1. Are you paying attention?
In the first store named Sanborns, this strore are full of
merchandise a lot, and you can see it out of the store thats draw
you in, you want to see the things more closely may be that is a
success but all the color of the store is beige looks like Mexico old
town or something like that.
The light is tenuous but pointed in specific items on sale maybe the
most expensive or new I never see that before it was very clever
the item looks shiny and attractive and this is in each area of the
store; it was separated in zones Drugstore, books and magazines,
cigarettes, technology, watches and gifts, and the most important
for the store with that start the tradition since 1903, the restaurant,
the smell of the store is roast beef, refried beans, grilled cheese and
tomato broth.
The salesperson have a uniform red suit for men and women in the
store but in the restaurant are only women and have a typical dress
with long skirt and with white blouse.
The store is warm and you like to stay there looking many products
in Mexicois a different concept form other stores; this store give
some confidence to the customers for that have a good level of
sales.
The second store is GUESS I don’t know how long has that store
there but it doesn’t draw to in maybe for his regular customers, but

2. looks a little old fashioned for people of the 80’s, his environment is
in black and white, the quality of materials is not good, for my point
of view this are overvalued and that isn’t attractive; the store was
cold like the salesperson attention.
In my experience in the store I feel like they try to use techniques
to make believe they are a exclusive brand but doesn’t work, in
addition to that the merchandise is sparse like a bazar and doesn’t
match with the supposed concept.
Maybe if they make a better environment, make it more personal
and make the store a little bit warm might work better.
The next store is Marti is a successful sport store because have a
wide range of sport items could say for each sport; in the store you
feel with energy is very brightly have a high ceiling wooden floor,
it’s warm and all the time show sports commercials, have a great
environment.
His salesperson has knowledge about the selling brands and sports,
they have a personal attention the salesperson stay with you all
the time is a place where you can go shopping with the family, I
think the only thing they would need is a discount card for frequent
customers.
The fourth store is Juguetron this is a small store but have a toys
from the floor to the ceiling to me don’t give good impression but
maybe yes for the kids, in the store play kids music but I think even

3. they might bother them, have agood toys and bit high prices but
have a good LEGO items.
The things I’ll change are the music with other, the floor would be
better with carpet, the smell they’ll make it sweet and the
salesperson they should look like big kids not like parents; and need
more colorful advertising.
The fifth store is Pet Land have a new concept of pet store in
Mexico because you can have a close contact with the pet
previously to the purchase and is a very good idea for the pet lovers
and the children and have a specific area to know the pet.
Only I have my doubts about the origin of the pets, they say the
pats come from registered and excellent hatcheries, but many dogs
don’t completely match with the international standards race and
they are very expensive, but the people purchase a lot in this place.
The last store is ChilimBalam this is candy store in Mexico have the
custom of buy candy in bulk sometimes and this store have it and in
addition have a new idea to sell the home made style chips with
gummies or cashew nuts and chamoy

original It was perfect because change the traditional concept of a
candy store.
And they have the common candies you can find in any store, but
can find import candies or traditional Mexican candies.

4. This activity make me change the point of view of the stores and
many things I try the idea of see everything as a tourist and it was
really fun and illustrator I’ll have in mind more often; with that
vision I saw how creative are the people in Mexico or the markets
know us very well.
