask me complex questions about getting into the professional photography business. While I have friends in the profession and know that Photoshop is a necessary tool for the modern photographer, I m not in the business, so I can t answer related questions; I just have a knack for retouching the photos of friends and family and am familiar with the workings of the program.) First we start by creating the path of the coin. It s generally simpler to begin with an example in front of you, so try scanning the coin you want to use into the program. Next, click on the Pen Tool to trace a path around the coin s shape. You don t have to be exact, just get the general shape. You need to fill the shape you just made with black paint . She accepted Islam and used all her worldly goods to help spread the message of Islam. And it is from her that Allah blessed the prophet (saw) with children. • 14. The Complexities and Themes in The Wind in the Willows by... The story The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame is considered by many critics as being one of many children s classics that every child should read. This book has had many editions, most of them illustrated, unlike our version; also, we can find various versions of this story as films. This story at first glance seems to be a very good children s novel, with animals and adventure, however it is much more than that, first of all this book has very complex words in it that even I had to look up. In despite of this, the story has themes and adventures that are very child oriented. The themes of friendship and adventure are what tie this whole book together. A book plot is present in the book, however, it is not what ties the book and it is not very present until the end of the book. To begin, the themes are what tie this book together. This is obvious as the book progresses and that no real plot is evident until the middle of the book. This is because most of the chapters can be read separately as their own stories. This shows that to Kenneth Grahame, the plot of the story is not what is important but rather the morals and the themes that he will make very apparent. One of the themes that Kenneth Grahame incorporates into the story, that is present until the end is the idea of friendship and of good friends. The whole story is showing how Mole, Badger and Rat who are very good friends to Toad even though Toad does not appreciate them and listen to them as much as he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Kingdom of Heaven Analysis Essay This is my longer analysis of the Kingdom of Heaven. Appreciate any feedback. [SPOILER WARNING] The Kingdom of Heaven is an anti religion humanist epic. The moral of the story is that humanism is better than religion. KOH uses a traditional storytelling formula designed to convince people to reject a particular belief or worldview. A sympathetic hero begins the story believing in the worldview the screenwriter wants to discredit. After seeing the worldview for what it really is (according to the storyteller at least), the hero reluctantly rejects that worldview in favor of one the screenwriter wants to endorse. Hospitaler: I put no stock in religion. By the word œreligion I´ve seen the lunacy of fanatics of every denomination be called the will of God. Countless stories can be heard of white cops shooting black men, professional football players kneeling for the National Anthem, and people being pushed to the brink of suicide for being made fun of for being different. As a nation, the people are divided. Everyone is in their own little group. Black men tend to hang out with black men. White men tend to hang out with other white men. United. It s in the name of this country. United we stand, divided we fall. In the advertisement campaign for Union Is Strength, (Link 1) there are many examples that symbolize why it is better to be united rather than divided and why this series of advertisements is considered so influential due to it s inspiring message and endless number of interpretations and uses. The future of this country really depends on people sticking together. There is even a campaign of advertisements dedicated to this. There are three advertisements under the name, Union is Strength that depict this. Each commercial is thirty seconds long and is trying to reach the same conclusion. The first commercial in the campaign shows a group of crabs walking on the sand. A seagull is seen flying overhead. The seagull singles out a crab and dives down to eat Wilson 2 it. • 19. Benefit Of Listening To Music Ever since I began high school, music has been an important part of my life. Every day, on the way to and from school, I could be seen on the bus relaxing and listening to music. At first, I listened to music because it seemed like the most convenient way for me to pass time and stay entertained on my ride. However, as I got older and became more accustomed to my schedule, what I realized was that listening to music every day had a larger effect on my mental health then I thought. I realized that for me, listening to music had a meditative effect, and when I would not listen to my music, I would feel more stressed out and anxious then when I did. Therefore, I was not one bit surprised when I learned of numerous studies that have proven that listening to music every day is not only a leisure activity, but has serious effects on the brain that anyone could benefit from. I was able to have a first hand experience of benefiting from music as a meditative tool, and hope that other students are able to realize that they should not just be listening to music for leisure, but should be making listening to music a part of their daily schedule because of the health benefits it has. One benefit of listening to music on a daily basis as a form of meditation is that music has been proven to reduce stress. This is incredibly value for college students, as according to the American College Health Association (ACHA) 2017 National College Health Assessment survey, 33.7% of college students ... Two U.S. Vacation Hot Spots Essay In all of my travels across the United States of America, the `hottest vacation spot hands down is in Key West, Florida and the `coolest place to travel to is Denali National Park in Denali, Alaska. These vacation destinations are the two most beautiful and most relaxing places in the nation! I personally have experienced a week of enjoyment at both locations and find myself wanting to go back to each of them in the future because I had such a great time. Even though these are both awesome places to spend a week of vacation time, they differ in weather and climate patterns, they each have unique attractions and activities to do, and both vary in travel costs and various other expenses. Weather and climate conditions are one major ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since both vacation spots have different climates, they both offer a variety of different activities to do and adventures to have. In Key West, vacationers are literally surrounded by water and have numerous water activities to partake in like deep sea fishing, boating, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, jet skiing, going to the beach, etc. I would suggest packing your travel bags full of shorts, tee shirts, water apparel, and extra sunscreen! In the arctic area of Alaska, recreational activities include biking, climbing, camping, fishing, hiking, winter sports, scenic driving, wildlife viewing, and visiting various exhibits. Your travel bags for Denali National Park should consist of warm, water resistant clothing, hiking equipment, camping equipment, and nutritional and energizing camping food. One of the most important issues about traveling and vacations is the cost and the overall expense of the trip. From Allentown, Pennsylvania, a round trip ticket for a week to Key West, Florida is going to cost between four hundred and five hundred dollars, including a rental car and gas. However, a round trip ticket for a week to Anchorage, Alaska, and also gas and a rental car to drive four hours north to Denali, is going to be slightly more expensive. It is going to cost between six hundred and nine hundred dollars to travel. These costs do not even cover food, hotels, or shelter you are going to stay in. How Did King Henry Viii Change Over Time 481 years ago change was stirring in the court of King Henry the Eighth and The Roman Catholic Church, this was no ordinary change though this kind of change is the kind that changed religious history. Leading up the English reformation King Henry was married to Catherine of Aragon and had many attempts at giving birth to a male heir as a result of this King Henry began to tire of this married and looked elsewhere to Anne Boleyn and became what historians refer to as infatuated with her, wanting an annulment Henry asked the Pope at the time Clement VII to grant him one and utilized his knowledge of the Old Testament to give reason to his request stating that Leviticus 20:16 said If a man shall take his brother s wife, it is an impurity; he hath uncovered his brother s nakedness; they shall be childless Henry also referred to his marriage with Catherine as blighted in the eyes of God However the pope did not grant one because it goes against the Catholic faith, one underling reason is the fact that one of the most powerful monarchs in Europe was Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor who s kingdom spanned over Spain, Germany and Italy this accumulated to nearly 4 million square kilometers in land. Charles was the nephew of Catherine and if an annulment was to occur it was likely that Charles would take it to offence causing the Western Catholic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Clinical Outcome of CBT Compared With Pharmacotherapy One approach to treating depression involves addressing the cognitions that mediate the emotional impact of events in patients lives (e.g., Beck, Rush, Shaw, Emery, 1979; Beck Young, 1985). The proponents of this approach assert that it is not necessarily aversive events that lead to depression, but rather cognitions about those events. CBT involves helping patients modify cognitive distortions that may be negatively impacting mood. Many studies have shown cognitive therapy to be more effective than antidepressant medication (Blackburn, Bishop, Glen, Whalley, Christie, 1981; Evans et al., 1992; Kovacs, Rush, Beck, Hollon, 1981; Rush, Beck, Kovacs, Hollon, 1977; Rush, Beck, Kovacs, Weissenburger, Hollon, 1982). We had to dedicate all our free time this summer to setting up fundraisers. The trip was $510 per person. Our fundraising consisted of selling Pastry Puffins, bake sales, and 50/50 tickets. A preterm infant is born prior to 37 weeks of their gestational age (Smith, 2012) and can be classified as very premature (less than 32 weeks gestation), premature (born between 32 and 34 weeks gestation) or late premature (born between 34 and 37 weeks gestation) (Durham Chapman, 2010). All the evolutes of Prakrti are unconscious by nature but because Purusha is getting reflected at citta, that reflection makes citta as if conscious and it starts to function. Next reflection of Purusha is on ahamkar and so ahamkar is conscious, thus all the body parts are conscious. Purusha can never become one, either with ahamkara or tanmatras or panchamahabhutas. By nature, it cannot. Philosophically we say Sankhya is uncompromising dualism, atheistic realism and spiritualistic pluralism. Dualism is two principles.
